Reviews for Brit Hotel Mâcon Centre Gare

Review 1:Easy to find, near the station but can't hear the trains! Comfortable hotel, good size room and en suite. Good for an overnight stop en route to the French Alps, but wouldn't mind staying a few nights to visit the local area.

Review 2:Working in hospitality, I understand how often pillows (not cases, I mean pillows) get washed. My bed linens were all nice and clean, but there was definitely a slept-in smell under all of that.

Review 3:Great, helpful staff, close proximity to local train station, good selection at breakfast.

Review 4:The hotel charges 8 euros for parking but only when I asked i was told that the parking outside is free from 6:30 till 9 the following day which meant for us there was no need to use their parking

Review 5:The room was nice and the bathroom looked recently furbished and was spotless.

Review 6:N/A

Review 7:Location was excellent with free parking close bye Only a short walk to the shops restaurants and bars Overall well presented and very clean

Review 8:Nothing to dislike

Review 9:This was an unexpected surprise. Based on the cost was very appreciative of the cleanliness and overall decor. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 10:An fresh orange juicer for breakfast and a lady who took great pride in making fresh fruit salad for the guests and tidying up quickly when they finished. Very clean, tidy and spacious rooms and breakfast area. Parking garage a few metres away worked well for us too though we thought it could be a drawback before we got there and tried it for ourselves.

Review 11:Great beds. Parking in a garage across the street need to be booked in advance since there is not really parking space outside the hotel. Bit stingy with soap for 3 persons.

Review 12:Area/ Macon seemed a bit rough, therefore we choose paid indoorparking.

Review 13:All newly refurbished. So everything great, nice & new. On of the two receptions spoke English very well. Close to trainstation (but no noise from trains :-) ). Close to river and some restaurants. Paid indoor parking available but also free (less safe?) parking nearby.

Review 14:Friendly staff, flexible and polite. Parking nearby and safe. Rooms renovated and aircondioneted. Easy to get back to the highway. We didn't take the breakfast, which seemed a bit simple from some distance.

Review 15:lovely new beds but awful cheap pillows and mattress covers!

Review 16:Brand new hotel in heart of city. Very clean and polite helpful staff. Great breakfast for the money!

Review 17:None

Review 18:Adam at the front desk. He is very nice and helped us a lot.

Review 19:Breakfast was very good and fresh! We had a good stay!

Review 20:Room and storage space a little small

Review 21:Very clean and comfortable

Review 22:paid parking far from hotel

Review 23:Close to a supermarket, recently renovated

Review 24:Great location, clean and friendly

Review 25:Parking near trainstation just 50 meters from the hotel, personnel friendly and correct

Review 26:Dirty

Review 27:Noice of airco.

Review 28:Good airco. Cold in room when entering.

Review 29:Locatiion is nothing special No wifi n rooms

Review 30:Good value, conveniet covd parking.

Review 31:-bad wifi signal in the room

Review 32:- New hotel - Clean and bright rooms - Spacious bathroom - Friendly staff

Review 33:The room we were given was nothing like the one advertised on the web-site. The room was so small that two people could not pass by each other very easily. The decor was awful and the bathroom was more the size of a closet. In all it was very outdated and not at all pleasant to stay in. If anyone stays here and is given room number 320 - you have been warned!

Review 34:Secure parking.

Review 35:Inconvenient, tiny elevator. Inconvenient tiny room. World's smallest shower cubicle. Mold in bathroom. Despite travelling with baby and requesting baby cot in advance the room we were allocated was tiny and there were too many fire doors and staircases making it really hard and laborious to get selves and baby and luggage and stroller too and from room. No porter to assist. Macon itself seemed very boring and little to do or see.

Review 36:Nothing to like

Review 37:Very bad internet connection, rooms were dark and had poor ventilation and no airco (it was +32C outside!). Toilet worked but that's about it!

Review 38:Reception was open 24h per day, good private parking option close to the hotel.

