Reviews for Gothia Towers Hotel
Review 1:There was blood on the bed once we entered the room, discusting The night club was over our head and noisy, we were on 21 floor and we couldnt sleep
Review 2:The location The reception
Review 3:It was too warm in the room and there was no air conditioning
Review 4:I loved the fact that there was tea and coffee facilities in the hotel room. The lift was amazing.
Review 5:The view wasn't the best.
Review 6:Nice, spacious and clean rooms as always. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Great location - people often think that being by the Central station is best, that area is fine and you're by a shopping centre but here you can have a view over Liseberg and it's closer to much nicer restaurants and bars - the Avenue is also very close, which has both restaurants/bars and shopping.
Review 7:I found that there wasn't enough staff at the bar downstairs... I waited a long time to be served. There were 2 barmen, 1 was making cocktails and the other was putting things away. This was at around 22.30 on a Saturday night.
Review 8:Restaurants within the hotel had fairly limited menu, would definitely recommend booking table on Saturday night elsewhere
Review 9:Fantastic facilities and a delicious breakfast buffet and a lovely spa
Review 10:The room had twin beds pushed together, on one occasion 1bed was made but the other left also the cups and glasses were not changed or cleaned
Review 11:The location and the views plus public transport was right outside the door
Review 12:- to find a room you need to have a map, not well explained by the reception to which lift to which tower you should go......
Review 13:excellent hotel and especially excellent restaurant Heaven 23
Review 14:Room service food quality and response when this was brought up.
Review 15:Everything other than staff response and food service quality. This is a favorite weekend for us Gothia Towers and Liseberg!
Review 16:Even on the 14th floor, the trams were noisy enough to wake us up several times per night. We could also hear people getting in and out of the elevator. The sofa bed that I had to sleep in was very uncomfortable. Our room was not very clean.
Review 17:Great location, a good and well-organized breakfast buffet. Nice and friendly staff.
Review 18:No rooms for 4+ adults Two rooms in same booking not located next to each other Restaurants expensive
Review 19:Lovely room Great location Very clean Amazing breakfast
Review 20:The standard and the equippment of the rooms. The showers in Tower 1 are dangerous with glassdors falling of their hinges and locking my wife in the shower. The attitude you feel "we are really the big hotel and we know what our guests like". They got that totally wrong.
Review 21:The staff is really OK.
Review 22:The beds. The beds are too small no double beds . 2 singles put together , not comfortable at all.
Review 23:the location, the staff were excellent plus the breakfast.
Review 24:I stayed at the Sky room. One of the most pleasant Hotel experiences in Sweden. Superb service, excellent view and the "VIP" breakfast was well worth the extra cost.
Review 25:My only small issue was lack of a bottle opener for drinks in the mini bar in the room, we had to get one from twentyfourseven which is one of the in house cafes.
Review 26:Amazing hotel- upgraded to sky room free of charge on arrival, this hotel is unrivalled in Scandinavia!
Review 27:A bit of chaos with so many people. The cleaning was good but weird that the floor was very wet when we checked in. The room is standard, not impressive for such a high price.
Review 28:Breakfast was very good. The location is as good as it gets. The view was amazing!
Review 29:Only shampoo is available in the room, no body lotion, no cutips. I asked for sleepers, and they bring it after asking. Check in time is too late-3 oclock, but check out was early-11 oclock.
Review 30:Like many others, the check in/out is terrible and the worst compared to all other hotels I have been to. Unfortunately the managers excuse themselves with "it's due to up to 3500 guests at the same time". But this is not the guests problems, it's for the hotel to solve and in those cases staff up. It's really dangerous when companies doesn't feel that they need to solve problems. If that part had worked, the hotel would easily been my favourite, but this makes me want to book another hotel, the next time I am in Gothenburg...
Review 31:We had a stunning view from the 27th floor towards the Sports stadium on the back of the house.
