Reviews for Hôtel d'Alsace
Review 1:Even though the prior comments were bad and I was prejudiced, I really liked the hotel. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was lovely. I have nothing to complain about!
Review 2:The elevator was not working. Maybe it was just one bad day. But the people there didn't even ask me if I needed help with my suitcase which was quite heavy and with which I had to climb three floors. There was a lot of disturbance in the corridors. I could hear people yell and scream. It seemed like an unprofessional business run by a family (and that's what it is in fact). The staircase area is unclean and it's a horror to see all the junk kept on display although I can understand that under normal circumstances guests would access the floors using the elevator and that the staircase must be an emergency exit. There was no dustbin inside the room. Just a tiny dustbin inside the washroom. I had a tough time dumping down my yogurt pots and taboulé punnets in that tiny little thingy. Only two minuscule soap bars. No toothpaste, no shampoo. No curtains either around the bath tub to prevent water from...well you can imagine.
Review 3:It's cheap. The price I paid (50 € / night) was fair enough considering the hotel's proximity to the Lyon Part-Dieu train station. The closest bus stop if Alsace. You can take bus C3 from Thiers-Lafayette in case you're coming from Lyon Part-Dieu. Supermarkets like Carrefour City and Intermarché are only a stone's throw away from the hotel. There are many small restaurants on the same street.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:I was worried about this hotel because of bad reviews. But I think this hotel is very worth place to stay. Very clean and spacious room and bath room. There was a elevator so very convenient and 24 reception, nice staff there. A little bit far away from the lyon main station but very easy to go there.
Review 6:Room is very small and cramped. Internet speed very slow. Very very noisy area. Can hear people talking till late at night. The wind does not let you sleep if shutter is partially open and it is stuffy if shutters are closed.
Review 7:I was bitten hundreds of time by bed bugs. Also, the emergency exit (stairwell) was blocked (I had to use it because the one-and-only lift waan't working): to get up to my room, a staff member had to un-barricade the back emergency door = Safety nightmare! No shower curtain or bathplug. No tea/coffee-making facilities.
Review 8:The location is OK depending on what you want to do, or where you want to go.
Review 9:Bed sheets were clean but the floor wasn't, suspicious stain on the bed stand and the shower cabin leaked. Noise level was somehow high as I could hear music played at a distance all through the night.
Review 10:Within walking distance of the Part-Dieu train station and the Express train that takes you to the Saint Exupery airport. Really nice and helpful service, even at 5:00 am
Review 11:Sketchy area of town. The bed broke as soon as my boyfriend laid down. He's very skinny. The private bathroom is a joke. The shower makes the entire bathroom wet. It looks like a bathroom that belongs on a boat it's so small. Everything was very dark.
Review 12:Hotel staff took our bags for the day before check in.
Review 13:Thin walls. Could hear the TV in the room next door until 2am, not very pleasant.
Review 14:Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable bed
Review 15:No AC, Different rates in September (Very high). Poor Facilities.
Review 16:No shower curtain.
Review 17:Roomy, clean. Friendly staff, willing and ready to help.
Review 18:There was no fan, it was the summer and the day I were there was very hot. Could not sleep well.
Review 19:the room was not really clean, esp. the bathroom
Review 20:location
