Reviews for L'Hostellerie Des Comtes
Review 1:The room could have had some improvements in terms of facilities offered. For example in the bathroom there is no place to hang the towels.
Review 2:We really appreciated the location being just near the historic center of Eguisheim.
Review 3:Rooms are large and comfortable, and the owner went the extra mile with little extras like free coffee/beers in the room and a super breakfast. The host was very helpful, welcoming and great with children. The restaurants in town are just 10 min walk and good standard.
Review 4:Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice rooms. Really appreciated the covered parking place for the motorbike. Also the restaurant is very good: a lot of choices and excellent food.
Review 5:There was a heat wave and no A/C
Review 6:The breakfast was amazing! We also had dinner there and the food was also amazing. The beds were comfortable and we had a great balcony.
Review 7:Room is a little shabby, but OK. Breakfast was OK, with items running out and not always replenished. A/C didn't work and it was very hot when we were there. All of this is outweighted by the positive aspects.
Review 8:Staff is fantastic, location in lovely Eguisheim is great and the dinner restaurant is excellent.
Review 9:Perfect
Review 10:Had a room with spacious balcony, perfect for smokers. This is now our second stay at the hotel, last stayed in 2013. Good off street parking, private and safe especially when travelling with loaded boot.
Review 11:the room is not very cosy - not much decor, just the furniture
Review 12:bathtub, location right at the entrance to the picturesque village center. Not many options for breakfast, but what is available is good quality
Review 13:Parking is a little difficult and perhaps a bar area or a place to sit with a drink would be an improvement
Review 14:This is our 6th visit to the village and our 4th to this hotel. It is our first visit since a change in management. It now has really good food and an improved setting in the dining room. The staff are friendly and helpful. The position in the village is excellent, away from the main street but within reach of the everything the village has to offer. The hotel is sandwiched between two very good wine producers!
Review 15:Had 2 pushed together single beds and would have preferred 1 big double. Otherwise, everything was perfect!
Review 16:Amazing location, cutest town, fantastic dinner (food & wine), organized for kids and very welcoming!!!
Review 17:Hamdulilah (thanks to Allah i should say) Nothing really but The breakfast menu to be enriched it is really limited...
Review 18:Calm place Nice and respectful people play place for kids (indoor) in the restaurent very close to down town
Review 19:Heating was a problem, at first....but was readily solved by the friendly staff.
Review 20:The location is perfect...right across the street from the entrance into one of Alsace's most picturesque and unique, historically preserved 10th century towns. It is also centrally located and near some excellent, Alsatien Wineries. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had some issue with our Parents room with regard to heating, which was solved by the friendly staff. The restaurant had delicious, local cuisine at very affordable prices with breakfast included. Great stay for all...highly recommend walking the entire village, amazingly preserved with very friendly residents...as well as using the village as your base to visit Colmar and other noteworthy locations...
Review 21:Limited parking space. If it is full, u have to find yourself a parking outside the hotel. No reservation can be made for the parking space. First come first serve!
Review 22:Good location. Just 3 minutes walk to the town Center. Breakfast is nice.
Review 23:At check in, the older gentleman accused me of not notifying them of my dog. I told him three times that per my Booking.com reservation, I noted "1 dog (chien)" for them. If they did not get the message, that is Booking.com's fault. Second, at check out I was presented a receipt - a credit card sized receipt - for my stay. I asked the younger gentleman twice if I need to stay and he said "No, payment was through the internet". Third, I get an email from Booking.com saying that I was NO SHOW. Fourth, I get another email from Booking.com saying I need to contact the hotel directly with my credit card details since payment was not accepted through the internet. Absolute worst hotel experience and Booking.com experience. I've used Booking.com several times and Booking.com's lack of interest to resolve this issue makes me feel that they do not care about my business.
Review 24:Great location and secured parking.
Review 25:We stayed here for 1 night with my in-laws. We stayed in room 206 and my inlaws in the room next door. We woke in the morning to see we had been very badly attacked by bed bugs. A week later and I am still covered in red bites. My inlaws also found bed bugs in their room. The guy on the desk was apologetic and we did not have to pay for either room, however, the fact we had bed bugs did not seem to come as a surprise.
Review 26:Lots of dark passageways and stairwells!
Review 27:Well situated in the beautiful town of Eguisheim. We were three friends sharing and the room was a bit of a tight fit. But otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast and close to everything in the town.
Review 28:Nothing!
Review 29:A very good budget pet friendly hotel Very clean, we had no complaints whatsoever. The proprietor was very friendly. We stayedfor 1 night on 9 september on our journey home from Italy and will stay there again on our next journey. Great location in thr heart of eguisheim
Review 30:Wonderfully warm and welcoming family-run inn and restaurant in an exquisite location - charming village, beautiful countryside. Could not recommend it highly enough and fully intend to stay here again.
Review 31:The parking in the hotel's courtyard is rather awkward to access, but here are public car parks nearby. Although the hotel appears traditional, the rooms are rather dreary 60s style. This made for a rather disappointing arrival, but the room was very clean and the best comfortable, so it was fine for an overnight stop. Whilst the central location is great for evening strolling, it does lead to early morning noise from buses and the bin-men!
