Reviews for Hôtel La Fiancée du Pirate

Review 1:Road noise was annoying but it is something we are not used to. For others it may be the norm.

Review 2:The contact before we arrived to confirm times. Breakfast was lovely. Room was a good size, view was great over the bay. The town had a very friendly feel to it.

Review 3:On site parking is a big bonus. The hotel has a great outlook, professional service, and is clean and well looked after. Being able to communicate in English is an added bonus. Very good value for the price.

Review 4:We didn't have any issues with the hotel or its situation. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, or stay again if in the area.

Review 5:We were very well looked after by Eric and his wife. Breakfast on the terrace was spectacular-crepes made to order (by Eric!) and a view to die for.Location was ideal for walking off dinner in the old town in the evening!

Review 6:Staff was great, very welcoming and willing to help us get where we wanted to go! Wonderful comfortable king sized bed. Great views from our room as well as throughout the property. Easy to park (for free!) our rental car

Review 7:Came in at night...lights down steps to garden room dark.

Review 8:Friendly and helpful staff. Location good for traveling, but a hard walk down to Old Town Villefranche.

Review 9:On the upper highway where the bus goes to Nice and Eze, etc. Only a 50m walk to bus stop and ATM. The hotel and staff made us feel like we were at home. Very quaint, relaxing and comfortable. Awesome view of the Bay de Villefranche. The owners were more than willing to always help us with directions, maps, etc.

Review 10:It's a 30 minute very steep walk down to Villefranche sur Mer & difficult walk back home but there are busses & taxis so don't let that put you off!

Review 11:Friendly, helpful staff & very pleasant room with a lovely view. Great access to busses to explore the area

Review 12:This is a lovely, comfortable and immaculately clean hotel, run by a very charming family who did everything possible to assist us during our stay. Highly recommended!

Review 13:You have to be fit to get to and from the town but there are plenty of buses & taxis. It is worth it to stay at this lovely hotel.

Review 14:The most wonderful and welcoming hotel. The rooms were basic but had everything you needed and the owners and staff were fabulous and the breakfast crêpes were the best!

Review 15:We had our own front door to the garden and pool! Nice and clean room. Air conditioning positioned well (in the corner, perfect to leave on during the night).

Review 16:Otherwise breakfast a bit limited. A lot of climbing from town, you need a transportation. The room decor a bit dated.

Review 17:Friendly staff, pool with a view. Fresh pancakes at breakfast.

Review 18:The hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill. In sun its a 30min hard climb up from town.Have to use taxis after 19.00 or hire a car.

Review 19:The property was kept very clean at all times. The pool was perfect and also kept very well and in the sun most of the day.A peaceful place to stay. The staff were helpful and spoke good English.

Review 20:The only negative was the distance from the harbor...a steep walk to town.

Review 21:The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. The view from the terrace where we enjoyed a drink in the evening and breakfast in the morning was gorgeous.

Review 22:Fabulous view from our room & breakfast on the terrace. Free parking so great location if you have a car. Spacious room. Definitely warranted a longer stay than one night so hope to return in the future.

Review 23:Bathroom was a little bit tired, other than that nothing.

Review 24:Great place with amazing views, a little out of Nice. Very nice and friendly staff, helped with everything, and very attentive. Breakfast was very good: all you can eat pancakes! Pool is also nice.

Review 25:The charge of 12 Euros per person for breakfast was way out of line. The offering was sparse and often the buffet items were gone and not replaced. It was even hard to get a second cup of coffee.

Review 26:The owners were very helpful with their suggestions of places to go and places to eat, just the kind of help mature travelers like my wife and I need in an area that we were not familiar with.

Review 27:Not a lot of choice for local restaurants without travelling down to the seaside.

Review 28:Sea view room was great to wake up to. Fantastic views over the Mediterranean. Wonderful pool and extremely friendly staff who were keen to understand your needs. Great breakfast.

Review 29:Basic and lacked atmosphere due to being out of season, apparently there were others staying there but we never saw any one. Room to small and basic to relax in of an evening but nowhere else to sit either, other than one main reception, come bar, come dining room.

Review 30:Great views, friendly and helpful staff. good position. Very small and basic room.

Review 31:It's a pretty steep walk back up the hill after spending time down in the village, but there are cabs!

Review 32:The couple who own the hotel are fantastic. Very helpful and always ready to help with directions, suggestions regarding the sights, and they make a great breakfast! The view from the terrace is beautiful too.

Review 33:Our first room was a disappointment, downstairs, no door on shower, furniture was poor, air condition barely worked. Second x stayed, was a nicer room.

Review 34:View of Mediterranean Friendliness of staff Location

Review 35:Having tea and coffee available in your room would have been nice.Having to get someone to go get it in the middle of the day, not ideal.

Review 36:A private little hotel with both a wonderful view and a shelteredswimming complex with loungers for everybody and we were allowed achilled wine bucket by your side which made it rather special. The walkinto town not too far and all downhill although the return journey wasout of the question. Bus being the cheapest option and only 1.50 Eurostopping within a few metres from the gate.

