Reviews for Nyx Hotel

Review 1:If I really had to make a complaint, I would say there was no minibar at the room and I think some people would appreciate it.

Review 2:The staff was lovely. The accommodation was incredible, everything seemed new, clean and you could see they put some effort on doing things the better way. The internet worked everywhere and worked really good. I loved that there was a kettle and some teas at the room, it made me feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend it to other people!

Review 3:Pretty small room. And it's slightly more than the advertised 400m from station... especially the TGV bit.

Review 4:Very friendly and helpful check in. Great breakfast. Overall excellent.

Review 5:Area around the hotel closes up early but it feels quite safe walking back late at night.

Review 6:Small, compact room but quite adequate. Close to the train station and the old town.

Review 7:Super helpful and friendly staff who gave good advice re local restaurants and things to see in the old town and the surrounding region. Clean fresh room and an excellent breakfast.

Review 8:Very friendly welcome with great local knowledge of area for restaurant recommendations etc. 5 minutes walk to Railway station and secure parking offered at a reasonable rate. Very comfy bed in nicely decorated room.

Review 9:We got there far too early to book in, we were made welcome with a pot of tea and as soon as it was possible the maid was asked to get our room ready. We could not have breakfast because of an early start, so my partner was given a drink instead. Super hotel, owner and staff wonderful

Review 10:A very nice, modern hotel situated very close to the historic area. We received a warm welcome from the manager. He recommended a good restaurant for dinner. Excellent breakfast!

Review 11:Lovely little hotel, stylish and very clean. An easy walk from the station. Alain and Sophie were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the city. An excellent breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Great value for money.

Review 12:Our only complaint would be the lack of storage in the room, there is a hanging rail but no drawers.

Review 13:Lovely little hotel with very helpful staff, ideal, quiet location.

Review 14:Had difficulty finding the property, we are overseas visitors and it was a bit tricky, illuminated signage might help.

Review 15:The personalised service and staff assistance were exceptional. Nice and quite at night.

Review 16:Everything was good

Review 17:Evelyn and the rest of the staff was very helpful. We feel very comfortable and breakfast was amazing. no doubt that the best thing in this hotel is the personal attention

Review 18:Staff was extremely nice & helpful; room was well equipped and location was excellent. We often stay outside Perpignan because it is cheaper - never again! Was lovely to park the car and walk everywhere - dinner, shopping, touring...all very close to the hotel.

Review 19:The road from the station to the hotel felt a bit run down, but no problems with anyone in the area.

Review 20:Beautiful room with a lovely large terrace to sit on outside out room. We arrived by train and this was on the road directly outside the station and only a 5 minute walk, very convenient. This hotel was just around the corner (about a 5 minute walk) to the centre of town. Hosts were lovely.

Review 21:Very convenient location, close to the train station the town centre & we were upgraded free of charge, Great service from the manager/staff & a very nicely presented breakfast, with an offer of a cooked breakie @ no extra charge.

Review 22:Staff was very friendly and takes really time to help there customers. Although the room looked a bit small it was beautifully designed and very comfortable and clean. I will love to go back next time.

Review 23:Location is a bit grim ("kebab avenue") but then so is Perpignan. Outdoor terraces could do with some night lights and comfy seating. No reception/bar after 7pm.

Review 24:Fantastic staff who went out of their to assist us. Really great.

Review 25:Bathroom needed a rail for the towels by the sink, which I mentioned when we checked out. The room also needed a couple of drawers, as there was nowhere to put small items, like glass, medication etc.. Not serious, but annoying.

Review 26:Fantastic staff, very friendly, very helpful, good location for walking into the town and easy access to the station. Room very quiet, shower excellent.

Review 27:No bad experience - might be nice to have an English speaking TV station

Review 28:This hotel met all of our requirements - we asked for and got a quiet room on the 3rd floor. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless. We found the staff in the hotel friendly and helpful with suggestions and advice when asked. We spent 5 nights in the hotel and would certainly recommend it.

Review 29:The garage was such a nightmare to get into that we parked the car there for the duration of the stay (2 nights). The hotel is very difficult to find by car, not helped by Perpignan's bizarre one-way system.

