Cornfields descritpion
Cornfields is a Grade Two listed building set among rural Bedfordshire. The main building dates back to the 17th century and retains its original oak beams and Inglenook fireplace. Free Wi-Fi and free private parking are also available.

Reviews for Cornfields
Review 1:The sound proofing could be improved - I was kept awake by a very verbose couple until 3 am one night!!
Review 2:The room I had was enormous and beautifully furnished. Although I didn't eat in the restaurant or drink in the bar as I was travelling alone, both looked lovely and I hope to return again soon with my husband.
Review 3:For some reason, they thought I had booked a double room with breakfast for one person (£90 on the web) when we got there was told it would be more as there were two of us and then that as we had to leave by 8am on Saturday, no breakfast. Although they might be able to find something cold. Bill turned out to be £242 with dinner. I nearly cried!! &232 for one night with no breakfast. I felt like everything was a bit of an effort - not like we were paying guests. This was my second attemp at getting him indoors to go to something less corporate and neither time has been a success. Travelodge next time! I admit defeat :(
Review 4:Gorgeous old building in a lovely setting. Food was good.
Review 5:The unique style of the hotel, particularly the layout of the rooms and the gardens. The restaurant was first class, beautiful food, with very attentive staff.
Review 6:price of food - when you're staying as a contractor you don't want to spend £20+ every night on food.
Review 7:excellent food from the a la carte restaurant
Review 8:Nothing really, just remember it is a remote location and very rural environment out in the fields.
Review 9:Very nicely decorated, spacious room. Clean and quiet, nice view. Plenty of car park. Very cozy, traditional restaurant and bar. Very friendly and supportive host.
Review 10:A piece of metal / brass wire in one of our dishes during the evening meal (with basically a blasé attitude from the staff when this was pointed out), combined with the fact that the cleaner banged on the door extremely hard in the morning after 11am saying that we were supposed to be checked out and that we had been told about this previously, made one of the most abrupt and rudely promoted exits we have ever had.
Review 11:In summary as a place, it is pleasant and discreet restaurant with rooms with a cosy feel being the size it is with generally warm service in the restaurant and I liked the outdoor patio and small garden very much.
Review 12:There is nothing about cornfields that I didn't like
Review 13:Beautiful room. Superb meal in the evening and breakfast. Very friendly staff. Nice touches in the room like fresh coffee and cafetière.
Review 14:Welcoming, comfortable bar and restaurant, lovely food and very attentive and pleasant service. Rooms very comfortable and well appointed. A very enjoyable stay all round.
Review 15:Only negative we could think of was the shower was difficult to use but everything else was perfect
Review 16:The hotel was lovely and so was the chap who owns it
Review 17:In fairness we were staying mid week, so the bar and restaurant was very quite, sadly too quiet. The bedrooms are not in the main house and although they were beautifully furnished felt a little cold.
Review 18:The food was amazing, both the evening meal and breakfast. Beautifully fresh, original, plenty of vegetables. Damask table linen and an excellent choice of wine.
Review 19:Room was dark due to tall trees at the front.
Review 20:Excellent service, extremely good food. Room was in a small block away from the restaurant so very quiet. Breakfast cooked to order. Lovely views across open fields.
Review 21:Wifi not great, was slow and keeps dropping
Review 22:Staff very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent, Wifi a little slow but all in all excellent
Review 23:No bad experience. "Wifi was a little slow but as it was complimentary and did perform this is not a reason to complain
Review 24:Everything! Lovely location and great food just a short walk away. Bed very comfortable, quaint wooden beamed cottage
Review 25:The bed was a little bit hard, few cobwebs but expected in the country
Review 26:The room was beautiful and the host very friendly, the foot was also very good. relaxing bath, all facilities needed.
Review 27:It didn't bother me but there is a main (country) road outside which has some traffic in the morning for light sleepers and access to the attached rooms is outside but only a few paces. Don't let either of these comments put you off
Review 28:It's description of a Restaurant with Rooms is accurate. A beautiful old refurbished pub, with excellent food and rooms that put most hotels to shame. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and relaxed. A very enjoyable and relaxing experience
Review 29:Rooms are accessed from the garden - imagine this to be lovely in the summer, but a bit uncomfortable in the cold and rain. Not exactly far to go, but better if a covered way was in place.
