Reviews for Le Normandy
Review 1:Nothing to comment on.
Review 2:The location of the hotel being Centre ville and close to the beach and facitiies. The restaurant is very good and the menu selection caters for all.
Review 3:No tea and coffee facility. Blankets, not duvets; we were cold at night. Small bed.
Review 4:The food in the restaurant. Easy parking right by the hotel. Pretty village and easy access to beach.
Review 5:Very small double bed for a superior room, Old blankets for covers. No hair dryer. Then at 8.30 after our meal the bar and lounge area was closed and locked. Only access to rooms. Nobody available till 8.00 in the morning. The girl who served us looked like she had swallowed a wasp. On the reception a note says English Spoken, Only one person could speak English when he was there.
Review 6:The location was very good and close to the beach. Parking was also good we managed to park outside the hotel. Because there was only two rooms booked.
Review 7:No coffee or tea making facilities in room. Toilets in bar were clean but strange smell coming from bin.
Review 8:Staff very helpful and friendly. Food good. Bed very comfortable
Review 9:The Hotel's location in the town centre with a market on Wednesday morning. Wissant is ideal for access to the Channel Tunnel. Definitely recommend the Rhum Baba.
Review 10:We were initially put in a room with maintenance going on in the room above. A lot of banging, sawing and crashing was going on and it was impossible to rest. Admittedly this was the middle of the afternoon, but we had been travelling since early morning and I wanted to rest for an hour. I complained and with some reluctance we were moved to another room which was much quieter. Apart from the bad start the rest of our stay was very comfortable.
Review 11:Comfortable room, and good breakfast.
Review 12:Inability to achieve uninterrupted sleep at night due to insomniac carthorse impersonator in the room immediately above, who managed at least 8 circuits of his room's laminate flooring during the night and early hours.
Review 13:The restaurant and breakfast service
Review 14:No sea view from our room at all. It was dark when we arrived so had looked forward to the view in the morning. Unfortunately there was just the car park at the front and another building and fire escape at the back. It was a family facility - two rooms with beds in them and one bathroom, not a superior room I had expected as a treat for us.
Review 15:The meal was good. Nice village near the sea.
Review 16:The room was very very small and very old furniture. The Hotel claims to be very close to the beach and have a sea view. That is veeeeeery exagerated. The restaurant is too touristic. The staff claimed that one can have dinner from 19:30 till 20:30 and then will be closed... Overall, it was a mistake to stay there but ok for just one night. Parking is a problem....
Review 17:The bathroom was ok, small but ok.
Review 18:The bedroom (and the "sea view" was a bit 'Fawlty Towers'; stretch your neck and you could just see a strip of blue between a row of houses at the back!) See other box re staff.
Review 19:The dining room. The food. Half of the encountered staff were pleasant and helpful, the other half a bit distant.
Review 20:Wi Fi only worked in the bedrooms so could not be checked over a cup of coffee. The rooms were on the small side but had good views over the sea.
Review 21:The restaurant was excellent, the food we all had was well cooked and delicious.....we tried another restaurant the next evening which is supposedly the number one in Wissant and were slightly disappointed by comparison.
Review 22:Bedroom rather cramped
Review 23:Excellent food both dinner and breakfast. Close to the sea front and excellent location in the village with good parking. Very helpful staff, especially the owner. Good shower and bathroom. We would certainly go again.
Review 24:We felt that the terrace area in front of the hotel lacked a little TLC, despite it being a public thoroughfare. Maybe some more modern casual seating, clean ashtrays and general tidying. Pity the gardens at the back had no seating/drinks service.
Review 25:Excellent dinner with very attentive service, good breakfast.
Review 26:Beautiful location. Lovely, welcoming staff. Food in the restaurant is excellent.
Review 27:On a nice day Wissant is a pleasant seaside village with good beaches.
Review 28:Hotel very dated. Stair carpets very tatty. 'Sea view' was looking across back of buildings.
Review 29:Rooms have been upgraded. Staff were friendly.
Review 30:All areas rather tired looking, in need of modernisation/ improved decor
Review 31:very good position in pleasant village very close to wonderful beach
Review 32:the food helpfulness of the staff
Review 33:Lack of lift
Review 34:Friendly staff Good dinner and continental breakfast Location in heart of village and near to beach
Review 35:Friendly and helpful staff. Nice food.
Review 36:Double bed was too small
Review 37:the location, friendly staff and good sea view
Review 38:Great hotel center of village, close to beach, food great, room clean and tidy, service was very friendly and helpful.
Review 39:steep stairs, small steps- to rooms small bed
Review 40:location and view
Review 41:Wi fi was a bit hit and miss.
Review 42:Everything - we had a great time.
Review 43:wi-fi non existent most of the time
Review 44:very french
Review 45:Only that the wi fi was hard to access.
Review 46:Almost everything was brilliant.
Review 47:nothing
Review 48:comfortable room and good food. located in the centre of the town.
Review 49:The whole atmosphere at Le Normandy is exactly what you would expect in a French hotel. In addition, as usual the food is first class
Review 50:Room and bathroom were clean but dated. Bar shut at 9.30. Very limited choice for breakfast.
Review 51:Location, staff, was able to secure my motorcycle in rear garden. View was excellent
Review 52:Bedroom and bed could be bigger
Review 53:Sea views. Situated in the centre of the quiet village with its selection of eating places and a small amount of shops. Bedroom was small but clean, the shower exceptional. Restaurant offered excellent selection of food and drink and would go there to eat even if not staying. Helpful, friendly staff and management. Easy to park outside or opposite. Short walk to the beach and walking paths. Wifi and English tv. programmes.
Review 54:The main problem was the very uncomfortable hard beds with sheets and blankets. The bed looked like a double, but was actually two very narrow singles. The pillows were hard and lumpy.
Review 55:Location very good. Staff friendly, the owner spoke excellent English. The food was good in the evening, the breakfast was more basic and limited choice. The room was spacious with lovely views of the sea and sunsets. We would stay there again, but the beds were so uncomfortable and we're not sure our backs can take it!
Review 56:Very small room and bedding needs updating. Quirky but nice!
Review 57:Location in centre and easy walking to the beach. Lovely market Friday evening in the square. Great new shower rooms. Enjoyed continental breakfast with very friendly waitress.
Review 58:Very basic breakfast and it's an extra not included in the room price. Not a croissant in sight! I went across the road to the patisserie so we could have some.
Review 59:Lovely view of the sea. Quiet. Excellent shower.
Review 60:poor service; no hairdryer (had to ask for one); one power point in the whole room; poor TV signal (impossible to watch majority of the channels); very poor breakfast selection with produce not being replaced unless asked for
Review 61:location; good bathroom for the standard of the room; nice sea view from the bedroom window; basic but pleasant decor
Review 62:Elderly and disabled clients would have trouble without a lift to 1st and 2nd floor rooms. Parking is free but busy and used by both hotel clients, local residents and tourists - a case of first come, first served.
Review 63:Good location in a lovely little village on the pas de Calais coast. Staff were friendly and accommodating and restaurant menu was excellent.
Review 64:Room rather small and spartan but adequate. Only one chair (wooden), one electric socket, bed low and with soft mattress. TV reception good for French channels but not for English channels.
Review 65:Plenty of friendly staff, excellent restaurant, short walk to pleasant sandy beach/promenade, patisserie and other shops in same square and having the menu translated into English helped us too! Clean and well lit with good lighting.
Review 66:Bedrooms small and basic.
Review 67:Friendly staff and helpful. food very good
Review 68:Pokey bedroom. Poor breakfast. My wife was bitten by some insect in the bed
Review 69:Location
