Reviews for Hôtel Le Suffren
Review 1:Our stayed was marred by a horrible receptionist who totally ignored our concerns with no wifi and charged us for full breakfast when we only had continental. Have tried to follow this up but the hotel just ignores our requests. Most arrogant attitude.
Review 2:Good location
Review 3:no shower curtains in bathroom so it was just like a swimming pool
Review 4:perfect location with a beautiful view. top restaurants with amazing food within walking distance
Review 5:It needed a shower curtain as water went all over bathroom floor.
Review 6:Great staff ! Location, décor, clean. Spot on location. Coffee, water and fruit juice available anytime and in with the price (free) !
Review 7:Nothing at all
Review 8:Staff made us very welcome-our room was spotless with our own little courtyard where breakfast was served. The whole experience was wonderful.
Review 9:My Partner and I stayed here on our wedding night following our wedding in Port Grimaud church. the staff were so helpful especially Celine who went beyond the call of duty to arrange a boat trip for our wedding party after the ceremony. the location is second to none. It was all wonderful and couldn't fault a thing.
Review 10:Room cleaning was a little slap-dash. 1. I used a small bottle of whisky from the mini bar but this wasn't reported to reception, nor was the bottle replaced. 2. We started off with 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels. However, after the first day one of the hand towels was removed and not replaced.
Review 11:The reception staff were just marvellous, very friendly and helpful.
Review 12:We loved the position: in the middle of a bustling port of Port Grimaud, and the room looked out over a canal, restaurants and boats. We had a little balcony and were offered the possibility of having breakfast on it, which was lovely. The staff were very friendly too.
Review 13:Well, I'm a right grumpy old git (48 years old) but we loved it. It's a pricey place in general (Port Grimaud that is) but with million pound yachts harboured up all over and a beautiful canal system that is enclosed with security guards at the main exits it's gonna be expensive isn't it. The hotel cannot be faulted at all though..... well worth it.
Review 14:Hotel is very clean. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Reception staff very friendly, very helpful and very polite. They spoke English very well, advised on places to eat/visit, helped us with our rubbish French, gave us a secure place for our bikes..... absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. We had room with balcony overlooking the main square which we loved and there are rooms with balconies overlooking the canals/yachts which looked great. It's right in the middle of Port Grimaud which is like a miniature Venice. No tea making facilities in room but there is free coffee/cold drinks always available in reception area which was great. The breakfast was typical continental i.e. croissant, tea/coffee, juice, bread, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt etc and was beautifully presented with a lovely view of canal/boats etc outside. I recommend breakfast because although not dirt cheap, it's the best value breakfast in the Port Grimaud area cos it's an expensive place. Air con in room great, also a stocked fridge that we used for our own beer/wine. We're not used to this level of location/accommodation/service and it was more expensive than our budget but it was well worth it, it was a steal when you factor in all the positives.
Review 15:There was nothing we didn't like; honestly, everything was just lovely.
Review 16:What an incredible place. The hotel is situated right in the centre of things so although there is no restaurant, you have a whole street of eateries right outside the door. The team there couldn't have been more helpful and everything in the room was perfectly presented; it was a joy to stay and we wished we had booked for longer.
Review 17:The only thing we missed, probably because of different culture and habits, was a shower curtain over the bathtub. That way you can enjoy the morning shower even better and don't need to worry that the water goes all over .-)
Review 18:The Hotel is situated on a very nice and quiet place. You can really sleep well and recover from stress, as we did. The staff at the reception is always there paying attention that you feel like being home. Good Nespresso Coffee and always very crispy and fresh bread and croissants in the morning. Very helpful indications for good restaurants around Port Grimaud. Sight seeing: Make sure that you take the small ferry to visit also Saint Tropez, so you can avoid to be stuck in traffic with your own car. We'll come back for sure .-)
Review 19:No Tea / Coffee services available in rooms .. Coffee Machine in reception availible after 10.30pm .... Bigger bathrooms... Possibility of shower curtain, so floor area doesn't get soaked !
Review 20:Friendliness & courtesy of all staff...Location of hotel, within Port Grimaud...Easy access to hotel/ complimentary parking ....Breakfast availability... Flexibility with Check In / Out times .... Rooms overlooking Canal/ Water ...
Review 21:Relaxed family atmosphere Easy access to dining, shopping, ferries Very comfortable and clean room Lovely decor Very thorough and helpful and informative staff.
