Reviews for Warwick Lodge

Review 1:The night before I'ad had a luxury suite on the 22nd floor of the London Hilton. The following night I spent in the the Northey arms near Bath, which is has 5 AA starts and is recommended by the Michelin Guide. The warwick was always on a hiding to nothing.

Review 2:Leaving

Review 3:The entrance to the property was off putting and there was a horrible smell throughout. Like it had been derelict for years. Horrible. Can still smell it.

Review 4:The room looked nice enough.

Review 5:I did ask for a vegetarian breakfast when I booked the lodge. When I went for breakfast the only vegetarian option available was everything minus the meat and so I had just a fried egg, 1 hash brown and baked beans. Vegetarian sausages are not expensive and could be offered as an alternative. The shower was falling off the wall although assistance in using it was quickly provided and I would assume that it has now been repaired.

Review 6:The manager was very accommodating as I stayed with my mum who is partially disabled and on arrival there was no parking space available outside the lodge, he kindly moved his car to allow us to park directly outside.

Review 7:I was close to reception and was aware of internal noise as well as traffic.

Review 8:The staff were very friendly and welcoming and despite the tired building everything was clean and tidy. I had all that I needed in my room.

Review 9:The room we were in seemed to be more for a single person than a couple. There was only one cup for a drink, one bathroom cup and one towel. We had just spent 2 weeks in a small cabin on a cruise but this room was smaller than the cabin!!

Review 10:The hotel was ideally suited for what we wanted. It was clean and staff were friendly

Review 11:we arrived at 7pm and there were no free car parking spaces (we were able to park around the corner though). The double bed wasn't a double but luckily there was a single bed too in the room so a good nights sleep wasn't amiss!

Review 12:We stayed here as we were visitng friends around the corner. This hotel was in the perfect location. The room was basic but clean and everything you need for a short stay - tea/coffee/buscuits/kettle in the room also. It ticked all the boxes we were looking for and would return if a hotel in the area was required for the same reason. We went out in the evening and were able to come back late. The staff were nice and also the cooked breakfast In the morning.

Review 13:The owners weren't very informative, no customers service at all or friedlyness. The room was tiny and old!!! The wifi keep on cutting out and I went there to work! They did reboot the Internet but dos nothing, so I asked for a refund and left.

Review 14:It was very clean

Review 15:Very small rooms and facilities for three star hotel. Some of the rooms are even with shared bathrooms.

Review 16:Friendly sraff, free Internet, freshly made breakfast, clean.

Review 17:Firstly the manageress, she was curt to the point of being rude and extremely negative when help or assistance, even if the most basic kind was sought.Secondly the parking, which was virtually non existent, a selling point was meant to be onsite parking, there are possibly two or three spaces available as a maximum so getting a parking space is a 'survival of the fittest' or 'hunger games' pursuit which does not lend itself to a positive and calming experience or stay. When I made enquiries about the parking, I was instructed by the manageress (yes her again) to "park in the bus lane" which was directly in front of the laughably small parking area. WHAT!!! I cannot think of anything more stressful than parking my car in a bus lane at the mercy of a busy main road and having to wake up early so I can avoid a ticket and the have to hunt for parking again anyway!Thirdly, the original lie of this establishments advert is that it is based in 'Kingston Upon Thames' - this is a bald faced lie, an intentional and insidious manipulation in marketing by the craven owner (I will come to him shortly). My parents have lived in Kingston upon Thames for over 30 years, I know Kingston, this is NOT Kingston but is in fact Surbiton, a more down-market locale compared to the advertised location in all honesty. I'm no snob, but I just prefer honesty so customers can make an informed decision. This whole experience started with a lie which shows why it turned out the way it did. Finally, given all the above factors, as well as the poor accommodation itself, my wife and I decided we did not want to stay the second night we had booked and that one horrible night was more than enough (horrible for many other reasons not mentioned here, noise, uncleanliness, shared bathrooms etc, but I don't think I have enough space and you do not have enough time to read all the failures of this extremely poor establishment).

