Reviews for Central Hotel
Review 1:Toilet and shower very small and few (1 for maybe 6 rooms) and no toiletpaper. Good cleaning but the cleaner by accident left our room open andunlocked the whole day.
Review 2:Good location for us, helpful staff. Good heating in the winter night.
Review 3:I wouldn't want to stay there for more than one night. The showers were practically un-usable. They were in a bad place, weren't very clean and one of them wasn't working at all. The toilets were also not very good. The room itself was OK for my need, but I couldn't tell how clean the sheets were.
Review 4:Good location, and reasonable price.
Review 5:Very old building and facilities: no doors in the showers, mould everywhere in the bathroom; Room was not clean so get another one very small - but gave discount for this; bath towels had holes!! Over priced for the quality and care put in the service
Review 6:Location - tube is literally 30 secs away Staff was helpful when we complained
Review 7:Not helpful, room '4th floor? No lift no help with bags; internet doesn't work only in reception; which is basically a booth at the end of the hallway, didn't offer any help, tv didn't work, no remote, when I went downstairs to ask, he said well for 37 No TV? bed was matteresses on top of each other sheets not fresh and I found hairs that weren't mine on them, it was a shared bathroom but the bathrooms were shared with many rooms, toilets no toilet paper, , on the next floor either; the manager did give me toilet paper and the toilet was not clean, the shower was in like a cupboard and there is no where to put your clothes of towels so everything got wet; whilst trying to make sure no one came in because the door didn't lock, but for 37 euro the room was bigger than expected and for 37 euro you cant get much in Paris, there was no lounge or common area, I would have rather stayed in a clean hostel with shared facilities, also there is rotten wood and some holes along the walls near the floors especially those near the showers, there are lots of rooms and Im sure they can afford to be maintained better, I would never pay the full rate and even at the low rate Ive had much better in Paris and they do exist but not here,
Review 8:the bed was larger than I expected I got this on a promo for 37 per night, close to metro and it was cheap, I was able to change by booking from 2 Nights to one thankfully the manager allowed me to do that as my itinery had changed
Review 9:The toilet was too small and shower was very very small. The staff does not understand English so we did not find shower and could not take it. Everything cramped. It is a chap option
Review 10:Free wi fi
Review 11:As many buildings in Paris, no elevator, the place is too old, shared shower was simply the reason to not take a shower in 2 days.
Review 12:Location is good, staff helpful even the language barrier. If you do not cared about comfort is god pace for spending the night in a small room.
Review 13:Room never cleaned from previous guests. Bed sheets not changed either. Door squeaked so loud I felt bad for other guests when I had to open it. Shower was so bad I didn't dare use it.
Review 14:Decent location
Review 15:The shower-it was a tiny room in between floors with no shelf to put dry clothes/towel. The shower-head was falling apart and shooting water everywhere but I made it work. Wifi was not the best. Typically French, with lots of stairs.
Review 16:It's very close to public transportation. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff let me check in 2 hours early. They let me check out very early in the morning and called me a great taxi driver for the airport who came in 2 minutes. Great bakery nearby
Review 17:Very unprofessional, gave unclean room at the beginning that i asked to change, showers not working or not working well. Save yr money and book a good hostel instead.
Review 18:Almost nothing.
Review 19:Old building, had to climb 5 floors because no lift. Poor wifi signal and poor wifi speed. Poor front desk personnel, unable tor communicate well, unfriendly. There is a notice that they won't hold the baggage, but mine was allowed.
Review 20:Comfortable and clean room Good location, just 10 steps away from Rue des Boulets metro station
Review 21:No directions to get to hotel no tv in rooms metro closeby 50 meters but you do not know that
Review 22:Clean bed and linnen with little efford this can be a great place to stay
Review 23:The bed was pretty old, so not the most comfortable. We weren't able to get the internet working at all, which was very frustrating.
Review 24:The staff were lovely and were able to fix a problem with our shower quickly. It was nice to stay outside of the most touristy areas, but still close to metro stations.
Review 25:Everything dirty nasty bad mannered and lying staff. Gave us a twin roomwhen booked a double months in advance. Took 2 days to rectify and norecompense. Mould dirt everywhere...would let my dog live there!
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:Was very very hot and there was no air conditioning in the room (although it does say there is air conditioning on booking.com). Also there was mould on the bathroom ceiling.
Review 28:Good proximity to metro station and staff were friendly.
Review 29:GREAT for the price!! If you want more luxury book a more pricy hotel.
