Reviews for Hôtel Saint Hubert

Review 1:The hotel is very convenint for travellers with a car - very close to the village centre, free private parking. The room was perfect, very spacious, cosy, well equipped with everything you may need.

Review 2:Transportation to other villages but if a problem . Bus service limited: taxi not a problem.

Review 3:The owner was SO helpful and accommodating. Especially with transportation and logistics. A nice local , independent B and B

Review 4:We stayed only for one night and did not have any dislikes

Review 5:For a family of four we had a very spacious room. Peaceful and easy access into the village.

Review 6:Wifi doesn't work in rooms and doesn't always work in lobby. But, this was a vacation so we really didn't need to be connected.

Review 7:Exceptionally clean and well-appointed. Large rooms with nice European style beds. Breakfast was lovely.

Review 8:Great location in Eguisheim vineyards. 5-10 minutes walking distance from the beautiful village center. 10 minutes drive from Colmar center. Karin, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. Room was very comfortable, well suited and large enough for our family (with 2 children). Breakfast was great. The small swimming pool was refreshing, well maintained and very useful after a long day of touring the beautiful places in the nearby area.

Review 9:The thoughtfulness and care taken by the owner over our arrival and during our stay was very good indeed. The room and small private garden area was very pleasing and the swimming pool excellent. The situation in the vineyards but within walking distance of the village was ideal and pleasing.

Review 10:Use of sauna without having to reserve/pay at the end of a hard days cycling/ wine tasting would make it perfect!

Review 11:Friendly, helpful proprietors. The breakfast was fantastic - fruits, breads & brioche, lovely hams & cheeses, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs with bacon. We hired bikes for two days but still gained weight! Lovely pool. Location just outside the old town so very quiet but a short 5 min stroll to restaurants etc. Perfect base in Alsace.

Review 12:Poor wi-fi. No air conditioning which wasn't a temp issue but leaving windows open allowed cigarette smoke from other guests come into the room.

Review 13:Good location, very friendly owner. Comfortable room and nice bathroom. Okay breakfast but not price valued. Enjoyed pool

Review 14:The breakfast. The breakfast room was really nice and also enjoyed having assigned seating every day. The food at breakfast just was not very tasty. The spread was fine, lots to choose from, but maybe it was just the quality of the ingredients, but the breakfast could use improvement. Also there were little trash cans at each table which we didn't even know that's what they were for until we saw other people using them.

Review 15:We loved our friendly hosts and the size and comfort of our room. The pool area was excellent including a sauna. They also gave us a bath seat to use for our very young son. The location is gorgeous, steps from town and overlooking a vineyard and mountains and forests. Property very clean.

Review 16:Our room had a wall that was sloped alongside the bed, making it easy to hit your head when going to or getting up from bed.

Review 17:Outside of the town center, so quiet and free parking. Easy walk to town center. Indoor swimming pool. Friendly and helpful proprietor.

Review 18:I would have liked coffee or tea making facilities in the room.

Review 19:the location, the pool, the view the breakfast. The friendliness of the owner who spoke several languages.

Review 20:We stayed in a lovely triple room that looked out into the vineyards. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, the staff friendly and helpful, and the village of Eguisheim is beautiful and only a few blocks away. The pool was great fun for our kids and breakfast was delicious!

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:We liked everything! The hotel was well signposted before entering the village so it was easy to find. We were met with a very warm welcome from the owner and her delightful little grandson. Madame spoke excellent English and had information and a map of the town ready for us. She helpfully explained different restaurant options to us within easy walking distance. Our room was not large but was comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The swimming pool and sun terrace were an added bonus. Breakfast was served in a light airy room. Again the owner and her staff were very helpful. The homemade pate was delicious! All in all a lovely place to stay on the edge of the village surrounded by vineyards.

Review 23:The owner and staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were very good. The location was excellent- positioned in a quiet area and close walking distance to the very beautiful, medieval town centre.Ideal location to explore the surrounding area by bicycle or car.

Review 24:Easy walk to all of Egusheim but you get to stay amongst the vineyards. Karen could not do enough... Her care for guests is wonderful. Everything was clean and maintained. Breakfast was a bit expensive given the price for a regular room, but the food was very good. We recommended a visit.

