Reviews for The Knave
Review 1:The fact that they are not organized enough to have a credit card machine working or to take my payment from me. because one of the work colleuqe had gone for a lunvh meeting, because of that i couldnt stay over new year which caused alot of trouble with work and i then had to pay a riduclas amount of money to find another hotel last minute because the knave are usless!! it should not even be on booking.com the lady on the phone haas no clue whatshe is talking about. I luckily found a hotel in the end but ended up paying alot of money all because the knae are usless and couldnt take my payment.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Just could do with some replacements/add a few things. Firstly the pillows are way too soft and flat and the duvet it's very thin and small for 2 people, if you change them we would get better sleep. 2, the TV is small and too high up, should lower the TV. 3, the room door makes too much noise when you close it, so they all Defo need fixing. 4, could do with some more kitchen utensils ie knife and chopping board. 5, parking, there is no parking in site so have to park elsewhere maybe you should let us know where about we can park and should park. 6, checkout is too early, especially for a small place and the price (price probably varies) but should atleast consider a later checkout for better value for money. these issues can easily be sorted and if they are I would stay again. The room itself was very clean, can tell it's pretty new. Oh also you should consider changing the pictures on site, as it shows a church but the apartment itself is on the side of the church and not the church itself. It is a nice cosy place, just needs a few things sorted.
Review 4:The place could do with some minor improvements and then it would be perfect. Overall the place itself isn't too bad just need to replace a few things and add a few things. And the place is clean so that's great. Read below!!
Review 5:No toiletries, given the price I would expect this as a minimum No waste bin in the kitchen area No brush for cleaning the floor
Review 6:Easy to find , very good instructions emailed to me.
Review 7:The advertising is very misleading. The apartments are not in the listedbuilding but in a very basic new build annexe. '24/7' phonehelpline didn't pick up. Very cheap finish, cheap bedding, smalluncomfortable bed, barely equipped kitchenette (one glass, one wineglass). No sign on arrival to indicate entrance. Arrival email withcomplex code entry info arrived after I began my trip, so I had no cluehow to gain access, no phone number listed on booking.com or elsewhereon internet. Very poor value for money with no parking (in a fairlydodgy area) nor wifi. I would advise against staying here. If you aredesparate for self catering then maybe, but eating out is very cheaphere and this accommodation is expensive by local standards. Go to theHoliday Inn instead. Free parking, wifi, reception.
Review 8:The location was good, I purposely marked it lower as it was influencingthe overall score.
Review 9:Room for 2 with 1 chair. 1 mug, no glasses so we couldn't both have a drink. Rather frustrating plus the pillows were close to useless.
Review 10:Easy to get into. Nice clean apartment.
Review 11:1.Could nt get in building 2 no shelter from rain 3keycode system not working 4 no answer on phone no 5 padlock for keyroom too small 5 wrong floor given for room
Review 12:Privacy
Review 13:There is no reception so no staff on site and no telephone. No lift. No wifi (especially important for overseas travellers). TV too small. (17 inch screen perched above bed, can only be watched lying down.) Needs a second TV in the kitchen/dining area as TV not visible from there. No garbage bags provided, and you have to take out your own garbage. Only one dining chair in the dining area. Ideally the sofa should be a three-seater for comfort.
Review 14:Very little. Location is great.
Review 15:If you arrive in the dark, take a torch or you will find it hard to access the key pad entry. It took us ages to get in. Travelling for two days before, it had already proved tricky to get the access codes in time. The web image shows the converted church but we were in the new build block next door. Nylon sheets and a thin duvet on a very cold night didn't do it for me. A basic room. With no reception, you're on your own dealing with such things.
Review 16:Not really a bad experience but perhaps a bin in the kitchen and maybe a small microwave?
Review 17:Much better than a hotel room in my opinion. Clean, modern and a little bit different.
Review 18:The duvet and pillow were very thin, not warm and cozy at all.
Review 19:The Code and Key were easy to use to get in. They had left tea and coffee. The room was very clean and a good size for the two of us. Location was perfect for the centre event we were attending.
Review 20:The size they make it look ALOT bigger on the pictures it was pathetic how small it is! Very dissapointed...
Review 21:Liked the area as its right next to the train station
Review 22:Just the bathroom light bulb was broke. Haha We stayed in room 25 :)
Review 23:Easy check in & out. Lovely clean bright apartment. Very spacious & modern. Would defo stay here again!!!
Review 24:For a start, there is no sign posting or clear directions to The Knave itself, I was in the wrong area for ages trying to get in to the wrong building. There was no mention of the fact that were no lift facilities and that I'd be on the second floor. The lighting is shockingly poor in the evenings and if I had been on my own, I would have felt really scared walking through the poorly lit areas next to the car park at the back of the The Knave. This is real security issue for anyone coming back, late at night on their own. My room (21) was right next to the stairwell, so we were subjected to slamming doors all night long. Why aren't there any doors draught excluder/noise reducers around the door jambs? There were no dinner plates or cereal bowls or chopping boards, and there was also no bin for kitchen waste. The boiler kept making noises all night long, surely something can be done to insulate the noise? There was no full length mirror in the apartment and no plug socket for my hair dryer near enough to the bathroom mirror for me to get myself ready when preparing to go out. And the bed felt like it was on the slant so that my feet felt higher than my head. The tv set was positioned in an odd place, it can only be watched from the bed but the angle can't be adjusted to see it from the bed; it can only be moved left to right.