Review 39:If you want to stay in middle of town this hotel could be an options although I reckon there are better options. If it's just for a stopover it's much better to stay in one of the low budget hotels close to the highway (Campanile, Ibis Budget). Takes about 20 min to get into town and no private parking available. Rooms are really small and outdated, shower is a joke, beds are uncomfortable and walls are thinner than thin. Won't stay here again

Review 40:Nothing I liked

Review 41:9euros for b'fast not worth it. Within 5 mins you have better for less.

Review 42:Budget accomodation in good location near numerous restaurants/bars. Rooms clean but in dire need of modifying as they still smell of smoke and look worn. But for the price can't expect too much. Good for backpackers or people who just want a room as a place to sleep as opposed to spend time and relax.

Review 43:Very tired hotel, with tiny rooms and paper thin walls so you could hear every noise from your neighbours. The hotel has a run down feel to it.

Review 44:The location was excellent within minutes of the beautiful city centre and its pedestrian streets.

Review 45:The bathroom in our room was very small and the shower looked dirty but on closer inspection just needed a re-vamp. Would not liked to have stayed more than 1 night.

Review 46:The position of the hotel was very good, easy to walk into town and to the river. Breakfast started from 0500hrs which was unusual but welcome!

Review 47:weak wi-fi, due to massive door, some room for smokers so the smell was bed in this area, please be more civilized and ban these smokers at all!

Review 48:Close to the station, reception 24/24, very good breakfast, bar open in the evening

Review 49:heating was on and room was too hot (could not turn heating off). However, staff found another room for us. it would be noisy if we had to leave window open.

Review 50:Location close to station; very helpful staff

Review 51:Be prepared that it is on a main road and if you like to open your window it could be noisy, but there are double windows to reduce the noise.

Review 52:I stayed here in order to catch a train early next morning. It was just a 3-5 minute walk. Excellent value for money and staff were most helpful and knowledgeable about rail connections. Spacious, newly decorated room.

Review 53:Very small bathroom, with toilet included

Review 54:Good bed. For a 2 star hotel is not a bad deal, however still price foreur 69 per night for a double room

Review 55:Frindly and very helpfull staff. Answered all our questions, locationoff the hotel was perfect. Close to the center, near restaurants and theriver. I can recommend this hotel :)

Review 56:The room was in need of decorating, in particular the bath where some of the enamel had worn away leave sharp edges. the website said the hotel had a restaurant, however this was not the case.

Review 57:Staff were friendly and helpful

Review 58:Clean and cozy hotel. Very friendly and pleasant staff! Parking areaclose by as the hotel is located near the railway station. There aredouble windows - sound proof. Restaurants at a walking distance away.

Review 59:One word DUMP dirty basic a bed on a bare floor old dirty shower glad to get away.

Review 60:Nothing

Review 61:Our room smelled bad from mould. We got another room and the problem was solved at once.

Review 62:Nice and helpful staff!

Review 63:macon traffic & road layout

Review 64:not a lot

Review 65:Old accomodation

Review 66:Nice breakfast-friendly people

Review 67:The room was awfully hot with no aircondition and only one of two Windows could be opened. No minibar.

Review 68:The location

Review 69:No ac Noisy due to room on street side a nd had to keep windows open Breakfast expensive and not much to offer

Review 70:Spacious room Price

Review 71:A bit noisy in summer, when you have to leave the window open for a bit of fresh air. Lots of cars...

Review 72:Close to the centre.

Review 73:Very bad isolation of a room, old furniture and old repair (overhauling).

Review 74:Price and close location to the railway and bus station

Review 75:small room, very small showerroom,

Review 76:good bed, good breakfast, parking ok, wifi in the room

Review 77:Broken shower.

Review 78:Very helpful staff!

Review 79:VERY small shower stall, cold water faucet in the sink did not work, (room 209)

Review 80:Location, Breakfast,

Review 81:The room had been used by a smoker and reaked of stale smoke.

Review 82:The staff were exceptionally helpful

Review 83:it was convenient and very good value

Review 84:Very helpful portier when we needed help finding pharmacy and dentist.
