Reviews for Appart'City Valence Centre

Review 1:The staff at the reception was absolutely the worse I had ever seen.I had recservation confirmed by booking .com and arrived at 20:45 which is 15 minutes before they supose to close. The staff was so lazy and absolutely did not care about my reservation because they just wanted to close and go home.I will not recomend this place to anyone. Please do not go t this place!!!

Review 2:Was after 21.00 had pass code for door & safe but no room number lucky we came at the same time as a guest staying there who phoned and got our room number or we be stranded

Review 3:Close to rail station & shops

Review 4:Pathetic wifi. There were no signals of wifi available in the room, during my 5 nights stay. The shower gel was only enough for one day. There were no cleaning items in the kitchen available. Neither there was a dish washer. Instead of a sofa to sit, it was permanently made into another bed due to which the room was quite crowdy. The breakfast rate was way too high. No explanation at all for the procedure of entering the apartment and opening the safees for the collection of the room key.

Review 5:The location was very near to the city center and railway station Ville.

Review 6:Had some miscommunication with staff, also by mistake we received a room with double bed, even though we ordered a twin bedroom. Had to call the help desk, who resolved the issue. Also for the travelers with cars - no free parking around.

Review 7:The price was good. The studios were also okay.

Review 8:Around the property is a bit dirty. The kitchen was not very well cleaned in particular the cutlery and the dishes.

Review 9:The property is right in the center.

Review 10:Parking is limited and not free. Internet available via cable in the room but WiFi was an extra cost.

Review 11:Facilities at this hotel are excellent for the money. Close to train station and a short walk to town centre.

Review 12:The key to the room did not work. We had to wait for 40 minutes for thehotel stuff to come to open the door. As there were more people in thesame situation, I understand it is very usual problem. The attitide ofthe hotel support was strange - you can't cancel the booking, justsit and wait.

Review 13:The Facility is good. The rooms are clean. They have a laundry room.

Review 14:I am frequent traveller, I book hotels 1-2 times a week. We booked this Hotel with arrival time between 23:00 - 00:00. We could choose this time from the dropdown menu of booking.com. When we arrived reception was closed. Also there was no information on the desk. As we already parked the car in the garage we could not access our car anymore because the doors to the garage was locked. After calling the mentioned tel Nr on the hotel wall we was told that after 21:00 there no checkin possible! This is a disaster hotel, I would never book this one again.

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:Sadly our family room was not available (no reason given for this) so we were asked to take two twin rooms. The main issue for me is that we paid £80 per night for a room that looked nothing like the photos. I thought we'd get a comfortable, light and airy room up together. What appeared looked more like a room from 1960s USSR prison.

Review 17:The staff were very helpful

Review 18:The hotel looks as if it needs a few running repairs already. It has handles falling off, toilet roll holders that have been attached to the walls numberous time.

Review 19:The hotel has great facilities and has lots of potential, it looks virtually brand new!

Review 20:We were twice in this hotel in a period of 14 days. Both times the access codes didn't work. Other hotel guests had the same problem and were frustrated left outside the hotel, without nobody of the hotel to offer support. The second time the SMS that we received with the access codes was not even complete. The "save" code was missing. We had to use our foreign mobile phones, paying expensive roaming rates to finally get the access code.

Review 21:The hotel promises wifi in rooms - it did not work, and the staff expressed that there was nothing they could do about it. Apartment very small (in spite of the name,"large apartment") and kitchen utensils hardly sufficient for self-catering.

Review 22:Air-con worked well, and location is good.

Review 23:The room smelled badly of cigarette smoke even though we had been reassured that it was a non-smoking room. When we asked for another room at the reception we were rudely dismissed. The room was also not clean otherwise, the in-room facilities were in a sorry state (especially the shower and the fridge), the sheets smelled unwashed and there was not enough toilett paper.

Review 24:The WiFi was okay.

Review 25:The fact that we did not get a response to our parking request, and they only had 10 spaces - we chose this because of private parking facility - therefore very disappointed no private parking And LACK of response to our email.

