Reviews for Hôtel de Brienne
Review 1:No Restaurant, Bath without doors in the entire facility so when you take a bath the entire bathroom is immerse in water also because the soapy water didn't went down the drain properly, no additional services (i.e. Pool).
Review 2:Cleaness
Review 3:it was bit of a walk to the capitol, about 10 mins which is not so bad but if you wanted to go to pubs then add another 10 to 15 mins . overall for the price is was a very nice hotel
Review 4:quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Free car parking,I didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on it.but the breakfast room looked bright and clean.
Review 5:No criticism of a great hotel.
Review 6:Pierre, the front desk person was extremely helpful & generous with his time. The hotel's car park at no extra cost was a real bonus for us. It was only a short walk to centre of town.
Review 7:The furnishings are old and need updating. There is a definite need for more thorough cleaning. The toilet was smelly and the floor not clean. The car park is minute and all but impossible to park a large car without assistance. It is quite a way on foot from the centre of the city. Certainly not 4 star.
Review 8:The staff were friendly and helpful with all requests.
Review 9:Always a delightful stay at the Brienne: small family run, friendly professional staff who are always ready to help with anything. Good value for money and convenient location close to Toulouse Business School and the metro Compans.
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:Caroline at reception was just Wonderful! She made us welcome and spoke very good English! Other staff were also very nice and helpful as well. Very clean, spacious room! Would love to return to this hotel!
Review 12:The breakfast is not included in the price.... I pay for the room 125Euros. And after this i should pay 6 euros for an express breakfast!? This is not serious guys!
Review 13:Clean, confortable. A nic place with nice staff, very polite and they help us every time we request this.
Review 14:Electric bulb has broked. Bed side switch of room light was broken, too. Last night, extra towells has not installed after room making.
Review 15:It locates near airport bus stop.
Review 16:The location is not as good as they say, being a good 20 minute walk from the center and i didn't feel safe walking back to the hotel late at night. But close to an airport bus station and metro. I also dislike internet services where you have to log in each time..
Review 17:The room is a bit small, but ok for a business trip. Air conditioning was great. Breakfast was good with a selection of several items, liked they offered lactose free milk. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 18:parking included - but due to size it can be a good option only for small cars;
Review 19:very friendly staff; good location; like the possibility of choosing different breakfast options; parking included;
Review 20:Excelent rooms not big but comfortable beds ten minutes from city center but free parking . Great choice if riding a car , if not there are many choices near everything but no parking
Review 21:Nothing.
Review 22:Nice room, good shower. Nice patio area behind the reception area where you could sit, read a book or enjoy a drink. Parking free and secure under the hotel.
Review 23:Sound isolation of my room was not the best. I could easily hear the noises coming from the corridor or from the other rooms. It was a bit annoying to login to the WiFi network again and again as the internet connection was terminated due to (short periods of) inactivity.
Review 24:Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Hôtel de Brienne. From the first moment, the staff has been very helpful. The room was pretty comfortable and tidy. The hotel is very close to the city center, to Garonne, and to the airport shuttle bus stop. The speed of WiFi connection is satisfactory. There is a small couch and a working desk for the ones who have to work from the hotel room.
Review 25:The staff was really helpful, e.g. helping in finding around in an unknown city. They spoke very good english despite being in France, which is less unusual in the south in my opinion, but still noteworthy because of the high level of language faculty.
Review 26:The mattress was a bit hard for my taste. The WiFi was a bit temperamental.
Review 27:Great location: 5 minutes away from airport shuttle station, 20 minute walk to city center and close to the river. Nicely decorated hotel, rooms and bathrooms. My room facing the back side of the hotel was quite and dark, as requested. Room service was great. Parking place was free of charge.
Review 28:none
Review 29:Everything, basicly. The hotel is very well located . Parking facilities are good. Rooms are renovated in a very comfi modern style. Staff; very welcoming and helpfull. Will come again
Review 30:The hotel is situated on a busy boulevard, with constant traffic noise. The double glazing was ineffective, and badly installed. The mortar was falling out between wall & window. J'ai maldormi à cause de bruit. Chambre 102
Review 31:The continental breakfast was not the best and used my own tea bags as the ones on offer didn't taste great!
Review 32:Apart from previous comment this is a good place to stay. Staff very helpful and room always very clean. Easy walking distance to old town and river areas. Would use again if I ever need to stay in Toulouse.
