Reviews for Domaine de Verchant Relais & Châteaux
Review 1:The restaurant was overpriced and took FOREVER.
Review 2:Great location near Montpellier right on the vineyard. Nicely decorated, spacious and clean room. Friendly staff. Used the spa for free as a hotel guest - awesome. Free tasting with the hotel's sommelier.
Review 3:€35 for breakfast is a bit expensive especially for a family of five and charging €4 euros for each coffee pod in your room is just outrageous.
Review 4:A perfect tranquil location, lovely interesting rooms and the private pool for hotel guest is extremely relaxing. Service in the bistro was first class.
Review 5:The food at the main hotel restaurant was not quite up to standard.
Review 6:Great hotel with nice rooms and friendly staff. Superb pool area and good Sunday brunch.
Review 7:Beautiful surroundings, lovely comfortable room and the facilities were first class. The staff were fantastic. The food was lovely and the swimming pool area very luxurious
Review 8:Wi fi very ordinary, have to log on continuously, drops out regularly. Pretty pricey.
Review 9:Great gym facilities, pool and spa. Fantastic staff. Excellent meals in their bistro restaurant. Entertainment Thursday nights. Good local Verchant wines. Terrific beds and pillows.
Review 10:Given recent address changes we had a difficult time finding the Chateaux. The address on bookings.com was not correct. Took about an hour of driving around to accidentally find the right drive way.
Review 11:Domaine de Verchant Relais & Châteaux was a real treat and by far the positive turning point to a holiday gone wrong. The grounds, the staff, our accommodation and the food were all of superior quality. (I do not know enough superlatives.)
Review 12:Slow wifi; no free water; no milk in room for coffees; no kettle or tea maker. Stingy on bath supplies. Limited menu in brasserie. Limited welcome fruit. Spa had no lockers.
Review 13:Pool area and brasserie; vineyards; relaxing atmosphere; rooms (though some items pretty but not effectively functional); decor; settee; separate walk in closet and office. Spa Facilities excellent. Architecture; stone walls.
Review 14:You'll need a navigation system to find it initially, not so bad once you've located it.
Review 15:The facilities are very high quality. The property includes vineyards as well as a lovely spa. Very attentive staff and a very high-end hotel - probably the best in this part of Languedoc.
Review 16:Nothing, maybe a little more light in the bedroom
Review 17:This was just a wonderful experience which we have not stopped telling our friends about! The "surprise" menu was a real treat and the decor was a feast to the eyes with its diversity and excitement.
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:The owner greeted us, the staff were very efficient and charming. Nothing was too much trouble and the room service amongst the best in the world!
Review 20:Insect bites - I suppose that's par for the course in SW France but we caught a few in our room. Food is very good but the menu is only changed weekly, so after 3 days max you've pretty much done it all if you eat there and the restaurants and sights in the historic quarter of Montpellier are a taxi-ride away.
Review 21:Quiet, relaxing and elegant hotel with good facilities. Particularly liked the outdoor pool and tennis but also the fact it is a small hotel. A great place to chill-out. The staff were very helpful and service was excellent.
Review 22:room was on 4th floor with no lift. take us 2 hour to find the hotel as the postcode on booking.com was incorrect!
Review 23:Room and restaurant were exceptional
Review 24:Food too fancy Few simpler choices Couldn't walk to any nearby village or restaurant. Had to take taxi.
Review 25:Pool setting Service Bedroom Terrace from bedroom
Review 26:Practically nothing... A bit more info for using the airco in the room would be helpful. Sauna was sometimes too high in temperature...
Review 27:Very nice modern room, friendly staff, nice swimming pool and garden exterior, beatiful spa and good, not to expensive wines from own vineyard. Perfect breakfast and very nice surprise diner/menu for 60 € in the restaurant. We will come back here! Only 15 km from Maguelone beach...
Review 28:The very limited menu- fine if you only stay one night but they are not set up for longer stays. Also fine dining which was great but the option of a salad- at least at lunchtime would have been very welcome
Review 29:Wonderful grounds, pleasant staff great decor good food
Review 30:Our experience was amazing, the design, gardens & staff were all exceptional. We didn't get the chance to use the Spa but heard it is very good too. The General Manager of the hotel went out of his way to make us feel quite welcome. We would love to go back, it was unforgettable...
Review 31:Lack of service for eg tea or coffee during the day.
Review 32:Designer furniture and decor.
Review 33:The spa!!
Review 34:The hotel offers the comfort und amenities one would expect from a 5 star hotel of the relais & chateau group
Review 35:one unhelpful staff member
Review 36:new plage
Review 37:V comfortable hotel, excellent food - liked the beach club concept - nice vibe
Review 38:La Plage
Review 39:Slow service in bar.Very slippy pool. Stairs to room!
Review 40:Overall room.Room service. Dinner at night.Drinks on terrace. Wines from their vineyard.
Review 41:The spot is wonderful with a beautifull garden. Sitting in the park for breakfast was the best Thing.
Review 42:Nothing!!
Review 43:Very relaxing stay with easy reach of Montpellier.
Review 44:We worked up an appetite in the pool for the Menu Surprise later. A brilliant experience!
Review 45:The hotel and self catering apartments are of an excellent standard.
Review 46:Beautiful room with Jacuzzi bath
Review 47:Nothing much to dislike.
Review 48:The food was excellent and very good service. Hotel was in a beautiful grounds wine from it's own vineyard.
Review 49:The staff were welcoming and attentive.
Review 50:This stunning hotel was impressive from start to finish! The surrounding grounds, the divine rooms, the service, restaurant, wines, etc
Review 51:nothing
Review 52:everything
Review 53:Beautiful hotel and grounds, good location, excellent food, staff helpful and friendly, a truly relaxing stay.
