Reviews for Sagritzerwirt
Review 1:The hotel is a hike up in the upper village - the local buses stop down in the valley, ski buses go up though. Pick-up services are provided, bringing your own vehicle gives you more flexibility. Bu this is a minor point, only valid for a few travellers, I guess.
Review 2:The Lessacher family are great hosts - welcoming, helpful and very friendly: you really feel at home. Food was great, many regional specialities, rich breakfast. Halboard (13 Euro p.p.) is very much recommended and can be booked on a day-to day basis. We had a great New Year´s dinner with a set 4-course menu, traditional music played by the host family and the celebration of the incoming new year. Pick-up service was provided since we came by bus. The ski bus to Heiligenblut leaves near the hotel twice in the morning. You have incredible views from the hotel over the valley!
Review 3:There was a smell I did not like that much, maybe the rooms needs to be aired more. Could be some painting or cleaning substance either. Overall no complains.
Review 4:The location was perfect for access to Grossglockner hochalpine strasse. The room was decent and worm
Review 5:Had some difficulty finding the Place, however after we found it the View is absolutely beautiful and it was worth the little trouble
Review 6:There was nothing we did not liked. The rooms are beautiful, Staff very helpful, this was one of the nicest places we stayed on our trip. Breakfast was delicious!!!
Review 7:Poor breakfast, for my taste too soft bed...
Review 8:Very nice hotel, new and clean, nice Austrian country style, we had nice 3 room appartment with balcony and nice view to the valley below, nice Bier Stube with stylish decoration.....i will be back...
Review 9:- Too soft mattrasses We stayed there for 7 nights, after the forth night we started to have pain in the cervical and lumbar spine in the mornings. - Poor Wi-Fi In the room the Wi-Fi did not work well, only in some of the room's corners. - The cleaness The balcony was not cleaned prior to our arrival, even not during our stay, the towels were torn, but clean.
Review 10:- Perfect location Just a great family run hotel in a charming part of Austria! - The staff The owners and their staff were very helpful and nice. - The food Every morning amazing breakfast; fresh ham, cheese, fruits, great Austrian pastries,... eventhough we planned to have dinners somewhere else most of the nights we had eaten there as the served dinners were excelent! Really great homemade cuisine typical for the region.
Review 11:The location of this place on a hillside overlooking the valley and the views of the Grossglockner are breathtaking. Had a verandah room overlooking all this although a walk into the village is perhaps 30 mins and uphill on the way back. A beautiful find with the most welcoming lady owner in local dress greeting us.The young waitress/receptionist was so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Buffet breakfast as is the norm but plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt etc on offer. The hotel is typical Austrian with wooden furnishings and even a billy goat on the stairs (not alive)! Fabulous place and wished we could have stayed longer for the peace and tranquility.
Review 12:A group of guests was allowed to chat and sing on the terrace until close to midnight - we found it too noisy as our bedroom window was facing the terrace.
Review 13:Spacious and clean room (apartment), friendly staff, good breakfast
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:Full kitchen in warm inviting small hotel perched above the valley. Owners were warm and inviting and helpful. Breakfast was bountiful served in their restaurant.
Review 16:Loved everything about this hotel. The most fantastic views. Friendly staff. A lovely feel. I would love to come here again for a longer stay as we only had one night.
Review 17:there is something maybe I should not complain about, but in this family hotel there are too many specimens of wild animals as decoration. We feel sorry about the animals!

Review 32:Everything was just perfect!
Review 33:We liked everything. This place is stunning, staff are really helpful, food is great, rooms are large and very well furnished in a typical Austrian way. The views from every direction are to die for. We WILL stay there again for sure.
Review 34:A couple of things to watch for - the access to this place involves some very narrow streets, and it is best to call them beforehand to get proper directions. Our GPS sent us through some really narrow lanes (and we had a huge van), and we found out later that there was an easier road. Restaurants shut early, and there aren't that many around.
Review 35:This is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Europe. Location is simply beautiful. Grosskirchheim is a beautiful Alpine village and the property is located on the slopes of a hill, thereby affording a beautiful view of the sourrounding region. We had three rooms - in different parts of the hotel, and they all seem to have a balcony with views. The single room was a bit small, but the two other rooms, although booked as double rooms, were huge, with each room good for at least a family of four. One of the rooms had a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room et. al. I am not sure if this was intentional, or if that is how their double room is - nevertheless, a huge place. There is plenty of parking. The WiFi works fine, and the hosts are friendly. The breakfast next morning was ok- nothing lavish, but hearty. This place is 15-20 min drive from Grossglocknerstrasse - a main attraction in the area, and highly recommended. Overall, a great place to relax and unwind, especially suited for families and couples. We loved our stay here, would definitely stay here again, and recommend the property to others. Happy to answer any questions about the property or about the region
Review 36:Bring tire-chains for your car if its snowy conditions!
Review 37:Excellent service and the host family did everything to make us feel at home. Very cozy and clean, typical Austrian atmosphere and good food. Thank you for five wonderful days!
Review 38:Absolutly nothing.
Review 39:the best location in the valley on the southern side of the Grossglockner - wide open and sunny, with a great view across the valley from the terrace and our bedroom balcony. It is a very friendly, family run hotel. We were the only English ,but made to feel very welcome.Hanni is a great hostess. We had booked for 2 nights and immediatly decided to stay for 3, which is all that our schedule allowed, but we would like to return.A very good breakfast buffet, and good quality evening meals which were almost larger than we could cope with.We drove over the pass to get there and enjoyed the drive so much that we drove over again on our return
Review 40:Wifi gradient was too low to operate our tablets.
Review 41:Everything was very good, silence, beautiful landscape, friendly owners, delicious breakfast, fantastic view from the balcony.
Review 42:Nothing. We are looking forward to coming back to stay again.
Review 43:Beautiful location overlooking surrounding Alps & valley below; yetaway from hustle bustle of tourists & traffic. Very clean &interior/exterior design excellent. Great place to stay a few dayswhile visiting Grossglockner area. The solarium/sauna area is large& wonderful - use is free of charge. Be sure to eat your eveningmeals here; as the food is great. Meals served family style where allguests show up around same time for same meal.
Review 44:The owners are very helpfull and warm, the room we stayed in was good: pretty, comfortable and very clean. Excellent view. Possibility to buy dinner menu for 9€.
Review 45:There are different rooms, but the double we've got was quite small - not problem for one or two nights, though
Review 46:Coziness, friendliness of staff, peaceful location, sauna, good functioning Wi-Fi in the room
Review 47:Sorry we couldn't stay longer!

Review 49:We enjoyed staying in one of the 3 apartments which had a well-equipped kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the mountains. The hostess was very friendly and recommended us the sights in Hohetauren National Park. We would recommend Sagritzerwirt to our friends visiting the region.
Review 50:Friendly staff in this family owned Gasthouse, clean rooms, nearness ofskiing facilities in Heiligenblut (8km) and Lienz(ca 25km), 1.100 m altitude-in winter time you'll need snow chains or 4x4, good value for money tip
