Reviews for Premier Inn Bedford - Priory Marina

Review 1:Breakfast was ample and tasty. We had one bad experience at breakfast when it took 50 minutes to come out. Staff apologised and refunded cost of breakfast. Breakfast out quickly on other mornings.

Review 2:Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, comfy beds though rooms starting to show signs of being tired. Great location easy walk 30 mins along the river to Bedford centre.

Review 3:We always go for a twin room but the second bed is always a made up sofa ( or so it seems ) with a dodgy mattress. Premier Inn could surely afford proper twin beds in some rooms or even twin doubles.

Review 4:The staff both on reception and cleaners were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Review 5:The quilt had a stain on it and had to be changed. We had a disabled room and felt that having a wet room would be more suitable than a climb in bath.

Review 6:Location and staff Lovely breakfast

Review 7:Decor needed a freshen up and bathroom also needed attention but only minor ... Also bigger tv's required in the rooms about 32" would be perfect

Review 8:Nice big rooms ,nice bed perfect location and plenty of parking spaces with cv camera . Also reception were very plesent on arrival ??

Review 9:Bad smell in the room.Massive stain on the carpet. Bathroom was dirty. Long wait for the cooked option at breakfast

Review 10:The receptionist was lovely. She offered to change our room but it was too late to start moving the children

Review 11:we had a warm welcome, the room was clean and comfortable, the shower was very good. Had a walk around the marina, very nice location, would stay again.

Review 12:The first room we were in was facing the back of the restaurant which had a security light blazing in all night and a ventilation machine which also operated noisily all night. The adjoining Beefeater was dark, busy and pricey in the evening.

Review 13:Convenient location. Excellent receptionist. Arranged a change of room after the first night and did so with a cheery enthusiasm and sympathetic consideration. She ( Dovilla ) was brilliant. Good breakfast.

Review 14:Luke warm ( very often) water for tea at breakfast.

Review 15:Clean room, pleasant staff.Hotel in nice area by the river/lake. Food available all day with adequate choice if not haute cuisine.

Review 16:Bathroom and general décor quite tired. Childs bed very uncomfortable 1st night but staff resolved this by changing the mattress for the 2nd night. Breakfast expensive.

Review 17:Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 18:A couple with several dogs sat outside restaurant at picnic/dining table (breakfast time)allowing their 3 - 4 dogs that had obviously been in the lake to sit on the actual table and seating. Extremely unhygienic to anyone who followed eating food from the same table

Review 19:Very polite and enthusiastic reception staff. To be highly commended

Review 20:Cleaaning staff did not make up the bed or vacuum the floors. They were neew and they need to be checked and trained. No A/C

Review 21:Desk staff was outstanding! Julia and Doville were especially helpful - the verrey best!

Review 22:The bathroom needed an overall and there was an unpleasant smell. Would like better storage space rather than leaving clothes on display.

Review 23:The bed was wonderful and the staff were extremely friendly. Also excellent parking and location

Review 24:I was placed in a disabled room close to the entrance on the ground floor. I am not disabled and the hotel was too full to move me. The room was noisy being next to the car park with people walking passed all the time, car engines running, doors slamming etc. No chair at the desk in the room was inconvenient. No telephones in the rooms.

Review 25:Large room on the ground floor close to the entrance and reception.

Review 26:Beefeater was dark & dinghy for breakfast. Brown upholstery is practical but dark walls & lighting is out of date and depressing. Electricity bill would be reduced in morning if more natural sunlight was encouraged rather than discouraged as at present. Smelly atmosphere plus scruffy floors from night before was horrid.

Review 27:Great staff who bent over backwards to be helpful. they also smiled genuinely - a great bonus. Premier Inns are consistently good for their high standards in room

Review 28:Could access wifi on phone and tablet but not work laptop. Your inconsistency with pricing drives me nuts as I stay every month then have to avoid you the od month example September when the price rockets.

Review 29:All of the above.

Review 30:My only issue was the smell of damp coming from the bathroom. It was not very pleasant and if we had been staying longer than 2 nights it would certainly have been unacceptable.

Review 31:The location was fantastic. Such a lovely part of England. The Marina and Country park was great for the kids and you are close to all local amenities.

Review 32:no air con it was hard to breath at times ; it is to expensive and the full English breakfast was bland no taste , susages skin was tough as old boots . and staff never smiled .

Review 33:the staff in hotel was great always smiled and chatted

Review 34:just the weather but that's mother nature for you :)

Review 35:I cant just pick one . the bed was amazing, food amazing, didn't hear a peep all night, location was fantastic had beautiful laked and parks I just felt so relaxed . thankyou so much x

Review 36:I have stayed premier inn hotels and they are really good but having to go next door to the pub for food or just a coffee isn't for me

Review 37:The location is brilliant and the walk by the river into was really nice on a warm sunny day

Review 38:We would have preferred a completely self service cooked breakfast rather than having to order it, although the breakfast was very good when it arrived. Service was not undulating slow but we had some time constraints.

