Reviews for Llansantffraed Court Hotel

Review 1:The cooked breakfast could of been a bit bigger extra sausage and bacon and a full frayed slice but that's just personal preference

Review 2:Staff were really polite and couldn't do enough for me and my wife

Review 3:Staff very attentive and service in general was excellent. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with fabulous views. Whole hotel was lovely - very welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Hotel grounds also impressive.

Review 4:Fridge in room did not work

Review 5:This is a great location for a romantic get away. Bedrooms were a bit on the small side but bathrooms excellent, rooms clean &tidy. Staff very friendly, food excellent.

Review 6:Nothing didn't like. Small points - asked for extra tea bags for room but didn't get them. Couldn't make bedside lights work. Creaking wardrobe doors need squirt of WD40!

Review 7:Location and ambience

Review 8:We have nothing negative to report, however we would have appreciated a larger TV in our room.

Review 9:The friendliness of all the staff and their attention to any requests to ensure our stay was everything we wanted. The food in the restaurant was also excellent.

Review 10:Although very clean the bathroom was sadly dated and not up to 4* expectations

Review 11:The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our dog was as welcome as we were! Delicious food. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the beautiful grounds were lovely to stroll through. Super fluffy big towels.

Review 12:The main room for coffee/drinks is cold and unwelcoming. Even the bar is cold with all the doors wide open.

Review 13:Excellent restaurant. Good value table d'hote menu. Lovely friendly staff.

Review 14:pillows and duvet not nice comfy feathers! had booked an executive room with king size bed, but told Booking.com had not passed on our request, so not a comfortable night.

Review 15:the lovely view , and being able to walk around the lake.

Review 16:Was more a hotel than informal B&B but facilities were very good.

Review 17:Lovely setting and grounds. Convenient base for exploring the Brecons and other south Wales attractions. Great food.

Review 18:wifi could be better Other that can not find fault

Review 19:I loved the hotel the history of the local church. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food amazing .Very clean and the beds comfortable and the showers work perfect .Amazing beautiful location very picturesque loved the people .We didn't want to leave

Review 20:The food was out of this world, but - Very, Very long spells between courses. Bed very uncomfortable, and the room was ready for a makeover. Light above bathroom mirror not working.

Review 21:Housekeeping went out of their way to be helpful. Reception were kind enough to arrange for fresh milk to be brought to us.

Review 22:duvet lumpy , furniture a bit tired veneer on the desk lifting .dead flies on the windowsill.

Review 23:staff very friendly, probably best we have encountered for a long time. atmosphere in the b.ar very good

Review 24:Tiny point - only fault we have : 4 poster frame to bed with no shape to the poles and no drapes of any kind was a wee bit stark: would have preferred the bed without the additional framework!

Review 25:Large room with seating and coffee table, good sized dressing table with stools, decent size wall mounted TV, ample wardrobe and drawers Comfortable bed, extra pillows Double aspect with beautiful view Quiet - not far from main A40 but not a sound with the windows closed Bar and lounge area were excellent Dining room was cosy and food and service was perfect

Review 26:The rooms had not been inspected prior to occupation. There were thousand yes thousands of DEAD flies throughout the two rooms I was offered. The hall and landing. I even had to ask a member of staff to clean the room. No discount was offered on checkout. All the receptionist could say was, sorry!! Disgusting!!

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:The service at breakfast was terrible - we were not offered anything - had to keep alerting the waitress and asking for toast which took over 20 minutes, asked for cooked breakfast, butter, coffee, everything. Staff need to be trained, there was no fruit left. Very bad. Very disappointing in a lovely hotel.

Review 29:Location, atmosphere, furnishings, bedroom,food.

Review 30:Had hoped the hotel had had a makeover this time,it was 12 months or so since our last visit and we were very disappointed to find it was in the same state. We were given room 8,which we like but upon opening the door were horrified that the room was FULL of flies. The bed was sloppily made, feathers were all over the outside of the cushions and headboard and quite frankly the whole room looked mucky. The bathroom was clean however. The public areas look worn and shoddy and the carpets are a disgrace, tables are scratched and chairs look in need of work. Dining room is nice, but staff were very inexperienced. Food certainly not as good as we have had in the past and we really didn't need the boring tower of food at breakfast. There were no cereal bowls out and I picked up 2 side plates which were filthy! Breakfast tasted as if it had been kept warm rather than freshly cooked. Again the carpet was in need of a good Hoover and steam clean. This hotel isn't cheap and my Birthday was ruined by the sheer lack of care and pride in the building. We shall never return!

Review 31:This was our 3rd stay. The location is so beautiful and very peaceful.

Review 32:As above wrong way The bedrooms was comfortable. I ask for a large room I was given a small room and my family had a bigger room. So much for being upgraded. I stay in a lot of hotel cheaper and dearer. But this was the worst one. Will not be staying there again.

Review 33:The breakfast was not up to standard as you would expect from a hotel of that status. The fly's in the hotel were everywhere. I went to get cheese and fruit for brwakfast and there were fly's all over the food. Nothing was covered up. Trying to eat breakfast with flys everywhere is not my idea of good standards

Review 34:The fly infestation took the edge off the good quality food because if they are all over the hotel it means they must be present in the kitchen .The cold reception you received on arrival is not something we are accustomed to being spoken down to .on the breakfast front when my wife went to remove the napkin 5 to 10 flies flew from under it which stopped you wanting anything from the display.the foot prints in bathroom told us how clean the place is along with the long hairs all over the duvet and dust all around the edges of the window sills , and the none operational lights in the room.and not to be forgotten when we were over charged for a brandy that we had not had. So over all very disappointed.