Review 32:The breakfast standards have slipped since my last visit in 2014. Cooked food cold and left out for too long. Very unappetising.
Review 33:Great location and wonderful views across the city from the upper floors
Review 34:Made two bookings with one week of difference. The first time the room was a thousand times better. The price were the same. Watch out for this inconsistency.
Review 35:Great breakfast and location
Review 36:The hotel was very crowded. There were a lot of young children. We did not realize that it was located near an amusement and realize it might the the perfect location for many, but not for us. The restaurants were crowded and expensive. We left after 1 night and moved to another hotel.
Review 37:Very inflexible. Personnel (Linnea being the exception) more interestedin following rules than providing service. Room not cleaned until after6.30pm, and only after long conversation with rude person from housecleaning, who then agreed to "expedite" the cleaning. We werethree in the room, and each day we had to ask for extra towels sinceonly two provided. Bath products very limited -- no shower cap, noconditioner, no lotion -- only a combined shampoo and body wash, whichwas supplied in small quantities, and together with the sparsity oftowels gave a very Eastern European impression. Very limitedchildren's menu at the restaurant with a view. Not allowed to bringfood from 24/7 food place on premises to small child so adults couldeat there. Instead we all had to go elsewhere. My very well behavedteenager was not allowed in pool where age limit was 16, no exceptionsof course. Breakfast like gigantic school cafeteria, with similar foodstations spread out. Adequate food offerings at best.
Review 38:Location is great, especially if interested in Liseberg or Universeumfor kids. Like the modern look. Beds are comfortable. Severalrestaurants on site.
Review 39:The guest to next door came bake to the room after midnight and woke up by the big sound of the door closing. Ordered two taxies the night before, but only one taxi came.
Review 40:The only negative about our stay was breakfast, this was a self service buffet within a huge conference room very much like a canteen, not a 4 star hotel. There was no service at all and the quality wasn't great, the tables were grubby as reused and not cleaned very well between use. The only coffee on offer was awful from a low budget machine. A real shame as the breakfast didn't reflect the standard of the hotel.
Review 41:Fantastic hotel in a great location next to the theme park. Our room was on the 16th floor of Tower 3, the view was amazing even though I'm scared of heights it was worth it. The room was of a good and modern standard with excellent facilities and fast WiFi. The room was lovely clean and very spacious.
Review 42:Lift capacity a bit low in the morning
Review 43:Bar Heaven 23 and Restaurant Heaven 23 was excellent with top service from professional staff. Hotel was close to everything. Top service at the hotel. Upper House SPA Wow, class!
Review 44:Too slick and crowded. Hard to get elevators. The restaurants were crowded. Impersonal. Pricey.
Review 45:Very modern, upscale. Fabulous, fabulous food at the bar.
Review 46:Not possible to have crip, booked for 2 children 1,5 and 4 years old babies, impossible to have 1,5 year old baby to sleep in futon bed, would never had booked with this hotel if I had new this.
Review 47:No water in the shower
Review 48:Its a large property close to a major children's attraction so it is crowded and noisy. That's just the nature of a property like this. They handle the crowds well and we liked that it was close to Liseberg Park and to great restaurants. It was quite clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very nice
Review 49:parking situation was a bit confusing Impossible to get on elevators during breakfast hours; forget about bringing a stroller
Review 50:Location next to Liseberg (perfect)!!
Review 51:The swimming pool areas in the hotel was excessively priced for the guestes to use. THe mens toilets were in a shocking condition down stairs.
Review 52:I liked the fact that the hotel was so central.Tram and the train stops were just in front of the hotel. Were appreciated the heated floor and the heated towel rail.
Review 53:We had inconsistent cleaning service in our room. Restaurants were always booked as hotel did not reserve space for its own guests. Rooms are small, but well designed.
Review 54:Location is great, good wi fi service, new building.
