Reviews for Acqs Hôtel

Review 1:The walls are paper thin. If you walk to Dax centre, take a left from the hotel. If you go to the right, you walk through an industrial area.

Review 2:The hotel is extremely close to the train station, which was convenient for me. Breakfast was nice.

Review 3:Bathroom, windows, staff does not speak English pointed me in to wrong directions, poor breakfast while someone was hoovering at that time.

Review 4:Private parking

Review 5:Reception was closed all afternoon until 18h00. We did manage to getinto the hotel but only by chance. If the hotel is not accessible duringthe day, it should be mentioned on the website ! We asked if we couldhave breakfast a little earlier than normal - at 07h30 because we had along drive - answer : no. Also, the hotel is very noisy - we could hearpeople walking about most of the night. Really not good enough !

Review 6:The location which was ideal for our trip.

Review 7:Room was small with a tiny en-suite. Toilet had a macerator unit (to save space) which was EXTREMELY noisy when flushed. Bed linen was clean but stained. Poor soundproofing. Carpet on stairs and corridor to room was disgusting. Decor great - if you like black! A TV was playing somewhere on the ground floor until 4 30am (no guest rooms on that level). Definitely give this place a miss!

Review 8:Reception and bar look very glamorous but don't be fooled!

Review 9:Unable to stay for breakfast so cannot comment on this.

Review 10:The hotel is just across the road from the station and in spite of this there was very little noise from both street and railway. There is a restaurant which provided us with a very good meal at reasonable cost. The room was clean and comfortable (if a little small) and provided a good night's sleep.

Review 11:Location is deplorable, it states on Booking.com that this is a 10 min walk from the town centre, alas they didn't state which town centre!

Review 12:Friendly staff and food was basic but tasty

Review 13:We arrived late (23.00) so we called in advance to warn the staff of it, as the reception closed at 22.00 - surprisingly, the receptionists didn't speak English at all - and they were quite rude at us - nor gave us any solution for the late arrival. Finally, we had to beg them to leave us the keys to our room with the little French we knew, it was humiliating.

Review 14:The town is like a spa, and the quality of the water amazing

Review 15:No A/C or fan in the room meant that it was uncomfortably hot (in August) and it was far too noisy to sleep with the window open

Review 16:Freshly refurbished Good value Reasonable location, eateries nearby Helpful staff

Review 17:Only one electrical socket! Needed more pillows.

Review 18:Good value, comfortable bed, good night's sleep. Accommodated car with large trailer.

Review 19:The room smelled very musty. Had no air conditioning.

Review 20:The room was very pretty clean and secure car park

Review 21:Friendly and helpful staff. Mother runs the show and she's atop lady. Kind and understanding.

Review 22:ALL GOOD

Review 23:GOOD STOP OVER GOOD SERVICE

Review 24:This hotel was easy to find, the staff were helpful and is good for a budget overnight stop.

Review 25:It was conveniently close to the station. The lady at reception was nice! This is an efficient, not "over fussy" hotel.

Review 26:The room lack of internet in room had to sit in reception although it is advertised no telephone just wires hanging out of the wall an nightmare to get away from with the work t the station opposite and not being able to get in the hotel before 18.00

Review 27:nothing

Review 28:Thin walls & door, building work going on outside. Sliding door into bathroom got stuck, husband was trapped inside !

Review 29:The shower worked . OK if you have missed your train as it is right by the station.

Review 30:There was no elevator which made the trip to the third floor with all my luggage a chore. They were also in the middle of having some work done (as is the train station across the street) which meant pretty much non-stop construction noise during the day. The wifi also only worked in the lobby (the weak signal didn't work in my room).

Review 31:The bed was really nice (large and comfortable), and there was a nice balcony in my room. The staff was helpful and pleasant and the restaurant was good (good food, reasonable price).

Review 32:Two star at best, was expecting much more for the money. Old style, awayfrom town centre, poorly equipped and language problem. Might be okayfor local people, but no good as a European stopover.

Review 33:Not a lot.

Review 34:Nothing.

Review 35:A short walk and within sight of the railway station which was perfect for us as we were travelling by train. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment but it didn't cause any disturbance. They have a restaurant where we had one of the best meals of our holiday.

Review 36:In booking there are photos of new bathroom, that is why we chose thishotel thinking that is has good quality-price relation. When we arrivedwe were given a room with old bathroom, with mold on the celing andwalls and with old and disgusting bath instead of shower. Thereceptionist said that the hotel was full and we could not change theroom, than it resulted that there is only one renovated bathroom in thehotel and normally is not given to guests who stay only one night. Finally, after long discussion we were given the room which standardwhas equal with this on the photos. We were very disappointed about theinsincerity of the offer, the standard is completely different than thephotos show. The personnel does not speak English so it vas difficult toresolve the situation. Definitely not recommend.

Review 37:The personnel was quite nice.

Review 38:Hotel is undergoing renovations and would have been nice to know. Very difficult to arrive at the hotel due to road works. I think when all is done including the rooms it could be OK.

Review 39:Nice breakfast and enjoyed the dinner meal .

Review 40:Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but had nothingto worry about. We got lost and despite speaking little French the staffwaited for us to arrive at 10.45 when last check in was 10pm. Reallykind and helpful. Breakfast was needed for long drive to Spain. Room wasfair sized with balcony, clean and warm.