Review 39:Comfortable accommodation for me and my 5 older children, friendly staff.

Review 40:View from room looked on to skip, woken at 07:45 by refuge lorry directly outside our window. Also being next to reception (Rm 1) meant all visitors passed our door, very noisy. Meals in Beefeater was of a poor standard and could have been cleaner.

Review 41:Comfortable bed, friendly staff

Review 42:Requested for 2 rooms to be together but they were not. Stayed there with bride ready for wedding in the morning. We had to be up at 5 to get ready but it wasn't very nice to be told not to walk from room to room and keep being told to be quiet. We were respectful of the other guest but felt like we couldn't enjoy getting ready.

Review 43:The staff were very helpful and the facilities were more than adequate. Bed was very good.

Review 44:no power point by the bed to plug phone into when using it as an alarm clock. limited channels on the tv.

Review 45:nice quiet location, excellent staff and a comfortable room and bed.

Review 46:Choice, prentation, bquality and service of breakfast. The friendliness and helpfulness of every member of staff we met - reception, kitchen, housekeeping - they all were so keen to please.

Review 47:When arrived we were given room 1 . The heating did not work, right nextto stairs so noisy and had view of beefeater bin area ( also noisy asbottles chucked in bins from bar). Offered a portable radiator or adifferent room so took another room ( room 4) which was perfect in everyway so all ended well.

Review 48:Friendly staff. Perfect room ( eventually ). Very comfortable bed .Excellent breakfast next day. Out of Holiday inn and travelodge andpremier inn, the premier inn is the best have stayed in and woulddo so again.

Review 49:awful smell coming from bathroom member of staff tried to clear it with bleach partly successful room very cold no hairdryer had to go down to reception to obtain one

Review 50:When we booked in there was some confusion over whether our breakfast was included in the booking, which it was. If I hadn't produced proof via a paper print out later it may not not have been.

Review 51:the quiet location. The cleanliness & comfort of the rooms.

Review 52:Current trend of having overly friendly staff with well trained greetings and responses.

Review 53:Next to a quiet pub. Well located close to Bedford center but still nice quiet nights sleep.

Review 54:Very firm bed (hard!), no extra value compared with cheaper local alternatives, bathroom floor was sticky, cooked breakfast took too long (30mins +) and porridge never arrived

Review 55:Speedy check-in, efficient and helpful staff, location, no quibble money-back guarantee

Review 56:Couldn't turn up the heating so it was cold in the room. The kind receptionist brought us a mobile plug in radiator..soon warmed up then..

Review 57:Location and breakfast was good..

Review 58:Sign on road poorly lit, if new to area would have missed it. Bed small although there is notice stating that they are upgrading to king size. Small TV with free view channels only.

Review 59:well priced. Comfortable bed although not large. Good shower and large towels. 30 min free wifi. Staff very friendly. Plenty of free parking.

Review 60:Really enjoyed our stay, room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We have experienced far worse for a lot more money in the past.

Review 61:Limited tea and coffee facility. Only 1 cup of each per person. The extractor fan was noisy. Just being 'picky', would easily stay again.

Review 62:Friendly welcome. Room spacious, clean and comfortable.

Review 63:I didn't like how we had to leave for 12 midday even though we didn't get there until early hours of the morning.

Review 64:the bed was very comfortable.

Review 65:The toilet in the room had urine on the seat n obviously hadnt been cleaned! The bed wasnt as comfortable as it could of been n thevpillows were flat, also as our room was next to the door leading to the stairs we heard people going up n down thm, banging the door, and making general noise along the corridor from 10pm till 7am! My advice, if staying at this premier inn, choose a room on the lower floor and away from any doors and stairs

Review 66:Apart from the toilet issue the room was clean and the food in the restaurant was nice

Review 67:Nothing not to like.

Review 68:Warm welcome on check in. Large clean room with comfortable bed. Caring and polite staff which made all the difference. Excellent breakfast at the Beefeater next door.

Review 69:No extras at all. No mini toiletries, no hairdryer although that was explained away by safety procedures. A space heater in the room since the heating didn't work. Tiny TV.

Review 70:Fairly basic hotel, but it's clean and the bed was fine. It was our second stay and we went for the breakfasts! The breakfasts at the Beefeater are fantastic!

Review 71:Cooked breakfast took ages to order then another 30 minutes before it arrived! When it did arrive was unfortunately overcooked....

