Reviews for Citotel Hôtel le Bord'O
Review 1:Can't really give it any bad marks. There was a little bit of late night reveller's noise in the street but not enough to keep you awake. Did have any tea/coffee making facilities but ask and you will be pleasantly surprised (only the hot water jug is provided so be prepared.)
Review 2:Everything really. The room is small but extremely well designed to maximise the space. Relatively modern with clean, newish furnishings and bathroom. Lots of shelf space for your endless possessions. Great location - walking distance to train station, port, shops and restaurants. The hotel also has a highly recommended restaurant (independently owned) within the building. La Rochelle was surprisingly interesting and well worth a visit.
Review 3:Could hear people on upper floor using the shower and toilet. Perhaps sound proofing would solve this problem.
Review 4:Location ideal for shopping and restaurants. Also for attractions i.e museums etc Easy parking.
Review 5:Extra bed was not comfortable
Review 6:Location and staff Neat hotel. Just next are shops convenient store open till late. Good Italian restaurant just opposite. Very close to old port and attractions Parking is not that far. Not bad
Review 7:Facilities limited in the hotel but everything you could want is close by.
Review 8:Close to restaurants, bars and the harbour but far enough away to get some peace.
Review 9:If private parking is a priority to you be aware that this hotel only has pre-booked spaces in the local public car park, not "Private" parking as advertised. We had to accept the risk of parking our open top classic in one of their spaces or find another hotel to stay in. Having said that the hotel staff were very concerned about the situation and did try to find us alternative private parking in another hotel.
Review 10:Location. Friendly and very helpful staff.
Review 11:The only room with twin beds was not one of the really well placed ones with a balcony; La Rochelle hotel prices generally see high compared to Paris, so Bord'O is only pitched at local realities.
Review 12:Neat, clean, very well located in charming Quartier St Nicholas in heart of old town yet slightly removed from busy-ness of tourist La Rochelle. Wifi connection fine in room, not always the case. Okay, a few young folk may remind you it's 2am as they trail past the hotel full of the noisy joys of youth at that time of their day, but it's generally a quiet and pleasant spot. Do wander the streets behind the hotel off the tourist trail. A heartbeat away from seafront and cafés, bars; 2 grocery shops nearby. Excellent staff. Benjamin, an up and coming young professional in the hotel and tourism sector, was most courteous & amenable. We wish him the best of luck on his career path.
Review 13:Too noisy. Kept awake till about 2 am in a weeknight by bar opposite and breakfast didn't really exist. We went out instead. €9 for a coffe and slice of bread doesn't cut it.
Review 14:Not much.
Review 15:Pretty restrictive space, but this is a very common thing for hotels in France anyway.
Review 16:The breakfast, although served in a very "intimate" space, is very tasty and healthy. The rooms are clean and cleaned up everyday.
Review 17:Not a huge problem but only 1 plug socket in the room but this is because the building is old.
Review 18:Fab location, Lovely staff, Good value, enjoyed our stay.
Review 19:Some noise from nearby restaurants and bars, to be expected from location. Stairway and corridors require updating.
Review 20:Central location. Very helpful staff. Plenty of towels and linen. Room comfy and cosy with TV and wifi.
Review 21:The breakfast was lovely and plentiful but a bit expensive
Review 22:Great location-Lovely friendly staff-we had a room at the front which was tiny but with a nice balcony!!
Review 23:They were very stingy with toilet paper (only a little bit, replaced each day, but we were afraid of running out all the time), and only a single tiny soap, so we bought more. Also very noisy outside each night and hard to sleep. Expensive for what it was but it was peak time and very central so maybe that's normal there
Review 24:Excellent location
Review 25:Street noise
Review 26:People, France
Review 27:breakfast not worth €9 but that's normal French breakfast, hotel lacked a foyer

Review 44:Very freindly staff Excellent location Very clean
Review 45:Small rooms, expensive
Review 46:Location, atmosphere, ambiance
Review 47:Except the bedrooms, felt grubby. In room 27, the hanging space was designed so that you couldn't use it. The shower head holder was broken. The water went from Luke warm to scalding on its own accord. Too much late night noise from surrounding bars - kept us all awake
Review 48:Location The staff were helpful
Review 49:If a place is secured for 3 it should accommodate 3 comfortably with real beds for all. The pictures show such rooms and should be secured for all that indicate that 3 are staying.
Review 50:Proximity to port, restaurants and shopping and site seeing.
Review 51:Lovely building on a street full of cute shops and restaurants, a few minutes' walk from both the train station and the port, but without being noisy
Review 52:With the third bed in the room, there was nowhere to hang clothes or put them away. Fortunately we were only there overnight.
Review 53:Location, staff and bathroom
Review 54:The room is a bit tight, the walls are not so thick and the heating is difficult to be controled.