Review 55:Cleanliness not great Parking complex and expensive Not real curtains - impossible to sleep Rooms and breakfast too dull Overall low service for the price
Review 56:Nice view from specific parts of the building Fast Wi-Fi Good location
Review 57:I enjoy a cooked breakfast,as opposed to continental,so having scrambled egg and meatballs every morning was not good.
Review 58:Staff were excellent at all levels, everywhere was very clean.
Review 59:It was not enought space in the breakfast room. I had to wait for chair and then sit in a table wiht some other people. it was som trash in my closet.
Review 60:great location
Review 61:We reserved two rooms and both room required us to move to another room. The first room the air conditioning broke so we had to move down the hall. After a 9hour flight and a 1 hour flight, this was not desired. On the last night, the TV would not turn on and the staff offered to move us to another room. It was already 2200 so we decided to count our losses and just stay in the room
Review 62:Staff was helpful and the paid buffet was excellent
Review 63:Parkering litt lang unna, fant et par sure sokker og noen mynter under sovesofaen som minner om dårlig renhold. Fikk kun 2 store håndkler selv om det var familierom for 4.
Review 64:Beliggenhet bra, flott utsikt over byen
Review 65:The only negative experience was caused by group of young people partying through most of one night - there was some techno music fest in the city that night so I can undestand it.
Review 66:Almost eveything was exceeding my expectation
Review 67:Furniture in rooms very old and nor comfortable, bathroom also very old No salmoon or beef on breakfast. Of you dont eat pork then no options.
Review 68:Food, view, location
Review 69:Breakfast average and very busy, difficult finding somewhere to sit Bedroom fine but nothing brilliant, hardly any electrical sockets and not in a logical place Wifi variable
Review 70:Location, close to Liseberg Easy access from Airport Nice public facilities Stylish
Review 71:Warm welcome, checking in at 10:30 when the usual check-in was 3pm was not a problem at all. Everything on site from a variety of restaurants to quick bites. Breakfast delivery to the room was really nice
Review 72:we did not get the room that we requested nor were we informed that the pool has a minimum age requirement of 16 years as well as a 750 kr entrance fee
Review 73:the children loved the breakfast
Review 74:Otrevlig personal i receptionen.
Review 76:The room was oh so basic. The breakfast was basic and only o.k. (especially compared to the food in the restaurants).
Review 77:Cocktail bar is good, especially as the sun sets. Food was excellent in restaurant.
Review 78:The sockets for charging electrical devices are either under the bed or across the room. Not a big deal, but not ideal.
Review 79:Staff were very friendly and catered to your needs. Room was cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable.
Review 80:My husband and I had a double bed with only one small duvet (appropriate for one person). The breakfast room at level 23 was not open. The big breakfast room on level 2 were out of many things, was not properly serviced.
Review 81:Very nice location, nice building
Review 82:Queue is the worst thing is the hotel. Due to high density, from checking in to breakfast, there is always queue. Car park could be limited when there is an exhibition. Book in advance. If car park is full, there is a community car park nearby connecting with bridge and about 5 minute walk.
Review 83:Very convenient for the location if you are visiting exhibition at Gothia. Good sky bar serving the popular shrimp plate. Good value for money.
Review 84:Noice from the event , no possibility to sleep. First-line personnel in the reception not helpul, after insisting with the manager we got eventually a new room at 11 pm.
Review 85:The breakfast restaurant has a boring interior which looks like a conference room. The breakfast coffee doesn't tastes good.
Review 86:The room is clean and comfortable. It's the very first time that I'm completely satisfied with free WiFi at hotel.
Review 87:Pool facilities couldn't be used by our 9 and 10 year old. Age restriction +16 years. As a family we were disappointed.
Review 88:Location Cleanliness Breakfast was well organized based on the volume of guests.
Review 89:I did book a small room, but did not except the size of a cabin on a boat. The bed was really small for 2 people. Also the breakfast was very impersonal and confusing with food in different corners of an immense room.