Review 72:Very helpful, pleasant staff. Booked us in early before check in. Comfortable and clean room. Good nights sleep

Review 73:Kept awake by noisy neighbours Reported to reception who had a word but to no avail

Review 74:Staff very helpfull and friendly Our tv didn't work and took over an hour to sort but June didn't give up a credit to your company

Review 75:Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, with a restaurant on site. Great for easy access to get to as used as a stopover whilst staying for a family wedding. Lake walk just yards away. Would visit again.

Review 76:Breakfast was disappointing. After being welcomed and informed to help ourselves to toast and coffee etc,it seems they forgot us.We sat for an hour with just coffee and toast until we managed to catch the eye of a waitress. She took our order for our full breakfast and told us that it would take a while as they were behind, don,t know why because it wasn,t busy.We promptly told her we were used to waiting as we had been sitting there for ages.

Review 77:lovely place to stay, staff at the reception were wonderful, friendly and helpful.Nice location in a country park with great walks into town or just around the lake.

Review 78:Well cost of room was very exspensive. And was supposed to be a family room witch was very small and cramped was always stepping on each others toes. Specially compared to previous premier inn's. Was also very noisy at night sounded like there was rhino's running around. Witch was stated to staff. Myself and fiance and our child struggled to get a proper nights sleep witch is now i have read was supposed to be guaranteed. Also we struggled on several occasions for parking due to the pub being open late.

Review 79:The only thing witch was pleasent about our visit was the beef eater nextdoor.

Review 80:It was a little cold in the room an no blanket so I didn't sleep well. Also very noisey outside and lots if doors slamming etc after 11pm which was disappointing. Also when my full English arrived I wasn't told we needed to go around the counter to cook our toast for it so having done this breakie was a little cold.

Review 81:Receptionist that welcomed me was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Room was fine, spacious and clean.

Review 82:There was a power cut which they knew about before my staff they should of pre warned us before stay .The hot water wasn't on for ages for a shower. The bed was so hard couldn't sleep properly

Review 83:Nothing

Review 84:Excelelnt breakfasts marred by lukewarm coffee from pressure pump pots - what a shame! Only other minor point, wi-fi is free but only for 30 minutes - free for the stay would be better.

Review 85:Location, staff, room, cleanliness and facilities, excellent breakfasts cooked to order, Beefeater next door with fast service

Review 86:Because the bath room is a Bathroom comes Shower room, there is no safety bar anywhere. whilst having a shower if slipped in the tub , there is nothing for support from falling in the tub .In my opinion , there should be a safety bar or some grip bar fitted on the wall or some convenient place. It is even more important for the elderly person to take a shower sefely

Review 87:My room was at the back so at 08:30 am a refuge lorry arrived and sat with its engine running for 10 minutes while collecting rubbish including a lot of bottles so was very noisy. If I ever stay again I will ask for a room at the front.

Review 88:Location near lake with countryside feel All the usual things you expect from a Premier Inn comfy bed, high standard of cleanliness

Review 89:Long wait for dinner, resolved it by dining in the bar. The usual early morning inconsiderate guests unable to close doors quietly!

Review 90:Enjoyed everything, good comfy bed, tea in the room, tv, very clean and tidy.

Review 91:There were no bath when we arrived but the staff were helpful and only two plug socket in the whole room we book into a disabled room because my wife asthmatic so we having to unplug one thing to use another

Review 92:The place was pleasant the surrounding were good but thats all it had going for it

Review 93:I am outraged to have paid 70 pounds to stay at this hotel. Firstly whenI arrived I was asked if I'd only just booked the room as we'dtaken the last one, I had in fact booked the room over a months ago!Straight away I just knew we'd been given the worst room possible. Iwas passed a room key with number 1 on, yep must be right! We took ourbags to room number 1, about 5 steps away from the reception, and to out"delight" we find we have been given the 'dingy'disabled room with the bed 30cm from the floor, as well as the sink, thewhole room was dark and we could still hear everything going on from thereception. Surely I would have though that we would have been asked ifwe didn't mind being fobbed off with a disabled room when I bookedit?! As I defiantly would not have paid 70 pounds to stay here!! After anice dinner out on the high street we came back to our room to get agood nights sleep... This did not happen. With our room being right nextto reception we were kept up late with people in and out slamming thefront doors and then at half past 2 in the morning we were awoken bysomeone knocking on our door! 4 times! We awoke in the morning and leftas early as possible without breakfast as I was so infuriated that wehad drive hundreds of miles and stayed in such a shambles. I took theroom key back to reception where the receptionist didn't evenacknowledge me or my partner never mind ask how our stay was! It'ssafe to say I will never step foot in this premier inn again. Me and mypartner travel down to Bedford twice a year and the one time we changehotels this happens! Outraged and appalled as I have stayed in premierinns before and never had this treatment!