Review 30:Lovely little boutique hotel in a great position in the centre of town. The staff just fell over themselves to be helpful, great people, especially when we arrived in Perpignan on a hot Sunday afternoon and couldn't find the place and had to 'phone the hotel. The breakfast was excellent value. The rooms were quirky but really comfortable with working air-conditioning. And we got a room with a view which you often don't get when you book ahead.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Situated close to both the station and town centre, and providing an excellent base for exploring the area, this small hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is immaculately clean and very comfortable. The new owners, Alain and Sophie, are both charming and efficient, especially when serving their excellent buffet breakfast, and offering advice on local restaurants and attractions.

Review 33:Nothing was bad

Review 34:Alan and Sophia were amazing. As hotel owners they could not do enough for us. The hotel is ideally located for town and the train station. This hotel is perfect for a group of friends or couples alike. 100%

Review 35:Corridors had bad smell (apparently from outside) and the parking was a short way away from the hotel (still private) and very narrow to get into if you have a wide car.

Review 36:very friendly staff, could not have been more helpful. Location fine, short walk from the old town.

Review 37:If you need to park you need to book well in advance, and you need to bring a very small car -- their garage only holds a few cars and is very hard to get into.

Review 38:Wonderful staff, comfortable room -- we were upgraded to a superior room because they weren't full, so I can't imagine how small the standard room would be because the superior one isn't large, but large enough. Very close to both the train station and the old city, you can easily walk to almost anywhere you would want to within the city.

Review 39:The ladies on the service desk were extremely nice, however their English was not at the highest level; in the end we managed to communicate relatively good.

Review 40:Great boutique hotel. Very new and modern, looks even better than on the photos. We booked a room with a balcony and got big room with a terrace and chairs to chill & suntan. It was on the quiet side, emerged in green so we had our peace. The room itself is spacious, bed extremely comfortable, flat TV with many programs, nice and clean bathroom. Breakfast is the must. There is good range of food between sweet to salty, great breads, coffee, eggs, cakes.. definitively to try. WI-FI worked perfectly. The parking is near the hotel and should be booked in advance. The hotel is 10 min from center and 5 min from the rail station. A place to stay.

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:The staff are excellent - very attentive and really take a pride in the hotel. Our room had a small terrace which was lovely. The hotel appears new inside and is very clean. Room facilities are very good.

Review 43:Good location when visiting city, just a few minutes away from the centre and all of the attractions. Very polite and friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. Car parking close by in a garage, only few places for hotel so you need luck (which I had) All in all, nice little hotel!

Review 44:Room was a bit small for myself, wife and young son and quite expensive for what it was.

Review 45:Convenient for Railway station and city centre. Very friendly staff when we arrived. Nice quiet room.

Review 46:None -all good

Review 47:Most Charming hostess. Relaxed convivial reception. Room was compact but newly restored with nice 'sit out' balcony mod tiled shower room good shower. Pavement cafe seating was an attractive feature. Best of all the steet was calm and quiet !

Review 48:Having to reverse into the very narrow entrance to the garage was challenging. I recommend having someone standing outside the car to assist with the tight clearances.

Review 49:Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very clean with modern decor. Even the room overlooking the street was quiet in the morning. The staff recommended a fish restaurant n the old town which proved to be excellent, with a superb wine list of regional wines.

Review 50:We booked private parking - the entrance to the garage was quite difficult!

Review 51:Excellent friendly staff. We had a lovely terrace, quite unusual for the centre of town. Will recommend.

Review 52:No storage/drawers for clothes. Spa bath in room?!? Typically adventurous parking arrangements.

Review 53:Brilliant staff. Terrace attached to room. Excellent breakfast.

Review 54:This was the smallest room ever. Could barely walk around the bed. Ibis would be a better choice. At night, the hotel is left unguarded. We were given a code to open the outside door. Very unsafe neighborhood.

Review 55:The furnishings were upscale.

Review 56:Bit of a salubrious area and one of the most lethal underground garages I've ever encountered - tight and narrow.

Review 57:Handy for the railway station. Very pleasant staff who seemed genuinely interested. Nice breakfast

Review 58:...if you are coming with a car which is premium size or bigger and if you do not like to reverse in narrow places: try to find a parking place from a street. You really have to reverse into carage!