Review 37:Location, price, did not include breakfast, room small and dated, on a really busy road and a long way from the sea, only two places to eat meals within walking distance.

Review 38:Pool

Review 39:Nothing to complain of. Older style hotel but well managed and maintained!

Review 40:We loved the convenience of this hotel being between Nice and Monaco and out of centre of the towns! Stunning views to Cap Ferrat and the Mediterranean!! Easy parking out front . Family business and staff couldn't be more helpful! Went out of their way to be accommodating in every way! Thank you!

Review 41:A long steep uphill walk from the seafront. Worth it.

Review 42:A lovely authentic French boutique style hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff who encouraged us to speak French. Breakfast was delightful, sitting on the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean and Cap Ferrat. Our chalet style room with seating outside overlooking the Med was just lovely. Mostly couples or mature adults with no noise. A great location for travelling on the main route from Nice to Monaco. Just lovely. Magnifique!

Review 43:The hospitality and breakfast was absolutely amazing. Thank you for providing such great accommodations in ville franche. We had a wonderful 3 days!

Review 44:We loved Eric's parents who were managing the hotel for the week he was out on vacation. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Loved the views and the pool. Just right for us!

Review 45:Safe in the room would be nice and small snacks to purchase/available at the pool would have made it even better.

Review 46:Enjoyed our stay here very much and would stay again! Were here for four nights and each evening would take the stairs down in the evening for dinner and take a taxi back up for $15 - except our last night we took the stairs and it really wasn't all that bad! Even adding $15 a nght to the overall cost of our stay this hotel was the best value for experience in town. Great pool!

Review 47:WiFi is awful It is at the very top of a very steep hill. Taxis are variable and buses stop at 7pm. No food service during the day...and you are not allowed to eat your own by the pool

Review 48:The owners are lovely and helpful. The pool area is superb Peaceful and quiet

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:The location was stunning, the Hotel was very good value for money and the owners were so helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, so much I didn't require lunch. the price of drinks ie a beer was very very good.€3.00, would recommend to anyone going to this part of France .

Review 51:Only downside was getting back from the Old Town, if you walk it is a challenge, buses sometimes run to their own schedule, but plenty of taxis available.

Review 52:From the moment we got there until the moment we left the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! Room fantastic, everywhere very clean, pool fantastic - we would definitely return.

Review 53:We truly enjoyed our stay. The owners and personal were exceptionally helpful and professional. Loved the crepes offered at breakfast. Excellent value for the price. We hope to be back soon.

Review 54:I did have problems with hooking up my PC to the internet but my iphone and my wife's phone also connected without any difficulty so it could be my settings.

Review 55:While some may think that the walk down to the town is too far, we clearly enjoyed the fabulous vistas from this wonderful B&B. Buses are available during the day to take you up and down the hill. The staff could not be better from the owners to Myriam who watched over us and made sure we were well cared for. Breakfast was excellent. The pool is spotless. We enjoyed it the moment we got back from sight seeing and stayed till nearly dark. The location is fabulous for catching buses to either Nice or Monaco which are two locations clearly within range.

Review 56:Quite a hike from downtown and beach

Review 57:Helpful and friendly staff, all speaking English Nice view from the main restaurant and patio Pool Decent clean room

Review 58:Very nice owners! They can give you very good advice of attractions nearby and the best way to get there. Laurence told us for example very convenient to take a local bus to Nice and parking is easy in Monaco (a Tourist book adviced us to not park in Monaco).

Review 59:You need a car but there is a bus stop outside as well. Having to leave to come home

Review 60:Fabulous view. Good restaurant and supermarket just up the road. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Very quiet and a lovely swimming pool. All spotlessly clean.n

Review 61:Only the pillows. They were foam.

Review 62:Owners Eric and Laurence (his wife, not sure how to spell her name) couldn't have been more helpful. She made reservations for us for restaurants and private beaches, gave us maps and suggestions, and hints about where to park. The hotel was immaculate, well maintained and decorated tastefully. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The pool was clean and the view fabulous. We loved it!

Review 63:The last night of our stay, we did not have transportation and we wantedto have dinner in the next town. Walking back from the train was too farfor late at night. The cab fare was 120 euros round trip which was waytoo expensive. Having a car is a must!

Review 64:The restaurant area had a beautiful view of the Mediterranian Sea. Thebuffet breakfast had a nice assortment. The rooms were clean, comfortableand quaint. Relaxing by the pool after a day of touring was enjoyable.Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 65:Hard walk from the beach to the hotel, not for elderly or people in a bad shape! Bus goes every hour and costs only 1,50 e.

Review 66:Wonderful staff, great view. Breakfast expensive but decent. Very beautiful town. Would absolutely stay again

Review 67:Everything was excellent with our stay at this hotel. Could not fault anything. Owners, staff, breakfast, view, pool, cleanliness, comfortable bed, service, etc could not be faulted. Position was also excellent - close to many beautiful other sightseeing towns.
