Reviews for Hôtel Edgar

Review 1:Good location, we had booked parking and that was great. All staff very pleasant and welcoming. Would reccommendeating dinner in the restaurant, excellent chef.

Review 2:Nice old-style stone exterior. Elevator and rooms appeared to have been recently modernised. Cost E10 per night to park the car in the grounds, but you can walk to most places from there. Walking-only streets start right next door with many shopsd and cafes.

Review 3:Difficult to locate initially using a SatNav which didn't understand the pedestrian areas, but great once the route was planned (aim for Place de la Resistance).

Review 4:Very elegant surroundings and comfortable room. Right in the town centre and so very convenient for all the sites.

Review 5:Breakfast was standard continental but no hot food

Review 6:Lovely rooms. Very clean. Comfortable. Fantastic location. Bar / Breakfast area very nice and relaxing. Friendly staff.

Review 7:Wifi connection good but almost impossible to get on internet. Too far from seafront for our requirements.

Review 8:Nicely furnished and decorated, pleasant staff especially the dinner waiter. Very quiet, thick carpets in corridors.

Review 9:Nothing other then €10 p/n to park the car on their forecourt.

Review 10:V stylish. Right on the market square. Probably the best choice of breakfast we had. Quality place

Review 11:At 9.30 a.m. all the tables show the leftovers by earlier guests and one had to search for a clean table. The waitress of the breakfast-room had also the job as clerk checking-out the guests.

Review 12:The restaurant has excellent food.

Review 13:Restaurant was closed for holidays? It may prove difficult to find for car drivers-we were on a motorcycle.

Review 14:Greeted by friendly staff. On site parking available. Room standard including a wet room was very good. Modern and comfortable. WiFi worked very well. Value for money was excellent. Situated in the old town close to restaurants and amenities. Breakfast options would satisfy most tastes.

Review 15:The staff spoke very little english and the parking was expensive and very limited.

Review 16:The breakfast was a bit pricey but in the end proved to be a pretty good value. There was a nice variety of fresh breads matched with cold meats and cheeses. There was also a cereal bar with at least four choices of dry cereal, fresh yogurt, and eggs made to order if you choose.

Review 17:Parking was a bit crowded

Review 18:Loved the fact that we were right in the centre. Breakfasts were very good, my husband particularly liked the choice of bread and the jam was great.

Review 19:The town itself was somewhat dirty and restaurants not easily found.

Review 20:Staff friendly and helped in any way they could. Very nicely furnished room. Hotel close to restaurants. Breakfast extremely good value and hotel overall had a homely atmosphere.

Review 21:Just a perfect position to enjoy the town. We had a great room with a huge bath! The service was friendly and loved the building and decor. Really great.

Review 22:nothing comes to mind!

Review 23:Got a great deal on Saturday night as their main business is during the week, would certainly return if in town. The receptionist booked us into a spot on restuarant a short walk away as their own restuarant is not open Saturday night, booked our taxi both ways, all great service.

Review 24:Difficulty parking (Hotel has limited parking spaces available)

Review 25:Centrally located

Review 26:This hotel has a very stylish bathroom. And parking is 10 Euros extra per night.

Review 27:The staff members we dealt with were very friendly.

Review 28:There was parking onsite for 10 Euro Nice room though not so keen on the wet room. Walking distance to eateries.

Review 29:The staff were lovely and the room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed.

Review 30:low-level but persistent humming of mechanical bathroom ventilation

Review 31:Modern facilities tastefully decorated. Adjacent restaurant in similar style

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Just Perfect

Review 34:small rooms

Review 35:location was very central for shops restaurants bars etc

Review 36:My stay was short, and there was not anything I disliked.

Review 37:Modern boutique hotel in an unbeatable location. Good value too.

Review 38:A first class hotel

Review 39:bit to quite for a weekend stay town almost seemed closed but then it was French summer season also.

Review 40:Room small

Review 41:Limited parking My partner was ill after the food in the evening

Review 42:Excellent position. Helpful staff and very comfortable room of good size.

Review 43:Beautiful building, central but easy to find, parking at hotel or nearby, modern inside.

Review 44:well appointed bedrooms

Review 45:10 euros to park your car.

Review 46:Small central hotel that feels very modern and large.

Review 47:Great location for the city and area

Review 48:Classy, affordable, excellent restaurant, and very quiet rooms with great bed/bathroom - exactly what the experienced business traveler seeks.

Review 49:Breakfast sketchy. Room lighting a little odd.

Review 50:Clean and smart.