Review 59:Quite a nice hotel, we had a warm welcome, nice quiet room. Parking place is not too far. We did not have any problems but a little warning for those who are coming by car...

Review 60:The room was small, altho it had everything we needed.

Review 61:Nyx was within walking distance of the train station, and also of Perpignan restaurants and downtown. Staff were warm and friendly.

Review 62:Only real negative is that satellite TV did not have any English language channels, not even CNN or BBC News

Review 63:Room, balcony overlooking street, kettle, tea and coffee in room, breakfast, staff helpfulness and general "can-do" attitude

Review 64:This is an excellent hotel. The friendliness of the staff, their helpfulness, their great organisation means I had a wonderful stay here. The breakfast was delicious with a great range of foods on offer with the English style bacon and eggs cooked on request. There is a bar at the reception and a lovely seating area in the reception with a lovely open view of the street outside. The rooms were immaculate, well laid out and superbly clean. The en suite bathroom was spotless and modern. The staff were always on hand should you have any requests. This was money well spent for the service I received. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff speak English also.

Review 65:A very small, cramped, dark room looking out on to a light well with an enormous, but badly designed, (sit on the loo and your knees hit the wall!) shower room. No one at the hotel after 8pm.

Review 66:Not worth a 9.1 score. The receptionist, Evelyne, took pains to contact us (after our online booking) when we were delayed and arrived after 8pm. The hotel is locked then and she texted the code for entry and left our keys and instructions on the front desk. The hotel is very clean, but we were disappointed after some fabulous reviews to find ourselves in a tiny, dark room. OK for overnight though.

Review 67:great location between the main train station and the town. Great looking up/down the street from your balcony (superior room). Very comfortable bed. Great young lady on the front desk (who spoke good English), gave us some great tips

Review 68:Cleanliness of the hotel and the owners focus on customer care to ensure our stay was enjoyable. breakfast was also well presented and included home made products.

Review 69:I requested parking in advance, but hotel owners responded that parking is impossible and said that it's ok if I cancel reservation. But I didn't have internet and time to find another hotel, so it was big failure for me. I think that rooms are very small if you travel more than 1 person; elevator is small too. While hotel seems to be new enough, the building is pretty old - so you feel 40-years old smoking smell in corridors; overall very narrow corridors. Carpets in room have specific cleaning service smell which is bad for persons with alergy. Location is not far from the very center of the city, but given street seems to be popular among drunk people and people without home on weekend (maybe whole city center is the same? I don't know).

Review 70:Staff is very responcive, hotel is in old atmosphere building. breakfast not bad. Modern rooms interrior. Comfortable beds. Modern bathroom.

Review 71:The couple who run the Hotel Nyx are very charming and helpful. After a hard day of traveling I was offered a welcome free beer (on tap) at check in. They also provided great restaurant recommendations.

Review 72:Special thanks to Allan, who warmly welcomed us after a stormy day, indicating the best restaurant of the trip so far and leading us to the room to make sure we became acquainted with everything. Great shower, clean modern room, great bed. Thank you!

Review 73:It is on quite a busy road but not really a problem

Review 74:Good location only 5 mins walk from shops and bars. I don't know if it had been recently removated but the bedrooms had great decor and a kettle etc in bedroom was a real plus

Review 75:We stayed at the NYX Hotel while attending the rugby match. The hotel is in a quieter part of the town but is within easy walking reach of all the town. The hotel is spotless in all aspects. The staff are lovely and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Our room had a balcony which was nice to have(there is an extra charge for this).Unlike most French Hotels this one provides tea making in the rooms. The rooms are not overly large but the king size beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are small with only a shower. This was a bit of a problem for my tall husband. The deco is easy on the eye. Breakfast is provided in the main space which doubles as a reception and bar area. This works quite well. The bar cannot sell any spirits only beer and wine. We would stay here again!

Review 76:Absolutely nothing.....everything was perfect....

Review 77:The husband and wife owners/managers spoke perfect English and were both extremely helpful with everything from tourist info to restaurants..

Review 78:Staff couldn't be any nicer. The hotel is in a great location for access to the historic centre. The rooms are small but beautiful. The whole hotel is very clean and chic.