Review 94:we booked late so only had a disable room, everything was very low, specially the bed

Review 95:rooms clean staff very helpful and friendly breakfast cooked to order

Review 96:On the meal deal u needed to book with reception 1st, althou this wasnt made clear on the information booklet given. Staff seemed a bit confused whn asked any questions, and there is soap dispensers in the bathroom rather thn small bottles of shower gel and handwash which made it seem a bit like A public convenience

Review 97:Overall a relaxing stay, Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, quiet location and food in the beefeater restaurant was tasty and piping hot

Review 98:deliveries too early outside your bedroom. first time i'd been able to have a lie in, in years (kids, blergh) and a bottle delivery turns up right outside your window at 7am. never mind!

Review 99:clean, quiet (through out the night), friendly staff.

Review 100:we booked breakfast for 10am and after several complaints it finally came at 10.50am,the eggs were black underneath the bacon burnt and the sausage pink in the middle It was inedible and I complained bitterly to the restaurant manager several people walked out ,one person looked at his breakfast and walked out. This is the second time we have had this problem with your beefeater inns .Also we were awoken at 7.30am with beer deliveries and dustbin collection right outside our bedroom window.making a mockery of your goodnight's sleep guarantee. We also had sleep problems and meal problems at your Hayle Cornwall hotel .The bedrooms were stifling hot (no air conditioning) again next to no sleep and waiting 60 minutes for a meal to arrive. I have always swore by premier inns and have stayed with you many many times but alas no more and I doubt very much whether we will ever use you again

Review 101:The heat! It was incredibly hot in the room. It was a fairly warm night admittedly, but the inside of the hotel was absolutely baking hot! There was just one small fan provided only. This made for a pretty sticky and restless night.

Review 102:We arrived very late, and left early the next morning, but had good service from the staff who were really friendly. Everything was well set up in the room too.

Review 103:The only thing I didn't like. Was its noises at night from the restaurant and cars moving off outside our window whilst our grandson was trying to sleep.

Review 104:I liked the location in a country setting ideal for families and active people.Plenty for families to do,lots of space to play and explore, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a good stay and somewhere I would certainly stay again.

Review 105:Would have like the shower head to be detachable rather than fixed to the wall. The air-con seemed complicated and so the heater came on and off making the room too warm. This meant the window had to be open but noise in the morning woke you up early. Pillows - there didn't seem to be a thinner soft pillow causing lack of sleep due to discomfort.

Review 106:Good sensible rooms. All staff were brillant in their welcome and way of dealing with everything. Food was great with a good continental range. Plenty of parking. Clean and tidy hotel for an overnight stay.

Review 107:On return to hotel expected to be quiet. Overly warned by staff on quietness. Lack of air conditioning. Warm rooms.

Review 108:Location to Central Bedford. Cost of room. Next to restaurant/pub. Free parking. Size of room. Cleanliness. Late checkout time.

Review 109:room 30 was like a prison cell high windows you could not see out of was right above reception so you could hear everybody who came in even at 2-00 am there was no air conditioning only a fan that kept you awake this room should really not be let out

Review 110:good location for our needs

Review 111:Unfortunately it was a very hot night, (+29 degrees in our room) The restricted window opening even with a fan provided could not reduce the temperature of the room. Consequently we had very little sleep.

Review 112:Location, food and staff excellent. Guarantee of good nights sleep honoured - thank you.

Review 113:A bit on the pricey side, but this was because there were no single rooms available by the time I booked.

Review 114:This was rather a special Premier Inn - all those I've stayed in have been excellent but the location of this one, right next to the relaxing Priory Marina, made it stand out. The service was superb - nothing was too much trouble. The weather was exceptionally hot on my arrival and I was immediately offered a sheet to replace the duvet - very welcome! The breakfast was superb.

Review 115:No view from room. (High windows.) Noise from people returning to hotel at 4:00 am. laughing, shouting and talking outside. At least 3 separate groups were guilty of this. Obviously some kind of party. No sleep at all after this.

Review 116:Location

Review 117:Serving of meal in restaurant was slow

Review 118:G.ood location. nice surroundings.

Review 119:Slight smell from linen cupboard in the corridor that also got into the room

Review 120:N/A

Review 121:The girl on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice sized room. Clean.

Review 122:The friendly staff and comfort of bed.

Review 123:Very nice hotel and lovely friendly staff

Review 124:Simplicity in all aspects, thank you.

Review 125:Excellent venue for Town Centre events - can go straight from room to lunch at Beefeater next door!!!

Review 126:Room needed update, bathroom stained, bed sheets itchy

Review 127:Friendly staff, good restaurant next door

Review 128:Very expensive. No hot water.

Review 129:Friendly, helpful staff. Had a very good night's sleep.

Review 130:Staff so friendly

Review 131:Room was overly tired, bed wasn't comfy, room was hot. And you could hear people upstairs turning in bed and everything outside

Review 132:Not a great deal.

Review 133:nothing

Review 134:helpful staff and a clean room
