Reviews for La Chaumière
Review 1:Lack of coffee and tea facilities on the room.
Review 2:The house and the site on the beach! Also the view on the harbour industry opposite atracts us. Fine restaurant and two lovely cats ...
Review 3:Nothing at all. Everything was great!
Review 4:Beautiful hotel located on the coast in close proximity to the beautiful town of Honfleur. Friendly & welcoming staff (& two cats). Lovely modern rooms with the most comfortable beds. Overall a lovely relaxing stay. Would definetly return.
Review 5:Arrangements or leaving very early not well thought through
Review 6:The location is exquisite, wonderful grounds and landscape which lead to a beach. Views extraordinary. Wonderful restaurant, superb food.
Review 7:Nil
Review 8:Excellent location just out of Honfluer. Wonderful service from all staff particularly the reception and restaurant staff Excellent restaurant interesting food and chef was passionate about well cooked local food
Review 9:Breakfast was poor and service slow. Room was spacious but a bit dark
Review 10:Excellent restaurant. The filet en cocotte was the best we've ever tasted. It's very popular so make sure you book. Lovely walk along the beach into town
Review 11:Modest breakfast.
Review 12:Great location few steps to the beach and half an hour by walk (on the beach) to Honfleur. Place is very calm & cosy, designed with a taste. You can hear a sea while falling asleep and birds while getting up. We rent a hotel's bikes to explore its surrounding and it was just the best.
Review 13:No signage off the main road.. That was being addressed the day we checked out.
Review 14:The beautiful setting in well maintained gardens. The location was on route to the south that helped break the journey. The friendly welcome and the absence of TV. Good wifi signal. Close to 2 small towns so within easy reach of restaurants.
Review 15:If I say it was too good then I will have a hard time with availability next time I want to go)))
Review 16:The staff were so accommodating and the whole atmosphere of the place is just pure bliss.
Review 17:Poor lighting - Need a torch to get to room. Nowhere to relax and read and bedrooms only had one chair Wet room poorly designed so you had to go through wet area to access basin, no plug in basin, no light over mirror, cleaning teeth or shaving a challenge! Flies Need robust 4x4 to negotiate drive, craters and pot holes. Nowhere to relax after dinner No table on terrace, deck chairs only, terrace not private to next room. 'Private' garden areas unmarked Swimming pool size of pool table Price does not reflect quality - not value for money
Review 18:Staff very friendly and helpful Dinner was excellent, very sophisticated, innovative cooking and presentation. Good choice of wine. Access to beach for walks very good. Friendly cat!
Review 19:For the price of the accomodation and 4* hotel not value for money or service. Very mch felt like we were there at the end of the season, no cushions out on sun loungers, had to ask for swimming pool to be opened No turn down service, towels not replaced. Restauarnt not open on Monday that we were not aware of, when we got back from dinner no outside lights on anywhere. Sea view .. looks across river to industrial area of Le Havre
Review 20:Excellent dinner Rooms very comfortable Nice decent bathroom
Review 21:The view across the harbor is of a large industrial plant, but this is the same for all of the properties on that coast. The only other detraction was the cost of breakfast. Effectively $100 for a family of 4, it consisted of yogurt, boxed cereal, mediocre french bread/ croissants, and jam. I found this, just at our point of departure, somewhat irksome.
Review 22:The hotel has a gorgeous building and grounds, and one instantly has a sense of luxuriating in style. It is nicely just outside of Honfluer, so one can join the hustle and bustle to one's content, then away to some peace. The pool is private (must be reserved) and exquisite.
Review 23:Limited closet space - not a problem for short stay but we were there 6 days Would have liked to have a small fridge in the room to keep some beverages
Review 24:Location Food - excellent! Service - very friendly and helpful (especially with our limited French) Large bathroom Comfortable bed The overall style and ambience View out of our window
Review 25:Very expensive and did not live up to the price. When you pay £350 for a room you expect it to be in top condition. Lights were not working, no soap for the basin and it would have been nice to have a dressing gown!
Review 26:The washing facilities in room 8. Designers dream, users nightmare !
Review 27:Location is good and convenient for beach and sightseeing. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
Review 28:The swimming pool is great but, due to its reduced dimension, shall be previously booked at the reception. This was not indicated on the reservation mail. Nevertheless the personnel did make everything to let us enjoy it even at the last minute, thanks!
Review 29:Very quite and relaxing hotel, the rooms, hall, garden and swimming pool are simply perfect. Great place for a great weekend. Merci
Review 30:Great hotel, great food, great location. With only 9 rooms, this is more like a family home than a big hotel feeling.
Review 31:Position of hotel and delicious food
Review 32:Breakfast good quality, little choice
Review 33:There are a lot of cats around which is fine so long as you're ok with them.
