Reviews for Hôtel de Charme Villa Roseraie

Review 1:Wi-fi: we had big problems getting connected.

Review 2:The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. A short walk from all the delights of Vence. Excellent breakfast.

Review 3:The shower plumbing was confusing and the temperature hard to get right. Some directions would have been helpful.

Review 4:Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The grounds and views are beautiful. All the decor is interesting and tastefully chosen. The owners are very helpful and charming. The location is good, an easy walk to the old city, and a walk or short drive to Matisse's Rosary Chapel. Nice is an hour away by bus, a stress-free way to visit the big city.

Review 5:I would like to have some more power outlets and some more free surface to put toiletries.

Review 6:Very close to town center, free parking, easy access to hotel room, lovely outdoor breakfast, comfortable bed, flexible and very friendly staff.

Review 7:No heating in bathroom and most light bulbs not working. Breakfast did not look great value.

Review 8:Good room with spacious outside terrace. Easy access to old town. Pool area looked nice although we did not have the weather to enjoy it.

Review 9:Biting insects around the pool. Breakfast was very good but more expensive than most other comparable hotels.

Review 10:Recently and tastefully refurbished; warm welcome; on-site parking; reasonably handy location for old town and good restaurants. VERY comfortable bed in spacious room.

Review 11:Nothing to dislike.

Review 12:Owners were very friendly and helpful. Room very nice with a patio to sit outside! Pool was very pleasant after a day out visiting other places. If,you, wanted to visit this area then this is a very very good place to stay. As many good restaurants to visit in the town, only 5 mins walk away.

Review 13:Pleasant room and comfortable terrace area to sit as well as use the pool. Close to town to walk in or up to the Matisse chapel. While we were there the internet reception was upgraded so we missed a day when it was out of action but was then much faster in the rooms. Fairly close to two roads on either side so the the beautiful setting a bit offset by that

Review 14:Beautiful place to stay, very accommodating , very friendly and very comfortable Hotel. I would highly recommend staying here. We have 3 children from 8, 12 and 14 they all loved it. The breakfast is a must it is excellent with everything served. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 15:This is a very charming hotel just 10 minutes walk from Vence old town. The rooms are well equipped, and the swimming pool was nice, although I did not use it.

Review 16:Wi Fi was not great.

Review 17:The owners were fantastic hosts, could not ask for more. The location to go to and from old town was great, if we returned to Vence we wold stay again.

Review 18:Great central location, warm friendly staff and a lovely vibe. Ideal place to relax and unwind by the pool. Less than 10 mins walk to the town centre and chapelle Matisse. English speaking. Highly recommended.

Review 19:Vence as town not much to offer

Review 20:Special hotel arranged like shabby shick Nice garden and pool Nice owners Who spike good english 5min walk from old City Real great place to relax

Review 21:Nothing. A small, simple, and charming hotel that is as close to perfect as it gets.

Review 22:It's one of those charming properties that makes you think, "I'm so glad to be here." The room we had was wonderful, the staff completely attentive, the breakfast typically French and delicious. I loved this place. Such a better alternative to anything in Monaco.

Review 23:This was our first hotel in France and it was probably the most french in style. We stayed in the attic bedroom which my daughters loved as it was a good size, quirky and charming. I had a glance in a first floor bedroom and it wasn't as nice. The breakfast was delicious and the pool had a small diving board which the girls loved. In the evening we walked down to the town and found good dining at the Restaurant Cote Jardin which was delightful.

Review 24:The staff was so kind, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the location could not be better. We would love to stay here again.

Review 25:unique attic room which we can see sunrise every morning. It was very impressive. coffee machine.

Review 26:Hard to find

Review 27:Beautiful environment in a busy area

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:It was exactly what I was hoping for as this was my first trip to Provence. The charm and comfort were heavenly!

Review 30:Friendliness of the hosts. Position in Vence.

Review 31:Just like it's name it was charming.

Review 32:The warm friendliness of the staff

Review 33:Little accident with the car in the parking lot

Review 34:Very nice owners

Review 35:Wifi very bad, almost non-existing connection No amenities to cook/eat, no forks/knives/plates etc

Review 36:Friendly people

Review 37:WIFI

Review 38:Wonderful hosts very friendly!

Review 39:Excellent, great location, very friendly, lovely rooms. Also a nice bar by a beautiful pool

Review 40:Emanuelle and Gregory and their hospitality.

Review 41:Only complaint was the internet didn't work too well.

Review 42:Large room. Nice bathroom. Very accommodating innkeeper.

Review 43:nothing

Review 44:The breakfast was divine and the accommodation was lovely and the owners were brilliant.

Review 45:Great older style property with plenty of charm and run by a very warm and welcoming family.

Review 46:When you're online and see the photos of the pool and grounds, just remember that your room rate does not include the grounds, unless you buy food or drink from the owners. If you make the mistake, as we did, of not purchasing croissants and coffee from them for €24 (about $33 USD at this time) and have your own coffee on the patio, you'll be in for a very unpleasant experience. The owner's wife descended on us, yelling in french, and when we didn't understand, she screamed even louder. So we moved to the pool area to have our coffee, thinking we were out of their breakfast area - Non! This put her into ballistics. We've never been to this region in France, in Paris and Avignon we, along with other guests, drank our own coffee in the garden area and the owners were fine with it (and they also sold breakfasts). She could have told us politely that we weren't supposed to sit there, and of course we would comply, but we don't understand this level of hostility. It was really terrible. So, no, I would not recommend staying here.

Review 47:The location was within walking distance of the old town with a laundromat around the corner, which was good for us. The grounds are pretty and the room was clean - however, you are NOT allowed to enjoy the pool or outdoor patio tables unless your food and drink is purchased from the proprietors. So if you wrongly assume that you can enjoy your own cup of coffee or plastic cup of wine at the pool because you think this is what you're paying for - Non! You have to sit in your dark little room to drink your coffee.

Review 48:Staff. Rude and obnoxious whilst trying to rip us off, however whilst on good terms, they couldn't help us enough. Rooms were tidy but not spotless as you would expect for the price.

Review 49:Lovely setting and beautiful accommodation set in a really good location. Good sized room and nice traditional bathroom.

Review 50:We visited in October & it was rather cool so we couldn't use the garden etc. We stayed in our room one evening as we had eaten at lunchtime - it was cold & we were unable to put on any form of heating.

Review 51:A lovely room, 15, with lots of charming & useful little touches. Vence is a lovely village with nice shops & restaurants in the old town, but not too twee. Good bus services to visit other sights.

Review 52:$12.00 pp charge for a small breakfast. Hotel is a little run down and needs updating and a good clean.

Review 53:Old town, friendly shop keepers, even though english not spoken readily people were very accommodating. We enjoyed this town and the surrounding courtryside.

Review 54:Breakfast was good but very expensive at 12 euros per adult and 9 euros for my 5 year old child! Also, the hotel offer towels for the pool but do not make it clear that they will charge you for using the towels. The breakfast and towels were unexpected costs that made the stay more pricey than expected so beware...

Review 55:Charming building with beautiful pool and patio areas. Rooms were very pretty and very clean. Good location too. Owner was very friendly and always around to help.

Review 56:Loved the ambiance of our room with the French fabrics and antiques. Lovely breakfast on the patio. Very detail oriented. Owners have done a wonderful job.

Review 57:Noise from roads on either side

Review 58:Lovely room

Review 59:Very friendly and good English spoken. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful location.
