Reviews for Villiers Lodge

Review 1:Location is only good if you are visiting nearby Surbiton. It is a nice quiet road though. The price of breakfast was a bit expensive.

Review 2:Hospitality was excellent. Very clean B&B and rooms were warm and comfortable.

Review 3:Room was slightly too warm for our liking, even with the heaters off, but it was a minor issue.

Review 4:The owner Daniel was very friendly and extremely helpful. Communication was excellent and he did everything to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of, even driving in to cook us breakfast when his staff were unable to make it. There is off-street parking available, and the room was furnished to a very high standard. We would happily stay again next time.

Review 5:Professionalità, cortesia, disponibilità a 360°. Professional, round-the-clock availability to meet customers' requirements, courtesy and friendliness.

Review 6:Owner couldn't have been more welcoming. Lovely big family room, very good location. Beds very comfortable and rooms spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice.

Review 7:Nothing at all.

Review 8:Villiers Lodge is a beautiful house with lots of character. It is in a peaceful location and is very quiet at night. Delicious breakfasts with a wide range of choice; try the 'light as air' omelettes! Superb service from beginning to end by Daniel and Nadia. This is a 4-star B&B which equals many boutique hotels I have visited. Very highly recommended.

Review 9:Daniel was wonderfully welcoming and accommodated my rather strange check-in and return time with grace and kindness. The facilities were of the highest standard and the breakfast delicious and cooked to order.

Review 10:I needed a hotel for the weekend of the Rugby World Cup Final and was lucky enough to book the last available room at Villiers lodge. It is a good looking building with excellent curb appeal. on arrival the staff were very welcoming and informative, and very keen to please. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. I would stay again and recommend to others.

Review 11:Very warm welcome from friendly, helpful and thoughtful owner. Beautiful Victorian building carefully converted with very comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast with very good choices. Plenty of quality products and facilities in room. Free WiFi and parking.

Review 12:Daniel and Nadia...they are wonderful person I've ever met. I deeply appreciate what you have done for me. I'm sure I'll be back your hotel again!

Review 13:Bathroom's are a little too compact in some rooms (arm pressing on towel rail while using the toilet) but that's a tiny detail!

Review 14:Pretty much everything was superb. The staff are great, place is spotless and the little touches are lovely.

Review 15:Quite a way from the station if troll eying cases so suggest a taxi as uphill

Review 16:The breakfast was excellent and had no problem coping with my gluten free requirements

Review 17:The only negative l have is that we only stayed one night.

Review 18:The owners are a credit to their industry. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was exceptional. The welcome was warm and informative.

Review 19:Daniel and Nadia are extremely gracious hosts. So helpful with questions and going that extra mile to help accomadate my daughter and I in such a chaotic time. World rugby championships made it difficult to secure places. Thank you so much! Next visit to Kingston...I'll be knocking at your door!

Review 20:There is no getting away from the issue of price, it is expensive (even compared to what we're used to in the Cotswolds where we live) but, you almost don't mind once you meet Daniel and see just what he provides in what is an expensive location.

Review 21:Daniel is the ideal person to run a B&B like this one; he has very high standards and makes sure all his guests receive the highest possible levels of care and attention from when you book to when you leave.

Review 22:The food service, selection, quality, and taste of breakfast is remembered even now after my return to New Zealand.Exceptional warm and friendly Hosts.Location, garden and accomodation fantastic.Highly recommended to other travellers.

Review 23:Personal preference only and it won't matter to everyone, but our large bed was two mattresses, and we prefer not having the line in the middle.

Review 24:We were made to feel very welcome, the house is beautiful and the breakfast is one of the best I've had! It was more expensive than other accommodation, but you definitely get a better quality stay.

Review 25:Just fantastic. Daniel welcomed me as a member of the family, showed me around and made sure I had everything I need. The room was nice and comfortable. VERY clean. VERY impressed.

Review 26:I was made to feel very welcome having received a genuinely warm greeting and a free room upgrade. The style, cleanliness and comfort were far superior to chain hotels. The breakfast was absolutley perfect.

