Reviews for Hôtel Le Père Léon
Review 1:The location was great, right in the center of Toulouse. The rooms were sound proofed though though so we weren't disturbed by the city noise. One thing we always look for is a comfy bed and their bed was great. The staff were very pleasant and helpful when we asked for information about the city.
Review 2:The location is central, wlaking distance from main attraction points, close to metro station:ideal. The twin room was large, very comfortable, very clean. The staff was very helpfull and kind. I recommend this hotel.
Review 3:breakfast was not at the expected level for the hotel , both in tyerma of room and in terms of attractiveness , rather banal
Review 4:location and space in the room
Review 5:I was in a room on the first floor above the brasserie and there was an ever present odour from the kitchen. I have stayed on a higher floor earlier and this was not a problem
Review 6:This is my second stay here. The hotel is on a perfect location, the staff is very professional, it is clean and comfortable
Review 7:The door lock is not quite up-to-date - a usual iron key due to which I've forgot to lock my room once. My baggage had been lost during the connection in Paris, so it was brought to the hotel on the last day of my stay and put in my room without any notice from the reception which is kinda odd bc I asked them several times a day about the luggage. But these are really very insignificant flwas compared to overall great experience.
Review 8:The room is quite spacious and comfortable. The shower is modern, there is plenty of towels and a very pleasant soap and shampoo/shower gel brand (although in wall dispensers). A very central location in a beautiful old quarter, not in a bit noisy, which can be the case for Toulouse downtown. The breakfast is decent, loved the variety of honey and fresh croissants. The desk service is friendly and helpful.
Review 9:There was a lot of variety on the breakfast table but it was not all fresh.
Review 10:Excellent location in the center of Toulouse near shops and restaurants. Room was quite small but it had everything neccessary and it was clean and quiet.
Review 11:single room could have a normal chair and something to hang a jacket on... Wifi issue sorted out only next day (otherwise, wifi worked fine)
Review 12:location, breakfast, staff
Review 13:Nothing special. Maybe the room is slightly small, but not big deal.
Review 14:Nearby points of interest. In front of the subway. Nice staff. Everything very clean and correct.
Review 15:In the room there is everything you need. WiFi worked really well. I was on the 3rd floor facing the square and with the closed window I could sleep without problems. I liked that they provide organic soap and shampoo in big bottles to reduce waste production. I did not try the breakfast.
Review 16:The receptionists are very friendly and helpful The room is small, but the space is designed very well with all facilities. The hotel's restaurant is fabulous! the best place to eat in Toulouse is just at the hotel.
Review 17:The breakfast was poor minute hard croissants, no choice of cereals, milk not replenished. I had milk but sat there another 15 minutes and it was not refilled. Ok nobody asked but several looked at jug and found it empty.
Review 18:The reception staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
Review 19:Good location, comfortable bed, good bathroom & shower, efficient air con. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a little small but perfectly adequate for a night or two.
Review 20:The room was a little small if staying for a long time but perfectly adequate for one or two nights. A small/mini fridge would have been handy for cold drinks but the air con was very efficient so the room was never too hot.
Review 21:Good location, very helpful & friendly staff. very comfortable bed and very good bathroom & shower. The room was quiet at night. Breakfast was reasonable for the money and convenient. The air con was very efficient.
Review 22:Parking was a nightmare, as adjacent public underground carpark was compleat. We eventually got parking there, and paid €26 for 16:00 to 12:00.
Review 23:Bright modern room. Pleasant helpful staff. Bang in the middle of this lovely city.
Review 24:WiFi wasn't great but didn't go to spend time online.
Review 25:The hotel was in the perfect spot to get around the city. as for the staff they all could speak English which helped with my terrible French. The rooms are a little small but stylish and clean. And again the staff were very helpful.
Review 26:Unfortunately the lift broke down the morning we were leaving with bags to take down three floors. Info. in the room did not say which evening the restaurant was not open.
Review 27:Drinks-making facility in the room was welcome. The hotel is well-located with a choice of public transport whilst being walking distance from the historic centre. It seemed a popular area with the locals and we enjoyed staying there.
Review 28:The location -perfect for sights, shops, restaurants, river and is easily accessible. The reception staff were charming. The room was spacious, clean and very modern. Breakfast was very good.
Review 29:The Père Léon is wonderfully located for sightseeing and window shopping, and the convenience of public parking in close proximity to the hotel was an added “plus.” The staff were well-trained and helpful – even the new hire could ably describe the surrounding area within walking distance. Our room was well-designed and included a modern shower enclosure (that I wish I had at home). A glass wall separated the bedroom from the bathroom, which made the room feel larger than it would have seemed with a painted/papered wall. The breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality and variety, including eggs (that could be poached), cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, and juices. And, yes, you should give in to the temptation of the Père Léon candies in the bowl on the check-in counter. They’re remarkably delicious!