Review 33:We were not told that the Air Conditoners were broken on check in, or offered an alternate room. On complaining at 6 pm that there was no coolness in room and the fan had now stopped. "oh, they said ,they broken!" been broken all day, technician only fixed 1. so spent an incredibly uncomfortable night, heatwave and menopause and jet lag= not a happy camper! :-( If i had known on check in, i would of asked to be moved to another hotel if no other rooms were available.
Review 34:after complaining in the morning re bad night and no AC, and lack of information on the problem they having on check in, and allowing me me to make my own decision. They eventually gave me discount for the room. :-)
Review 35:great location, away from the center, but easy to get to from the river or the center, privet parking, very nice modern rooms, very good and helpfull staf, great velue
Review 36:Expensive breakfast. Have to restart the access to wi-fi every several hours.
Review 37:Free parking. Quite place. Modern and comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Nice location. Kind staff.
Review 38:No Bad Experiences.
Review 39:Great customer service, very friendly and helpful. Free secured parking. Clean and spacious rooms compared to other places we stayed.
Review 40:The room was so tiny that I had difficulties with walking from the bed to the bathroom. Besides a window was very small that I could hardly see the sunlight. Even in the morning with full sun outside and 25C degrees I had to switch on the light in the room.
Review 41:The room was clean and facilities quite new.
Review 42:Excellent friendly, multi lingual staff Quirky boutique hotel Free onsite parking Excellent wifi Tea and coffee facilities Close to canal, beautiful for walking to city centre Supermarket and launderette within 50 metres ( great when you are on a road trip) Bus stop to city close by. Close to many bars and restaurants. Fridge in rooms Large fluffy white towels
Review 43:We didn't dislike anything
Review 44:Friendly staff, great facilities, comfortable room, good location for access to Peripherique and the centre. Excellent restaurant within 100 metres if you don't eat at hotel.
Review 45:Location. Room as expected - comfortable, clean and quiet. Parking is not a problem for small vehicles. We parked outside, still secure, for our large vehicle and it was fine.
Review 46:The underground parking is very tight, wouldn't have fancied parking anything much bigger than our rental Fiesta.
Review 47:Extremely friendly staff, very comfortable room, excellent bathroom, although glass section into the bedroom could be interesting for twin rooms! Flexible breakfast options of very good quality. Handy location for a couple of restaurants and access to the student quarter
Review 48:Location close to both the center city and the exit of Toulouse, so in just in the middle of everything and you can move either by foot or by bus to everywhere.
Review 49:"Quick breakfast" was not fantastic: I am sure that one can find better croissant and bread in Toulouse
Review 50:Nice rooms recently re-decorated Very comfortable bed Location is OK: you can walk to Place du Capitole in 15-20 min Great service
Review 51:My only comment here was the room in the car park. I am glad my car was only a standard saloon size as manoeuvring out of the spaces and between the later parked cars through the underground garage in the early morning was.... to say the least, extremely tight! But it was free and nothing was scraped.
Review 52:Good friendly staff at check in. The room was small for a twin but was more than adequate for what we required as we only dropped off bags, went out to eat then back to sleep and left first thing. Very clean and modern looking. Only 5-10 minute walk from the centre.
Review 53:Nice rooms, clean, peaceful, spacious enough. Location is great and ifyou need any candy or water or anything that you cannot get at thehotel, there's a nice Carrefour shop twenty metres from the hoteland it's open late. OTherwise it has been a very comfortable stay.
Review 54:For a four star hotel rooms with bath tub would be welcome. Also more bars/hooks on walls to hang items. Most hotels think a couple just travels with one suitcase. A small space is ok if efficient. Pleasant decorations do not do the job. Toilet facility separate from bathroom but had no ventilation.
Review 55:We arrived by car - trouble free no cost parking. Facilities good with a few exceptions. Staff gave good prompt service. All very clean and pleasant looking.
Review 56:The breakfast buffet was a disgrace. The warm 'dishes' were steamed and running with moisture; the cold cuts (cheese and ham) were dried out and curling at the edges.
Review 57:The hotel is adjacent to the river and not far from shops and the town centre. The garage is a positive point, but, as others have mentioned, very tight to get into and to turn. The room was quite small but it was quiet and comfortable.
Review 58:The pillows were uncomfortable and I had to log onto the wifi 15 times a day
Review 59:We liked that the staff were nice and helpful and spoke English. The in room service was quick and delicious.
Review 60:Urrrmmmmmm! The hairdryer could have been a bit more powerful (this is what my partner said, anyway!)
