Reviews for Citôtel Hôtel Monet
Review 1:Uphill walk back from town centre but interesting to walk through old part of town.
Review 2:Friendly, helpfull owners. Excellent breakfast, kettle in the room and free on site parking! What more could you want?
Review 3:The location was perfect only 5min away from the village. The hotel has a family touch and the owner is very nice and helpful. We definitly would recommend that hotel!
Review 4:Locking the bedroom French windows is a little tricky. We are very old so having had a problem, we asked for a repeat demo and to be supervised doing it ourselves. Easy once you know how - just like our similar - but slightly different windows at home in UK!
Review 5:Very friendly helpful couple running hotel. Gave us good advice about local restaurants, naming several in no particular order. We ended up with dinner at one which was excellent, and they confirmed at breakfast it was their favourite (obviously no names!). Easy walk into town.
Review 6:Breakfast would benefit from a modern ground coffee machine (as seems to be standard in most three star hotels)
Review 7:Good sized room with two comfortable double beds (rather than twin single beds)
Review 8:Nothing - but if you find walking difficult this may not be ideal location for you.
Review 9:Modern clean décor Warm welcome from owner Private seating outside room with sun shade Breakfast in the garden Quiet location short walk down hill to busy tourist area.
Review 10:It feels not like a hotel but more like a motel. It is located on a very steep hill. It is about 20 minutes climbing up from the Honfleur port.
Review 11:The owners are friendly people. The wife speaks English, the husband did not.
Review 12:I expext from a three star hotel to serve a buffet breakfast for this price instead of an upgraded continental. The hotel is situated on a hill, 10 mins walk from downtown.
Review 13:The 21st century accomodation is excellent. The room we got was spacious and relaxing. Free private parking space. The staff is friendly and helpfull. Overall very good value for your money.
Review 14:Charming does not begin to describe this little gem of a hotel. Everywhere you turn there is evidence of a loving, artistic touch. There is a small terrace outside each room. Parking is available. The traditional French breakfast was delightful. The hosts are most gracious (when asked, they will guide you to restaurants where the locals eat).Within walking distance of the center of Honfleur. This was our favorite place to stay during our 2 week visit to France (eight different hotels).
Review 15:The shower in room 1. Would have expected something way better for the price. Accessing wifi was a bit of a hassle too.
Review 16:Great people, very welcoming. The car park is big. The hotel is charming and quiet and very close to the center of Honfleur.
Review 17:Nothing not to like but maybe a guest lounge would be really nice in winter or inclement weather.
Review 18:The room with its own terrace including furniture. Spacious bathroom, good shower and fittings. Parking available on site. nice and warm with controlable heating.
Review 19:Somewhat run down condition. It was a hike back up to hotel after dinner which was fine with us but would've s challenge for those with any mobility issues
Review 20:Relatively quiet and convenient parking
Review 21:Excellent location, with parking. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean.Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful.
Review 22:The shower in the bath was quite tricky to use and there was no curtain, although part of it was protected by the wall.
Review 23:Easy to reach without having to drive through the town of Honfleur, which is very congested. Very clean and nice outside space to sit in the sun. Lovely breakfasts with lots of choice.
Review 24:Room too hot and not able to leave window open due to being on ground floor. Nowhere to put bits in the bedroom.
Review 25:Location and parking good. Short walk to restuarants.
Review 26:An excellent hotel very close to the centre on Honfleur. Tucked away on a quiet street. Friendly welcoming staff. We will definitely return and recommend you to anyone wishing to stay in that region.
Review 27:Offered an upgrade online for10euros for bigger room with twin beds The room had twin beds and a double bed so there was actually less space there were only 2of us why would we need extra beds Felt had been conned
Review 28:Space was a little bit at a premium since we found it a little cramped - but we had two large suitcases and a plethora of bags.
Review 29:It was spotlessly clean and it was evident the owners worked very hard and took great pride in making this a most charming place to stay. The owners were cheerful and very helpful. I would recommend.
Review 30:Walk back to hotel after drinks and food was like scaling the North face of the Eiger ! Also room was a bit cramped.
Review 31:Access to harbour area with bars and restaurants nice gentle walk downhill took about 8 mins.
Review 32:Nothing at all.
Review 33:Briiliant place. Nice rooms, parking right in front of it, an excellent breakfast and the best staff we can think of. We love it.
Review 34:helpful staff, thoughtful

Review 77:Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom
Review 78:Great location near the center & with parking available which is key. The rooms were comfortable & clean.
Review 79:Plastic cups for tea, difficult wifi and lack of chair.
Review 80:Location and ambience
Review 81:We've stayed at Monet several times and there's nothing to dislike - although some guests might find the walk back from Honfleur centre a challenge as last bit is quite steep.
Review 82:Charming & efficient hosts always make us feel welcome. Lots of information provided about Honfleur & local attractions. Quiet location with secure parking. Good choice at breakfast with fresh bread & croissants and freshly made coffee. The latter is surprisingly not always provided in French hotels.
Review 83:A bit tricky to find, especially on a busy Sunday evening. Some rugs would be nice.
Review 84:Friendly and helpful proprietors Nice breakfast Very private, but convenient to town
Review 85:Nothing.
Review 86:Great room, super clean. Very friendly staff. It's a little bit of a hike up the hill, but not a big deal at all. Cannot beat this value for the money.