Review 30:Just a suggestion for the hotel's breakfast. Coffee, other hot drinks, plus juices, were dispensed from automatic machines, when it would have been nice to have the real thing. Otherwise, there was a good assortment of food. Did not try the hotel restaurant as it did not look too appealing.
Review 31:The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Colin, who loaned me his own umbrella when it was pouring rain out. The rooms were comfortable with modern decor and effective air conditioning for those hot summer days. Even though the hotel is on a busy street I found it very quiet. Wi Fi worked without a hitch. Location was terrific.
Review 32:Breakfast - poor selection and horrible room. A real disappointment that it wasn't in the restaurant/ bar overlooking the Main Street. Breakfast room had no view and felt like eating in a store room.
Review 33:Very helpful staff and manager extremely understanding and helpful when my son flooded the bedroom.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:The location is great, walking distance to all the shops and attractions. The room is a good size and clean. Staff was helpful and very friendly.
Review 36:Wifi was intermittent after the first night, wouldn't connect at all.
Review 37:Really comfortable and quiet room. Staff were fantastic. Nice and clean, great location
Review 38:Very good position in the city center, but very quiet. Very nice and helpfull staff. The room was very clean. The bed was excellent. The breakfast was good and worth the money.
Review 39:Friendly staff; willing to keep luggage on night before we stayed there; small room but well-designed and equipped; quiet room at back of hotel though no view
Review 40:This is a gem of a hotel - perfectly located next to the metro and right on the edge of the main square with bountiful shops and restaurants. A few minutes from the riverside. The accommodation is spotless, contemporary and so comfortable. The staff are lovely - always smiling and ever-helpful.
Review 41:breakfast foods did not seem fresh, bathroom door didn't close (also didn't lock), Wi-Fi-reception poor in our room.
Review 42:comfortable beds, everything was clean, beautiful styling, quiet rooms, good location
Review 43:This is an excellently located hotel. There are loads of good places to eat around, it is close to the centre. There is a metro stop literally next to the entrance and it is close both to metro lines A and B. Rooms are sound isolated. There is an industrial strength air-conditioning, lifesaving in a heat wave. Staff is professional, kind and speaks excellent english. I would like to commend the cleaning staff: efficient, thorough and *invisible*.
Review 44:There's public parking almost right below the hotel, which cost 26 EUR per day. The only problem for us was that when we tried to pay, the machine would only accept local credit cards and no cash. We tried German and Hong Kong credit cards but all were rejected. A kind French women helped us out and paid for us with her own card and we paid her back in cash. Otherwise we would have had trouble getting our car out. Not sure how other people handle this.
Review 45:We only stayed for one night in Toulouse, so the right location was most important to us. Le Pere Leon was just right for that. It really is right in the middle of it all, so all we wanted to do and see in that short time was within walking distance. Another reason why we chose to stay here was because it has air-con, since it can get very hot in summer. Rooms are basic but good enough. The shower was great after a long drive from Lourdes.
Review 46:Didn't have any.
Review 47:I headed up to Toulouse from Perpignan and it was just a stopover. The hotel, staff and the city were well worth visiting and I hope that next year, I'll go back.
Review 48:Noise of nightclub close by and being woken up by noisy drinkers at 4am.
Review 49:Metro station right outside the hotel. Lots of places to go to eat and drink close by.
Review 50:I cannot write anything negative. I shall definitely stay here again if I return.
Review 51:Everything about the hotel was really outstanding! Multi lingual reception workers were a serious help!
Review 52:The room has been refurbished and looks nice clean and modern however the shower room and toilet are basically in the middle of the room with no privacy. The walls are frosted glass which you could deal with but the door doesn't fully close. This is not ideal when sharing a room and would put me off booking this hotel again. No tea or coffee making facilities was a bit disappointing. If that wouldn't bother you then it is a nice hotel.
Review 53:Location. Close to the river where there is a nice park to site. Also close to museums and cathedrals and the square. Lots of good bars and restaurants. Staff were very pleasant.
Review 54:There was no refrigerator in the room. It would be nice considering the hot weather.
Review 55:The hotel is at an excellent location. I really enjoyed the breakfast which was rich with plenty of cheese and bread.
Review 56:Incredibly great location, just five steps from the subway station, a supermarket nextdoor, and a restaurant on the other side.. A short walk to the Capitol.. Modern and clean rooms... Very good breakfast.