Review 26:Good central location shame, about lack of private parking BUT good facilities and served our purpose for one night stopover.

Review 27:See above

Review 28:Wifi wasn't working which was annoying considering the price of the room compared to others especially as we were cycling every day for 2 weeks! Very clean, great location. Would def go again (despite issue with wifi- it was temporary).

Review 29:The staff weren't very friendly or helpful. Everything was an effort and generally just a debacle. We had to sleep on a double sofa bed with horrible hard rock like pillows despite booking a large double room with proper bed. The bathroom was dirty with black mould. The room smelt like stale smoke and has gone through all our clothes.

Review 30:A/c and refrigerator did not work. Fixed a/c and replacedrefrigerator, but this should have been taken care of before my arrival.Maid service non existent.

Review 31:Bad kitchen facilities, awful cutler is, did not get hot water in the bath or kitchen, no wifi was available to any room which led to boarders using whatever signal was there in the reception area as at a Railway station.

Review 32:That it was mercifully short

Review 33:None

Review 34:Close to train, large apartment with omfortable bed, large bedroom and bathroom, kitchenette, table and chairs. Everything new. Extremely quiet.very comfortable

Review 35:I didn't like the staff behaviours and the fact that the rooms are not cleaned at all.

Review 36:The hotel Is well located and if it's managed very well it could be better.

Review 37:First room we tried had not been cleaned, the second smelled of smoke, the third's door was very very hard to open.

Review 38:Very nice and helpful staff. Large room Close to the historic town

Review 39:Collecting a key for the room from a safe caused major problems as we booked 2 rooms and another guest lifted our keys and used the rooms. System needs to be re-thought.

Review 40:Situation

Review 41:Booked well in advance, 2 * twin rooms. Arrived at midnight with 3 mates to find been given 2 double rooms. Had to phone "helpline" as not staffed at that time of night and were allocated 1 more room that stank of cigarette smoke. Not acceptable,

Review 42:Told on arriving no private Parking available had to park in a horrible expensive car park about 15 mins away. While building smelt terrible and were not informed no breakfast availbke in a Sunday until the morning when it was closed. Would not reccomend

Review 43:Had facilities nice hot shower

Review 44:WiFi was terrible. We are non smokers but the room had clearly been smoked in extensively before us and was so bad we found it difficult to sleep. Beds were very uncomfortable and pillows too thin. Went to boil the jug only to find the plastic kettle was so filthy it stunk.

Review 45:Location

Review 46:Nothing.

Review 47:Only stayed on night in transit, but appt was good, clean, easy to find and no hassles. Would have like more time in Valence itself as it looked interesting.

Review 48:With about ten other people, we stood for 90 minutes in reception waiting for the receptionist to attend to us. But he was busy - the electronic garage doors had failed and cars could not get in or out. He tried phoning to find someone at the start of a weekend to mend it. He even asked us customers if anyone had a screwdriver so that he could try and mend it himself! Also one of the lifts was not working. Then it was announced that there was now no water in any of the rooms. Now he started phoning for a weekend plumber. We do not know if he succeeded because, after 90 minutes waiting in reception (with more people having arrived), and now late for a dinner appointment, not having showered or changed as we planned, we reclaimed the money paid in advance and went to a proper hotel. I have never experienced anything more dire and the hotel stands totally condemned for leaving its customers standing (not even sitting) in reception for 90 minutes in our case and longer for those who arrived before us! There was no management staff on site to help. It was a farce. What happens on Sundays when the reception is closed? If the water fails, and the electronic doors fail to open on a Sunday, do we have to go and buy a screwdriver?

Review 49:Insufficient parking facilities. Booked a twin room but got 2 single beds stuck together ,perpendicular to the main wall and against it, requiring outstanding gymnastic ability to get up. Lift out of order since a while, according to a frequent guest. Staff unfriendly and reception closed on Sundays.