Review 30:We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. Nice bed, wardrobe a zink in the room, TV and windows facing the inner yard. Quiet and clean and very nice personal! The toilet and shower is small but definitly working (if you don't have moving disabilities, the shower is on half way up the stairs between the floors). Lots of Parisfeeling. The neighborhood is great! And the hotel is RIGHT on the metro station. We would come back!
Review 31:The room had bad smelling, more that one day they did not made the beds and bathroom as well. Internet connection sucks, reaching is not enough. For he price I though it could be better. I am very disappointed. Sorry to say this.
Review 32:The shower inclosure is small, wi-fi is poor, no elevator, no other facilities (other than the room & bathroom), the place does not fit for a hotel category. It needs renovation especially the entrance & reception area.
Review 33:It is near the metro, Rue des boulets station & walking distance to Nation metro station. Comfortable enough for a good night sleep, but don't expect more than that.
Review 34:showers rooms doesn't have lock, showers rooms is in crooked shapes, you need to go 2 floors up for shower rooms, they didn't provide child bed which they agreed, toilets are not clean, rooms are not clean. don't go for this hotel. shower handles are hanging. flush tanks are not working in the toilets. any human being can't stay in this hotel. we should inform paris hotel inspection authorities to inspect this hotel and ask them to close it. if you are concerned about travelers life, please remove this hotel from booking.com.
Review 35:nothing to like. don't go for this hotel.
Review 36:The reception area was very dirty and disorganized. Some of the staff (owners) didn't speak English. The common areas were filthy. WIFI connection only reached the second floor. The views of the room were to an internal patio were a dog had been defecating (they cleaned it after a while). There were flies in the room. No hair-dryer was provided. First day they never came to clean the room. Second day they did but they didn't change the towels. They don't keep your luggage at the reception. They couldn't provide a free map of Paris. The price I paid for the room was the same they offered on site... And they forced me to paid up-front for the entire stay. Not surprisingly they had plenty of empty rooms.
Review 37:Location Ok
Review 38:I came to Paris to explore a bit and knew that I would only use the room for sleeping and showering. I am rather easy-going and had a very enjoyable stay but for the more picky travelers here are a few suggestions: -if you need quiet to sleep, ask for the backside of the hotel -if you're dependent on WiFi or cannot climb stairs (seeing as there is no elavator), ask for a room on the first three floors -if you plan to stay more in your room and want to watch (French) tv, make sure to request it because not all rooms have it. Overall, I have a great stay and the family that runs it is very kind and welcoming! Also, the metro (rue de boulets, line 9) is literally right in front and makes it really easy to go anywhere in Paris! :D
Review 39:we arrived really early and couldn't get inside. even though we sent a request for early check in they didnt respond back. they made us wait from 08.00 till 13.30 . they didnt even try to help us. the owners cant speak English except the receptionist lady. showers are awful. wifi is available only at one floor and there is no place to sit no common area.I wouldnt recommend at alll
Review 40:location. only one of the staff was trying to help.
Review 41:it would be great if they had either a kettle in the rooms or a coffee vending machine available in the hotel... Also, the shared showers could be better too...
Review 42:the location and prices were great.
Review 43:Room was totally dirty. Drawer in the bathroom was not clean at all and some old plastic spoons left. Some fungus on the walls and on the toiled seat some disgusting dirt. Place smells and looks like was not properly cleaned since French Revolution. Toilet was noisy and make a sound every 10s, so it was hard to sleep during the night. No wifi in the room! a total disaster.
Review 44:Good location, quick access to whole Paris.
Review 45:It started off with a very bad reception by the reception guy, already saying that my card didn't pass. He didn't want to try again with the same card, I insisted and it passed just fine, which I guess it was his problem in the first place of not knowing how to pass the card. He was also mistreating us because we had the cheapest room. No Wifi in the rooms. Very old, small and not very clean room. Shared shower and toilet and both very dirty.
Review 46:Cheapest available in Paris, close to the metro.
Review 47:The location is good - you can get everywhere by the metro - line 9 station is right in front of the door and several lines+buses go from station "Nation", which is 10min to walk (or one stop). Wifi was perfect in the room! Room was OK. There was slight smell of smoking, but nothing terrible. Water from the shower was warm :) Beds were very good and the size of the room as well. Breakfast we had right next to hotel, crossant, coffee and juice 5,90EUR. With the heavy suitcase it would be difficult to go up from stears, but we had not any luggage. The personnel did not speak English much, but we could use google translator, so everything was very fine, they were helpful, I even could do online check in to my flight. Thank you for that! I recommend it if you need nothing more than place to stay for the night. No comfort, but everything for good night sleep is there.
