Reviews for Highgrove Guest House

Review 1:(Nothing)

Review 2:1. Communication with the owner prior to my arrival (through SMS and phone call) 2. Flexibility of arrival time (as my train was delayed) 3. Wifi working very well 4. So easy to check-in, check-out... 5. Location (so near train station and city centre) 6. Friendliness of the young man who checked me in

Review 3:Asked to give estimated time of arrival and to ring when 5 minutes away. When rang 30 mins before arrival time (call was within estimated time of arrival but would actually get there 10 mins later than estimated), staff member was quite rude and abrupt on the phone. However staff were polite on arrival.

Review 4:Lovely comfortable beds in very spacious room. Good location for town centre. Quiet hotel, not disturbed at all.

Review 5:Dated decor and poor en suite facility toilet seat chipped and no grout left in floor tiles, shower was difficult to work and I had to hand hold it.

Review 6:Breakfast was pleasant and good value for money.

Review 7:Staff moaning about other guests loudly and about her cat being sick all over a chair. Not nice when you are eating your breakfast! Some things a bit rickety in room but didn't want to say anything because of above.

Review 8:Clean and comfortable room

Review 9:Very warm welcome and comfortable room. Heating wasn't working but was supplied with a portable heater that I didn't end up needing. Lovely breakfast and all for under £40.

Review 10:Lack of staff ,nobody there when we arrived to check in and telephone number was diverted then went dead

Review 11:rooms had tv and tea/coffee making facilities

Review 12:A bit overpriced for the comfort and facilities. Central heating was not functioning (although we were provided with a portable room heater), rather early checkout, poor sound isolation.

Review 13:Friendly staff, good location (close to M60), parking not a problem.

Review 14:One comment applicable to most hotels and guest houses - a single duvet on a single bed is not big enough to covrr a large occupant! A double duvet would be a great improvement. This however did not detract from the comfort of the bed

Review 15:Good sized single room. Comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast beautifully cooked and presented in a homely atmosphere

Review 16:Debbie was lovely and welcoming, helpful on the questions I had. Room was very clean and perfect for stay. Guest house was quiet so slept well. Good location, 5 min walk from station and a ASDA close by for food and essentials.

Review 17:Some minor repairs need to be done: - 1. The handle on my room's door (#7) needs to be replaced. 2. The wash-hand basin is cracked. 3. The shower door needs to be adjusted, it closes easily but is difficult to open. 4. The shower head needs to be replaced because the handle leaks. 5. The TV remote needs new batteries.

Review 18:The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 19:Such a lovely lady, I didn't manage to get her name. From the moment of booking here, she contacted me to ensure my requirements were met for this sad time, very warm and understanding. Many thanks for all your help. Katie x

Review 20:Linen and furnishings looking a little tired.

Review 21:Hostess very friendly and helpful. Wonderful full breakfast. Great location. Close to Trains and shops. Quiet although on Main road.

Review 22:Breakfast was too expensive for facilities on offer.

Review 23:Location to where i needed to be next morning. Room size although i had a family room as a single..

Review 24:The shower in my bathroom was rather ineffective (Room 5). Guests noise in other rooms could sometimes be heard.

Review 25:Highgrove House was very convenient with easy access to the town centre, railway station, shops and restaurants. My room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had a lovely bed. WiFi was very good too. I enjoyed a good full English breakfast one morning. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. A great stay in Bolton.

Review 26:Bed a bit high & needed some repair but otherwise no complaints at all

Review 27:Staff very friendly & warm. Excellent breakfast well cooked & served. Very warm welcome. Would use this guest house any time.

Review 28:Facilities fair. Central heating on only the first night for couple of hours and completely off the second night. TV position for viewing not comfortable.

Review 29:good and friendly, value for reasonable price.

Review 30:The location is very central to the town and facilities but just enough out of the way for peace and quiet. All the facilities I required were available in the room and anything else I needed I just had to ask. A lovely place and a very pleasant stay.

Review 31:I could hear noise from the street and people walking upstairs. Should have asked for a silent room.

Review 32:Debbie is a lovely lady, available to give information, call a taxi and to help with what's necessary. I totally forgot that the plugs in the UK are different and Debbie immediately turned everything upside down to find a plug adapter for me. On the last day I had a very pleasant surprise for breakfast!

Review 33:The Highgrove is an ideal location, near the town centre of Bolton. It is easy to find, with easy parking. It was cheap, clean and comfortable, with helpful staff. It had everything you'd expect to find in a budget hotel - except it didn't charge extra at the weekend!

Review 34:If im totally honest this stay was very noisy...coming from the people above us....they had children which is fine...but we could hear every word they where saying an running feet across the floor...but luckily we was out most of the time ....

Review 35:Debbie was friendly as usual....an a good breakfast...

Review 36:Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good parking for car and I was allowed to leave my car there long after I checked out. Room was clean and had everything in that I required. About 10 minute walk to the centre of Bolton. I would certainly stay there again.

Review 37:That we weren't able to stay longer.

Review 38:Very welcoming. The lady in charge was so obliging when my partner and I explained how we would be leaving early hours. Everyone one we met went out if their way to mmake us feel welcome. Lovely family and accommodation. Thank you.

Review 39:It didn';t spoil a thing but the flush handle on the toilet was broken, so we had to fiddle to flush to toilet, this is not a complaint, just a remark.