Review 61:Pretty much liked the lot; room, breakfast, staff, location & price! All were excellent
Review 62:This is at best a medium 3-star hotel. The location is not that convenient. We are not sure why it is rated 4-stars and 8.4 by Bookings. The rooms are dingy and not well appointed as one would expect of a 4-star hotel and the amenities it should offer. Service can be a challenge: it took for example over 45 minutes to get an extra towel after calling 2 times in the late afternoon. We booked this hotel based on the 8.4 Bookings.com rating which is not quite what we found. This is an overpriced hotel for the type of room you get.
Review 63:free parking, but not necessarily spacious spots or easy to maneuver.
Review 64:Rien, nothing. Price is right also.
Review 65:The room is small but so efficient. They had a refrigerator, coffee/tea,nice closet, good lighting, comfortable bed, good linens, products, lovely bathroom (small but again with everything you need). The room was very clean, the bathroom had a magnifying mirror, extra lights, rain shower. Who cares if you can see partially the shower. Parking though tight is FREE. Desk staff, nice, helpful. One person questioned neighborhood but is was fine, with a small Monopris a couple of doors down, absolutely safe and a nice walk to town. We totally loved this hotel and also Toulouse. Book it, you will not be sorry. Sherry
Review 66:airconditioning was not good or I could not make it work well although I did not get a staff member to check it out. Fan was a bit noisy. I would have like a bath but as I guess I was getting it at a fairly cheap price I guess beggars cant be choosers.
Review 67:pretty good location quiet street.
Review 68:Staff were helpful, however a greater knowledge of what was available to visitors. We had to visit the Tourist Office to get this. The hotel is possibly better suited to business clientele than tourists.
Review 69:Good location for walking along canal. Easy to get to town centre. Several restaurants in the area within a very short walk from hotel.
Review 70:Staff should advise on breakfast express and other options at least ! I was not aware of that due to my busy schedule and found out about it only on the very last day !
Review 71:The hotel is located in a quiet, safe and scenic area next to the canal. There are two very nice places to eat and a conveniently located supermarket right next door to the hotel. It's my second time staying there and I would definitely stay again only suggestion is that the staff should advise about the breakfast options at least !
Review 72:Not many english chanels on tv and the staff on reception told us that the french restaurant on the corner was authentic but wasn't so avoid
Review 73:The location and the standard of the hotel is great comfy bed and shower was strong and big
Review 74:Very nice boutique hotel and friendly staff. Twenty min. walking distance to Centre-ville or drive to airport! Five min. walk for dinner at Bistrot Le Chevillard on our last evening, was wonderful.
Review 75:I was very pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, clean rooms, good beds and overall styling of the hotel. All in all a very nice hotel, with a very good value for money, that I would recommend to anyone.
Review 76:Reception staff somewhat impersonal/indifferent. No evening restaurant available.
Review 77:Conveniently placed for visiting city and fortunately near to restaurants
Review 78:Stylish hotel within easy walking distance from the town centre. Bike friendly as bikes were stored securely in private underground car park. Bikes needed to be secured to a large concrete pillar. Good wifi signal in room
Review 79:Very 'sec' welcome at the desk, not extremely warm. Very small room
Review 80:Room was quiet on the backside of the building. 'Express breakfast was good enough to get you through the morning. Service in breakfast room was friendly. Materials in room were new and modern. Excellent shower.
Review 81:Very helpful staff. Perfect location to stroll into the centre, passing lots of bars and cafes. The car park was a real bonus. The room was quiet, very clean and comfortable.
Review 82:The staff at reception were very helpful, we had a fleeting visit made better buy his suggestions. the parking spaces were great and handy in the city - the rooms are very good.
Review 83:The location was in a seedy part of Toulouse. One teabag per person in the room is mean minded. They charged me twice for the room and I was only reimbursed after several days, phone calls and a very unhelpful attitude from the hotel
Review 84:Strange glass walled bathroom. Room quite small with not much storage. Location a bit off-centre.
Review 85:Option for a simple but adequate breakfast for low price. Modern and stylish. Comfortable.
Review 86:the hotel was very clean, quiet with nice modern decor, parking provided under the Hotel, a lift to the rooms. for 6 euro's a nicely served continental breakfast the staff were exceptionally professional and helpful this made our stay very comfortable. We highly recommend Hotel de Brienne
Review 87:- Ants in the room. - Impossible to take a shower without having the bathroom under water - Parking space yes but only accessible for smaller cars
Review 88:- Nice and well equiped modern room - Located in the centre of Toulouse with many restaurants around
Review 89:The bathroom was separated by a glass screen although frosted in the mid section there wasn't much privacy as I was travelling with my niece felt a bit uncomfortable
Review 90:Clean modern hotel all mod cons etc
Review 91:Would have liked more windows. Curtains suggested windows where they weren't. Space was tight.
