Reviews for Tramways Hotel
Review 1:No breakfast, no easy access, having to phone every time meant that one could not pop out to buy a paper, or a breakfast easily. Very inconvenient. Only 2 coffee sachets in room.
Review 2:Night manager was wonderful.
Review 3:The car parking the people going to the mosque and shops blocks the way would be better if there where doble yellow lines on the oposit side of the road
Review 4:I liked the way the staff treated me thay was so helpful to me
Review 5:we had 1 set of keys between 3 people and we tried to get in at 5.30 -6.00 am on Wednesday there was no one available to open the door we rang the numbers which were on the doors mobile going to voicemail and no one answers the other phone we were stuck outside luckily I had my car keys and had to sleep in the car until someone opened this all must be on cctv.
Review 6:The 1st thing we had to do was ring to get in,then was told by thefemale member of staff I was lucky it wasn't 8pm as she was goinghome then, booking.come price £25 hotel price when I arrived £35,picturesshow a bar area on booking.com......yes there is a bar area but Iwasn't stocked bar was dirty and empty and locked, bed held togetherwith selotape
Review 7:Offered breakfast when booking but didn't have the facility and was charged an extra £5 than what we booked for. Also no bar facilities
Review 8:Location staff were friendly
Review 9:Not ensuite. Someone called the ambulance at 2 am to an empty room. They were banging on the door for hours thinking there's someone vulnerable in the room.
Review 10:Over all clean
Review 11:My only real complaint was that the room was very noisy from traffic outside.
Review 12:Friendly staff, very clean & nicely decorated. In room coffee. Room very nice. Staffed 24 hours per day. Excellent room rate
Review 13:Entry through the back door and car park where other 'guests' were drinking and hanging around. At night there was a lot of commotion and noise that continued well into the early hours of the following morning. A local called it a 'doss house' and i could see why by the nature of the other people staying there- drunks and unemployed. The shared bathroom and toilet didn't instill a sense of safety as the locks were flimsy and as such I would not recommend using them later in the evening as the resident long term guests wandered about drunk and confrontational.
Review 14:It is cheap and the room was small.
Review 15:no mirror in room it was really small... came for a wedding and there was no long mirror just a small one shared bathroom was OK! as the corridors smelt of smoke. we explained we had a four year old with us and room was so small hardly had space to get ready! camp bed was provided however at an extra charge which was disappointing!
Review 16:Gemma was nice
Review 17:A bit of a walk from train station. But will be very quick if we took taxi.
Review 18:Toilets and bathrooms are very clean and spatial. Staff are all very nice. :)
Review 19:Area was very rough. Parking is limited. No food or drink facilities available.
Review 20:Room was clean and cheap. Toilet and shower nearby. Free wifi. Plenty power points and a microwave and kettle in room.
Review 21:Late check in & early check out times listed on site but we were able to check in earlier & checked out a little late too.
Review 22:Didn't really spend much time in the hotel as was over in Bolton for a friends wedding. Bed was comfy enough though.
Review 23:Its is overall very noisy - you can hear your neighbours and also the noise from the street, all day, all night. The room was very basic and small and the bed very uncomfortable. The shared bathrooms are made very cheaply and are not very clean.
Review 24:The staff were nice, wifi free.
Review 25:Room was very basic, could have done with a shelf to put drinks & other stuff. Only 2 plug sockets for tv, kettle & lamp, so using laptop, tablet & phone chargers was a big issue.
Review 26:The staff were exceedingly accommodating & the room was very clean. Continental breakfast was reasonable.
Review 27:Only one thing. I paid £4 for a continental breakfast, the person on reception brought to my room 1x 200ml Orange carton (Aldi) and 2x chocolate bread buns (3 inches long). This was brought at 7.50am so I don't think I missed breakfast, seemed over priced in that department and was the hotels only poor performance.
