Reviews for Citotel Hotel Ker Izel

Review 1:no lift, sloping, low ceiling on top floor - my wife nearly knocked herself out

Review 2:Great location in heart of city, clean & comfortable, good breakfast

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:I loved everything about this hotel.from the minute we arrived. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and efficient. The small swimming pool was a delight . Breakfast was tasty , fresh and plentiful. We will definitely be .back.

Review 5:Cheap and cheerful town hotel with a friendly host. Sadly the weather wasn't good so we couldn't make use of the pool but it is a nice facility to have.

Review 6:Hotel is well situated, near some excellent restaurants and within walking distance of many of the city's sights. The bedroom was quiet, airy, quite adequately furnished and with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good value for money.

Review 7:The room was very comfortable and clean. The owner was very friendly and allowed us to store our bikes in his garage. He recommended a great restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices.

Review 8:Manager keen to help with information on the town, restaurants etc. Horel perfectly located for exploring the old town of St Breiuc. Lovely breakfast

Review 9:For an inexperienced driver, backing up the steep uphill one-way street, and probably under the rain, into a fairly narrow garage door for the "free, private parking" will be somewhat of a challenge.

Review 10:I loved the quiet room; and the enormous buffet-breakfast, with gluten-free and lactose-free products available on request. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful, and had an answer to every question.

Review 11:Staff could not have been more helpful and recommended places to visit on the cote d'Armor. Lovely clean hot shower, excellent breakfast, we would definitely revisit the hotel and recommend it to our friends.

Review 12:Family managed hotel. Very helpful owner who speaks good English. Hotel close to city centre but quiet. Good breakfast. Easy to park in the street but garage available if required.

Review 13:Very good home-base for visit of North Bretagne, ideal position St Brieuc - in the old town, on nice place and well accessible by car. The whole service of Ker Izel is just perfect with own garage, nice, comfortable and cosy rooms, elegant and very clean bathrooms (daily cleaning) and the swimming pool at the terrace. And above all - very friendly and helpful owners.

Review 14:For us Ker Izel in Saint Brieuc is the homebase for our visits of North-East-Bretagne cost (which is the most beautiful). Thank you Eric and Emanuelle for the excellent breakfeast, the clean, nice rooms and "the guide" hoe nows his region.

Review 15:The welcome was warm. Bicycle lockup. Service - the manager even did a load of laundry for us. Town and restaurant information. Spotless rooms. Great beds. Good breakfast.

Review 16:The warm welcome we received on arrival. The lovely clean room. The helpfulness with finding a restaurant to eat at that evening. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 17:Only sorry that we didn't stay longer in Saint Brieuc.

Review 18:Great hotel in charming saint Brieuc. Fantastic charming host who is incredibly helpful. Very comfortable rooms. Great breakfast Free WiFi Hotel with lots of charm

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:The whole service at Hotel Ker Izel is just perfect, from having their own garage for off street parking to the swimming pool at the back of the hotel in it's own suntrap. We stayed for 4 nights and the owners could not be more helpful in pointing us in the right direction for both restaurants and local beaches to go to (Binic is wonderful). The breakfast each morning although buffet style was actually table service. Coffee & Juice brought to you and topped up as requested and the buffet table was sagging with different breads, rolls, jams and cheeses. The hotel has 20 odd rooms but you still get the small guesthouse treatment all the time. The rooms are cleaned each day and the bathrooms very clean and shower very good and powerful. We would certainly recommend this hotel and stay again when next in the area as it has everything you would need from a "small hotel".

Review 21:Excellent welcome by the owner of the hotel. Takes all the time for information and is realy interested in your experience of the region. Good breakfast, only 8€, with newspaper!

Review 22:Central hotel in the old town. As expected the bedrooms were small but the shower rooms were modern with good quality fittings. Proprietors were incredibly helpful with luggage, parking the car and booking a restaurant. Highly recommended for an overnight stop and very good value.

Review 23:They are using a blanket and sheet in bed instead of a duvet. I'm not used to it so it felt strange.

Review 24:Great location in cotes-d'armor if you wish to visit the east and west coast which are beatiful. Not far from Mont Saint-Michel, also a great place to visit. Great staff, friendly and very helpful. Don't need to visit the tourist information, just ask the staff. Room was big and clean. Bathroom was clean and fresh. Breakfast is all vegetarian but not vegan. There are different kind of breads, drinks, applications (to put on bread), yogurt's and fruit deserts. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 25:nothing

Review 60:The owner couldn't have been more helpful - excellent suggestions for our continuing journey along the coast

Review 61:Nothing. Everything was perfect!!!!

