Reviews for Tewitfield Marina

Review 1:Unfortunately, Hurricane Desmond caused some leaks to appear on doors and windows, making the stay a bit of uncomfortable.

Review 2:Excellent facilities, everything you'd need is provided.

Review 3:Nothing - it was all good.

Review 4:It was a very warm and welcoming apartment with all the facilities required for a fantastic break. We had a meal in the nearby pub which was lovely!! would definitely book again

Review 5:I like the apartment and the view of the marina it is just so relaxing, plus you have longlands Hotel just across the car park were you can have a meal, or bar snacks lovely weekend break.

Review 6:The ground floor balcony could do with a gate so that pets and small children could not run directly out into the canal. Some of the lighting could be better, very dark between Swan and Mallard and nearly fell down the steps.

Review 7:Very clean and comfortable, nicely furnished, all the extra things thought of such as 2 tea towels, bin liners, some tea and coffee. Overall excellent and will definitely stay again.

Review 8:It's a shame that a 4 bed apartment is the same footprint as a 2 bed.The 3 bed is a lot nicer layout.Having 1 sofa and 3 cheap bucket chairs in the living room was disappointing.

Review 9:The Marina is lovely. The views are stunning, especially when the hedges grow and the cars are no longer visible!

Review 10:Noise from M6. No wifi and no EE mobile signal! Longlands Inn stops serving food 4-5:30pm everyday.

Review 11:Excellent well maintained accommodation in ideal location for lakes and dales. No evidence of previous owners pets. Lovely canal walks and good value food and drink at Longlands Inn.

Review 12:Location - overlooked marina and just off M6 - we were travelling rather than holidaying in the are. Huge apartment with bedrooms, of which were en site. Everything you cold want was there =- tea, coffee, milk, toiletries, towels etc. Kitchen was amazing. 2 Mins walk to real ale pub with great food and ambience. Great walking from doorstep.

Review 13:No poor experince

Review 14:Lovely accommodation just a bit too near the M6. We were well pleased with the accommodation and in Lapwing which is closest to the motorway we were not disturbed inside. Good choice

Review 15:fire alarm bleeping in middle of night because of faulty or expired battery. Response to text messages from Tewitfield staff at 0730.

Review 16:south-wset facing patio. marina location. good area for exploration. access to towns and coast. Assistance from staff to amend the dates of our stay by one day, and their concern after the incident with the alarm

Review 17:Having to go home.

Review 18:This was our second time at tewitfield marina, I can highly recommend a stay here it is a lovely place and is very handy for the Lake District. The longlands hotel is right on your doorstep and does lovely meals.

Review 19:1.No easy access to wifi. It was available in an office in the complex. 2. Noise from M6 motorway

Review 20:The apartment was comfortable and well appointed. The canal side walk was very pleasant

Review 21:I can not think of 1 thing we didn't like.

Review 22:The grounds were so quite and the apartment was stunning, photos didn't do it justice. Super relaxing weekend. Definitely going back

Review 23:That awful smell outside near the bins where we had to park our car on a few occasions. Seats were uncomfortable. Needs new/better vacuum cleaner and iron - vacuum cleaner didn't hoover very well (hence nail clippings in bedroom and on living room mat when we arrived?) plus iron was not great at ironing! - not 5* in my books.

Review 24:Location was excellent, near everywhere we wanted to go. I was very pleased that the accommodation had a washing machine and dish washer.

Review 25:We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The apartment has all the facilities you need and is very clean and comfortable. We would definitely return.

Review 26:Accommodation excellent gleaming perfect location apartment fitted out with everything needed and more couldn't find one fault with this fantastic facility would highly recommend and definitely return

Review 27:We stayed in 6 Swan House for 3 nights. On our first night we noticed a lot of noise coming from the family next door in 7 Swan House. I'm not sure how many were supposed to stay in number 7 but there were 3 adults and 3 young children. Their children were literally running wild around the property screaming and shouting till 11.20pm - it sounded awful and it disturbed our daughter. It seemed to stop by 11.30pm so I didn't complain but would have done if it had of continued any later. Their children fed the ducks bread the next morning from plastic plates then threw the plates in the water, I told the father this was inappropriate and could harm the birds, he did say he would ask reception for a net. Thankfully they left at 12.30pm that day.