Review 57:The bathroom was in the corner of the room with frosted glass walls with a door without a lock, which led to a lack of privacy.
Review 58:The room seemed quite warm but may just have had settings wrong on air conditioner
Review 59:Lovely quiet room in centre of Toulouse with friendly staff who barely raised an eyebrow at my mistakes in French!
Review 60:I read previous reviews and when they allocated us to a first floor room I asked to be changed as reviews I read said first floor can be noisy and wifi cuts in and out. We were moved to the fourth floor and no problems.
Review 61:Location
Review 62:I found that the breakfast was not worth the price compared to other 3 star hotels where I have stayed.
Review 63:The room and bathroom were new and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The location was very good, being close to a nice area with good bars and restaurants as well as public transport. The staff were very friendly.
Review 64:The mattress needed turning - hotels never do this but it would make all the difference.
Review 65:My single room was compact but not cramped. Everything in it had been well-thought out and well designed, especially the lighting. The pillows, so often poor in most hotels, were plump and there were two of them, so that you could read in bed, using the spotlight provided. The bathroom was also excellent. There were no fancy toiletries but I'd rather have a full-length mirror and decent towels - which you get here.
Review 66:Even though the hotel has been recently and nicely renovated, when you book a single room, they literally give you a single and most uncomfortable little bed. Not a good choice for solo Travelers.
Review 67:The hotel location is Esquirol wich is very convenient for walking in the city
Review 68:Bedroom a bit too cramped. We had to take it in turns to walk round the bed.
Review 69:A good situation for walking out into handsome pedestrian streets and for nearby museums and the river. Fine rooftop view from 5th floor window. Quiet.Good bathroom and shower
Review 70:the breakfast wasn't good at all. expensive and low quality. but there was an amazing boulangerie just around the corner (in every corner actually)
Review 71:excellent location!! comfortable and clean. good wi-fi
Review 72:Nothing.
Review 73:Dinner, bed and breakfast in the same building. Food shop next door. Close to everything. Comfortable and quiet. Good, profressional service.
Review 74:nothing
Review 75:I arrove at 10:00 a.m and as they had room free, they gave room Keys. Location is great close to marrkets, restaurants and front metro station Helpful staff, in-room safe, good wifi and the best value for Money. If I come to Toulouse again I stay ther
Review 76:Not unique to Le Pere, but rooms a bit small. Air conditioning (also a frequent occurrence is either in summer or winter mode, so if staying in shoulder season one sometimes wants heat when cooling is available and vice versa.
Review 77:Specially friendly staff Modern and clean rooms, very good bathrooms, comfortable bed, Laptop size safe, practical if not luxurious clothes hanging and storage. Upper rooms have pleasing views. Excellent location for most business and leisure visits. Opening windows, but also excellent soundproofing - a feature other hotels could learb from
Review 78:No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
Review 79:Friendly staff, great restaurant downstairs with huge servings, comfy beds, stylish decor, good buffet breakfast. English stations on tv which was great after a full day of exploring the city on foot.
Review 80:The design of en suite makes it far less than private , more style over substance.
Review 81:Location is great, Nice part of central Toulouse . Comfy beds, very clean rooms , all you need is there. Wifi is free. Friendly staff who speak English which we are grateful for.
Review 82:the breakfast is a bit tired, but the room and surrounds were fine
Review 83:location is brilliant for walking the old city, the off site car parking is underground, available and only 50 metres from the hotel. The staff we met spoke excellent English and were very helpful and the rooms are modern and well presented.
Review 84:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 85:Location, Service, Comfort, Amenities, Soundproof, Modern, Decent breakfast for price paid, Large in room safe, Good restaurant on site, but surrounded with excellent choice for restaurants
Review 86:The rooms could use a kettle, especially as there is no room service. I like the hotel so much that during my second stay I bought myself a kettle to use while I was there.
Review 87:Excellent location in a lovely central part of Toulouse, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and windows that cut out the street noise almost completely.
Review 88:Room was small (but in excellent condition and the bed was very comfy).
Review 89:Hotel is clean and friendly with really well isolated air conditioned rooms. Less than 10min walk to place du capitole. Wonderful and I highly recommend le père Leon.
Review 90:This is the nicest 3 star hotel I've been to. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable, the perfect base for a city break. There is a metro station just outside but most of the main attractions of Toulouse are within walking distance. Staff were extremely helpful and were happy to give recommendations for restaurants.
Review 91:An excellent hotel in the heart of the city yet very quiet. Great transport links. Recently refurbished, spotlessly clean with friendly helpful staff. A great choice for a city break.