Review 79:I booked a private parking spot, but the last spot left was way too small for my car. Unfortunately, I had to leave my car over night with luggage in a public parking, which I wanted to avoid.

Review 80:They do everything to make your stay comfortable

Review 81:Nothing - all was good and easy

Review 82:Location within very easy walking distance between the train station and town, close to good bars and restaurants, comfort, style, balcony! and friendly owners.

Review 83:Decor a little odd (think red, black and shiny cushions) family room actually a smallish double with a sofa bed - but lovely sunny balcony.

Review 84:Really handy for the train and town centre. Good breakfast and lovely staff.

Review 85:We were stopping overnight after travelling from Calais. The staff kindly ensured that we could access the hotel and left our key on reception, as the physical check in had finished. Very pleased.

Review 86:The size of the room

Review 87:Welcoming: very friendly and helpful with advices and tips on what to do. Nice breakfast buffet + cooked breakfast (egg&bacon on request) Location: between the railways station and the city centre (we arrived by train but then rented a car, so perfect location for us)

Review 88:The staff were very helpful, couldn't have done more to make the stay comfortable. The breakfast was very enjoyable and the lady even offered to cook egg and bacon.

Review 89:Bedroom was a little bit squashed because we had a sofa bed made up for the children. But for the price of the room for my whole family it wasn't an issue at all.

Review 90:Staff went out of their way to help us - everything was very easy and we have no complaints at all. I would easily recommend this hotel - close to station and easy walk to town.

Review 91:breakfast too expensive. 9€ each, for that price there a lot to eat and try everywhere in Perpignan

Review 92:Clean, quiet, in the centre of Perpignan few blocks from all attractions few minutes walk from the train station. Staff very friendly.

Review 93:no complaints

Review 94:good clean comfortable hotel well described by other travels short walk to both railway station and town shops and restaurants good breakfast selection with cooked breakfast offered staff spoke English and very helpful with query's i had would stay next time in perpignan

Review 95:Front desk shuts down at 8pm and the lobby is dark. Not very safe and that's too early

Review 96:Clean, modern and trendy. A haven for the area it's in. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed and everything is clean and new. Great breakfast with fresh eggs made for you. Stayed for 6 days and it was a wonderful experience

Review 97:Location (near Le Garianne, my favorite restaurant in Perpignan). Weekend parking (on street) free and pretty easy to find. Great wifi. Friendly and helpful service. Room comfortable and very clean. A great deal!

Review 98:Nothing to dislike.

Review 99:We were upgraded to a superior room which was beatifully decorated and with lovely lighting. The room was still small but very comfortable and we had a large luxury shower room. The lady on reception on Sunday was lovely and very helpful. She recommended a good inexpensive restaurant (Cafe Vienna) where we had a delicious entrecot and dauphinoise potatoes. The walk along the river to the centre is very pleasant.

Review 100:Too small shower (not everyone will fit !) Quite far from historical downtown

Review 101:Great staff, kind & pro Room good size (304) Parking places all around the hotel

Review 102:Nothing!

Review 103:Convenient for the train station and near the bus stop from the airport this modern hotel is very welcoming not far to walk into the old town with good restaurants recommended by the owner. Breakfast was good value for money. Tea, coffee and water in bedroom. Free wi fi.

Review 104:Friendly welcome, good standard of cleanliness, good location 5-10 min easy stroll to the city centre, comfortable room, fantastic breakfast (including freshly prepared bacon and eggs!)

Review 105:Stayed for 5 days in the room with terrace and spa bath. Didn't like the room as backed onto large trees which blocked the light. No open view. Surrounded by the other buildings, washing out, noisy, dog barking. The terrace was shared by other guests 25 metres away. Spa bath was noisy, very lively and kept setting off on it's own unexpectedly without water in it. No room service or facilities from 8 pm onwards. Used code for access. We have health problems and would have been useful not to have to go out every evening and search for a restaurant when not feeling well and very tired.

Review 106:The comfort of the bed. The shower. Helpful staff. Very clean. Cooked breakfast. Location especially good for train station and bus station. The rooms at the front of the hotel had a more open view.