Review 18:The breakfast bar was the only positive element of this extremely disappointing experience. Every other element of the stay was either a disappointment or downright upsetting (fully explained in the review notes)

Review 19:Well located for our needs. very helpful staff and friendly. clean tidy good breakfast and choices. Our room was at the front and we had no road noise. Will use again when we are in that area

Review 20:The shower was on the small side but adequate and clean.

Review 21:location, parking and proximity to restaurants. Close to New Malden - where we needed to be. Good access to main roads. Spacious room.

Review 22:We had booked a twin room with shared bathroom. On arrival we were given the choice of a room with en suite which we took and were happy with. However, it was tiny.

Review 23:Very clean throughout. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 24:Limited car parking spaces. However the staff were on hand immediately to let me know where, and when you could park on the road

Review 25:Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tidy and good for an overnight stay

Review 26:To hot no air conditioning

Review 27:Good location for what we went there for.We have stayed here before same time of year too hot in room upstair and could not sleep properly

Review 28:Everything was excellent. The only thing I could suggest is a bedside lamp as we had to use the main light.

Review 29:The room and bed were comfortable and very clean. Owners were very helpful and the breakfast choice was amazing.

Review 30:Absolutely disgusting facilities, no ensuite WC was on the floor below and had poo on the wall!! Bathroom wasn't much better. I left the breakfast as it had all been cooked in a deep fat fryer and the air was full of the stench of fat- I went to work stinking of fat! Generally awful - not cheap either.

Review 31:Location, close to the office

Review 32:Our bedroom was in the roof, and we stayed on the hottest day of the year. Our room was stifling, even with a big fan on and the window open. The room was small, with a tiny mirror. The shared bathroom was a bit tatty, but adequate.

Review 33:Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Parking on site. Good value for money.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:Great Welcome by the owners very friendly. Room very clean and well appointed bathroom small but for an ensuite in a single room it was more than acceptable for my needs. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked quickly

Review 36:As a B&B for a one-night stopover it was clean and comfortable and I liked the fact that it was carefully thought out. As a female who needed to wash her hair, mirrors were at the right height, plug sockets in the right place and plenty of ledges to put bits and pieces (sadly lacking in some hotels)

Review 37:Uncomfortable bed. But that's probably just a personal preference.

Review 38:Staff lovely and very helpful and room very clean and well fitted out. Central position for many activities.

Review 39:On arrival there were smells of curry being cooked for the staff meal. Very tight in room and the bed just about fitted in. Lack of heating in room. Cooked breakfast was very poor.

Review 40:Staff were friendly

Review 41:Bathroom door didn't shut properly, shower not v powerful & had to hold shower head. Funny smell on first floor.

Review 42:Comfy beds, good breakfast, great location, lovely staff

Review 43:Limited hotel parking resulted in a £110 fine while I went inside to check where I could park. Staff seemed vague and unable to advise on local amenities

Review 44:Very nice staff, hard working and eager to help

Review 45:Very clean and spacious room, well equipped and the landlady only too happy to help. We used this as a Base for touring around the London sights, Hampton Court only minutes away by car, great value for money.

Review 46:Very welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and tidy room with equally agreeable ablutions. I had a good sleep, well rested and am happy with my stay.

Review 47:The bedroom and bathroom were both humid and musty. The bathroom was very cold. The heat in the bedroom were turned off at daytime, so the rooms never "dried up".

Review 48:The room was very clean. It was a nice bed, but we found it a little hard. Wifi worked perfect in our room, and also outdoors. The owner was helpful, but not interested in selling us breakfast when we hadn’t pre-ordered. Although it was a busy road right outside our window we weren’t bothered by the noise. Good bus connections.

Review 49:I visit the area yearly from scotland to visit family. I normally stay in a travelodge but the homely, comfortable welcome and helpful staff and the super breakfast has made me realise that warwick is for me next time .

Review 50:The bath towels were bath towels and not bath Sheets, could have done with being bigger.

Review 51:The room was at the back, very quiet which was great as we had been travelling since 3am that day. Clean, tidy everything we needed, great shower, comfortable bed and lovely and warm. Breakfast was on time, freshly cooked and hot, hot, hot which was excellent. Help yourself to cereals, juice toast and a very cheerful Gent served us. We could not have asked for better service. Will definitely book again when we visit Family in Kingston.

