Reviews for Logis Hotel des Bourbons
Review 1:Very responsive staff. The lady at the reception was very helpful in providing me transport to the office where I had a meeting. As no taxis were available, she & her friend drove me to the office. It was very sweet of them.
Review 2:Bedroom & bathroom was rather poorly lit. The view of the railway station from our window. Having to share a breakfast table!
Review 3:Location, 5 mins to lovely town.
Review 4:You could hear your neighbors through the walls, but everyone was in bed by 10:00pm anyway. I didn't really mind.....sort of like being in a big family house!
Review 5:Came to Montlucon on impulse and booked this hotel due to proximity to the train station. Perfect location for touring the medieval village, too! Would definitely stay here again!
Review 6:The view from our room was dreadful so we had the shutters and curtains closed all the time to block it out. The breakfast coffee was weak and disappointing. We couldn't find any information about where to eat in town. The wifi was free but access only lasted 10 mins
Review 7:Quiet in spite of being next to the Station with an enjoyable walk into town. Our two dogs were welcomed.
Review 8:Travelled from Toulon to St Malo, so arranged to sleep overnight in Montlucon, however I took a wrong turning and got lost in the dark in a terrible storm in the mountains. I phoned the hotel to say I wasn't going to make it in time for check in. The lady was lovely, first of all made sure I was now on the right road, then made sure I was able to check in even though I was eventually an hour and a half late. Very comfortable bed, fantastic staff-Thankyou!!
Review 9:Restaurant closed in August.
Review 10:Traditional French hotel - lovely turn of the century exterior with modern internal conveniences. Excellent location to walk into medieval centre.
Review 11:Restaurant was shut for August which was a shame as we had booked the hotel because of Logis' excellent food. However we went to another Logis for dinner and had a fantastic meal
Review 12:We booked in advance to have a room suitable for two adults travelling with a young baby, specifically with space for a travel cot for our 3 and a half month old daughter. We were given a double room that was so small that once we had assembled our travel cot you could no longer access the ensuit toilet and shower. The room we were given was also at the very top of the hotel, unusually hot and stuffy and, crucially, had no air conditioning. The ensuit had no bath so we were unable to give our daughter her usual evening bath. We were offered no assistance with our bags (and travel cot etc) up to our room which was a considerable distance from the hotel lobby / lifts. Overall, the room was one of the most unpleasantly hot, uncomfotable and unrestful hotel experiences I can recall, quite aside from the fact that it was completely unsuitable in every way for a couple travelling with a small baby. Also, the whole shower unit wobbled precariously when entering / exiting it. Also, the proprietor on the front desk was difficult in the morning about us just having coffee without the full breakfast. A decidedly bad hotel experience - one to avoid!
Review 13:The evening meal was very good and the waiter who served us helpful and friendly.
Review 14:The location was an excellent half way point on our way south. The town was pleasant to stroll round before dinner and sit under the castle for a pre dinner drink. The restaurant was excellent the food 5 star although decor a bit dated but very French. Would recommend.
Review 15:Service?? We ordered 2 glasses of wine at 2pm in the Brasserie/Bar..It was half empty. We asked to sit at a table and told we have to go to the lobby/reception area to drink them. Returning for dinner 6 hours later our empty glasses were where we left them. We were overcharged for our room on the bill. We brought this to their notice, it was corrected but no apology. Review 16:Location was good, near town centre
Review 17:Not easy to find using Sat Nav co ordinates that sent us into the old quarter with bollards preventing access, best advice is to head for the Gare whereupon the hotel is situated just opposite but quiet spot.
Review 18:Lovely old building with a modern touch well located for visiting old historic area of town. Room pleasant with all we needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent restaurant serving traditional food. Pet friendly. Parking outside is available but garage is only 5 euros extra & very secure.
Review 19:The only downfall was the size of the room. It was very small but acceptable on a short/one night stay.
Review 20:We liked the location it is very near the town and the amenities. The train station is also a great asset if required.
Review 21:Loved the comfortable bed. The brasserie was excellent value for money. The food was well prepared and presented and excellent value. We will come again.
Review 22:Was not told hotels restaurant was closed for re fit. I no there was a restaurant across the road but should have been told.
Review 23:Nice friendly staff. Very clean spacious room with excellent facilities.
Review 24:However, wifi access if you use it a lot is irritating as you have to re-enter the code every time you go online and then change it every 24 hrs and there are no tea / coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 25:Friendly staff, good location for access to station (2mins walk) and old town (less than 10mins) and comfortable room. Staff very helpful about booking.com having messed: despite having confirmed booking with us they accidentally sent an email to the hotel cancelling our reservation!
Review 26:Cleanliness of bathroom wasn't up for the 3 stars standard Breakfast Buffet was a bit small but ok nevertheless.

Review 58:We did not know that the hotel restaurant would be closed on a Monday night. Hotel very hard to find even with sat nav as the medieval city is closed to traffic
Review 59:Very large comfy beds, very quiet location.
Review 60:I booked the hotel as an over-night stop as it boasted an excellent restaurant. Sadly this was closed for August! It would have been helpful if this was noted on the booking site. The staff were quite off-hand.
Review 61:The room was fine and the location was quite central next to the railway station. The roller blinds were very good at blocking out any noise and so the location (next to station) was not a problem. There was a fan provided.
Review 62:The synthetic fibre sheets on the bed, the restaurant food that made me ill. No tea making facilities in the room.
Review 63:Dog friendly, convenient, has a Restauarant.
Review 64:Mould in the bathroom is a problem and the shower needed replacing. In spite of recent refurbishment at the hotel the mattress was uncomfortable. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. For this stay my room was very small and cramped with two dogs.