Review 50:Never go there when you come by car. There is no parking place. The send you to an unattended parking place a few blocks from the Hotel. We left without using the room, because we were afraid to lose our stuff or find our car damaged the next day. NO REFUND, thanks. Never again!!

Review 51:The bed was a sofabed. There wasn't cofee machine in the Kitchenette. The reception closes a little bit soon.

Review 52:Excellent quality/price relation.

Review 53:I did not like the fact that my room wasn't been cleaned at all during 5 nights I stayed at the hotel and this was my second time there. The first time I stayed 3 nights and it was the same.

Review 54:Very nice place, good value for money. However their cleanliness policy must change. I stayed 5 nights there and my room wasn't been cleaned once, no towels changed, no bin changed. So, for this reason I'm very, very desappointed.

Review 55:Not even a teabag or coffee to make a cup of coffee in the kitchenette provided. No wifi keys available. No parking spaces available.

Review 56:Beds comfy. Sofa bed. Apartment clean. We did sleep very well there.

Review 57:The hotel was VERY busy - around 20 people waiting in reception and only one receptionist, also all the parking onsite had already been taken so we had to park at the railway station - only five minutes away though, so not too bad.

Review 58:Having a kitchen saved us at least 50 euros (although sadly we spent it all on fags and beer); also nice, clean, comfortable room and bed. Good shower too.

Review 59:When arriving on a Sunday like we did check in is very confusing. Even being a former travel agent did not help. A little video or a brochure would have helped. The gaining access to the room is also a bit tricky luckily my adept husband got it opened in no time! Note we encountered some Dutch people at check in door and had to help them through the process because they had no clue! Lastly the exterior and lobby area resemble a warehouse which is too bad because the rooms are really nice. In Valence maybe something to look at as there are other hotels close by at a similar price point that look more inviting to an arriving guest.

Review 60:Value for the price of room Spacious room Air conditioning Functional floor plan Spacious bathroom even had a makeup mirror nice plus Beds comfortable and in good condition Kitchen area nicely appointed with a door to close off from bedroom

Review 61:Access after hour was a nightmare, phone number to get room numbers etc. didn't work, took over an hour and we had to get a family member who lives in france to ring as the number available only worked from a french landline and NOT with mobile from abroad. Sleeping was on a sofa beds which was very uncomfortable and noisy,

Review 62:Generally clean and good facilities

Review 63:Please bring your reception hours into the norm for the tourism industry. We arrived at lunchtime and it was not open. For 2 hours. Apparently the email we received about access out-of-hours is only meant to apply to the time the reception is not open in the evening/night. Unhelpful. There was a strong stink of cigarette smoke in our room. When we asked the staff about this they shrugged and said you can't stop people smoking, even though it is meant to be smoke free. Some discourteous previous guest had left lots of the dishes in the cupboard dirty. Yuk.

Review 64:Appart city is fabulously close to the train station and some excellent patisseries. The area is also full of lovely little restaurants. Our room was large and the bathroom huge, with a bath and a separate shower. The kitchen facilities meant we did not have to pay extra for breakfasts etc. Air conditioning! And a laundry (extra costs, but very useful).

Review 65:The addition of a parking place did not result in a parking place in the garage. We parked several streets away. Unless we booked a triple room we got at first a double room. The night receptionist (by phone) was able to transfer us to a triple one.

Review 66:The check-in procedure. I told them weeks in advance my arrival time of 10pm, they sent the entry code too late when I could no longer see my email and had to call them internationally so incurred in a large phone cost. They charge for keeping your suitcase for an hour.

Review 67:Very clean, five minutes walk from the train station of the village of Valence (not the tgv station though).

Review 68:The cleanliness need to be improved.

Review 69:The location of this hotel is perfect.

Review 70:Personal ineficiente y realmente desagradable (Rude staff)

Review 71:Felt a little claustraphobic.

Review 72:Location central to city centre

Review 73:More of an apartment style hotel which fitted us well.

Review 74:Parking place is limited.