Review 30:Welcome from the owner, dinner from the owner,s wife and a really interesting and comfortable room (one of six). The building is a delight - mind your head on the beams!
Review 31:Cornfields was a pleasure to stay at. The rooms were an excellent size, spacious and comfortable. Good Wi-Fi connection. Very large, comfortable bed. The restaurant served excellent food. a real delight and a surprise. The breakfast was also delicious. All in all a very good stay.
Review 32:The location is very rural, you need a car. Except for the hotel & restaurant there is nothing else outside. But those who hate noise will love this place. The bathroom had a bit dated fittings but it's alright.
Review 33:A lovely small B&B, very nicely decorated, spacious room with a great view. Very friendly and supportive hosts. Great food and excellent cozy atmosphere in the restaurant. Plenty of car park space.
Review 34:nothing
Review 35:The restaurant and bar were cosy and comfortable. The dinner menu and food supplied were excellent. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. The hotel was located in quiet spot off a county lane and surrounded by fields and a meadow to the rear.
Review 36:attention to detail. for £150 per night I would have expected the bathroom tiles to be cleaned after the previous guest had used the shower ,also a contact lense on the bathroom floor.
Review 37:the food was of a high standard and piping hot. lovely setting.
Review 38:We were looking for somewhere quiet where we could relax and Cornfields was perfect. Very nice big room with everything we needed. Booked a meal in the restaurant, the food was excellent. Also very nice breakfast in the morning. Will definitely be going back again when we are in the area.

Review 96:This was my first time at the hotel and will be staying again when I’m in the area would recommend to all.
Review 97:Room had very tasteful decor. Bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was great - everything provided and fresh. Very relaxing accomodation.
Review 98:We couldn't eat in the restaurant, alas - but the management were most willing to provide an in-room snack (for my wife) and a late-night sandwich (for me). I hope it will be a regular port-of-call on our travels between Norfolk and the West Country.
Review 99:Staff were not particularly friendly; not hostile, just not warm. The room was not especially comfortable or well presented, especially given the price; again, not terrible, but not great. They should learn that it takes more than three grains of coffee to make a decent cup.
Review 100:Dinner was excellent
Review 101:Only that I had to go to work and couldn't stay longer!
Review 102:I booked a room here at short notice, and really enjoyed my brief stay in the cottage. During a period of lots of travelling for work, and itentikit chain hotels, it was so refreshing to stay somewhere independently managed and personable. It's very peaceful, clean, relaxed and well-managed, and I'll certainly be recommending it to others!
Review 103:We had a blissful night in this tranquil place, almost silent except birdsong. We sat outside watching the sun set over the fields enjoying very generous G&T's, seeingrabbits hop about in the opposite field. A white owl flew over carrying a mouse. Graham was lovely, just the right mixture, like the g&t's!
Review 104:Breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect. The pub was beautiful and authentic with a little log fire. The owner was lovely. The cottage was stunning, clean and traditional and the bed was super comfortable.
Review 105:My room was a little cold late at night. But it was mid-winter.
Review 106:Cozy, rustic, historic pub (dates back to the 1600s), that has remodelled itself as a restaurant with rooms. Exposed beams and lovely open fire. Extremely generously proportioned rooms (chalet style). Evening meal was good. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff very pleasant. It's a very quiet location about 6 miles outside Bedford.
Review 107:Large comfortable room and good sized bathroom. we stayed in the old stable buildings. The area was very peaceful but in easy reach of some great places to visit. It is also a good area for walking . The breakfast and evening meal were very good.
Review 108:Noisy cows in the farm next door! Better sound proofing would help customers sleep.
Review 109:Rural setting next to a farm. Nice sized room in a building adjacent to the main one. Clean and comfortable. Good food in the quiet restaurant. Attentive and pleasant staff.
Review 110:It's just being picky; internet and wi-fi was intermittent.
Review 111:The hotel was excellent offering spacious and comfortable rooms in a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was amongst the best that I've tasted in any hotel or restaurant. The log fire in the lounge area only enhanced the experience of staying in a beautiful country hotel.