Review 32:The location of the hotel is right at the heart of a most charming Alsace village with a variety of good restaurants and shops. The external appearance is traditional, and the welcome friendly. In fact, the owner moved his own car to make room for ours when he saw us struggling to find a space! The inclusive breakfast was simple but very well presented in the stylish restaurant.
Review 33:- Rooms on the street side are noisy in the early morning as the rubbish collection starts. - Absence of air conditioning may mean the rooms are hot in the summer. - Liquid soap dispensers in the bathroom rather than real soap.
Review 34:- Free parking in the hotel yard. - An excellent breakfast included in the very competitive price. - The hotel is in the centre of this pretty village. - A 15 minute drive to Colmar if you wish to visit this mediaeval town.
Review 35:被罩枕套没烘干,有味道,其他卫生还好。102浴室推拉门几乎是坏的。 Quilt and pillowcase is not dry, the smell. In the room102, bathroom door is almost bad.
Our 3 persons room is large, the bathroom is large too. Our room is near the roadside, but the Windows is insulation, not noisy. There are vrey good breakfast! Hotel is very close Colmar, 10 minutes by car. Good value for money, and there are a very good restaurant in face.
Review 37:Nothing.
Review 38:Location.

Review 48:Good location! We saw several storks in the neighbourhood: nice extra :)
Review 49:No air-conditioning and it was hot! They did, however, find a fan for us.
Review 50:Great location, good service, and free parking.
Review 51:Very helpful staff, really appreciated letting us check in early.
Review 52:nothing
Review 53:everything. the staff was very cooperative. the location excellent
Review 54:The staffs are very nice and helpful. Also, they provide a free parking place.
Review 55:Very small room
Review 56:great location, right by the oldest part of Eguisheim very helpful administrators lovely breakfast good value for money marvelous village
Review 57:No air condition
Review 58:the room located on the street side
Review 59:service, food, location
Review 60:Restaurant waiting times could be improved
Review 61:Excellent location for visiting the village and nearby villages in Alsace. Good, safe car parking. Excellent restaurant, well presented food and wine list.
Review 62:Great view of 3 Chateaux, stork's nest and country side to the west. Quiet, clean, newly remodeled. Great breakfast. Owners work hard and are very friendly. Restaurant good food.
Review 63:The whole hotel was warm, welcoming and the staff were excellent - could not have been more helpful. The food and the wine in the restaurant was excellent and very good value - local produce and wine as well!
Review 64:The door to our room was flimsy. We could hear everything going on in the hall, which for some reason was quite a bit. We were kept awake through the night by loud voices. Other than this, the hotel was perfect.
Review 65:great location for exploring the Alsace region. We went to see the Christmas markets in the area, a shuttle bus picked us up and brought us to the other villages. This village is quiet and beautiful, and the hotel was very comfortable.
Review 66:The rooms and hallway seemed old and dirty. The carpet was old dirty andugly. Like many hotels in France, the beds are rather hard.
Review 67:Good location. Good breakfast. Rooms are fairly large.
Review 68:Internet connection was not working, and almost no effort was taken to fix it. The personnel was quite rough and careless, with no sense of hospitality at all.
Review 69:I can only say the bedrooms on the street side are a bit noisy if you're sensible to noise. But that's really all to complain about, the rest was wonderful
Review 70:Perfectly situated in the small (and beautiful) village of Eguisheim. The restaurant is just wonderful, try the Soufflet de brochet, you'll be delighted. The reception has been very helpful, changing room because of a personal problem was done in a matter of minutes, with a smile. Also did not hesitate to make a research for a garage for me, because my car had a problem. Excellent stay overall, we'll want to come back for sure!
Review 71:There is no door to the toilet/bathroom. No aircondition. Breakfastfine, but only from 8 o’clock.
Review 72:Private parking (closed from 22 – 8), free internet but it turns out allthe time, friendly personal,
Review 73:L'Hostellerie Des Comtes is in the lovely town of Eguisheim, very much a Hanzel and Gretel town(my opnion)Our room was on the second floor, a large Attic room with a view out to the back. Large double bed and the wardrobe/shelving was very good and gave plenty of storage. Adequate room to walk round the bed. The bathroom was not the biggest we have ever had but it had a full size bath with shower over. It had a good sized car park. Good breakfast with plenty of choice in the morning, they did do evening meals but we did not eat there.
Review 74:The managing couple are very much performing their duties to theirconvenience. Closing the restaurant at 8:15 pm when it states it is openuntil 9:00 pm. They did offer me a slice of cold pie - I opted to walk80 yards to the La Pavillion de Gourmand restaurant where they tookexcellent care of my dinner needs for both nights. The management usethe very limited guest parking for their own vehicle - forcing guests topark some quarter mile away and struggle with luggage through town. After cancelling the first night of stay, within the stipulated nocharge cancellation framework, upon checkout they insisted that thecancelled night be paid for. Only when I got it through to them that Iwould cancel the entire transaction through my Visa provider the minuteI walk out of the hotel, they finally agreed to the non-chargeablecancellation. So, in a nutshell, arriving was not a very nice experienceand leaving was even more unpleasant. If theses people are the owners, then shame on them, if not the owner should hopefully address the poorservice. The waiter at breakfast was friendly and efficient I will say.
Review 75:The breakfast was pleasing.
Review 76:I did not speek frensh so I found it quite difficult to deal w hotel. They charge full rate for 4 year old kid for breakfast. Also it locatedin noisey intersection.