Review 75:Everything is good.

Review 76:They not respect russian turist! doesnt work internet

Review 77:near train station

Review 78:Sms for safe code was sended by email 10 min before arrival. Not really helpfull

Review 79:very goor direction - direct in city

Review 80:The lights in the lobby

Review 81:Parkeergarage was vol

Review 82:Perfecte ligging

Review 83:Too basic

Review 84:Very basic

Review 85:No parking available on site, difficult to find for first timers.

Review 86:Friendly front office staff

Review 87:No wifi, bad breakfast, no coffee or fruit, no soap by sink to wash hands. Had to go buy shampoo and soap first thing. Expensive !!

Review 88:Bed was ok

Review 89:Difficult with a car to get parking

Review 90:Not sure

Review 91:Wifi was down

Review 92:Clean room, very good value for a couple of nights in the city centre

Review 93:Very comfortable, great value for money, rooms are clean and spacious. Would recommend.

Review 94:Unhelpful Receptionist Reception Hours limited

Review 95:Comfortable Bed Great Value Great Location Pre booked parking

Review 96:The sofa bed is not very cool, but we are OK with that.

Review 97:Good spot in the city centre

Review 98:Car park is small and confusing

Review 99:Great facilities, good location, value for money, lovely staff who spoke English

Review 100:The parking was not good for big cars.

Review 101:Well equipped kitchen. Good breakfast. Close to the city center. Big bath room. Secure parking.

Review 102:No free wifi Not enough English language TV

Review 103:Value for money Location Cleanliness Security

Review 104:The extra bed was abit hard, made sounds as you moved.

Review 105:Very nice and clean appartment. Very comfty bed!!

Review 106:The people at reception were frosty on the verge of impolite, rooms smelled of smoke.

Review 107:Good size appartement, quiet and well equipped kitchen.

Review 108:Small rooms, basic, clean (although not squeaky clean), inexpensive. My room had TV, kitchenette, shower/WC. Washer/dryer available on ground floor. Rooms are apparently cleaned only once a week, so one must make one's own bed and occasionally ask for additional toilet paper at the reception. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful, some English spoken. The reception is closed during a midday break and from 21:00 until 7:00, so better not lock yourself out without your key during this time, or you will have to call the main Appartcity hotline and ask them for assistance. Very good central but quiet location in Valence! Close to the train station 'Valence Ville', bus station 'Pole Bus', Parc Jouvet, and center of town. Around the corner there is a small grocery convenience store which was open even on Sunday afternoon when I arrived (on Rue Pierre Semard, between the Rue de l'Industrie and the train station). There are also many bakeries, cafes, shops etc in the immediate neighborhood. I would stay there again and would also try out other Appartcity in other locations.

Review 109:No Wifi in room, only in reception area. Wifi is very important for travellers. That is how I booked my stay in your hotell. I think it is important in Today's world to provide good Wifi in all hotell rooms. And it is relatively easy and inexpensive to do.

Review 110:Wanted Internet for room but no more 'boxes available'. Poor to have not enough boxes. Next night stayed in another appart city property, got an Internet box, but you need a degree in IT to get it to work.

Review 111:Dishwasher, English speaking tv channels.

Review 112:Bed a little creaky but this is only noticing.

Review 113:Clean, spacious room, well equipped kitchen and excellent shower. All you would want in a hotel room for a bargain price.

Review 114:Not much, the view from the room wasn't great, but that can't be helped!

Review 115:The location was perfect, not far from the station. Everything was clean and there were plenty of lights, having our own kitchen was cool.

Review 116:Terrible experience. We arrived there at11.p.m,no reception, door closed,we can not enter until someone lived there get out to smoke. Then we don't which room to go and have no key, two Spanish tourist come and they have the same problem, after their half an hour's phone call to the customer service, they and us have successfully got our room.No Internet in the room.Never again.

Review 117:Big room.

Review 118:I got displeasure the way the check in was proceding through the green number(late, some discordances...),beeing sunday staff day off's.