Review 28:Everything! High quality tasteful furniture & very comfy bed, lovely setting, easy to find, good location for exploring the area, great value for money, nice pub just a stroll away. Overall, we all felt very impressed with the property and would definitely return for a longer stay maybe next time. Thank you.

Review 29:not expected to have so many children running about and making lots of noise in the evening But then thats children that are not controlled Sorry to have to write this comment

Review 30:easy access to all the places we wanted to visit

Review 31:Small details overlooked eg TV in bedroom had no signal, ironing board needed new cover. Bed extremely low, quite difficult to get out of if you have dodgy knees!

Review 32:Very stylish apartment, tastefully furnished with excellent kitchen facilities. Lovely balcony overlooking the marina. Modern bathroom. Good quality bedding and towels.

Review 33:Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Windows either opened too much or too little; opened too much and the wind blew in and blinds were everywhere.

Review 34:Layout of accommodation. Well fitted kitchen. Total of 3 toilets; great with children. Nice clean furniture. Excellent location for Lakes; beach and Yorkshire. Nice farm to visit right opposite marina but felt it was a little costly.

Review 35:Be good to have wifi throughout the complex ironing board and clothes airer defective. washer drier would be preferable rather than washing machine grocery/frsh produce outlet needed on site

Review 36:Location, marina view, adjacent to a canal. Kitchen equipment Balcony overlooking marina

Review 37:As you know the WiFi needs to be installed in some appartments. And in our room(4)it needed a more comfy chair the two seater couch was great.Other than that we had a great stay Thank you

Review 38:The location was very good and surrounding areas great as well.As above self catering was very good.

Review 39:The place was very nice and tidy no mess, very clean. The longland pub / restaurant the same, so made it a very nice stay and a very good price highly recommended and will be going again.

Review 40:Wi-fi wouldn't work at all. We should have stayed there longer.

Review 41:Location fantastic Home from Home with all the luxuries you need. Superb facilities, has everything you need. Liked the fact that you didn't meet anyone to check in, it was so handy...... made it so easy with kids. Just parked the car right beside it. Would definetly return again!!! Loved the canal boats. Thumbs up!!

Review 42:The pub could do with a bit more ordlnary food on menu meaning pub grub scampi etc then it would be excellent.

Review 43:The longlands hotel was good as was the accommodation.

Review 44:a little road noise at times.

Review 45:location and facilities were excellent, the marina and canal plus long distance views made sitting outside on the balcony very pleasant. Parking so close to the door is always a plus when moving in and out of holiday accommodation.

Review 46:The settee was not very comfortable/practical but was modern.

Review 47:Near the motorway so easy access. Near the lake district and Lancaster so lots to do. Great walking and scenery. Bird sanctuary close by. Nice being on the canal/marina. The double glazing kept motorway noise out. Quiet and peaceful location, apart from motorway background noise when outside. Nice pub and farm shop nearby. We will come back again.

Review 48:The apartments are situated between the motorway and a link road which is extremely noisy if you like to open the windows for fresh air.

Review 49:The view out of the door , past your personal patio and gazing at the water birds and canal boats is very relaxing , the apartments are very well stocked with all household goodies to make your stay a pleasant one.

Review 50:Slightly noisy fridge freezer, the hum off the traffic from the nearby main road and inadequate lighting over the key lock.

Review 51:The upgrading of the room and now with Wi-Fi. The location and the view over the canal basin nod the cleanliness of the apartment.

Review 52:String smell of dogs, not 100% clean. Advertisement looks like you will get a room over looking the water however we didn't. Advert was misleading

Review 53:Not a massive problem but a small shop on site would have helped. No WiFi a bit of a downer but they do have provisions for the use of it in another area.