Review 22:Excellent location on the central market place, near to the beach Renovated and very comfortable rooms and facilities Very quiet Boats to St Tropez
Review 23:We had a room on the ground floor and the curtains did not close well at the sides. People walking by could look through the narrow opening.
Review 24:Nice hotel in Centre Port Grimaud. Good beds, clean room, nice staff, good breakfast, very happy to have spent several days at le Suffren.
Review 25:The area outside the hotel is a little touristy. Preferred walking around St Tropez. It was a little tricky getting to the hotel with a rental car, having to drop and bags and park out in a lot outside of the restricted area. But it is a nice trade off once you are there and there are no cars on the roads--pedestrian only. Beach is just ok.
Review 26:Loved the hospitality of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the location on the water. This hotel is a good value. Great restaurants a short walk away.
Review 27:Breakfast was too simple
Review 28:Close to St. Tropez, and beaches

Review 67:The staff, location only yards from boats for St. Tropez etc.Plenty of restaurants close by and beach only a few minutes walk.Excellent 3 night stay. For longer the beach hotel with pool looked good. Lovely staff.
Review 68:Nothing.
Review 69:Perfect location, restaurants and cafes nearby. Very romantic and quiet, perfect for relaxation. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast, even though not perfectly organised. Free parking nearby. Gave us a room with sea view at no extra cost, even though we only stayed for one night .
Review 70:The ground floor rooms are a little noisey as they back directly onto a public right of way. Breakfast was also expensive but otherwise a nice stay.
Review 71:Staff are brilliant!
Review 72:Perfect place for staying near St. Tropez. You have boats that take you to the downtown so you don't need to get the road. The hotel is extremely beautiful, in front of the sea. The bed was really confortable and the bath tub perfect. I want to come back soon.
Review 73:Looked at the breakfast but not worth the money to get it there.
Review 74:Great location, walk out and you're in an awesome place. Out of your windows, see the canals, the boats, the water, people walking around, etc... Free parking was available.
Review 75:Quantity and quality of breakfast not inviting.
Review 76:We liked the location, the peaceful surrounds. Lusanne at front desk is friendly, efficient, and the best we have encountered on our trip.
Review 77:Lovely hotel in the centre of Port Grimaud with views of the canals. Nicely appointed room with very friendly staff. A short walk to the beach. Cafes and restaurants right outside
Review 78:The room was quite small and there was not a lot of space for our two suitcases.
Review 79:The staff were very personal and helpful. The hotel is very well presented and there was a good breakfast. The location is good for the beaches and the beautiful views of the port. We will return to this hotel.
Review 80:The first day we arrived I saw big kitchen bugs on the floor just near our door. I asked the cleaning lady if they normally have bugs, but she started looking for the spray and cleaning them after they were dead and she did not reply anything. The next morning, around 6 am I heard lots of noise so I woke up and went to see that was happening - we were located on the ground floor. When I opened the door I saw again two big kitchen bugs. I was very upset so I asked the cleaning lady who was making all that noise and what is happening that there are so many big kitchen bugs (and they were big -me and my husband were considering asking for our money back and trying to find another location). The cleaning lady as well as the receptionist lady who joined in the meantime started excusing themselves, explaining me that they need to open all the windows and doors (which opened towards the canal) and this is why there was some noise. Some noise? There had been lots of noise, too much for 6 o`clock am when one is in holiday...And regarding the bugs, the receptionist said that this situation was due to the proximity to the canal and that normally they see one or two bugs during one full month and they are very sorry that I have seen so many in just two days...I tried to be calm and respectful and I told the receptionist that they should do correct cleaning and call for a specialized service for these situations before tourists come if they know they have had such situations in the past because I have not payed to see bugs, nor to be awakened at 6 am in my holiday. Later that day she gave us a room on the 1st floor, stating that it is also more expensive but due to the situation we will not be charged extra. Also when I asked for coffee - for which I told her to put the cost on our room - the receptionist gave us free coffee every day for the rest of our stay (3 days) as a `courtesy` .
Review 81:I liked the location, it was amazing, close to the canal, and you could just see the water and the boats from the bed. The stuff was also nice and helpful. There are boats going to St Tropez every half hour.
Review 82:Lovely accomadation,Excellent location,Good selection of restaurants to choose from, Ideal base to travel out from, lovely beaches close by or along coast line either way, Very accomodating staff, Lovely breakfast.