Review 25:The location was excellent for me as I had to visit family in hospital and to conduct some business in Manchester. I would definitely stay again. The room was nicely decorated and with a lovely large window. It was convenient but there are so many small factors that could be adjusted and it would've got five stars from me.
Review 26:A kitchen without any frying pans or cutting utensils and a few pots. Luckily I bring my own knives on my trips but the minimum basics required to cook something were not here. Perfectly fine if you don't want to cook but then again I'm not sure why you would get a self catering apartment if you didn't want a kitchen.
Review 27:Nice apartment, not perfect but very good for the price. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Review 28:I could not get into the first apartment the code given did not work. I had to phone the agents and wait for a reply from another firm. The new apartment code was fine, but I had to hang around for 30 minuets before I was into the room.
Review 29:Easy to find, next to the railway station. Buses and taxis available and easy to find. Good standard of accommodation.
Review 30:Immediate vicinity a little run down. Annex is noisy.
Review 31:Located close to city centre within easy reach of shops and train station. Good rates and room contains all basic amenities.
Review 32:The kitchen was not fully equipped. Pillows were super thin as well. Plus it was cold throughout most of the night. Not sure if I will book again or just go for a hotel instead.
Review 33:Nice enough flat, great location.
Review 34:VERY thin walls (you could hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours and the hallway, we woke up a lot during the night), uncomfortable bed (those were the flattest pillows I've ever had!). This is alright if you only stay a night but I couldn't have stayed there any longer because we could hardly sleep and my back hurt the next day from the mattress! Also, the TV was so high up on the wall, that when you lay in bed you couldn't see anything. A few more kitchen utensils (there were 2 plates and glasses but not even a pan to make breakfast, which is a shame because the apartment has an oven, but how would you use it if you didn't bring your own kitchenware...!) and a hairdryer would have been nice. Also, unfortunately we got only one set of towels for 2 people.
Review 35:Location is great and easy to find, there is a supermarket and the train station right across the street. The property is easy to find and access, the key codes worked perfectly. The room was very clean and spacious (although a bit dark because there wasn't much daylight) and having a kitchen and lounge area was definitely a plus.
Review 36:The boiler provided barely enough hot water for two people to shower and get ready.
Review 37:The accommodation is basic but offers some of the comforts you wouldn't get from a hotel. having a fridge and basic cooking utensils are handy.
Review 38:No bin in kitchen and a bag full of rubbish was left in the cupboard in the kitchen. There was no ironing board and iron or parking.
Review 39:Cleanliness and space.
Review 40:There is no reception anywhere. Pin codes and directions on entry into the building are sent via Email but nothing worked with the codes sent. We and another couple had to search for telephone contact details of someone to help us gain entry in to the building. The apartment/bedsit is tiny, my own bedroom is larger. 2 small cups, one bowl, 3 pans and a couple of items of cuttlery. It would be impossible to cook food in the apartment. View of rubbish dumped at the back of the building, 2 linoloium floorings appeared overnight. Tiny TV mounted way too high to view the screen.TV can't be viewed from the sofa.
Review 41:good location of the building if you are travelling via train or bus. lovely looking building, nicely decorated and well laid out floor plan.
Review 42:No staff on site and key code sent was wrong, only managed to get in due to luck of another guest with the right code trying to enter property at the same time. Recieved a message after having stayed saying they didn't take AmEx (sounds dodgy how come my booking was accepted by Booking.com?)
Review 43:Location was good
Review 44:No parking on site, had to pay on meter yo park outside. I was on top floor no lift so had 7 flights of stairs to climb with luggage and that meant 2 trips 4 x 7= 28 flights. The neighbours were loud. Also had screaming kids on the floor below me. Could not see the little 15 inch TV that was above the bed, no tt on it so it had a shadow effect when led down could not see the tv from the lounge as there was a partition in the way. Ran out of hot water 3 times even though I was not there during the day so I had not used any water and then had to wait for the boost button to kick in hence 3 cold showers.
Review 45:The location was very good
Review 46:No WiFi No lift - I was on the 4th floor having to carry my suitcase up a very steep staircase No iron or ironing board
Review 47:Very clean and pristine and everything was brand new. Seemed as I was the first to stay in the room as I could smell grout on the tiles as I showered!
Review 48:No bin. Toilet seat wonky. Can't see to from bed or lounge. No extra toiletries or toilet roll
Review 49:Nice convinient apartment
Review 50:N/a
Review 51:Nice clean accommodation. Smaller than expected. Great location.
Review 52:No hair dryer
Review 53:Parking in the area can be an issue and no parking with the apartment
Review 54:Nice clean little apartments, very close to the town centre
Review 55:Pillows useless
Review 56:Location very clean
Review 57:The bed was squashed between wall and shelf and had no space at the end to hang off your feet.
Review 58:Convenient location and clean
Review 59:Extremely clean lovely apartment ideal for an over night stay would have preferred TV in lounge area to the bed but no all good
Review 60:Great location and one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed in.
Review 61:No coffee or milk noise of train station
Review 62:The style of the property
Review 63:Central location. Access to local supermarkets. Nearby car parking. Very clean apartment, secure and great for an overnight stay.
Review 64:Noisy at night and too warm in the room as it had a massive immersion heater in there.
Review 65:Handy place for a weekend. Very clean and tidy.
Review 66:Was very clean and very nicely done
Review 67:No tv, not a showstopper.