Review 52:The breakfast could have more options and varieties to choose from. The room rates could have be more easy with the rates.

Review 53:The staff were very accommodative. lodge though small but kept clean n neat.

Review 54:The room was in the attic and during the night it was cold in the room which prevented a good night sleep. No additional covers or blankets available. No hair dryer available. Atherwise all good.

Review 55:Location good. Car parking available. Breakfast good. Hygene and cleaneness excellent.

Review 56:Nothing about the hotel, except it is on a busy arterial road, but that is why I wanted to stay there is the first place! Parking a bit tight outside but hey I got there at 2315! White van man was already there in force!

Review 57:They called me to ask what time I might arrive Even when I was very late, the gentleman welcomed me in, showed me the facilities and breakfast room etc Breakfast was freshly cooked and good quality Room was clean and serviceable. I knew it was a shared loo and it was very nice. Did not bump into any other guests.

Review 58:Room and en-suite bathroom too small IF 2 people had stayed, especially for more than one night

Review 59:Location, value for money, different to a standard hotel

Review 60:Located on a main road and close to flight path from London Airport so noisy most of the time. I had a small single room with a shared bathroom. Other rooms were better equipped.

Review 61:Friendly staff, very clean room and associated facilities. Breakfast service quick no fuss.

Review 62:The room was extremely small and, whilst the amenities were smart, the wallpaper on the ceiling was beginning to peel. I felt the staff didn't really like guests or at least, vaguely resented them. For the price especially, I was very surprised. The B&B is right next to a main road which never sleeps - a bit like me in that room. Wifi was a known problem - only works well in specific areas/rooms.

Review 63:The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, modern and very clean. It was easy to locate and has a large garden to the rear of the property. Parking is available at the front and there is probably room for around 7 cars. It was a roof over my head.

Review 64:Wifi not a very good connection - not a problem for an overnight stay, but would have been if I'd been staying longer!

Review 65:Provided gluten-free bread for me - was very impressed! VERY comfy bed. Staff unobtrusive but there for your needs at all times. Lovely garden - shame we didn't get to use it.

Review 66:Made very welcome. Owners very polite and hotel was lovely & clean. Breakfast was really nice and owners made sure all breakfast items were topped up at all times.

Review 67:although it was a nice bed, we found it a little hard for our tastes. the wifi was very hit and miss

Review 68:everyone was very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were able to find the best way to get to the places we wanted. the breakfast was really filling and well cooked. if we ever need a place to stay near London, we would choose to come back.

Review 69:bathroom door was broken. did not close. breakfast started at 8am too late at the weekend. we had to leave for our venue at half seven so a no time to eat breakast

Review 70:friendly helpful staff near to shops and restaurents. the breakfasts were delicious

Review 71:they didn't do any cleaning during the stay (4 nights) No room service or food facilities except breakfast & do not allow food ordering!! you have to go out to get food.

Review 72:the room was clean on check in. breakfast is okay.

Review 73:The wi fi connection was not strong enough (It did not work ) - so no checking our Emails and the sink plug/top lever was non existent, also, we all could have done with another set of pillows. On a more serious note, at 12 am saturday, we were disturbed by a young coloured man quite smartly dressed, in his late twenties who was trying to force his keys to enter our room,I investigated as he was fumbling around outside with his keys and making a lot of noise, - I told him that he had the wrong room as he was pushing the door trying to force his way in, and although I tried pushing him back out, he continued, he looked 'out of it' and was not in control of himself! It was a frightening experience for me, and in hindsight, I shouldn't have opened the door. other than that, staying at Warwick Lodge was fine! The hosts are very polite and helpful.

Review 74:The quality of food was excellent, the staff very polite, cleanliness very good in the room, which was quiet and relaxing.

Review 75:No a/c. Rooms were very small and cramped. This place was not of my choosing. We stayed there because my daughter's college class stayed there

Review 76:The staff and owners were wonderful.

