Reviews for Manoir Ker - Huella
Review 1:Cycling up the hills in Morlaix!!!
Review 2:The friendliness and helpfulness of the managers. Nothing was too much trouble for then. Secure parking for bicycles.
Review 3:Couldn't get WiFi. Not too much of a problem as we were only there for one night.
Review 4:Lovely place to stay with private parking.Nice large room with views over the garden. Easy walk down to the town. Lovely breakfast.
Review 5:This was a perfect stay in a beautiful house. A creaking wooden spiral staircase leads to large airy rooms with a lovely view. Breakfast is more than you can eat, lovely fresh and very Britanique. The house is very central in the interesting town but in it's own oasis of a park, feeling like a step back in time. Amazing value for money.
Review 6:Would have liked more pillows but other than that everything was great
Review 7:Beautiful building & gardens (& goats!)Lovely, friendly host, greatly accommodating of our 20 month old baby.Lovely breakfast even had pancakes one morning.Blackout shutters so the early sun didn't disturb us. Quiet location but near the town.off street free parking.
Review 8:You must be very able bodied to carry your suitcases across the gravel yard and up the two flights of the spiral staircase.
Review 9:We really enjoyed the personal touches of our host Myriam. The Manior was located very close to the Morlaix train station. Walk around the foot path to the left, past the station parking annex to her secluded side gate. Breakfast was intimate and delicious.
Review 10:The room was not serviced on our second day. No milk for tea making facillity. The walk back from the town is all uphill.
Review 11:It was in a secluded area with no parking problems. Tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was very good just about right.
Review 12:Shame you cannot access property before 6.00pm. We arrived in Morlaix just after 4.00pm on a cold drizzly day. We would have liked to be able to access earlier so we could change out of our cycling clothes. OK if you have a car to sit in.
Review 13:Fantastic manor house full of antiques. Felt like Rapunzel going upto the turret. Very close to the railway station so stayed here having caught train back from South at end of cycle holiday.
Review 14:Wifi patchy in our room. Check in is quite late.
Review 15:Location was beautiful and the house had lots of character. Owner was friendly and the town wasn't very far away albeit uphill.
Review 16:Loved the whole experience
Review 17:The Amazing building and grounds and the very friendly helpful and charming owners. Being just away from the very centre of town on a hillside with amazing views, but having easy access to the town and harbour in a ten minute walk down quite a few steps. If you don't fancy the steps passing the beautiful viaduct then you can of course drive the 5 minutes into town where there are plenty of parking spaces even in high season.
Review 18:Wifi. Toilet. Bathroom. Baño. Far away from the city center. Lejos delcentro. Tres loin de la ville. Check in 18!!!!!!!
Review 19:Bed. Breakfast. Lit. Petit déjeuner. Cama. Desayuno.
Review 20:Personality of owners; gardens; architecture; internal decor & structure; echoes of lesser bourgoise family grandeur; proximity to Morlaix centre-ville.
Review 21:No bath The fact that check in time was so limited to two hours from 18 to 20:00
Review 22:The spacious room and shower room, the lovely grounds, convenience to the rail station
Review 23:The decor is a bit funky but to each his own.
Review 24:Close proximity to train station and yet very quiet. This location will only get better with the planned upgrades to the access to the train station. The hosts were most accommodating to our accidentally early arrival and our bicycles.
Review 25:Not being able to book into the Manoir until 1800 on arrival day. Very steep walk down (approx 200 metres) to the town along a partially lit alley, through an underpass and back. Trains passing through the main railway station nearby (50 metres).
Review 26:The old manor house
Review 27:The fact that we couldn't get into our room before 6pm was an irritant. The owners were laying new gravel over the entire drive while we were there which made moving around outside difficult. Although the old building is great we felt like intruders in a private home and not relaxed at all.
Review 28:A fantastic old building.
Review 29:Rather a lot of beautiful wooden stairs!
Review 30:A very characterful & interesting house in lovely grounds. The owners looked after us very well. A big plus was the comfortable bed.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:Quietness , rural, although the town was below. Ideally you would need transport. We liked the animals, goats, hens, and cats. The people were helpful .
Review 33:Very friendly hosts with an interest in the property and our visit
Review 34:Very poor internet
Review 35:Some of staff friendly and helpful
Review 36:Taxi to town when raining, umbrella loan would have been welcomed
Review 37:Lovely accommodation, lovely breakfast, friendly welcome and stay.
Review 38:A beautiful hotel in a great location, with helpful hosts.
Review 39:No TV or wifi in room
Review 40:Beautiful building
Review 41:A very long way from any restaurant, down a long steep hill. We had to park outside the walls in the road.
Review 42:The building and the conservatory.
Review 43:Lovely place Didn't have breakfast as was leaving very early to catch ferry
Review 44:The property was beautiful and very clean. The decor was wonderful! Miriam was very welcoming. The town was a short walk away.
Review 45:Magnificent hosts, charming room, great location.