Review 54:The rooms were clean and well fitted out. No one bothered us we came and went at our leisure. Just what the doctor ordered, nice touches to the room presentation well worth another visit.

Review 55:Somewhat difficult to find late at night especially due to road works at the exit junction from M6.

Review 56:Very comfortable accommodation, ideal for travelling families. Well equipped, spacious and beautiful location.

Review 57:it is just about the supply of the shampoo and shower gel were limited, which was minor thing that I think you can always ask for more, but we didn't. also there was no laundry detergent although there was washing machine

Review 58:everything just perfect

Review 59:The heating was slightly noisy (TAP TAP TAP noise in the morning!) We also kept hitting our heads on the mirror behind the sofa!

Review 60:lovely view of boats

Review 61:We had a 2 year old with us and the park didn't cater for her age no swings needed a baby swing and small slid. That would have been the topping on the cake.

Review 62:Every thing

Review 63:Very minor points, tea towels, kitchen cleaner, cling film and kitchen foil would have come in handy if they were provided. I know it's self catering and we did bring a lot with us but we didn't think of those. Also wifi would have been good to have planned where we we're going each day and to google locations.

Review 64:Fantastic trip, lovely apartment in a beautiful location. Fantastic value for money.

Review 65:The biggest problem - the only problem I had with Tewitfield Marina was that I was only booked in on my own for 1 night and I wish it could have been longer and with my wife. Next time!

Review 66:Everything. Location, facilities, comfort. Quality of place. Restaurant close by as it a well stocked farm shop and cafe.

Review 67:When in to the bathroom and the toilet had not been cleaned. Looked like someone had the runs. Not a thing you want to face when arriving.

Review 68:The appartment was in and ideal place for getting about.

Review 69:We had two nice balconies but the noise of the motorway spoilt the experience a bit.WiFi signal was intermittent.

Review 70:Location was ideal for our biking holiday. Facilities were superb.

Review 71:The gutter over the balcony leaked when it rained and soaked the patio furniture, so we could not sit outside. Although reported to the staff, the leak was not repaired during our visit.

Review 72:The apartment was clean and warm. The bathrooms were of a high standard and all the facilities were good.

Review 73:This was a gem of a find, great apartment with lively view. Friendly neighbours and staff, with quick access to the motorway and therefore the rest of the Lakes. Can't fault this place

Review 74:Hotel/pub on site was very expensive. Only ate in there once. Not that good a meal. Disappointed that there were very few local pubs for a good meal.

Review 75:Self catered. Took plenty of meals and snacks for a very hungry group of teenagers. Took plenty of DVDs.

Review 76:Too close to the motorway so you we are all the noise and the blinds in the bedroom letting light and no blinds on the glass door in the bedrooms

Review 77:It was lovely and warm and we walked in from the cold wet day

Review 78:I cannot comment on the staff because we did not meet any at the facilities but we were reliably informed by emails so it was not a problem. The staff at the adjoining pub were very welcoming and friendly.

Review 79:The well equipped stylish and comfortable accommodation.

Review 80:i do not drive and the buses are 1 an hour and to get a taxi from/to Carnforth it cost £16.50 one way and it takes up to an hour for it to arrive. which means you cannot get any where easily.

Review 81:The apartment was modern and clean comfortable and well equipped for self catering with lovely view of canal it was dog friendly and the pub was dog friendly and great location . Would stay again

Review 82:Everything was fine, didn't give the staff a rating only because didn't see any. Just collected the key from the safe and put it back when we left - no hassle checking in and out.

Review 83:Clean and spacious apartment. Ideal location for trips to Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale etc and walks along the canal. Quiet location - could only distantly hear the motorway traffic from Swan House.

Review 84:Wi-fi was on trial period therefore not very strong

Review 85:We had with all 3 teenage kids fantastic stay in this 3 bed big, modern and clean apartment. Close to Carnforth to shop for the food, less then 1 hour to be up at the highest areas of Lake District. It took us less then 4 hours to get back to London, so location is a smart compromise. REALLY great value for your money.