Review 83:Its better value to eat breakfast in the numerous local cafes and restaurants rather than the hotel. No complaints.
Review 84:This hotel is perfectly loacted in port grimaud and a 5 min walk to the sandy beach. Free parking available.
Review 85:If we can give a suggestion: it is better if there is a repair to make shower since water went everywhere in the bathroom.
Review 86:We like very much the position, the colour used in all the hotel is really perfect for the place, the kindness of the staff and what we can say: every things.
Review 87:Lack of powerful hairdryer in room No tea making facilities Small room No iron in room
Review 88:The staff were very friendly and accommodating when we needed things e.g. an umbrella, use of an iron and a powerful hairdryer. Great location Great views of port/market square
Review 89:The shower: splatted all over the place into bathroom. Breakfast was meagre for the money asked for it.
Review 90:The location was great. Room was fine. all looked clean and fresh
Review 91:The buffet breakfast was quite basic.
Review 92:Amazing location, right in the middle of Port Grimaud. Lovely staff and beautiful room. Fair price for such a great hotel.
Review 93:Understandably, though still irritating is no parking at the hotel for guests. We arrived on a motorbike, but would have appreciated just being allowed to off load our luggage, then park off the complex in the public car park. - not the hotels fault though.
Review 94:The staff were brilliant from our arrival to our departure, Louisiana in particular. Feeling of private luxury, an exclusive feel to it. Great location to explore, great local restaurants with a fabulous local market in the market square on Sundays.
Review 95:This hotel is a very good choice in St-Tropez region. Nothing tocriticize.
Review 96:We have chosen Hôtel Le Suffren in Port Grimaud due to the lowavailability and high prices of St-Tropez hotels (we were looking forhotels 2 weeks before the trip). After all was an amazingly positivesurprise. Port Grimaud itself worth a visit due to the “Venetian like”channels, boats, bridges and restaurants. We used Port Grimaud as baseto explore St-Tropez Region. Hotel was recently renewed, rooms aremodern, clean and comfortable. There is an elevator and breakfast isvery good. Staff is very friendly and available to answer all questionsabout the region. Parking is free. You need to take a card in thereception to park your car close to the entrance of the “Port” (200m farfrom the hotel). St-Tropez is easily reached by car (7 km, 20 minutes).Ste-Maxime, for example, is 15Km far from St-Tropez by car.
Review 97:We had one of the ground floor rooms, so wi-fi wasn't available.
Review 98:Great friendly service, well equipped room, excellent location, good value for money, excellent free car parking.
Review 99:The part that the hotel was divided into "hotel" and "studio"s was notvery clear for us from the explaination and images of the room.Still therooms were efficient... If your main wish is visiting St tropez, I wouldsay that port grimaud is not 10 minutes away as it was written.Let it beyour last option if you dont find any room in st tropez. Luckily it wasa very nice place so we did not regret staying at port grimaud...
Review 100:The location of the hotel was very nice. Actually I was not expectingsuch a cute place
Review 101:The rooms with a balcony on the front site of the hotel are reccomendable. We changed our room from the back-site of the hotel to the front site of the hotel and that was the small amount of extra money worth. Very good breakfast.
Review 102:No fridge in room but a small mini bar.
Review 103:Hotel is in an excellent location for the St Tropez area without all the craziness of being in St Tropez. The rooms were basic but clean and the furniture of a good standard. It is a great place to stay if all you want is a base, somewhere to sleep, shower and change between being out and about.
Review 104:the location of the hotel is great-you are in the middle of the small city which is like small Venice and you are just 30 min boat-ride from sain tropez.the hotel aswell the rooms are small but have everything you need and it is clean.
Review 105:Double room is too small.
Review 106:The location is unique with the canal view, and very easy to go tothe beach. The reception girl is helping. All the equipment in theroom is good.
Review 107:Great location, a place to relax but not far away from the cafe's, bars, great shops. Very clean, air con, park your car foc in car park just ashort walk away, nothing is that far away. From the hotel the beach isjust a short walk very safe beach for children. The sea taxi runs fromthe canal at the side of the hotel which was 25 mins to St Tropezanother great day out.
Review 108:Fantastic location, really nice accommodation,Lovely breakfast and very attentive staff who make you feel welcome-Will definitely use this hotel again-Faultless!!! Many thanks
Review 109:Check what bed you have in the room.
Review 110:The hotel location is excellent for local cafes and only a ferry trip to Saint Tropez. Great view if you have a room overlooking the marina.