Review 107:Hotel Nyx is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. I loved the decor and the warm welcome we received. I felt really spoiled staying there. I really appreciated the style of the place and the hotel was one of the highlights of our holiday. We had heavy bags and so it was conveniently located between the train station and the centre of town. Stay here. Such a lovely place.

Review 108:Room on the small side!

Review 109:Very friendly, helpful owners/staff. Excellent facilities, including tea/coffee making facilities in room. Good breakfast.

Review 110:Nothing. All was excellent.

Review 111:Air conditioned room . Plenty of window light - well screened by curtains. Excellent friendly reception from the owners who gave us good instructions to restaurants and places to see. Good English spoken . Good double glazing at the windows screened out minor street noise . Coffee milk and tea recharged every day and bed made

Review 112:Rooms are quite small and noise from breakfast room started at 7am - may be unavoidable in a small hotel.

Review 113:Owners very helpful - giving advice on restaurants, places to visit, transport. Rooms are small but well furnished, standard of cleanliness very high. Buffet breakfast was fine, good range of choice.

Review 114:arrived at 9 pm and no one at desk. mmanager did try to call us but no reception on the highway Reserved a parking spot but it was miniscule and difficult to get in and out.

Review 115:very modern decor. manager was great! Perfect recommendations for dinner and patisserie. Had difficulty with reserved parking space so manager did not charge us.

Review 116:Quiet room was next to lift therefore nit as quiet as possible Rooms quite small No facility for English news

Review 117:Cleanliness Reception Breakfast including bacon and eggs Comfort Style Friendliness of proprietors Linen Tea making facilities and hair dryer

Review 118:Friendly very helpful staff. Lovely plentiful breakfast. Clean modern facilities. Quiet air conditioning on a very hot night. Tea, coffee and water provided. Would stay again convenient for both station and old town. Recommendations by hotel of where to eat we're excellent.

Review 119:Wee bit baffling re SatNav but nothing else - would definitely stay again - best nights sleep of our holiday.

Review 120:Very nice owner couple. Possibly the best bed I can remember at this price range. Liked it a great deal.

Review 121:Good location, close proximity to the train station and historic center of the city, very cozy and clean, stuff are very welcoming and nice, gave us useful information and even history on main attractions and directions to them.

Review 122:Room was lovely, but small.

Review 123:Staff was wonderful. You could tell the hotel was a labor of love forthe couple who own it. Rooms were very small, but that's no surprisein cities in Europe (and the us for that matter). Decor modern and chicand well thought-out in terms of scale for the tiny room. Lots ofbreakfast selections. Probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayedin in my life, and I've stayed in many. Our room had a balconyfacing the street, and that was a real bonus in terms of space andatmosphere. The street was lively, but also a bit noisy. But the windowsand door to the balcony were heavy, thick glass and kept the sound atbay very well.

Review 124:This perfect gem of a hotel is located near the train station and a short walk to the old center of Perpignan. The staff are wonderful - contacted us twice prior to our arrival to ensure that we'd know how to get in after hours when they lock the front door. They were kind and attentive, and went out of their way to help us when my luggage did not arrive, even offering to hold it for us if it arrived after our departure. The lobby serves as a breakfast room in the morning where they serve a nice variety of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, juices, tea and coffee - and they also offer to make eggs and bacon if you're so inclined! The hotel room is compact but has everything you need and the beds, unlike many European hotels, are extremely comfortable. I can't say enough about the Nyx -- we will stay there again anytime we are in the vicinity of Perpignan.

Review 125:Reception shuts at 9pm which isn't really a problem unless you arrive late. We were delayed by roadworks and didn't get there until after 8pm. However there is a code on the front door, which you get when you book in, and access at any time is not a problem.

Review 126:- The room was small (all city hotels seem to be in France if they are a reasonable price) but it contained all the necessaries and the decor really suited the room. - The owners were lovely and work very hard to keep up the good standards. They found and returned my hoodie which I left in reception and answered an e-mail query after we left within a few hours. They even let our daughter use the free wifi in reception until we arrived, although she wasn't staying there. They advised on parking and restaurants. - The hotel is on the street straight opposite Perpignan station and convenient for the bus station - great for breaking a journey or an early start. - There's a lift as well as stairs. - Breakfast is extra but is reasonably priced. Extremely good value accommodation.