Review 48:I don´t mind a bit of discomfort but one shower, for a whole building, working? Probably the noisest street in Paris. No bill and no reception in morning. Wifi in commun areas (one seat in 1m2).
Review 49:Clean
Review 50:We checked in this hotel and stayed for two days , we found that it is a very bad hotel and the room wasn't with the same characters which mentioned by them on booking website .
Review 51:Cleanliness was acceptable, below average at best. Shared bathroom was basically a toilet in a closet. Shower was almost unusable, hard to describe.
Review 52:Great location, nice bed, nice staff, low price. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Keep your expectations low and you will have a great experience.
Review 53:When I arrive, I realise that the room is very dirty,it wasn't cleaned and it was a mass:papers and bottles everywhere. Don't go there!!!!!!!!!! It is very very very dirty!
Review 54:The position is very confortable, the metro station is very close to this hotel.
Review 55:No In room wifi. Very small spiral staircase to walk up and down. Hard to bring up luggage. Be careful of slippery floors in bathroom.
Review 56:It was convenient to metro.
Review 57:Wifi only in "public" area, but there isn't really any public area apart from the check in desk. The hallways had a bit of smoke smell probably due to one of the owners smoking in the office. It wasn't strong enough to make me or my clothes smell of cigarettes, and it stayed mainly in the hallway.
Review 58:Friendly staff, close to metro, had a nice bathroom
Review 59:Good location great for metro and sights small doorway type entrance Slept very well as quiet (room 8) and decent shower Overall very basic, no breakfast facilities but the price was right for a one night stay two blokes 65 plus in years
Review 60:-hard to find -no elevator, I was on the 4th floor! -no wifi in the room, have to come downstairs every time to get wifi:(
Review 61:-price -close to metro station -staff generally friendly
Review 62:The toilet has mushrooms growing in the wall. Here you need to pay a lot for really bad bad conditions, and persons that just don't care about other than the money!
Review 63:I liked just to be in Paris, not in this place!
Review 64:Very close to important metro from shere you can go to all big atractions. The staff is ok and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Very good price/quality raport!!!
Review 65:the bathroom was duty and the shower is very tiny and also is share with many rooms... the place smell weird but i thinnk is normal in old sites in paris.
Review 66:location is very nice.
Review 67:The only thing that can be a little better is Wifi which is a little slow, but this is a problem in a Paris as a city. It is pretty hard to find proper working internet.
Review 68:I like pretty much everything in this hotel. I got my room for a really good price, it was spacious and clean. The bed was more than comfortable and the receptionist is one of the kindest people I met in Paris, people working in this hotel are very nice and polite and they will help you with everything. I just felt like home there because of a great warm atmosphere.
Review 69:Nothing! It was great, I'll get back someday!
Review 70:I spent a few nights in this hotel and it was a great experience! The staff was nice, warm and helpful. When I arrived they didn't have a single bedroom without bathroom as I had booked, so they switched me to one with bathroom en suite. The manager was really kind and invited me to stay in that bedroom the remaining nights, although the one I had booked had no private bathroom and was cheaper. Location is really good. Is literally in front of a metro station, so it's safe and easy to reach. Pere Lachaise Cemetery is 15 minutes walking. Everything was clean and the hotel is not noisy, so I slept comfortably - which after a day walking endlessly around a big city is very appreciated :)
Review 71:Tiny shower half way up the landing, no bath. Beds linen for hot North African nights in mid December. No bedside light. Shall I go on?
Review 72:The hotel had the feel of the hotels I have stayed in parts of the world outside Europe. Near train stations in Casablanca rtc
Review 73:The hotel is just a reception with rooms, so dont expect any other facilities. For breakfast go to the bakery next door, delicious croissants!! Wifi was not really working at the fourth floor. Conclusion: perfect if you just want to sleep in a clean and decent room and dont expect to much.
Review 74:The people were very nice, they even upgraded us to a better room for free! They asked how we were doing and were sincerely interested. The rooms were clean and for us it was enough.
Review 75:Lobby and halls are in substandard condition. The first thing you see when enter the building are bars on the front desk window. One wonders why this is necessary?? Most people from North America will be very disappointed.
Review 76:Many coffee shops and Restaurants nearby.