Review 90:The location is excellent close to the city center. The bar at the 23rd floor is very nice with a spectacular view. The service is excellent, very helpful and nice staff.
Review 91:The lifts were annoying as there were a few times I had to spend 5 minutes or more in it because it kept on going to the wrong floor. One of the cleaners walked into my room while I was asleep. I couldn't find the gym nor the spa. It would help if there was an actual brochure about the spa services because the tv didn't provide much information.
Review 92:Staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is really nice and comfortable and has enough things to keep you entertained with.
Review 93:One of the Italian restaurants on site was not open for the entire length of our 6 day stay and for most of our holiday, the reception area was constantly crowded with youth ice hockey players and their families. As the players were excitable youngsters, they were messing around in the lifts and were heard running around the corridors above us at 10 o'clock at night. The choice of food in the 24-7 bar was very poor and limited.
Review 94:The location is central with fantastic views from the SkyLine Rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the breakfast waitresses who looked after us well.
Review 95:Over the Christmas period two of the three in house restaurants were closed which was a disappointment as most of the restaurants around the hotel were closed.
Review 96:Three Wii consoles in the games room which kept the kids occupied.
Review 97:Out of date furniture in Tower 1 (Tower 3 looks much nicer) The amount of people for breakfast - all towers into one place. The food was nice though. Not functional hair dryer. Just small details but not a deal breaker but for a get away with your wife you could find something better.
Review 98:Location Friendly Staff
Review 99:At the breakfast, they had difficulties keeping up with all the guests, so tables had a tendency to be occupied by used plates, making it difficult to find seating.
Review 100:Location, just across Liseberg amusementpark, mall close by, and close to Brewhouse (concert/dance club).
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:Location, private parking, decor and style, friendly staff, possibility of self-service check-in and check out, several elevators, excellent breakfast with a variety that I haven't seen anywhere else, nice view of the Liseberg amusement park, clean rooms
Review 103:There was nothing I didn't like, but I did expect the rooms to be a bit bigger tbh. They were nice enough, but for such a hotel I was expecting to be more impressed.
Review 104:The location for the theme park is exceptional, it is about a 20min walk into the city, but a nice walk. The lobby etc are all very nice, and the open air swimming pool sticking out of the building half way up is something I've never seen before.
Review 105:A long walk to parking house and expensive. Room costs much more than room standard. A long walk to and noisy at breakfast restaurant. It is not good for family with someone with disabilities. We are surprised with high taxi fare to/from central station. Around 250kr is Ok but 400kr-500kr at day time was incredible.
Review 106:Fine view from hotel room. Close to museum and amusement park. Good standard.
Review 107:The towels where so small and old in the bathroom so it was hard to dry yourself. The shampoo in the shower was like using the soap. Business travelers can not bring shampoo if you only travel with hand luggage. It needs to be of good quality. Everything today is about customer experience.
Review 108:We were traveling with one disabled in a wheelchair. First we were given keys and directed to the wrong tower-a far way if you have a wheelchair, when we couldn't find our room we were excused and directed to the first tower again. The room was too small for a wheelchair and the "family room" was too small to fit our boys comfortably. We were then given an extra room without charge. Problem solved after some discussion and arguing. Beware if the Italian restaurant, poor service and you have to wait ages. Food a scam!
Review 109:Big hotel with an international feeling. Good breakfast.
Review 110:There was no body lotion though its late autumn/early winter. Power sockets on the desks were unreachable!! Why these are kept in such a confined area? Child safety? If that is the cause please provide extension cords. Now a days people travel with multiple devices ( I had 4)! Bad sleeping pilows In the shower area there is no room to put the tolitries on while taking shower.