Review 25:No wi-fi in room but otherwise nothing. All good.

Review 26:Location very good , about 10 minutes walk from Eguisheim centre. Pleasant surroundings with views over vineyards. Welcoming and helpful staff. Extremely comfortable room and bathroom, immaculately clean. Super breakfast. Free parking. Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked inviting.

Review 27:Friendly staff, location

Review 28:The friendliness of the welcome, the size of the room & the comfortable beds

Review 29:No internet connection no air conditioning

Review 30:No complaints!

Review 31:Excellent, friendly family hotel, within easy walking of the lovely town

Review 32:Having a swimming pool to take out the stress after a long drive. Eguisheim is just a beautiful place to stay

Review 33:We did not like the 3 hour pool closure in the middle of the day, which was strictly enforced.

Review 34:The room with the terrace and the pool

Review 35:None

Review 36:Good location, very clean, good breakfast and pleasant owner

Review 37:the worst mattress we ever had, you just sink in it. sleeping terrible.

Review 38:nice location, large room, very nice helpful owner. excellent breakfast,

Review 39:Karin was so nice and was always helpful.A very well run Hotel.Breakfast was delicious. The indoor pool after along day was very welcoming.

Review 40:The hotel was in a very convenient location for walking into the town. The swimming pool was excellent and the owner was very helpful with advice on things of interest in the area and recommendations for restaurants and wine Caves.

Review 41:The only slight problem was that there was't enough parking in the hotel but we parked on a very quiet cul de sac outside the hotel and it wasn't a problem.

Review 42:We received a very warm welcome from the owner. When we initially said we didn't want breakfast that wasn't a problem (we changed our minds and had breakfast in the end!). The hotel is situated only a short (5 min) walk from the extraordinary village of Eguisheim. There was a music festival and lots of shops/restaurants/wine merchants! It was very hot but fans were provided and the pool was very refreshing. In the morning we had an excellent breakfast which kept us going until dinner so it was worth the expense. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. We had the family room which was very spacious with an amazing bathroom.

Review 43:Well managed. Private terrace in the garden attached to our room. Excellent breakfast. Caring owner who gave us a comprehensive guide to the restaurants in the village, and offered an early breakfast for us on our departure day. An air of quality about the property. Swimming pool bigger and better than we thought. Beautiful views. We were in the middle of the vineyards, but in easy walking distance to the village.

Review 44:Very hot weather when we were there and lack of a/c very apparent especially at night. Seems more like a guest house converted to an Hotel, parking limited. Not in the historic town but a few hundred metres out - rapidly losing its vineyard views as it becomes surrounded by new private dwellings. Steep drive might be difficult for some older guests.

Review 45:Ultra-friendly and helpful owners. Good breakfast on pleasant terrace. Very pleasant indoor pool. Our room had its own little terrace with table and umbrella.

Review 46:- Our boys missed a grassfield outside where they could play football. - the heavy and warm down duvet on the beds. These were (for us) too hot for the time of year (spring/summer)

Review 47:- very friendly lady at the reception, who pays personal attention to all her guests - nice breakfast with home-made paté and confiture - clean rooms. We especially liked the room with small terrace with view on the vinyards

Review 48:Nothing.

Review 49:Eguisheim is a delightful, picturesque village. The Hotel Saint Hubert provided a perfect location to explore this town and other villages in Alsace. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Review 50:Noisy and unfriendly place. This is not really a hotel but rather asorts of b&b run exclusively by the owner. They're only interested in turning a profit so they don't care one bit about accommodating your needs. Limited check-in/check-out hours. Breakfast needs to be booked in advance (11 euros) and you'd better have it or you'll upset the owner. Internet only in the hallway and very poor. Very noisy early in the morning so forget about sleeping in.

Review 51:It was a place to sleep

Review 52:Nothing really, maybe they could add youghurt to the breakfast buffet

Review 53:Friendliness of Staff. Local Touch, Big, modern clean room, breakfast in the middle on the vineyard

Review 54:Great location, beautiful views of the mountains and vineyards. Friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. Petite Dejeunais very tasty! Nice pool as well.

Review 55:Friendly people, comfortable hotel, great location in the vineyards butwithin walking distance of the little town of Eguisheim. Reasonablypriced as well.