Review 34:Absolutely beautiful grounds, facilities and rooms. Just stunning.
Review 35:small thing a table and two chairs on the decking outside our room would have been nice
Review 36:excellent location and facilities and not far from honfleur
Review 37:Piped music
Review 38:Staff were very good A lovely hotel and licstion
Review 39:Tranquil
Review 40:the driveway to the hotel is in minor state
Review 41:Beautiful seaside view, great garden, friendly staff, great breakfast
Review 42:Actually, nothing !
Review 43:Hotel with a lot of character and excellent food. The owner is a charming lady.
Review 44:The drive to car park bumpy and with pot holes. If your car is low or has a front spoiler you need to be careful
Review 45:Location was superb
Review 46:Nothing!
Review 47:Amenities, staff, privacy, comfort, friendliness, indoor and outdoor furnishings - hotel cats! Loved having a Renault Twizzy to use!!
Review 48:Standard room in the ground floor is small and dark. Ohter guests are passing right outside the window so if you like privacy day and/or night you need to close the heavy curtains and will find yourself in a kind of gravechamber with dark and non-ironed bed sheets. Additionally, the guests in the neighbouring room decided to have a loud party in the middle of the night that destroyed our sleep. The hotel staff did not care much the next morning and did not offer the slightest symbolic compensation for an expensive and almost sleepless night.
Review 49:Very nicely decorated main rooms and fine location (if you do not mind the view of the big industrial port le Havre across the river). Very good dinner restaurant (but unprofessional staff at breakfast).
Review 50:Details: no hair drier, no solid soap. They do not use linen on the bed, just use a duvet. They has to allow the people that the hotel is more than two kilometers away of the town, if somebody does not have a car hasto stay en the hotel (there is not public transportation )
Review 51:Hotel and the view is really beautifull.
Review 52:Remodeling of our room was not quite complete at the time of our stay (but only very minor details). Bedroom furnishing choice seemed slightly wrong - funky/stylish but not quite comfort-oriented.
Review 53:Beautiful building with generally excellent decor. Marvelous staff and a good dining facility.
Review 54:The option of a more simple menu at lunch and dinner would encourage one to eat in the hotel more frequently.
Review 55:The location is wonderful. The rooms have lovely aspects. The dinner menu was very good.Facilities such as the piscine and the bikes and the tennis court to be commended
Review 56:The restaurant menu was very limited and we were given no advance noticethat it would be closed on Monday...we had planned to eat in that nightas it was our 35th wedding anniversary and the reason for our trip!!Also the tv reception was terrible for bbc programmes. Although a coffeemachine was provided I had to ask every day for a sachet ofcoffee.....NOT What I would consider 4 star service.
Review 57:The location was very pretty but you needed a car to go intoHonfleur at night.
Review 58:It is a quiet place , very good , to rest and to relax . We feel like at home, quiet , not a lot of people, the staff is very discret . You can stay in your room, untill 1 pm, nobody is disturbing you, asking for cleaning the room or making noise . They clean the room in the afternoon .
Review 59:Hand-basin in the main bedroom-- not by the toilet--unhygienic.Sound-proofing of room poor probably due to lack of soft furnishings Entrance to the hotel was inadequately signposted from the road
Review 60:Smart entrance around reception.Very friendly and polite staff. Bedrooms were very clean.
Review 61:Strangely limited supply of coffee in the room - didn't chime with the nightly cost.
Review 62:Quiet and relaxing ambience. Close enough to walk along the beach to Honfleur. Hotel restaurant provided a quality, if limited, menu. Very generous continental breakfasts with home made goodies. Comfortable, clean room. Good views across the Seine.
Review 63:Sound-proofing could be better. We had the ground floor room and could clearly hear a party of guests in the seating area next door who were there until late at night.
Review 64:Lovely, peaceful location. Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the 'open' shower in the room.
Review 65:Excellent place!! Has a very cool vibe, We both enjoyed our stay a lot! The place is amazing.... So very relaxing and helpful. Would 100% recommend!
Review 66:Over priced, plus breakfast had a poor variety of choise.
Review 67:Great location.
Review 68:Little tight with the in room amenities one bar of soap to least 6 days
Review 69:Excellent atmosphere and superb restaurant
Review 70:Restaurant was closed on Evening of our arrival and we had no notice if that . Hotel situated some kilometres outside Honfleur.
Review 71:Setting
Review 72:The staff were hard to understand when trying to locate the hotel.
Review 73:The bathroom and size of the room.
Review 74:Staff, food, setting
Review 75:quiet and pretty location, friendly and helpful staff
Review 76:Could do with more choice at breakfast
Review 77:Friendly inviting attitude of staff