Review 86:10am check out was a shame and not mid day but only a minor gripe and i'm sure we could hgave asked to stay a little longer.

Review 87:Excellent value for money with a high standard of accomodation, comfort and facilties. Large open plan comfort right at the side of a canal boat marina. Pub within easy reach but the level of comfort means you have no need to leave!

Review 88:Wehn we arrived in darkness it was a little difficult to find our accomodation but this is only a minor grumble.

Review 89:High standard of accomodation, lovely setting. Close to Carnforth, local pub next door and great farm shop across the road.

Review 90:The price was as advertised as pet friendly and a price given for therental after booking there was an added charge of £20 per night for thedog which we did not know about until we had already paid

Review 91:Location and low noise self catering which everything you could want

Review 92:There was nothing to dislike. Couldnt find any fault with it.

Review 93:The location is great on the mariner, the apartment was excellent. Very clean and a great decor. A good pub a few feet away with excellent food. Would like to do it again.

Review 94:The building is obviously of top quality construction, but they mustve ran out of money when installing the windows, there was major draughts both upstairs and down and this really needs repairing, the 2 nights we were there it was extremely cold in the living room and main bedroom

Review 95:the whole apartment is awesome and modern a quality holiday home

Review 96:Fantastic modern accommodation. The motorway is close but not too noisy. It is a lovely setting with views out to the marina & walks nearby. There is a nice pub a few strides away, we ate there, the meal was very nice & a good selection of beers, plus the dog can tag along too. The South lakes & North Lancashire areas are just a short drive out. Would go again.

Review 97:Shower wasn't great. The kitchen could have included things like spices, foil etc to cook, the basics as it's not reasonable to have to bring all this yourself.

Review 98:Modern, clean, comfortable

Review 99:Main bedroom window did not close properly, therefore noise from M6 heard. Mattress in main bedroom very hard

Review 100:Excellent apartment, tasteful decor, very spacious. Most enjoyable stay.

Review 101:Didn't stay long enough. Great place and wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 102:Very nice appartment, perfect for a family, very new and clean, quality fittings and equipment not cheap rubbish, so much better than a standard hotel, lovely location close to motorway but by the canal, and amazing booking service. I only ever bother to rate when it's 100% deserved and in this case 10 out of 10!!!

Review 103:There was not anything that we could fault. The shower was a little lack lustre, but otherwise we had everything we needed and more.

Review 104:The apartment was modern and warm with a balcony that gave excellent waterside views. Transport links and location meant that we could visit a range of attractions, including Leighton Moss, (recently featured on BBC Autumn Watch) Walks along the canal side to Carnforth and beyond meant that we were able to do exactly what we came for...rest and walks.

Review 105:If you had a noisy neighbour you would know but guests are asked to act responsibly and not be noisy

Review 106:Excellent base for a short break for southern lakes, Morecombe and Dales

Review 107:Didn't send me the accommodation details, had to ring myself to get the key code and the apartment number. Wasn't very clean- lots of dust under beds and inside wardrobes, clothes got dusty; dried food on cutlery.

Review 108:Well equipped and spacious.

Review 109:quiet area, not many places to run the dogs (went with three new family dogs all under 6 months). farm land and canal walks not safe for young pets. Family farm across the road does not permit dogs, so couldn't access this facility.

Review 110:Apartments are of high quality with excellent kitchen facilities.

Review 111:few maintenance issues, no staff interaction to speak of, sofa uncomfortable, digital tv not great in one of the bedrooms, internet non existant

Review 112:facilty, location, cleanliness, great view from all rooms

Review 113:without car is impossible to stay at this place.

Review 114:The hotel is just infrond a canal with swans and ducks..very calm place. The appartment is new ,with all somebody need to feel like home

Review 115:A BIT of motorway noise in some apartments but really not enough to put most people off.

Review 116:Was due to go camping in the Lakes with five friends but the weather forecast was awful, so we booked three two bedroomed apartments instead. What luxury! Nice enough to live in and excellent value. Far better than B&B.