Review 54:The ambience is great. The staff are friendly and attentive and the rooms are wonderful.
Review 55:Everything - amazing atmosphere, the best of modern chic and traditional - beautiful, comfortable beds.
Review 56:Can't think of anything!
Review 57:It was absolutely gorgeous, even in the crumby weather. The room was amazing–the experience was pure luxury. The food at the restaurant was delicious and creative. Highly recommend!
Review 58:Being charged for coffee capsules in the room is a bit annoying.
Review 59:A fabulous hotel which is very hard to fault at all....in fact I can't. Location is very convenient for Montpellier and airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 60:Big function location - something on every day in the spa which was notreally available although I understand we could have paid 20 euros perperson per day to use facilities - but not during the period we stayed!
Review 61:Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting with impressive gardens and spa.Delicious food - the cep starter I had was extraordinary! Great service.
Review 62:Price for rooms is on the high side, and it is a "working" vineyard/seminar/conference venue so the sense of relaxation is limited. 25 euros pp for breakfast is extortionate and what they offer should be inc in bedroom price.
Review 63:Beautiful surroundings. Incredibly comfortable bed. Friendly and approachable staff. Immaculately kept grounds.
Review 64:For $500 a night, I'd expect breakfast to be included.
Review 65:Everything about this place is deluxe. As soon as we got there, they took care of everything, including a room upgrade. Even having to change the reservation just 10 days before was not a problem.
Review 66:The price of the coffee into the room ( 3€) for a nespresso ... I have épay for a bottle of water I have never ordered .. Some details that areirritating for this kind of Luxury hotel ..We can pay a little bit moreand having water and coffee included ....
Review 67:Difficulty finding the hotel - poor directions on the web-site. I havecoeliac disease (cannot eat wheat - gluten-free diet needed) and thechoices available to me were limited, more flexibility needed in yourmenu options.
Review 68:The setting - beautiful Restaurant superb Pleasant room
Review 69:With the room price I expected that some services would be included but in fact everything is chargeable (breakfast 25€/pers, spa 20€/pers, even the coffee 3€, etc. )
Review 70:Staff very friendly and helpful. Room is very clean, comfortable and fully equipped with IT systems. Excellent decoration and style. Very nice spa and great service. Will definitely come back :)
Review 71:- No elevator so had to carry baby stroller every time to go up/down. - Room service staff entered the room for cleaning while we were away even though we had (Don't Disturb) sign, we came back from breakfast to pick our things and leave for a trip outside the hotel and we found her in, we had to wait for her to finish. - We wish if the room rates had (breakfast) as an included item, the hotel price was already high. - Toilet is connected to the room with a glass door with a big gap from it is upper and lower side.
Review 72:- Garden of the hotel. - a lot of parking spaces. - Good spa services. - Good location, away from the city center for relaxation. - Hotel manager was always asking if there is anything that he can assist us with whenever we see him in the reception. - High tech light and curtains control in the room.
Review 73:We loved this hotel. The Deluxe room was huge and beautiful. The design and decore are of a very high quality. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. And miss out on a spa visit. There a plenty of free and safe parking and you don't even realise that you're in a city - it has a country feel to it.
Review 74:I have seen hundreds of hotels, this one belongs for sure to the top ten. And a lot of technic: three TV's, computer, printer, coffeemaker. Also a bottle of free wine, fresh fruits etc. Close by is a hiking park. I wish I have had more time for this place and I also wish I had read all then facilities before going to this place. But next time...
Review 75:Staff a little bit "insecure", but very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was sometimes not very fast, and it is annoying having to log into the system every day and sometimes more often than that. Also, paying extra for the spa is always a bit cheesy - granted we got the rooms for a good price, but the spa, the basic use of it, should be included. Other than that the hotel was perfect.
Review 76:Brilliant hotel. Great rooms, beds. Food. Location, that is being this close to Montpellier and still out in the middle of nowhere. Just a very nice, luxurious hotel.
Review 77:Superb hotel, with young and enthousiastic staff. Very friendly andhelpfull. The room with terras was great (if you love design). Loved therestaurant. Everything they served was fantastic. The only negativepoint is the swimming pool accomodation. Rather small relaxation areawith no parasols and directly located next to the restaurant terras. Notcheap but we found it every penny worth !
Review 78:Strange mix of business and holiday guests meant loungers by pool and smartly dressed diners in a small space. Staff only interested in serving you in restaurant. Breakfast not good enough for 25 euros. Coffee machine in room- yes- but 3 euros a pod! Everything is extra which on top of the room rate bought the value down for me.
Review 79:Comfort and luxury
Review 80:We loved the interior of the hotel. The rooms were contemporary but luxurious at the same time in an understated way. Also the fact that the airport is only 10 minutes away is a big plus. The hotel is currently quite small and very personable which was another reason that we chose it - hopefully it won't become too big in the future. The Spa was fabulous and the food was faultless with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their own wine was excellent too.
Review 81:A very nice countryside south of France hotel , one of the best hotelsI've been to 5 stars staff who make you feel in home and amazing spa , Ihope I'll come there again .
Review 82:Amazing. Would highly recommend to anybody seeking tranquility and excellent service
Review 83:Everything, the location, the staff, the food was exceptional. We had the terrace room, worth paying the extra.
Review 84:Beautiful grounds. Great room. Amazing food and brilliant service.
Review 85:This hotel was 5 star luxury at its best. I have states at some good 5 star hotels however this one takes some beating.
Review 86:Everything: staff, location, food, equipments, room.
Review 87:Best restaurant in area! Brilliant food.
Review 88:Excellent hotel to relax and unwind.
Review 89:Very hard to find
Review 90:The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing
