Reviews for L'Hostellerie du Château
Review 1:Our suite was perfect - beautiful bathroom, bedroom, dressing room and sitting room. Breakfast was first-class and our hosts welcoming and helpful. Parking was no problem in this delightful village.
Review 2:The wifi didn't work on the 2nd floor (top floor) in our room (once in a while we could pick it up if we stood right next to the door of the room). It worked fine in the breakfast room.
Review 3:It's a well-maintained property in a perfect location in a lovely village. In general, everything was great -- very comfortable, room and washroom were spacious, breakfast was nice.
Review 4:Would prefer a shower than a bath tub with a telephone shower that leaked all over the floor.
Review 5:The location, smack dab in the middle of this charming medieval village. Loved the nesting storks on the tops of the buildings. Take the self guided tour around town and learn about this former "walled medieval city".
Review 6:Location, premier locale. Close to everything. If you plan properly and coordinate with the hotel excellent parking is available very close by. A new hotel facility inside an old shell. Many great eateries within 2 minutes walk.
Review 7:None
Review 8:* It is a 3 stars B&B and the owners are very helpful to inform and manage your dinner in one of the many restaurants of this idyllic village. * Our superior room on the first floor had a superb view on the small centre place of this picturesque village, which is a typical Alsace village. * Breakfast is located on the ground floor over several rooms of this house. Breakfast is really complete and outstanding. It is boutique like. * The hosts are very nice, in fact they are outstanding. Helpful with information about the area, finding a parking place, during breakfast to fulfill your wishes, etc ... They do speak English, French, Spanish and I suppose German. * There is no car parking, but in August I was always able to find a parking close by and free. * Perfect location to visit Colmar and Alsace area.
Review 9:Be aware that rooms at the front mean you will hear the fountain in the square all night - which took a little while to get used to!
Review 10:The staff were very friendly and helpful - sorting out the wifi for us and even moving a car to offer us a nearby space in the street.
Review 11:The room was a little cosy. The larger rooms would be really worth the upgrade price.
Review 12:Great location with easily accessible parking. Extremely friendly hosts who do a wonderful breakfast.
Review 13:The hotel is only opened from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you are already guest, you have a key to enter into the hotel, but if you arrive to do the check in before 3 p.m., you’ll find the door closed. So, it's not easy to leave your baggage until this time and probably you'll have to carry it with you. This is especially grave if it's snowing and the temperature is below zero. Only by this inconvenient, I recommend another hotel with the reception open 24 hours.
Review 14:This is a very nice and comfortable hotel in the main square. The rooms are warm and clean, and the staff is very kind.
Review 15:Hotel proprietors were wonderful, warm, friendly and helpful. Wifi worked fine, petite-dejeuner was excellent, coffee was just right. A friend recommended we visit Eguisheim, we found this hotel online, stayed 2 nights and loved it, and were very happy with our choice.
Review 16:Fresh Pain au Chocolat for breakfast, friendliness of staff, beauty of location and building, feeling of being special when only ones allowed to drive into town
Review 17:Getting food in the town is an issue, there are specific timings and they won't serve prior to later than that!!!
Review 18:The scenic beauty is to die for, perfectly located right next to the church, the couple taking care of the place are really nice & extremely helpful... I wish we would've stayed a little longer! I would recommend every one to visit thus place atleast once in their lifetime!!!
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Eguisheim is a beautiful little town in the Alsace. L'Hostellerie du Chateau is located right in the centre - perfect. This allows one to wander around after breakfast before any day tripper coaches turn up - it's even better before any tourists arrive (yes, I know I'm one of them, but you know what I mean). The hotel is really calm and tranquil and I liked our hosts Phillipe and Melinda, who were happy to recommend restaurants to us. Recommended and would stay again if we're in the area.
Review 21:Quirky decor - no evidence of an interior designer!
Review 22:Location - coils not be better Clean Comfortable bed Superb breakfast - continental plus a boiled egg!
Review 23:WiFi worked less than 20% of time

Review 25:Staff went over and beyond, brought our luggage in from the street, made dinner reservations and were friendly and warm. Excellent, clean room with beautiful view of the fabulous town center. Comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast. Perfect location Large bathroom with excellent products.
Review 26:The room was HOT and we got lost trying to reach the castle! Better signage is needed.
Review 27:We loved the small circular neighborhood- beautiful scenery, plaza, church nearby.
Review 28:We were on the 2nd floor with no elevator. ( I felt bad asking the ownerto carry my 25 kg bags...but he wouldn't have it any otherway....carried the heavy luggage upstairs. :-D ) so now I have nothingto report under this section
Review 29:View of the square was magical! Room was exceptionally clean andbathroom something to write home about. Loved our stay. Highlyrecommended!! Internet was very good. Breakfast was good.
Review 30:Melinda & Philippe have a great attitude towards hosting. Made themselves available, very knowledgeable about the area and gave excellent recommendations for food and wine. They went ALL OUT with their great breakfast. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

Review 38:Food and wine were expensive.
Review 39:Staff very friendly. Room very big with 2 big windows looking out onto gardens.
Review 40:There was a small problem with the wifi, out of the responsability of the owners.
Review 41:Very friendly and helpful owners.
Review 42:No aircon only a fan. They close between 13h00 and 15h00.

Review 62:no kettle in room
Review 63:everything
Review 64:Everything
Review 65:The rooms are nicely decorated and quiet, the breakfast was good and the hotel is in an ideal location in the center of town.
Review 66:Design is a little 80s, but that doesn't really detract from comfort and uniqueness of the property.
Review 67:Amazing location in on central square of Eguisheim, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, nice minibar selection (including Alsatian whites and ice cubes!) and good breakfast.
Review 68:Our room was on the ground floor- it was very hot and we had to open the window; but the shutters weren't secure and we were very exposed to passers by - most uncomfortable. The shower leaked extensively and we were very, very careful - although the bathroom was well furnished and large. The bedroom was small by comparison
Review 69:The location in the centre of town and the friendliness of the staff; breakfast was good
Review 70:Lack of air condioning. On a warm to hot day it will effect the quality of rest.
Review 71:Location, location, location. Quiet B&B feel of the place. Friendly couple who run the facility.
Review 72:In the centre of the town, ideal location for touring area. Staff fantastic. Breakfast at €11 a little pricy but there were eggs and some meats plus superb range of good qualiy jams, eat as much as you want so you can set yourself up for the day.
Review 73:The ceiling in the room we had on last floor is slanted and makes almost half of the room and a good part of bathroom (already fairly small) hard to use. We are both not tall, but couldn't walk around the bed without bending. We did request a room on a higher floor, but we didn't expect inferior room.
Review 74:The staff is wonderful, helps in getting the luggage to a higher floor, helps to park the car, etc. Wonderful breakfast, full of choices. Hotel is very clean.
Review 75:My room lacked a good place to put my luggage, so I put it on the counter in front of the window. On the ground floor, it was difficult to get air and maintain privacy. The first shower I took flooded the room, as the water flowed from the bath surround directly onto the floor. The second time I sat in the tub and held the shower attachment--much better, but not ideal. The wifi in my room was spotty.
Review 76:The proprietors are like chipper and caring B&B owners. Willing to help with any question, very friendly, hard working and interested in their clients. Located right next to the castle and church in the center of the village, it was a great spot to head out from and return to. The room was cozy with good quality linens. Delicious breakfasts with at least 6 kinds of homemade confitures and eggs cooked to order. A great home away from home.I would definitely return.
Review 77:Free parking nearby but sometimes difficult to find.
Review 78:Excellent quiet town centre site. Very comfortable with excellent breakfast. Helpful and warm welcome by the management.
Review 79:It was during the Christmas market and was hard to find a place to park. But the staff was so wonderful to help us by walking around looking. We ended up with a perfect free spot
Review 80:the location was magic! the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was very nice.
Review 81:the small and cozy Hotel has a great location. The owner/manager couple are on the premesis ,very friendlly and accomodating. The re.gion is beautiful
Review 82:There was nothing we didn't like however, hotel is very small and so no room available for having a pre-or after dinner drink in a bar area or lounge room type arrangement.
Review 83:Excellent location, with friendly, helpful staff - particularly owner Melinda whom we found extremely helpful. Tastefully decorated rooms.
Review 84:No restaurant. There are many close by but it proved difficult to find a free table without reservation
Review 85:Central location but pre-ordered parking is essential!

Review 88:Rooms clean, but basic. Apologies, as flooded the bathroom whilst trying to have a shower (curtain on a wire not substantial)