Review 35:The food was excellent grounds were good

Review 36:Tired decor in the communal areas an corridors Much more expensive than other local hotels

Review 37:Beautiful room Large and comfortable bed Good range of breakfast options Lots of parking Lovely coutnry location yet very accessible Fantastic restaurants within 10 minutes' drive

Review 38:It is the worst experience for our trip, they don't deserve 4 star and worst value for money! I will NOT recommend to anyone. The facility is very old, the room was full of bleach smell, towers with stains and staff was not very helpful at all (We told them we couldn't get wifi from our room but we did need it urgently as there is no signal that area, they didn't even bother to try to resolve the issue!!!)

Review 39:There is ZERO positive point I can think about.

Review 40:Room had tired decor and bed was very small - looked like a single room converted to a double. Also we had a problem with flies - in the restaurant and our room!

Review 41:Dinner and breakfast were excellent with very knowledgable restaurant staff. Great location and beautiful grounds.

Review 42:I thought the menu was a little small, and on such a hot day it would have been nice to have a fan in the room (aircon would not be in keeping with such a grand old building).

Review 43:I loved the gardens and the peaceful setting. All within a few minutes drive of my work place. The staff were very polite and attentive.

Review 44:Fabulous food and very relaxed.

Review 45:Staff very helpful with a very relaxed atmosphere

Review 46:Very pleasant staff and a lovely hotel set in idyllic surroundings. Food was excellent also.

Review 47:Breakfast was fine if rather sparse certainly not worth the price.

Review 48:Nothing was too much trouble for the staff

Review 49:Relaxed atmosphere attentive staff good food and pleasant room in good location. What more do you need?

Review 50:Standard of room and furnishings, heating and dated bathroom fittings

Review 51:Food excellent and lounge and bar good

Review 52:Large comfortable rooms, good service and excellent meals in the dinning room.

Review 53:The prices of food and drinks were far too high

Review 54:The grounds

Review 55:Rooms were a little dated particularly the bedroom.

Review 56:beautiful location and superb food

Review 57:Stunning location. Amazing food.

Review 58:On the first night we stayed we had the hotel to ourselves -- fantastic !!

Review 59:Staff were lovely, Surroundings too. Just a perfect stay.

Review 60:Lumpy duvet Lounge furniture needs a boost

Review 61:Relaxing atmosphere Lovely grounds Excellent menus and food Modern bathroom

Review 62:Rooms are a bit dated.

Review 63:Fantastic place. Staff couldn't do enough to help.

Review 64:Decor and furniture need updating Bed a bit hard

Review 65:Location

Review 66:Flys in the restaurant

Review 67:Excellent food and friendly staff,

Review 68:Having asked for a quiet room, I was given one with a magnificent view, but this was just above the terrace, where noisy guests and visitors talked and laughed loudly into the night. The hotel has a major problem with flies and needs their bedroom windows screened. The bathroom needed a good clean and the dead flies on the window sills should have been removed daily.

Review 69:The setting was magnificent and the staff all extremely pleasant. The standard of food and wine was superb.

Review 70:bedroom located on a dirty landing which smelled of damp appreciated recent weather conditions, but it was very offputting.

Review 71:comfortable bed excellent food good service relaxing bar area nice lounge scenic location

Review 72:Bathroom was a little dated and water power for shower very weak.

Review 73:Nice bright rooms with views of the lake and church. Friendly staff. Seven course tasting menu (Valentines) Pleasant hotel well maintained.

Review 74:Wasn't anything to dislike!

Review 75:The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and the whole atmosphere was relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. Couldn't fault it.

Review 76:Room rather tired and housekeeping needed attention. Electric heating in bedroom but towel rail did not work. Power cut forced early departure due to husband's health issues - no heating, lifts or water (pumped from private supply). No refund offered even though only one night stayed.

Review 77:Lovely setting. Public areas - lounge with log fire and bar - very pleasant. Restaurant very intimate and dinner good.

Review 78:Rooms dowdy and uninteresting. The primary target market seems to be afternoon tea customers and wedding parties rather than business and leisure travellers.

Review 79:Good restaurant and location.

Review 80:The lampshades in the lounge had never been cleaned in 25 years. Carpets threadbare. The whole building needed cleaning up on the outside. Uncomfortable bed with poor shower and cupboards needing some WD40

Review 81:The staff and food were excellent

Review 82:Lounge area was rather unwelcoming ... would have liked somewhere more comfortable and in keeping with the rest of the hotel.

Review 83:Fabulous location! The staff were friendly and attentive, they also responded very well to problems when we checked in, so that said problems were overcome without our stay being spoiled. Excellent food.

Review 84:Served minute dry sandwiches On arrival, took an hour to Deliver and very bad value £6.95 for half a round of Tasteless dry food!!!!!!!!

Review 85:Location,property,grounds Large rooms

Review 86:Rooms could do with a little updating (furniture) as starting to look a little dated.

Review 87:Amazing food Beautiful view and hotel Friendly, helpful staff

Review 88:Nice setting. Fantastic dinner menu that was excellent value, good wine list. Comfortable and spacious rooms

Review 89:Lovely room with big windows overlooking countryside, lovely restaurant and beautiful grounds, with the best kitchen garden ever

Review 90:Nothing untoward for the whole visit

Review 91:Warm welcome, excellent food, efficient service, comfortable bed and lovely room.