Review 51:It's almost nothing but adding a kettle with some tea bags would be nice

Review 52:Everything. It is a very nice hotel, well decorated ...

Review 53:lovely hotel in town/historical centre with restaurants, shopping, and tourist information centre within just a few minutes walking distance

Review 54:Well-located stylish hotel. All facilities of a high standard and check-out time not too early.

Review 55:Charges for parking and limited options for breakfast.

Review 56:Friendly staff and great location.

Review 57:Superbe hotel

Review 58:Central location. Very modern hotel. Lovely room. Breakfast good price. Overall good value for money and would be the first place to stay when we visit town again.

Review 59:The room was designed for style & looks rather than practicality. No wardrobe or drawers, just a small rail with only 2 coat hangers provided. There was a stand to store one suitcase but absolutely no spare floor space to put a second one (we had to leave 2nd suitcase in the car). No tea/coffee making facitlities and no nearby shops that sold water or juice so everything had to be purchased in the hotel bar, at city centre hotel prices. Walk in shower looked good but design meant the entire floor got wet - and stayed wet. Parking difficult. So hotel probably fine for one night if on business but not for a holiday, even a short one.

Review 60:Be nice to have tea and coffee in the room

Review 61:Great hotel - have been before and are always impressed. Location is perfect for all the fantastic restaurants and superb food market on Saturdays. We were given an upgrade as it was my husband 60th birthday and stayed in a beautiful suite. The hotel is very tastefully designed and the bedrooms are very modern and clean with great granite showers, big comfy beds and beautiful cotton sheets! The breakfasts are excellent with good coffee, great bread and choice of meats and cheeses plus fruits, cereal, yogurts etc. The restaurant is a delight to sit in as there are wonderful pictures of old St Brieuc. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The bar is relaxing and they serve great biere a la pression which we like!! Best hotel in St Brieuc,no doubt!!

Review 62:As we had luggage for a one week stay our room had no wardrobe and only short hanging rail with two hangers and no drawers. We offered to pay to upgrade our room but nothing else available but the staff did find us more coat hangers which is all they could do in the circumstances.

Review 63:Excellent position in the heart of St Brieuc within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants. Room extremely quiet and comfortable.

Review 64:Safe in room did not work, could not be fixed during our stay. Curtain track very basic (much effort required to open/close) and let down the rest of the furnishings. But minor irritations only.

Review 65:We stayed in one of the suites which was very spacious and comfortable. Nicely designed in modern style. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 66:Parking in front of the hotel a little bit expensive (10 euros/ night). However we found a free parking very close to the hotel (close to the Saint Michel cathedral).

Review 67:Wonderful hotel, located in the heart of the city center. It's new and cosy, with a very nice and friendly design. We stayed for 7 days in a very spacious room. Linens and bathroom towels were changed daily. Personnel was wonderful and breakfast was more than delocious. Very good departing point for visiting Brittany

Review 68:Lovely hotel, well modernised/furnished and centrally located. Location closest we could get to unbookable beach resorts to stay along the beautiful Cote d'Armor.

Review 69:...would have loved to have had tea making facilities in the room. The shower was a bit 'style over function' and nearly sprayed into the bedroom. (not really a complaint...we had come from a camping trip!)

Review 70:Seemed very new and freshly refurbished to a high standard. Lovely lighting and comfortable bed.

Review 71:No restaurant during the weekend - St Brieuc very poor for dining places. St Brieuc is dead as a doornail :(

Review 72:The hotel was well placed downtown by the main market square. Comfortable rooms, good decor. Reasonably priced.

Review 73:Nothing.

Review 74:Everything excellent and very modern; parking a little demanding and finding way to hotel made difficult by one way system, otherwise, superb.

Review 75:Small 'chambre' with no wardrobe to hang clothes or tea making facilities. The shower was a 'wet room' and spray went everywhere!

Review 76:The character of the hotel and the restaurant facilities. The bed was comfortable.

Review 77:Room was at the back of the hotel and the view from the window was unattractive--flat roof with litter and was full of big metal air conditioning andheating pipes.

Review 78:Excellent location. Stunning interiors

Review 79:There is nothing to dislike at all

Review 80:Accommodation excellent furniture & fittings excellent & new cleanliness faultless bed comfort excellent & clean & comfy price good value breakfast food and quality excellent location excellent

Review 81:The only criticism we had was that There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Small point.

Review 82:The hotel is centrally located - close to restaurants, bars and shops. Parking was easy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Decor was stylish and understated.

Review 106:No advanced warning that onsite parking would be unavailable due to event in front of hotel.

Review 107:Bright, roomy modern design, great location and price.