Review 62:The hotel owners were very personable, friendly, and helpful . Eric took his time to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It was like being welcomed as family.

Review 63:St Brieuc itself is not on my wish list to re-visit. We used it as an alternative stopover for Roscoff and that worked out perfectly.

Review 64:Ideal location in centre of St Brieuc. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Parking in their own garage. Good selection for breakfast. Lovely room and the whole place was excellently presented.

Review 65:The range of breakfast items was excellent. Owner went out of his way to help us find a route to where we needed to be. Very helpful with parking our van and welcomed our two dogs.

Review 66:The owner of this hotel really does make you fell welcome and is extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Centrally located with spacious private parking, it's an ideal location for an overnight stay or a base for exploring the surrounding area.

Review 67:A proper bath would have been nice but the power shower was good.

Review 68:Very friendly gave advice on where the best places to eat. Have parking close by in a secure garage. We would def stay there again.

Review 69:The owner and all at the hotel were exceptionly kind, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was superb and generous. Location of hotel is very good -right next to the old town and shopping centre but in a quiet one way street. Hotel very clean, rooms are not large but adequate and well presented. Well placed to visit the area or as a stop over for St Malo or Roscoff. Didn't use the pool as it's now January!

Review 70:the rooms are simple but clean and modern

Review 71:very warm welcome. more than happy to try and book a dinner table for us at late notice. had a lovely meal at L'air du temps. hotel quiet and comfortable. able to leave the car in garage there for a night whilst we cycled the cote d'armour tour de manche route whcih was very helpful.

Review 72:The hotel is small, personal and very quiet. The owner arranged everything for us as we were arriving late. Bathrooms were refurbished recently and beds are good. The private touch from the owner definitely makes a difference!

Review 73:On day of visit, tricky to find due to road works and diversions. Car park not locked during daytime.

Review 74:Good location, extremely helpful and informative staff - all round very pleasant place to stay

Review 75:Having to go home!

Review 76:Simple modern décor Helpful owner English spoken Healthy and varied breakfast Quiet even though in central location Only 15mins walk from station

Review 77:Leaving!

Review 78:Owners excellent! Really caring made us feel very welcome and so helpful too. Breakfast excellent and hotel refurbished to a very high standard.

Review 79:Bedroom and storage space quite compact, but worked for us. No lounge area for relaxing in the evenings, but this wouldn't worry everyone.

Review 80:Clean, nicely decorated. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Very convenient to historical centre, shops and restaurants. Covered, secure parking.

Review 81:Nothing. All is perfect.

Review 82:Erik, you are a fantastic profesional, perfect, your help was veryimportant for us. The hotel is excelent the big room and bath very cleanand confortable. No problem parking. We come back sure. Thank you. Yoursspanish friends.

Review 83:The fact that I chose to cycle 60 miles to get there when my wife and friends went in the car, but that was not the fault of the hotel !!! If you are someone who likes to keep yourself to yourself and not engage with others you might find the atmosphere a bit too friendly but I don't imagine that will apply to many people.

Review 84:The owners were so friendly and helpful , they really put themselves out to make our stay pleasant , indulging those of us who were more competent at French and realising that I was a lost cause and sticking to English! For a town centre car parking was easy and there was a garage opposite the hotel for bikes. The room was clean and comfortable , smallish but all we needed. Breakfast was lovely , lots of choice and local produce. Go to the restaurant just down the road , great food , brilliantly cooked and not expensive.

Review 85:We were very impressed by the kindness of the proprietor, who personally guided me to the hotel garage. We appreciated the warm welcome, the excellent recommendation for dinner at a nearby restaurant and the wonderful breakfast with newspapers available the following morning. All in all a first class experience.

Review 86:One day the bathrooms will no doubt be redone. They are functional and clean and this is a 2-star, so perfectly adequate, but...

Review 87:Personal, attentive welcome. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed. Sufficient pressure and hot water in shower. Photos and artwork around the hotel.

Review 88:I have used the Ker Izel for over 25 years and it continues to provideexcellent value for money. Cheerful staff, clean room, reasonablebreakfast and cheap in comparison with its competitors.

Review 89:Nothing bad about the hotel to say. For a family with young children it would be better to stay along the coast (Binic) so the beach is in easy access. No areas in Saint Brieuc to play and run around,

Review 90:The welcome provided by the owners, top notch.

Review 91:The shower room needs a bit of TLC

Review 92:Our room no.13 was very calm and the beds very, very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and of high quality. We would return to this hotel with great pleasure.