Review 87:We absolutely loved hotel Monet. There is free street parking or parking within the facility. The staff were so welcoming and helpful with our every need. The room was spotless, modern and really luxurious. The kettle and tea and coffee was a huge plus! Breakfast was delicious with lots of local jams and lovely fresh pastries. We slept so well here as it is so quiet up on the mountain. A few minutes walk to the harbour, Honfleur is so charming and this hotel was great. Please note wifi is only available in the reception area / breakfast room.
Review 88:Free car park in private courtyard. Charm, calm and close to city center. Nice staff, very helpfull and good advices for restaurants. Romantic !
Review 89:Room: modern, very comfortable decor, very roomy, very clean. Hosts friendly and helpful. Breakfast: adequate, tasty, prompt. Location: 5 minute walk from harbor/shops/restaurants but away from town hustle. Accessible to Normandy beaches and Giverny not far away, on the way back to Paris!
Review 90:We drove through the countryside to reach it, yet it was walking distance from the old port of Honfleur Low key, and friendly. Clean and modern rooms.
Review 91:Location was up a very steep hill and parking area very tight. It was arather closed- in property. Late check-in at 5:00. Hosts were onlyavailable in the morning and evening during certain hours. Internetconnection very poor.
Review 92:Very nice hosts who spoke English. Well decorated, remodeled rooms andlarge bathroom. Nice outside area and patio off of first floor rooms.
Review 93:Room was not as nice as photos on web. We had a rather worn out room. The breakfast cost 9,50e a day. It is like a motel breakfast. Most of the food is in plastic wrap from a supermarket. They do give you one croissant and a pice of fresh bread that is not in plastic. You can eat breakfast right down the street for better value.
Review 94:Close to town. Quiet location. Easy access with parking.
Review 95:More of a motel than a hotel, no fan/fridge in room, the floweredcourtyard that the rooms look out onto is also the car park sosomewhat misleading in the description. Plastic cups in bathroom ( apet hate I admit )
Review 96:Easy walking distance into Honfleur (if you dont mind an uphill walk onreturn). Clean and well appoinited. Cant comment on breakfast as ate outbut breakfast area looked cramped .
Review 97:Breakfast was good but an expensive add-on. Wi-Fi only works in public areas.
Review 98:A very comfortable hotel within 10 minutes walking of the heart of Honfleur. Nice hosts, clean and comfortable room.
Review 99:The hill walking back from town! It actually wasn't that bad, but seemed it looking up towards the hotel from town
Review 100:The individual and unique designs of the rooms, its closeness to the town centre but still very, very quiet in the evening and night time. The outside seating area by each room was very nice to sit out with a drink and have a nice rest. The owners didn't bother you at all and were very pleasant.
Review 101:Driving in hon flour is a bit confusing- small town but lots of small one way roads! There are signs to the hotel so not too much if a problem.
Review 102:Very friendly staff, spoke goid english and gave lots of advice. well decorated and clean room which had a patio outside. Lovely town- the hotel is situated up a small hill, which was a much needed walk after some of the 3 course meals in town.
Review 103:Internet didn't work in the room, had a weak signal that only works in the dining area/lobby.
Review 104:The staff was wonderful and spoke excellent english. The location is excellent for car travelers because you don't have to park on the street, but are still within walking distance of the town center. Rooms are stylish and comfortable.
Review 105:We had a lovely room, comfortable and spacious. Location is good with parking onsite, very important. A short walk into town although a bit uphill on way back.
Review 106:All was good.
Review 107:charming, plenty of parking yet just a short walk into town. Great patio in front of room to enjoy a glass a wine. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Review 108:Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with large bathroom & good shower. Great location with free parking: invaluable in Honfleur. Decent basic continental breakfast.
Review 109:The owners of this delightful hotel are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. We were given terrific recommendations for dinner both nights, enjoyed breakfast on the terrace laid out for us. The hotel is wonderful for patrons with a vehicle.
Review 110:The glass door when sealing the felt like we were in an airtight container as there is no airflow. Very humid in the room with two people sleeping, the conditions woke me up. I think they need to look at that. The other think was the use of small plastic cups for tea making, made it look cheap and unsafe. Shower was a little bit cool but not sure if that was due to the weather or if it was set that way.
Review 111:The room was a good size, and there was parking onsite. Easy walk to the centre of town.
Review 112:Very friendly couple running the hotel, but more like a motel. Very convenient and good price for an overnite stay. Long walk to town, so we used our auto. Perfect for our top over on our way to Normandy and Mont St. Michel.
Review 113:Is not their fault...i booked twins beds instead of double bed.Not really a problem.
Review 114:Very nice place, staff very polite and friendly.Room was clean, warm and comfortable inside
Review 115:The only negative thing about this hotel was not being able to checkin until 5pm
Review 116:The positives of this hotel were , being within walking distance of thecentre of town & the free parking.
Review 117:I am not sure what is the market rate for Honfleur, but this stay wasquite expensive, it should at least include breakfast
Review 118:Clean, friendly staff, easy walk to the port/city centre
Review 119:Not all rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. The hill up to thehotel could be a bit steep for some. I don't really think breakfast isworth the money, although it was nice.
Review 120:Booking was straightforward and quick. Hotel Monet turned out to be evenbetter than we expected. The rooms are lovely and clean and now, havingbeen twice, consistently good. Some rooms bigger than others, but greatbathrooms and comfy beds! The staff are friendly and helpful, with a range of English spoken(!) The location is good, being just up the hill on the edge of Honfleur.. so totally walkable to town, but quiet and great for a relaxing break. When booking online for a particular date we could only book a twin room, but asked the hotel and they were able to change it for a double. They have a range of local info available, books to borrow, and readily recommended good restaurants. We love it.