Review 27:We booked Villiers Lodge because we wanted to stay somewhere that was handy for Wimbledon and the M25. Villiers Lodge certainly met those criteria, as we arrived there just 30 minutes after we left our seats on Centre Court. It is also convenient if travelling to Wimbledon by train. The location was perfect, easy to find and very quiet even though it was close to the centre of Surbiton. We had booked a twin room and were amazed to find that our room was massive, with a king sized double bed and a king sized single bed, together with a sitting area comprising 2 armchairs. The bed was very comfortable – one of the best beds I have ever slept in. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of items for continental breakfast and hot food cooked to order. Daniel was an excellent host, constantly ensuring that we were happy with our stay. When we booked, we thought that it was a little pricey, taking advantage of Wimbledon and the Hampton Court Flower Show. However, we soon realised that it was more expensive than other B&B’s because it was much better than most. It couldn’t have been better.

Review 28:The owners were very helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble, providing us with a very welcome cool drink when returning to collect our bags. The room was spacious and comfortable. The tomato at breakfast was PROPERLY cooked - well done!

Review 29:Villiers Lodge is in a peaceful location, close to train links to London and surrounds. The house is lovely and the breakfasts are superb! Daniel is very attentive and informative.

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Daniel as always was there providing excellent service, food, accommodation and advice on local events etc. We have stayed 3 or 4 times over the last few years - and it gets better all the time. Daniels is striving to improve the service and facility - Excellent

Review 32:I booked as it was close to where my daughter lives and we weren't disappointed. We had a lovely stay and our Host Daniel was very attentive and nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality ingredients. Good location for visiting Kew Gardens, Richmond, Hampton Court you can travel by boat to Richmond and Hampton Court, this is on our list for our next visit. We will be staying again.

Review 33:Host Daniel excellent, very attentive to detail and pleasant. Bed super comfy. Free parking on site and wifi. Quiet location. Excellent breakfast. Loved the character of the building even though everything was fresh & updated.

Review 34:Friendly welcome. Very clean, comfortable and excellent breakfast. Also, close to the railway station if you want to travel up to Central London. No complains what-so-ever,

Review 35:The owner called us in advance to say hello and discuss arrangements. He was just as warm and solicitous when we met. His wife was lovely and cooked us a great breakfast.

Review 36:Daniel is over solicitous. To my taste he is over-attentive, though for many that will be very much a plus point.

Review 37:A lovely Victorian house wonderfully made over. Freshly cooked breakfast.

Review 38:This was our second time at Villiers Lodge and once again our overnight stay was first class. Daniel rang beforehand to confirm our time of arrival and there was no problem when I rang back to make it earlier. The villa has ample off-street parking which was one of the reasons we chose this B&B the first time. When we arrived we had a choice of rooms and we opted for the large downstairs room with a sofa. Again, the room was airy and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the contemporary en-suite bathroom had a double shower and was stocked with amenities & face cloths. Breakfast is delicious and if you choose either a full english breakfast or omelette, it is freshly cooked for each guest. There is an array of continental items to choose from while you wait, along with a selection of cereals and juices. Oh, and, if you are a fan of speciality teas there is also a tea menu to choose from! We tend to avoid B&Bs when travelling but Villiers Lodge has everything and more than we find in a 5* hotel - you definitely won’t get a better breakfast in a 5* hotel! I highly recommend Villiers Lodge if you are visiting the area.

Review 39:We felt thoroughly pampered, from the moment when Daniel called us as were en route to Surbiton. The welcome and care we received were of the highest standard.

Review 40:The B&B is situated within easy walking distance either along the river into Kingston or to Surbiton Train Station, which has a regular and fast service to Waterloo. There are plenty of free parking spaces in the B&B's grounds, which is a great bonus because it is difficult to find a parking space in Surbiton. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room was well furnished with tea making facilities etc. It was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We will highly recommend it to friends. Vielen Dank, Daniel!!

Review 42:cleanliness, attention to detail, superb breakfast choice, welcoming attentive host, location, free parking free WI- FI.

Review 43:The owner Daniel rang on the morning just prior to our setting off and from that moment we felt welcomed to Villiers Lodge, we had a long journey (to a family party) 1 bus 4 trains, but we were welcomed when we got their with an up grade to a lovely room the breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was excellent. We would highly recommend this lovely friendly venue. Mr. & Mrs. Askew
