Review 15:The lady of the house was very friendly and willing to help and ot share information. She's really trying to make your stay as good as possible.
Review 16:It wasn't exactly close to anything, quite isolated, which I actually liked but can imagine it being an annoyance for people who wanted to be closer to civilisation.
Review 17:The owner was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a good bathroom and shower. The included breakfast was awesome, and the pub food there was exceptional at dinner.
Review 18:We stayed here as 4 friends on a walking trip and found the location to be very good. The staff are friendly and helpful especially Tracy. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable with nice views. The food was great especially the breakfast! There is also a good bar with pool table and darts board for entertainment. Review 36:Nothing I could pick fault with
Review 37:I travel with my job and I'm away from home often. I can honestly say this is by far the best value for money I have experienced as a solo traveller.
Review 38:Although we arrived early, the owner Tracey came out to the car park and greeted us. The room was spacious, clean and warm on a very cold weekend. It had a lovely bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The bar and restaurant area was warm and welcoming. The food at night and at breakfast was really good. Tracey was very helpful and attentive during our stay. The hotel is easy to find with very good parking. A return visit is a must. A 5 star establishment, with 5 star owners.
Review 39:Very nice helpful owner and the room I had was large, clean and very modern. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Probably the best breakfast that I have had in a hotel all year. I would recommend this hotel to anybody needing accommodation in this part of Wales.
Review 40:Everything - the Rising Sun is simply the best B&B I have stayed at in many a long year. Excellent food, warm clean rooms, ample parking, ideal location and friendly owners - a great place to stay.

Review 42:location
Review 43:None.
Review 44:My husband and I stayed The Rising Sun for three nights while our daughter was doing her Duke of Edinburgh silver award. A warm welcome greeted us. Our bedrooms were very well furnished and the en-suit bathrooms were spotlessly clean with many fluffy towels. We enjoyed the home-made food which was plentyful. The full English breakfast was quite delicious and most generous. We cannot praise The Rising Sun too highly. Certainly we shall stay there again when we explore surounding towns and villages.
Review 45:Great location for walking in the Black Mountains. This is one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in for many a year. Very friendly owners, excellent rooms, good food - everything was high quality throughout my stay.
Review 46:Leaving Not having more time in South Wales and spending more time in local pubs in the nearby hills

Review 58:The food was a little ordinary. Would have liked fresh tomatoes for breakfast not tinned ones.
Review 59:Friendly owners. Clean room. Good supply of tea and coffee. Nice view but did overlook caravan park as well as the hillside.
Review 60:We had some difficulty finding the place driving. We missed the sign passing the place twice and our sat nav didn't help us. Finally saw the sign going back the other direction. We really think you'd benefit from a brighter sign.
Review 61:Friendly owner, helpful, good food and worked to accommodate our vegan diets which was greatly appreciated. Lovely clean rooms with great shower. Quiet. Delicious coffee and we are coffee snobs!
Review 62:Breakfast was a bit limited - no fruit, yoghurt etc. Room was Ok but very small - fine as a single traveller but would be cramped for a couple. Fine for one or two nights, but no space to unpack or hang clothes. As other visitors have noted, the restaurant was closed on Monday nights and it was hard to find somewhere to eat - found one pub serving meals in Abergavenny. A bit stuffy on a very warm night - couldn't have the window fully open without leaving the blind up.
Review 63:Good location - on a main road but not noisy, easy to find and plenty of parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, nicely furnished. Really good effective shower. Evening meal was quite pleasant and reasonable value. Very good value - I used it as a base to visit Hay on Wye, Hereford etc. Would happily recommend it as a base for a night or two in the area.
Review 64:Orange juice- that awful from concentrate stuff! Breakfast was early at a weekend, latest was 9am. Pot of coffee rather than a single cup would have been welcome. Checkout was early- 10am
Review 65:Friendly couple, booked us a taxi. Made us feel welcome. Nice location, convenient for Abergavenny and for hiking. Nice views. Has campsite too. Pub on floor below the rooms. Rooms lovely, v comfortable. Decent toiletries, good supply of towels. Could do with being able to make more than one cup of tea per person. Complimentary bottle of water. Good speed wifi. Good portions of cooked breakfast- average quality.
Review 66:Little bit of noise from outside extractor fan.
Review 67:Warm welcome. Staff were very helpful. Room very clean, modern and tidy. Well equipped. Very good value for money.
Review 68:Lack of power points in room. No choice of cooked breakfast, all just brought out already cooked. Tea bag in a cup at breakfast, a teapot please
Review 69:Lovely large room with everything we needed. Good value evening meal.
Review 70:It's a gem of a place in a good setting. The guest rooms are new, spacious and very well equipped, bed was comfortable and the breakfast (included in the price of the room) first class. I stayed here to break a journey on business but would happily return for a holiday.