Review 77:Only downside was not having en suite but we did know that when we booked

Review 78:Very impressed with the hospitality. Excellent breakfast. Staff very obliging

Review 79:-My room's shower had a broken temperature control (bearable, but I could have mentioned it to them). -Wish there was a fan available in the room when I was there (during the summer period).

Review 80:-Very friendly staff, helped my carry suitcase to my room. -No fuss. -Location is close to Kingston Uni. -Very easy transport links to Kingston Uni and Surbiton train station (which is less than an hour trip to Central London). -Good breakfast with flexible options if you request it. -Good wifi

Review 81:Room and bathroom too small. Being on the street side - very noisy. Would recommend to others to ask for a room at back of building, and larger.

Review 82:Close to the bus, staff was helpful and friendly.

Review 83:Quite close to where we wanted to get to (Hampton Court), we got extra pillows when we asked for them and we had a lovely breakfast included in the cost. All very nice.

Review 84:the upstairs twin room has a sloping roof so it is a bit cramped but we only wanted it for sleeping so it was no problem.

Review 85:really friendly helpful lady that runs it. fantastic breakfast- really good value for money very clean easy to get to Kingston and Richmond Park by car Being able to park right outside was very convenient.

Review 86:The hellish traffic all night, police and ambulance sirens, but that was my fault for not closing the window, but I live my life in the quiet countryside of suffolk, I should have expected it.

Review 87:There was nothing to dislike, it was just fine.

Review 88:only one pillow. should have asked for another one but none available in wardrobe

Review 89:good comfortable rooms and decent breakfast. only stopped one day as was going to the flower show at Hampton court

Review 90:The alarm going off despite the bathroom door being closed. I asked if they had decaf tea and was told 'yes'. Then decaf coffee arrived. The size of the bathroom

Review 91:Helpful receptionist - called a taxi

Review 92:Bed was a bit hard, but then I generally do have a problem with beds other than my own. There were 3 of us, all in single rooms which was good and the other 2 didn't seem to have my problem.

Review 93:Helpful owners of the hotel, clean and good full english breakfast. Close to bus stop, easy getting to Hampton Court, which was the purpose of our trip to visit the flower show. Also fantastic Italian restaurant 10 mins walk away Ristorante Sorrento, fantastic food and service, 3 courses plus wine came to £21 per head !

Review 94:We had the last bedroom, perfectly adequate but lacked bedside light and main light not sufficient for reading. Other rooms may have not had this problem.

Review 95:Staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and sort out parking etc. Flexible arrangements re breakfast - excellent bacon sandwiches in lieue as we left very early to join the queue at Wimbledon. Interesting people staying there!

Review 96:We selected this hotel based upon price and location, enabling ease of rail access to Wimbledon. At the last moment we requested a change in date. The proprietor could not have been more helpful in not only facilitating the change but also the extremely late arrival time. The accommodation is relatively basic but more than adequate for an overnight stay and our room was extremely clean. In short, a pleasant experience with friendly and helpful proprietors.

Review 97:Had to leave early so couldn't have breakfast

Review 98:Room had everything I needed - basic but comfortable.

Review 99:Toilet in en suite looked like an after thought no space for a large person to use

Review 100:Clean and friendly staff

Review 101:Internet did work all the time, sometimes happend that wifi was connected but internet didnt work

Review 102:Ownes are very nice and helpful! We enjoyed our stay

Review 103:Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and hot.

Review 104:For the price, the room should have had a toilet en-suite.

Review 105:Personal and warm treat

Review 106:A no fuss stopover and polite staff.

Review 107:There was a stronmg smell of frying

Review 108:location

Review 109:Room very small

Review 119:Friendly hosts and breakfast

Review 120:Price

Review 121:Breakfast and staff

Review 122:Very nice couple who run the Warwick Lodge.

Review 123:Bit further from our destination than was suggested on the website

Review 124:Very friendly staff; very clean

Review 125:Friendliness of the staff

Review 126:Nothing was to our dislike about our stay here.

Review 127:It was exactly what we needed, a comfortable, clean room with friendly and welcoming staff.

Review 128:Room was clean. Lots of hot water in the shower. Good value for the price.

Review 129:A bit dated but clean bedding and shower which is the main thing.