Review 77:Shower was a bit leaking Wifi didn't work
Review 78:Intially we booked a room with shared facilities, but on arrival we have been upgraded to the room with individual shower for free. The staff is nice and friendly. The hotel is quite good for its price, well located - very close to the metro station, and few stops from the bus station. The room was very warm.
Review 79:Too hot in the room Thin walls Load creaky doors
Review 80:Good comfortable bed Clean room and facilities Polite administration Good location, not very far from center
Review 81:Did not accept a visa credit card. Only debit cards seem to work here. Shared shower is just off staircase. Had a hard time finding.
Review 82:Close to metro stop line 9.
Review 83:The internet only worked for seconds at a time. The curtain was hanging off the rail and there was a broken mirror behind a cupboard – why not just take it away?
Review 84:The staff are really friendly and helpful. I was on a work trip and stayed there as a woman on my own but felt very comfortable and slept well. The room was clean and freshly decorated. The hotel is right by a metro line with good links to everywhere, so although the street itself is not especially charming, it's a good point for reaching everywhere else in the city. This hotel is a good practical choice if you're on a budget and just need a place to sleep.
Review 85:Everything was good, if you are going to Paris for visit, this hotel is good for sleep and it has a good location because its connected with other metro lines which take you to many places. I find facilities good and almost clean.
Review 86:Our room had bed bugs, which was awful and there was no lift and we were on the fifth floor. The place was run down and not that clean either.
Review 87:The staff were friendly and it's right next to a metro station
Review 88:Amazing location - the metro station is just outside the hotel. The staff is very polite and helpful. There's good free wifi (reachable from the first floor - I am not sure about the rest of the hotel).
Review 89:i have appreciate the friendly people that work there, and they was really helpful with me. i was there for there night, and i was i a bedroom with the shower and the bathroom, doublebed and silent to sleep. for the price and the position in Paris it was perfect for me. it's not a 5 luxury star Hotel, but i really like my time there. All the people was really nice with me, i suggest it for someone that want to be in the center and in a friendly place.
Review 90:The room was verry smoll, but I understend that in France( I also was in Nice and in Marseille) they have a problem with this.
Review 91:I was given a room woth a bathroom, although I booked a room withought, at the same price.
Review 92:Old, dirty, poor located, far away from major Paris attractions! The building is awful! And there is nothing relevant to do around! Stat there as your very last option!
Review 93:The guy at front desk made a fair effort to help
Review 94:I let them know in advanced that i was travelling with a baby, our room was on the 4th floor no elevator. the shower was not clean. the carpet was old, it definitely needs a renovation.
Review 95:location, it was close to the metro and supermarket.
Review 96:The linen were dirty, blanket full of dust, in my room there was only one of three lights working, broken wardrobe, shower in the corridor did not close. In the night somebody tried to enter the room. If you do not care about basic cleaness - it is ok.
Review 97:Location is really good, near metro entrance. Staff is friendly and offers help every time. Good turkish restaurant near.
Review 98:the room is a bit small for persons with a lot of luggage .
Review 99:if prices is considered this is a good choice if all you need is a place to sleep and bath. Location is good to get around Paris on metro or bus.
Review 100:Blocked bathroom basis and semi faulty toilet (plumbing problem). Stairs inconvenient. Not up to other hotel standards in the same price range.
Review 101:The staff were helpful.
Review 102:Shower was impossible to take, so tiny and unclean that you dont to have any body part touch anything. Hanger inside, which get your cloths wet. Staff were ok, distance to center ok, noise ok
Review 103:Two single beds, although I was travelling solo
Review 104:Room was a little noisy, and would probably be rather hot in the summer. But who goes to Paris to sit in the room?
Review 105:The fellow at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Very very close to the metro. Quite inexpensive.
Review 106:Main road outside made it quite noisy at night. There was one shower which didn't lock.
Review 107:Staff were very helpful. We needed to stay another night so they shuffled other people around so we could keep our room. Pretty basic but value enough for paris. Comfortable bed
Review 108:The smell of the pillow is not fresh and it seems that it was used and they haven't changed it.
Review 109:I liked the location, very near the metro and lots of restaurants nearby. It has AC, TV and private bathroom...
Review 110:No phone in room and no elevator - noting that this is standard in all the hotels in the area and in this price range. Right outside the window of room 1 was a rooftop full of trash. Simple things which would make a world of difference...... a hook to hang your towel, a table or shelf to put toiletries.
Review 111:The double rooms with en suite bathroom are far superior to the single room with shared toilet and shower. They also have a more delightful street view. At reception they happily allowed me to receive international phone calls.