Review 119:the hotel is central and close to the railway station, many pubs bars and restaurants and also one little mall.Modernly stylised inside, rooms offer the possibility to prepare by ourself as to enjoy one good and varied breakfast in the lounge alongside reception but the sunday.Free toiletries are provided and tv broadcast 1 large scale of foreign channels.

Review 120:We arrived on a Sunday, the hotel receiption was closed! We did not have a working mobile phone at the time, and all pay phones in the town only take cards, after the panic attack, we went to the nearby train station to get phone card, called the number on the sign, the lady answered the phone had to check to see if we were in the system, then process payment. Once we had the code to access to the receiption area, found that the name on our envelop (with Key in it) was "double", not our surnames. Finally we managed to get into our room. However, some guest were forced to book into a different hotel in town because they did not make the phone call like we did and just by looking at the names on the envelops, they could not identify their rooms, because some of the names they put on the envelop were: bike, fish, etc. The main hall way is the only area with wifi available.

Review 121:The apartment is new, clean and well equiped.

Review 122:small tv in proportion to the room remote that barely worked to change channels

Review 123:The kitchen. Plenty of space well though out good bathroom great heating quiet comfortable bed

Review 124:The check-in/out procedure can get a little tricky, so make sure youread all of their directions. If you arrive on a Sunday, at lunch (12-2)or after the hours of the front desk (after 9 P.m), you have to have thecode to the door and the lockbox where your room information is. Iwitnessed many a people who were caught in a tough spot because theydidn't have one or more of the codes. Make sure you provide a cellphone number that is working to get the codes if you plan on arriving inoff hours. Also, Wifi is only free in the lobby. An Ethernet cord is inthe room if your laptop can connect to that. It was a little spotty. Ifyou are staying for a week, be aware that they only clean your room onceper week. If you happen to run out of toilet paper or the trash getsfull, you must deal with that.

Review 125:The rooms were quite nice. I had a triple room shared with twoothers and it was comfortable. The kitchenette came in handy. It isfully equipped with dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and a fridge. Thehotel is also very close to the train station which make for easywalking to and from.

Review 126:The design of the kitchen was very dangerous with two out of three of us gashing our foreheads on the sharp corners/edges of the kitchen cabinet and microwave shelf. The latter made washing up a job solely for midgets.

Review 127:Staff were very pleasant and helpful; the apartment was basic but modern and clean

Review 128:Parking on the street was a little difficult so either book a place in the car park or, for a cheaper option, use the public car park which is just around the corner.

Review 129:The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent value for money, with plenty of different options to choose from.

Review 130:We were not able to access our room as we arrived out of hours late one Sunday night. I will be emailing booking.com with all of our issues. We were not the only ones who could not access the rooms. Fortunately for us a French guest came in late at12.30 am and had the same problem. He had an emergency number to ring different from the ones by the entrance door which no one relied to when we rang in desperation. We eventually accessed our room after 1.30 am but only because the French man was king enough to ask the person on the other end of the phone our room number too. Definitely will never access such a system again. A poor Dutch family just left , they had 4children and couldn't access the safety box to get their envelope with the key card. No instructions, absolute nightmare!

Review 131:I ordered a non smoking room but the first room was totally smoked and the second room offered was scarely better. The fan of the AC run through the whole night though I opened the window. I had to pay the room in forward when I arrived. Though I left the hotel after the first night because of the smoked room I had not only to pay for the room but the parking as well. That is not acceptable. In every business hotel it is usual not to pay for a night I do not use. And absolutely not for the parking I am not using.

Review 132:The parking slot was relatively spacey. The clerk lady was trying to help. Breakfast was ok.

Review 133:The free internet they offer is SO slow that do not expect to do anything else than opening your email. You can pay extra and get fast internet.

Review 134:Very clean and new; Few minutes walking from the center of Valence; Worth for the prize. Kitchenette has everything you could need to cook some pasta, but nothing far more elaborated.

The Fine Print