Review 117:Broken dishwasher found on arrival late in the day after a long trip had contaminated the whole apartment. Led us to believe that the apartment had not been checked properly since the last occupants. Staff reacted by moving us to a larger apartment where we were allowed to stay for our week. Night time in the main bedroom was spoilt by having just vertical blinds which allowed the room to be illuminated by the exterior lighting to the property.

Review 118:Space and being able to cater for ourselves. Fixtures and fittings were high quality. Compensated for our problem on arrival by staff.

Review 119:It is a bit isolated and you require a car to get about. Only one local pub which was quite expensive. There was unwashed dishes in the oven which was a bit off putting. The carpets had been cleaned and although we had been advised by the staff, they were still wet and the room smelled of vomit for the duration of our stay

Review 120:The accommodation was very good with good quality furnishings. The apartment was well served with electrical appliances . The linen was also to a high standard .

Review 121:A super outlook and so quiet; even though it was near the motorway you could not hear it inside the apartment. Very well equipped and comfortable plus great value for money.

Review 122:Proximity to the M6. This made it a very convenient location but the traffic noise was intrusive. The double glazing was excellent so this was not a major problem when we visited but, in warmer weather, I don't think you would have wanted to have windows open on the motorway side of the house.

Review 123:Overall quality of the accommodation - clean, comfortable and very well appointed. Very spacious - there were only two of us but it would be fine for family of four or two couples. Lovely outlook over the marina. Proximity to the nearby Longlands Hotel meant that we didn't have to cook at all, which suited us on a 'working holiday'.

Review 124:1 x night not enought as cant check in until gone 3pm and have to checkout by 10am which leaves you running around like a looney on a sunday morning. (Not sure if you can ask for a late checkout? Recommend more than 1x night to get the best out of this place.

Review 125:We have stayed here many times and really love it, also very good country inn around the corner called Longlands. Tranquil setting with lovely balcony overlooking the canal marina. Will be back again hopefully for a slightly longer stay.

Review 126:We were led to believe we would have a apartment looking over canal but we didn't, not a big loss as we booked very last minute

Review 127:Very homely has all the features you can need. We didn't want to leave!

Review 128:The appartment was not very clean, dust under the table and bedroom. The noise from the staff downstairs echoed in the corridor early morning and the sofa was full of dog hair. We could live with this however when we arrive I was disappointed to find no toiletries and only a couple of sheets of toilet roll left in the bathroom. On a bank hol we had to go and find somewhere open to purchase, so dont forget to bring your own and save the hassle.

Review 129:The upstairs appartment looked over the marina with some nice walks nearby. The pub meals were nice as was the owners dog. Had a good break despite the negatives below.

Review 130:There were white blinds at the bedroom window and this made the room too light in the mornings.

Review 131:Location of the apartment. Cleanliness and layout. Spacious and comfortable. Pub just around the corner serving great food Plenty of parking

Review 132:Next time I will bring my own pillow as I am a poor sleeper and found the pillows hard.

Review 133:Sitting on the balcony looking at the water, ducks etc. A good base for day trips in many directions. We went to the Lakes, the Dales and also explored the coastal area nearby. It was quiet and we could relax.

Review 134:Only small niggle was that there were very few electric sockets - there wasn't one near to the mirror so blow drying hair was slightly difficult!

Review 135:The apartment was well fitted, stylish and clean. Pleasant terrace to sit on to watch the sun go down. No time consuming check in check out to do. The marina is close enough to interesting/pleasant places to visit. Good food at the nearby Longlands hotel and of course pleasant walks by the canal.

Review 136:Going home.

Review 137:The Marina apartments are absolutely fantastic. They are well equipped with everything that you need and have a fantastic location. The onsite pub is friendly and welcoming and serves good food at reasonable prices. Loved our stay and would definitely return,

Review 138:Nothing

Review 139:Very spacious and bright apartment, perfect kitchen, very clean, beds were really comfortable. Staff very helpful. Everything was perfect. Value for money.
