Reviews for Hôtel Le Sauvage

Review 1:The train rail is close to the hotel and it makes very much noise, the breakfast is the worst I had in a hotel in years, the restaurant is only fair that's not what we expect from french cuisine.

Review 2:All was good, no negatives whatsoever.

Review 3:The comfort of our room and our view fro the bedroom window. The location of the hotel is excellent with convenient parking.

Review 4:Don't bother paying for the car park - there's free parking in the square just outside.

Review 5:Friendly, informative staff. Decent, child-friendly restaurant.

Review 6:Value for money stay for a family of 2 adults and 2 older teenagers who need WiFi. We had the set menu evening meal which was very nice with good wine and beer.

Review 7:room with 4 beds a bit odd location in separate building behind, heating with additional electric heater, no wifi in that room. bathroom without place to hang towels, or paper

Review 8:location, close to the autoroute, friendly staff

Review 9:you could not sleep with open windows due to main road and railway (room situated at the front)

Review 10:clean room heavy doors at room (burglar free) nice view on Champs de Mars fine breakfast

Review 11:The decor needs updating....1980's velour!!

Review 12:It was good value for the money but unfortunately it was a very hot day and they have no air conditioning in the rooms...small fan. I'm sure any other time that the room would be very comfortable, just not in the heat of summer.

Review 13:We had not stayed here previously, but about 4 years ago had enjoyed an excellent evening meal. This time the service was extremely poor. They completely forgot one person's starter, and when time came to order dessert we gave up after a long wait. However the quality of the food was good. The room was quite good, but the traffic noise was a big problem. Double glazing means that on a cold day the noise is not an issue, but it was very hot. There is no AC, and we only realised in the morning that there was a fan hidden in a cupboard.

Review 14:The location is ideal when needing somewhere to break a longer road journey through France. Access from the mootorway is good, and the town is well worth a visit, which is easily done on foot from the hotel.

Review 15:Tight parking!

Review 38:Room and furnitures

Review 39:Location and parking facilities. Good breackfast

Review 40:the situation of the room

Review 41:the dinner was good

Review 42:The wifi was not working on both visits. The room we were allocated on our return visit was larger and more comfortable but unfortunately the curtains did not fit which meant that the room became filled with light at dawn (4.30a.m.!)

Review 43:The hotel is well situated, not far off the motorway and very close to amenities in Tournus.. It had the feeling of a very traditional French hotel. The staff were friendly, very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and we were happy to book for our return journey a few days later. Our second room had great views of the roof tops and towers.

Review 44:Dud light bulbs in both bedroom and bathroom indicative of a lack of care and love in the place sadly missing

Review 45:I guess you get what you pay for . The room , stinks and meal all pretty good value but.....

Review 46:It lacked the professional touch in service. The owners are not trained hoteliers but enthusiastic amateurs and it shows. The rooms are a little shabby. The restaurant food is poorly prepared with evidence that most of it is bought in frozen or vac packed and put through a microwave. I would not stay there again.

Review 47:This is a classic old hotel and I had stayed there several times from the 1960's to the 1990's. Its in a good location close to the center of Tournus. Unfortunately it is now under less than competent ownership and much has slipped. The owners were present and very helpful and courteous.

Review 48:Very friendly staff and excellent service. We were made to feel very welcome. Excellent breakfasts with plenty of choice. Comfortable rooms with good amenities and a high standard of décor. Excellent visit all round! This is our second visit to Hotel Le Sauvage, and we would love to visit again!