Review 92:The quality of breakfast is not amazing but it is okay. The second day my towel (which supposed to be change and clean) had a very bad smell, I hope they didn't make a mistake and the were clean and not used from somebody else... in any case I would repeat hotel, it is one of the best in Toulouse for sure!
Review 93:The hotel is just in the metro station and exactly in the City Center. The staff is nice and speak english (not only french as other many places I has been). The room is clean and confortable.
Review 94:Some staff members were less helpful than others but really, this is a minor complain.
Review 95:It was right in front of the metro line which made logistics to and from the train station a breeze. Toulouse is a small town so everything is within walking distance but this really was at the heart of all the shops, restaurant and the river. Despite its central location and our street facing room, it was amazingly quiet and private. Breakfast spread was very decent.
Review 96:Can be a bit noisy at night due to party goers, but we solved this by keeping the window closed.
Review 97:Very handy location in regard to bus, taxi, metro, and well within walking distance to everything in the Centre Ville. Handy to all types of eateries. Staff are attentive and very friendly and 24x7. Rooms are modern and well equipped. Our fifth floor room had a great view. Overall very good quality stay and good value for money. Recommended.
Review 98:The rooms are small but immaculate and efficiently laid out. The woman who welcomed us was extremely nice and helpful, booking restaurant reservations and looking up the location for a special request. We ate at the brasserie downstairs one night and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food.
Review 99:not much , but if i was being picky , WiFi dint work in the room or elswhere no BBC news channel none of this distracted from a good place to stay
Review 100:central location but you wouldnt know it as it is very quite, rooms are fine beds comfy located in the heart of the city so easy to get around.Staff were excellent
Review 101:Very noisy air conditioner which got worse at night and adversely affected the quality of sleep. Uncomfortable pillows.
Review 102:Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and spacious corner bedroom. Central location walking distance from the historic areas.
Review 103:Bathroom is built into room making room small - very modern and well equipped but door and walls are frosted glass which made for a feeling of lack of privacy
Review 104:well located hotel for visiting Toulouse although initially difficult to find even with satnav. Extremely helpful staff - we had a car problem and they were excellent in liaising with garage and breakdown staff. Room clean and comfortable although perhaps on the small side but very good for the price for such a centrally located hotel
Review 105:WIFI was very slow.
Review 106:Location was convenient to shopping & restaurants. Very clean and standard airy room. Friendly staff and speedy check in and out.
Review 107:Air conditioning noisy, had to turn it off at night.
Review 108:The situation of the hotel is very central close to Metro, shopping and historical sites & museums. The check in & out efficient and quick. The rooms recently refurbished and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly & courteous. Breakfast good value for money
Review 109:Nothing was there to dislike
Review 110:The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. With only 2 days the desk provided us with many choices of outings. All very kind..the breakfast at the hotel was good value and very good. Would sty again for sure
Review 111:In the next refurbishment the hotel can get rid of the glass separator of the bathroom. Looks modern but when the bathroom light is turned on at night, people sleeping can get disturbed. Did encounter this type of design (at least this one is not see-through) in quite a few places, those designers should be really heavy-sleepers.
Review 112:Location is good. No surprises, you get what you read.
Review 113:Staff were very helpful from the moment we checked in giving us a choice of rooms. The room was spacious, clean and a great temperature with the air con. Beds were very comfortable and although on a main street the room was extremely quiet.
Review 114:The bathroom walls & door being made of frosted glass was very strange. We all would have felt more comfortable if the bathroom door had a door knob or latch or some type of mechanism to secure the door in place. Instead the edge of the door just met the edge of the wall.
Review 115:We loved the location & freshness of the place. We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very pleasant & helpful. Rooms were large & very nice. Location was convenient to shopping & museums & restaurants & we walked everywhere.
Review 116:There was not even a boiler in the room, no spoon or anything, no mini fridge
Review 117:Cleanness, personnel's smiley face, just nearby to Monoprix and the old town
Review 118:The location
Review 119:Comfortable, good location, handy for Metro and old city. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A perfect base for a short break in Toulouse.
Review 120:Good location
Review 121:Our double bedroom was a little small
Review 122:The hotel receptionists were so very helpful and pleasant
Review 123:Nice location near everything. Excellent staff - super helpful
Review 124:Staff very helpful and freindly
Review 125:Dinner coupon, I thought it was for free meal.
Review 126:Nice staff and location.
Review 127:Staff helpful and obliging. Room was big and clean and bathroom also.
Review 128:Very clean and comfortable hotel. Very good beds! Staff very helpful and accommodating Good location for sightseeing and eating out.