Review 111:Location Staffs Breakfast (wonderful). Tea coffe cups were without handles (öron) though Skybar
Review 112:Renovations (necessary but detract slightly)
Review 113:good location, opposite liseberg park. It is convenient to walk to the kungsportsavenyn (15 minutes). It is a decent standard hotel for it's rating
Review 114:Too little space for arrangement of clothes however it can be okay for a short trip. Hair dryer too mini. Bed a bit too soft for me. Price for the Upper House spa & relax makes the facility bit inaccessible, especially when we just wanted to take a swim in the impressive rooftop swimming pool.
Review 115:Room quite spacious, water boiler in the room with basic coffee and tea, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Wifi speed is impressive. View of the city from our room 1308 is very nice.
Review 116:Furnishing, towels hanging over the WC, no soap holder, the view from room 511, crowded at breakfast with 1 single juice station for hundreds of people. Not easy to find the way in the building, feels like an airport. The price compared to the standard!
Review 117:Location, helpful staff
Review 118:Unpleasant staff at the reception. very small room and bed.
Review 119:Spend a night at Gothia upper house 4 months ago and that was fantastic but the regular Gothia hotel is average in every way and not worth the 160 euro we payed the other day.
Review 120:Breakfast self service as a university residence and poor quality eg coffee weak. Exorbitant fees for swimming pool, so did not use it. Room lighting poor With single control for both sides of bed. Not a 5 star hotel but 5 star prices.
Review 121:Close to conference centre
Review 122:Gothia Towers lies in a square with lots of transportation available, bus, tram, taxis. You can walk to the central station and to the main touristic shopping street. Breakfast was very good with lots of options including organic foods.
Review 123:They had troubles with THEIR methods of payment and 3 out of 4 staff members questioned ME. In the end they were wrong but I never even got a sorry or thank you for that matter. I wasn't impressed by this.
Review 124:Nice rooms, quick elevators, fabulous breakfast, the location next to Liseberg, good wifi
Review 125:Parking is 400 m from hotel and cost >20€ /day There is a piscine / spa but the cost is > 100€ ! No fitness center Some rooms would need to be refreshed Huge hotel (800 rooms)
Review 126:Situation in front of the amusement parc
Review 127:Breakfast bufffe felt not spread out so did not realize there were some warm food (scrambled eggs etc. ) till my second morning.
Review 128:I travel to Göteborg often for business so have stays many. However probably after this stay this will be my "regular" hotel as I really enjoyed the stay.
Review 129:The rooms furniture Dusty Smelled cigarett and stale Not Worth the money
Review 130:Nice and clean lobby Good view from the higher floors Good location if visiting Liseberg.
Review 131:Nothing, we enjoyed everything about stay.
Review 132:Very luxurious, we were treated very well and the discounted room and spa were a real treat! If you stay here, definitely visit the spa in upper house, it's incredible and well worth the money, ideally on weekdays as it's more expensive on the weekends. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We requested a bath when we booked through booking.com, and I had completely forgotten about it till the lady at the reception told me so! A wonderful surprise. Incredible view of the park and very easy to access via tram, korsvägen is the stop, and it's right outside the hotel.
Review 133:The water faucet was a bit too close to the sink which was making it hard to use.
Review 134:We had a room for 3, which was spacious and nice. The scenery from our room on the 5th floor was pretty, with a view of the Liseberg amusement park.
Review 135:No negatives!
Review 136:Great Location right across the Liseberg Park. Awesome view from the Heaven 23 Bar. Very helpfull Service esp. with needed Glutenfree Food!
Review 137:Parking was a bit too expensive, even the cheaper parking the hotel offers costs 195sek per day. And there is a long walk between hotel and parking house.
Review 138:Location is excellent, especially for visitors to Liseberg. Staffs were nice and warm, facilities were mordern and nice.
Review 139:Gets a little crowed at breakfast and the traffic outside is a bit overwhelming especially the roundabout which is beyond crazy. Can't imagine how the area with handle the traffic as the hotel continues to develop and the remaining buildings are complete.
Review 140:The hotel is very modern, comfortable, and clean with amazing views and good location.
The Fine Print