Review 56:We had some problems with the Internet connection. It would also be nice if the connection was available in the rooms.

Review 57:The owner, Karen was very helpful and pleasant. Very close to the town, just down the street, but far enough to be very peaceful and quiet. Also very close drive to other small villages. Nice room with bathtub.

Review 58:Don't expect a warm welcome if you arrive after 6pm. Although the hotelreception sign says it is manned until 2100, at 2030 we received a callfrom " madame" wanting to know if we were still coming. ( We were andwere barely 5 minutes away). Frosty is an appropriate description of ourreception. It was clear that we were interfering with the ownerspersonal arrangements. We were told very specifically that breakfastwould not be available until 0800 the next day.As the parking at the hotel is limited and we had bikes on the back of our car and did not want to leave the car in an unlit road, we asked the owner if we could park in the driveway. Begrudgingly they agreed to move their car and permit us to park more securely. This is not a hotel that will win any awards for charm or warm welcome. If cleanliness is your important criteria, its fine. Breakfast was adequate and complete with a sign asking people not to take food away. Next morning, after asking Madame, we were told how to access the wifi areas of the hotel. We could not wait to leave.

Review 59:The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped with ikea furniture. There is no air conditioning, so the room was rather hot on arrival. Thebathroom is well equipped and with a good supply of good towels

Review 60:The hotel closed at midday on the Sunday so we couldn't leave our bagsinside which was a little impractical for us as we had wanted to spendthe Sunday in Eguisheim. We could leave our bags outside though and itis a very quiet, safe area.

Review 61:The hotel is perfectly located amidst the Eguisheim vineyards and has alovely pool and a nice, light breakfast room and our bed was big andcomfortable. The owner is a very friendly lady.

Review 62:The room was clean and bright, the staff very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I also liked the short distance from the city center and the scenic view around the hotel. I definitely want to stay there again.

Review 63:Very friendly and helpful staff Excellent breakfast Swimming pool very relaxing after the very hot day Provided overnight storage space for the road bikes

Review 64:The bed was a bit soft.

Review 65:We were very pleased with the breakfasts at Hotel Saint Hubert. Also, Karen, our host, was able to easily slip from French to English to German to help whatever guest she was speaking to at the moment.

Review 66:Fantastic swimming pool, lovely staff, helpful at suggesting appropriate restaurants with local speciality foods which would accommodate kids, delicious breakfast.

Review 67:Nothing atall - would not hesitate to recommend to friends

Review 68:From the start the owners were so welcoming and helpful with informationon local restaurants etc (which proved to be spot on). The pool was areal bonus allowing us to relax and cool off before going out to enjoythe local cuisine. Breakfast was always very well prepared andpresented. Room staff were particularily good - invariably having ourroom done and finished before we returned from breakfast. The locationwas perfect being a short walk from the old town of Eguisheim, but farenough out to be relaxing and quiet.

Review 69:Nothing at all

Review 70:We were made most welcome at the hotel. The apartment style room was ideal for us - our teenage daughter had a room to herself. The small pool and terrace were very pleasant. The breakfast was very good, great choice and variety. The hotel was spotless throughout. We enjoyed two very good evening meals in the village at restaurants recommended by our hosts.

Review 71:Purpose built premises, so rooms are sound proofed - good night sleep.Well layed out design so that pool and sun area take advantage of thesun, and the breakfast room overlooks the Rhine Valley. Owners wereexcellent, friendly but didn't overly bother you. Breakfast choice wasgreat. Location is excellent, short stroll into the lovely village.Perfect - couldn't fault the owners or the premises, would highlyrecommend it to anyone.

Review 72:Our only criticism would be the lack of any tea or coffee making facilities.

Review 73:We liked the location just on the edge of Eguisheim, easy walk into the village and several places to eat. Karin made us feel very welcome and even spoke to all their guests in their native language!

Review 74:We loved our stay at Hotel Saint Hubert. We were warmly greeted by Madame Karen. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. The hotel is within walking distance to the village. Parking was very convenient and Karen and Henri were very informed about good places to eat in Equisheim. We were pleased with their recommendations. We would definitely stay there again.