Review 46:I didn't think I would be able to afford to stay in somewhere so magical. We just stayed in the room all afternoon on arrival. It was fab!
Review 47:No problems
Review 48:Well received by the housekeeper Fascinating room in Oriental fashion Very good French breakfast
Review 49:Liked everything
Review 50:Just the whole experience of staying in such a lovely historical house
Review 51:The manoir was absolutely beautiful. The setting superb. The owner was friendly and breakfast was lovely
Review 52:About 100 steps up from the main street.
Review 53:Really good atmosphere. Interesting history and construction. Excellent breakfast.
Review 54:Muy amables los propietarios, muy bonito lugar
Review 55:we had a very short stay but were made welcome. the property was unique and I would have loved to stay longer to get to know more about it
Review 56:Arrival only after 6 PM
Review 57:Delightful chateau with many fascinating features and décor. Comfortable room, well stocked with extras. VG continental style breakfast. Friendly owner. Short walk into town for dinner. A great final night in a real home rather than an impersonal hotel.
Review 58:The place being full of dolls could be spooky for some. The creaking front door and wonderful spiral wooden stairs plus the medieval bunch of keys had an element of the 'homebodies' - hence it being quirky but nevertheless quite OK. The heavy blankets on the bed should have been replaced by a more comfortable and up-to-date duvet.
Review 59:It was a quirky place but great location - it had features that made the stay memorable if somewhat unusual - my wife and I liked it but it may not be to everyone's taste. The hosts were very friendly and the view from the room over Morlaix was great and it was a short walk -albeit down countless steps to the centre. Breakfast around a large communal table was good.
Review 60:Really beautiful place in Bretagne, very friendly host, beautiful decoration & the owners gave us a very good visit with history of their manoir, excellent "petit-dejeuner" too. And we went out for dinner and they were really trusty to let us use the keys & gate of the manoir. We highly recommend everyone to go there.
Review 61:We have had uncomfortable dusty, dark with out light, room. Lot ofround wooden stairs to step up without owners help. No map of the townto essist.
Review 62:The house shape as an old castle. The Garden (and Oscar the dog)
Review 63:Nothing it was a real treat.
Review 64:The welcome and the lovely cosmopolitan atmosphere at breakfast. It wasas if you were staying in a National Trust property where you were acherished guest. Think Downton Abbey or Castle Drogo on a smaller scale.
Review 65:A sympathetic style update of curtains and bedding would go some way to freshening up this wonderful home.
Review 66:A delightful manor that has not moved very far forward from its own era. Some may find this like staying in a museum but the host is welcoming and it is certainly an experience.
Review 67:Amazing staircase and quirky antique decor. Lovely host and breakfast. A lovely place with soon much character, a great little find. Easy to walk to town square with restaurants (up hill on way back).
Review 68:Even after seeing pictures of the Manor, the experience of staying here was way beyond our expectations. The host has a keen eye for detail in the 19th century house. It is a very calm and quiet place to stay; in a park, with pets (hi Oscar!), and a luxurious breakfast with homemade pies every morning. We highly recommend the Manor and we will surely come back.
Review 69:not being able to check in until 18.00, I would have loved to have had more time there.
Review 70:wonderful ambience, eclectic decor and welcoming host. lovely rooms, delicious breakfast.
Review 71:The place looks more like a museum than like a hotel. If you want to know how it felt living at the begining of 1900 it's a great place. The doors didn't shut properly, no tv on the room, no blinds on the windows, decoration.... that's a point apart: old dolls everywhere, old nightgowns hanging on the walls... Enough to say that we almost run away.
Review 72:The building and surroundings are really beautiful.
Review 73:It was a bit strange.... Stuffed badger in the hallway, witches on broomsticks suspended from the ceiling. Cool and detached hosts. Hard to put your finger on. Not unpleasant, just a bit weird.
Review 74:Lovely building. Good breakfast.
Review 75:Could not check-in before 6 pm.
Review 76:Interesting small manor house with lovely wooden spiral staircase. Quiet setting, yet easy walking access to the town centre of Morlaix. On site parking.
Review 77:Not being critical but constructive.... 6.00pm a bit late to book in, would have preferred earlier. Not a good reading light in bedroom, and you need reading materials as there is no TV... bonus!
Review 78:Beautiful building, very hospitable staff, a really enjoyable experience.
Review 79:Its a long walk back up from the town after going out to eat and would be not so agreeable in bad weather. Also town centre not well signposted.
Review 80:Stunning building both inside and out. Beautiful carved wood staircase, etc. Coffee making facilities in the room. Charming welcome.
Review 81:Location of hotel was very good, just a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Review 82:Character Friendly host Garden Animals
Review 83:décor quietness location helpfulness of the proprietor
Review 84:No access befor 1800hrs
Review 85:Unique situation and easy access to town ,port.
Review 86:Friendly welcoming host and our themed room together with the wonderful breakfast and great location made for a most enjoyable stay
Review 87:Not being able to check in until 6. No curtains on the window so woke very early.