Review 28:Late booking, hotel rang me to advise I shouldn't have been able to book as they had cancelled the web page booing facility but that the owner would come to the hotel and meet me personally. The owner even gave me there phone number so I could remain in contact. On arrival the owner checked me in within mins, my rook was room 2 on the first floor, small but with a double bed that was very confortable, with excellent wifi facilities. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room and towels were provided free of charge. The bath room is shared but very clean and exceptionally large and spacious. There was no noise from any other guests, the only noise was from the traffic outside but this was minimal and not something the hotel can fix, although the windows do keep the noise out. I have stayed here before and will stay here again, for the price it is exceptional value. You usually get what you pay for but at the tramways I felt I got more! 5 stars!
Review 29:Poor breakfast.Asked for a bedroom for 3, got a very small bedroom with 2 single beds and a very uncomfortable camp bed with no bedding. No ensuite facilities.Noisy as it accommodates DSS families.

Review 78:the staff person karen, thank you karen.
Review 79:I specifically stated I wanted a room with wifi - it turned out theyhadnt paid their bt broadband bill and so had no wifi in hotel! It wastoo late to find somewhere else. The area is predominantly an asian areawith most of the women in that area wearing burkhas which I findintimidating
Review 80:Staff friendly
Review 81:It stated the room would have a bunk bed and a double bed, but instead there were four single beds, which made the room a bit cramped.
Review 82:The staff were really helpful, the added extras, books to read for the children, pool table, were great for the family. It was excellent value for money, and within easy access to Manchester.
Review 83:The staff were so friendly and helpful, and couldn't have done more to ensure I had a comfortable stay. The hotel is decorated to a high standard and is spotlessly clean, even the shared bathrooms. Great value for money and lovely place.
Review 84:There was a mix up with our booking to begin with. Firstly they were not sure if we had booked with them at all and once we clarified that we had they said we hadn't paid. This meant we then had to show our bank statement on our phone to prove we had. That night the neighbour to our bedroom had their TV on very loudly until 2am. The walls were paper thin and we could hear every conversation, every noise that was made. We had enough and eventually banged on their wall and asked them to keep the noise down. It is a budget hotel and I wasn't expecting much when I booked it, but I did think I would be able to get some sleep at least, but no. There were also no curtains in the bedroom, just some flimsy blinds letting every cars headlights shine into the room up as they drove past. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, next time I think I'll pay a little bit more to enjoy a good nights sleep.
Review 85:The appearance of the room was nice. We were provided with tea and coffee facilities, a sink and a TV.
Review 86:- Area wasn't the nicest - Was quite a hot time of year so we slept with windows open and the noise from the streets was very loud - slept poorly
Review 87:- Cheap accommodation - Has its own bar - Rooms were clean and tidy
Review 88:Shared toilet had no soap or towels/dryer. Hubby's bed was extremely squeaky. Our room was at the front and we were woken by a v loud motorbike in middle of the night. Car park was full it only had approx 6 places. So we had to park on the street
Review 89:The one member of staff who looked after us was lovely, attentive and v good with our 6 yr old son. It was v clean and well maintained. If you want budget/basic this fits the bill. Couldn't fault the staff he was lovely!
Review 90:I booked a twin bedded room for myself and my daughter but got a room with a double bed and a very small camp bed. It was extremely noisy but not the fault of the hotel just the location. It was also extremely hot.
Review 91:Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable cost. Good location as I was going to The University of Bolton for a degree ceremony.
Review 92:We had a few (tightly budgeted) days to spend in Manchester/Liverpool and so Tramways Hotel and Bolton in general were an ideal choice — almost half the price of hotels in the bigger cities and a very good transport link to both of them.
Review 93:No restaurant as decribed No bar No Breakfast In a run down area of bolton booked for two nights only stated one very noisy from locals youths Not reccomentded could become better when fully open
Review 94:The Price
Review 95:Only limited continental breakfast and no cooked breakfast.
Review 96:All the staff without exception, were wonderful! Excellent large shower rooms. It was a modern guesthouse. The decor was light and airy. Tea and coffee making facilities and TV. Guest parking facilities available. I would stay there again.
Review 97:No Beer on Tap. Ensuite is a small sink you have to share showers. Breakfast was not explained at all as owner not at the premises. Parking was dodgey. Very busy main road