Review 92:Location Shower nice and nice having separate toilet. I review need another category of traveller. I was with my brother
Review 93:modern decor took "a bit of getting used to" though probably a good choice for business clientele. Room may have been a bit cramped for meal in room service for two, but ok for one. We didn't avail of this option anyway.
Review 94:Free parking and within easy walking distance of town centre. pleasant path along the canal for running or walking. Helpful staff. Loved the shower.Immaculately clean. Only had express breakfast so cannot comment on buffet but express was adequate, especially when suffering from end of holiday waistline.
Review 95:The air-conditioning may need a overhaul. It should cool better than it does.
Review 96:very well designed hotel, good use of space and very comfortable. Very close to all amenities: shops, restaurants, banks, metro, etc.. not too far to walk to the centre. Great private parking, very helpful and professional staff, it's unlikely I'll stay anywhere else whenever I visit Toulouse
Review 97:You may find it somewhat inconvenient to get to the city center. The breakfast is expesive!
Review 98:Very good buffet breakfast, nice staff, great terrace in the inner garden. It is very close to the canal where you can jog.
Review 99:Woken very early each morning (about 5:30am) by some of the cleaning staff noisily removing equipment from a cupboard near our room. Also a fire alarm went off early one morning but there was confusion about whether we should evacuate, with staff not making any announcements.
Review 100:A nice, clean, modern hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly, including giving good directions on how to get to the city center. Secure parking was also very good.
Review 101:Semi-see through toilet door and a shower without screen
Review 102:The staffs were very help in recommending restaurants, direction, booking taxi etc. Rooms are very modern and chic Cleaniness
Review 103:We stayed twice - once for two nights, then for one night to be close to the airport at the end of our holiday. Toulouse is a lovely city; the hotel was in a nice area, within easy walking distance of all the attractions. Breakfast excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 104:Underground carpark - park spaces to small and exit ramp a trap for catching the rear wheel arch and damaging your car.
Review 105:Location and breakfast (extra cost and a bit expensive but it was raining so we didn't want to walk the streets looking for a bar/resto.
Review 106:It was all good.
Review 107:The facilities were convenient, modern, and comfortable. The parking was free and convenient, not as scary to get through the garage as I expected it would be. It was a 15 minute walk to the center of things, but I like being a bit out of the chaos.
Review 108:They came in to clean our room when we had hung the do not disturb sign on the door.
Review 109:Rooms are small, but designed efficiently to maximize the space. They have free parking and wifi, and the location is ideal for walking or biking around the main areas of Toulouse. The staff was helpful and overall it was a good experience staying at Hotel De Brienne.
Review 110:The hotel corridor smelled of sewage everyday
Review 111:Extremely friendly staff. The owner is lovely and very hospitable. We had bought a bottle of wine from outside and they were more than happy for us to drink it in the lobby lounge/bar where the TV was. Great location, close to the city only 15min walk. Free on site parking. Supermarket and laundromat 50m away was extrenely useful for us on our month Euro holdiay. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very comfy room. Great foyer/lobby
Review 112:Nothing!
Review 113:We were greeted well by Gregory in perfect English, he was very helpful like all the staff. Breakfast was excellent and of good quality. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay, in fact, we will be booking up for the trip home. Highly reccomended.
Review 114:I had chosen this hotel because of the private parking. In this private parking an hotel employee damaged my car by recklessly opening a heating door and scratching the side of my car. The lack of management respons to this event and therefore no compensation refrain me of recommending this hotel...
Review 115:I wish we had eaten in the hotel restaurant. The one down the street that they referred us to was not welcoming to tourists.
Review 116:It is easy to get to from the highway and the staff was helpful in giving directions to a pharmacy and a bank. The canal is nearby and gives you a good place to walk or jog.
Review 117:The parking lot is small, Nothing more.
Review 118:Good location, good facility, warm room. Good attitude of the reception.
Review 119:Nothing really
Review 120:Location, modern rooms, free private car park.
Review 121:The design of the room
Review 122:Close to bus and Metro. Quiet area. Excellent staff. Very helpful in every query.
Review 123:The hotel was very funkily decorated, the staff were friendly, it was clean and the breakfast was delicious.
Review 124:Nice decor and private terrace
Review 125:Very very small room with a big chair Only fit for one person really
Review 126:Hotel has been refurbished but far from 4*
Review 127:Hotel was very accomodating to our needs as cycle tourists.
