Reviews for Plough and Harrow

Review 1:Can't complain about anything!

Review 2:We had a lovely stay in our comfortable room. The hosts were so friendly and made us feel at home. What beautiful surroundings! We stayed here two nights for the World Cup Rugby in Cardiff and want to stay again when we have the time to explore!

Review 3:Location was asurprise but we loved the place and the people. It was quiet but a great place for an overnight stay. Bar and meals were great and locals very friendly.

Review 4:More or less everything was to our liking, the accommodation was adequate for our needs, the staff were very friendly and helpful and last but not least the food was excellent,

Review 5:Friendly, comfortable stay. Sue, the joint owner is "superwoman". Did all the cooking, cleaning, bar etc. Because she loves running the place, everything is done with enthusiasm and a smile. Cyd, the other joint owner, was great company when he wasn't playing golf!!

Review 6:I was staying there in order to partake in a charity walk/climb in Brecon Beacons. It is the most friendly and "homely" place to stay. Thought when I arrived that I was going to be disappointed now I can't wait to go back!

Review 7:Everything was excellent, the room was clean, well equipped and well furnished, the bathroom was modern and also well equipped. The food was well prepared and plentiful. We could not have been made more welcome We are happy to recommend it 100%

Review 8:The room was clean and comfortable and met all our expectations, the atmosphere of the pub was warm and friendly as were our hosts. The food was excellent especially the cooked breakfast.

Review 9:Picky I know, but the lovely bathroom was let down by cheap loo paper. Hardly a major criticism!

Review 10:Clean and comfortable and homely. Owners Sue and Cyd are most friendly, and the food was excellent.

Review 11:Nothing to dislike!

Review 12:We liked everything, just three rooms and our family had the three. The suite had a separate sitting room that was very handy. The breakfast was excellent and we had an evening meal the first night, really nice. Sue and Cyd gave us the best of welcome as did JJ the dog!

Review 13:The rooms were warm and cosy with a really comfy bed and everything so clean. Cyd and Sue we're welcoming hosts who couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely and it was nice at the end of the day to sit in front of the fire with a pint.

Review 14:Cyd and Sue and JJ the Brecon Mountain Dog gave us a very warm welcome and were excellent hosts. Breakfast and evening meals were beautifully home cooked. Beer and laughter on tap!

Review 15:Unfortunately I found the bed quite uncomfortable. This is a shame because the duvet was really cosy and snug.

Review 16:The proprietors made us feel very welcome and at home. The food was great, and the overall atmosphere from the locals was very friendly.

Review 17:Syd and Sue made our stay so friendly we felt like locals by the second night, the pub was so warm and welcoming, food great and the dog very cute. I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants to explore beautiful Brecon and enjoy a friendly and fun stay.

Review 18:The welcome from Sue ( and JJ the Jack Russell) Plus Syd if he is not playing Golf sets the standard for your stay at the Plough and Harrow. Made to feel at home straight away and sorry to have only 2 nights to enjoy this fantastic hotel. The food is 1st class with veg from the garden and food sourced locally where possible. A must revisit for us.

Review 19:Bathroom was a bit small, if you are a larger person squeezing in between the shower, sink and wall to use the toilet is a bit of a downer. Only there for one night so adequate.

Review 26:Lovely small pub that is quaint and has wonderful hosts with a Jack Russell terrier mascot who loves to accompany you on walks. Great home made meals by Sue with roomy accommodations. Always interesting conversation over a pint. Quite quiet as it's out of the way and the pub closes at 11. You can't hear the patrons up in your room.

Review 76:This was the fourth time that I have had the pleasure of an overnight stay at the Plough & Harrow and would not stay anywhere else when visiting the Brecon area on business. Sue and Cyd are extremely friendly hosts and a home from home welcome awaits you on your arrival. JJ the Jack Russell is a willing companion who is more than ready to join you at the bar for a well earned drink after a busy day. The food is good value 'pub food' and the included breakfast is more than enough to start you off for the day before you leave in the morning. I have stayed at other local venues in the past but whenever possible, vacancies permitting, I would not chose to stay anywhere else. See you next time.