Review 112:It was so shabby when we reached there.. So stinky.. Room was not ready even after calling them in advance.. When we. Came back for luggage it was completely wet.. In all bad exp
Review 113:Location was the only plus point since it was opp a metro station
Review 114:The wifi didn't reach our room (2nd floor) and the steep stairs. The last 2 days were very noisy outside of room in street.
Review 115:The location is next to Rue des Boulets metro station. It is a family run hotel, they were friendly but only one person speaks English fluently. We need to use google translate when we asked our prior-booking museum pass. The room was clean and much better than the corridor. We got a private bathroom, which was clean and bright.
Review 116:There was no air conditioning or fan, despite the fact that a/c was indicated on booking.com. Leaving the window open meant a few bugs got into our room, including a wasp which stung me on the foot. Bed was not very comfortable.
Review 117:Hotel is located right at the entrance to a subway line and the subway is quite affordable in Paris. Staff were friendly enough, and checking in and out was fast and easy. Delicious croissants fresh every morning at the place below the hotel. Grab one to take on the go if you have a full day planned.
Review 118:in the last day we saw a mouse and it tried to enter in our room, far from all the things but the metro is right in front of it what makes things easier
Review 119:located in front a metro station and it's not so expensive hotel
Review 120:Toilet was a bit aged and didnt smell well No lift
Review 121:Price Location Nice staff, they gave us a better room for the same price, in the quiet side of the street
Review 122:The common toilet was very little and uncomfortable, and the shower (behind a narrow door along the stairs) was honestly a nightmare. I would recommend this hotel only for short stays and to brave travellers.
Review 123:The location close to Rue des Boulets metro station, the price for one night, considering that we booked the room three hours prior checking in.
Review 124:It wasn't shiny and new. Not dirty but not squeaky clean in the corners. Our TV didn't work (but we didn't care).
Review 125:Welcoming and helpful staff. They lent us a hairdryer. Comfortable beds, not too much noise on the 3rd floor where we were. Free coffee and water. You get what you expect for the price with a smile.
Review 126:every thing else was not as good as the room, the shared bathroom is very small and difficult, also the path in separate room and very small, however it is good for those searching for budget hotel with clean room without thinking too much in the luxury of the WC.
Review 127:The room is good and clean, WIFI working good. the staff speaks Arabic and French which is good for me as Egyptian. they were welcomed.
Review 128:The entire building is in dire need of a general refurbishment. Our first room (number 9) was awful, with a window open onto a dirty and cluttered private courtyard, beds wrapped in plastic, mould in the shared toilet. After our complaint we've been moved to room 41, that was definetely better (apart from the fact that the duvet was covered with hair and someone in the adjoining room spent the entire night with the telly on)
Review 129:The guys at the reception are really friendly and helpful. The sight from forth floor is nice. The bed was confortable.
Review 130:Fati (recepcion guy) was so nice and he helped us a lot with all information we need it. He make us feel super safe and he has a great sense of humor! the hotel is perfectly located. As soon you step out of the metro the hotel is in front of you! and a good coffee place to have breakfast next to it. The rooms are a little bit small but since you spend all day outside didnt matter to us. it was great to be in a place so welcoming! beside he speaks many languages. which makes much easier to communicate! great memories from Pili and Karina!!!!
Review 131:The rats ran everywhere of the hotel. The light for walking on stairs too short. many kind of different poor people living in. very old dark hotel. no wifi in the room. many small rooms...felt not safe for girls. Don't stay here if you are a female!
Review 132:I was happy that the staff who speaks English was nice.
Review 133:Entrance and halls are in inviting but get through to the room and it's great value and clean and quiet
Review 134:Luck double was worth the extra money and the staff were friendly and helpful
Review 135:TV was put up too high in the ceiling that we wouldn't watch it from the bed. And it was World Cup season! The Internet doesn't work in our room. The reception said that the front door blocked the Internet.
Review 136:No TV. No en-suite, didn't want to wander to find the shared bathroom. Very dated, although clean it gives the impression of being very run down, but you get what you pay for, with Paris being one of the most expensive cities in the world you have to compromise for a cheap price.
Review 137:The price is on the cheaper end. Had nice big windows to people watch. Had a good nights sleep. A functional hotel.
Review 138:Rooms REALLY NEED TO BE UPDATED!!!!! Out of date and no modern feel at all to the place!
Review 139:Wifi good and location was really good! Right next to the metro station with a direct line into the city! Staff were helpful and offered good advice!
