Reviews for CGH Résidences & Spas Le Chalet des Dolines

Review 1:As it was our first time in Montgenèvre and in Chalet des Dolines, we would say it was more things to improve as opposed to things we "did not like". 1- Staff at reception was not very well trained. When asking questions we felt the young ladies were a bit unsure and sometimes disorganised (most likely due to lack of training). 2 - The briefing we got at the start could be shortened and the inventory list could be sent in advance of arrival (by email) so that you would be aware of what was already available in the kitchen and what you needed to bring with you. 3- Space allocated for 4 people in the appartment is very small. We were only 2 adults so it was ok. But it would be difficult to see 4 adults in 30 sqare meters. Unless you know them very well. Ideally 2 adults with 2 small children. 4- There are a few things missing in the kitchen: for instance napkins (that should be part of the linen provided), a decent chopping board, table mats... 5- Also if you wish to cook something beyond basics, there is a definite lack of work top (even when you are on holidays, it is a bit limited in that respect). The design of the kitchenette could have been improved. 6 - The welcome aperitif was a truly nice idea, but it turned out to be more a marketing exercise in order to present the newly developed property (part of the same chain as the Dolines). We got the same speach we heard at the briefing, nothing new really and the presentation of the drinks and nibbles (very basic) could match with the high class standard that the residence pretends to aim at. 7 - Spa was lovely but there should be a small basin dedicated to kids so that it is possible to swim in the lovely pool. When we were there, there were a few very loud people which definitely disrupted the peace and serenity of the spa...and they were not told to be quiet...pity. 8 - We found that Montgenèvre itself could do with some good restaurants. The choice is very poor indeed if you wish to eat out.

Review 2:Location was good as you could ski in/out provided there is enough snow to do so. Ski lockers were very spacious and practical. The spa provided good relaxation after a day out skiing. Several great slopes are available and very accessible even if you are not the best skier. If you are looking for good high altitude restaurants, the Italian side is without a doubt the best. The French side only offers 2 restaurants and they are not great.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:quality and comfort of the apartment facilities and kitchen equipment Comfortable beds 2 loo's this year for 5 people, better! excellent access to first lift heated boot room/ski cupboard pool, sauna/steam and spa

Review 5:everything was 1st class!

Review 6:Apartment, staff friendly and very helpful, Location, Spa, and pool communal area with open fire

Review 7:Spa was beautifully decorated but overrun by kids at all times (even upto 8pm close - often with kids running round in feral gangs unsupervised from pool to jacuzzi to steam room/sauna and back round again!). They need to have adult only periods.

Review 8:Staff were excellent and very helpful when toaster blew fuses in apartment. Great ski in/ out location and close to shop, ski hire and restaurants. Apartment was great.

Review 9:It would be nice to know that we needed our own toilet paper and shampoo as well as the need to clean the apartment ourselves at the time of booking and not at the end of the stay. Will not stay there again.

Review 10:The staff was friendly. Location was convenient and not far from the slopes

Review 11:Being charged a full week for parking when we left a day early - acceptable for the apartment but for the garage?Very limited food preparation area, when more could easily have been fitted in. Balcony windows were draughty. No usable instructions for using key appliances (e.g. the oven had over-simplified diagrams and a very few words on the top edge of the door; we needed a manual!). Value for money just did not quite match the price.

Review 12:A smart-looking apartment with adequate space and comfort overall, a good TV and a nice outlook. Very good and well-heated ski lockers.

Review 13:Only one toilet for six people was 'inconvenient' - there was probably space in the master bedroom for a second WC.

Review 14:The apartment was very good. Six people used it and it served us well. It was well equipped and we were able to self cater easily. The spa facilities were very good. Staff looked after us well even though we were not able to check in until 5pm. We had arrive before lunch following and early flight. Access to the skiing was excellent ski in ski out 50mtrs to the first lift!

Review 15:Only small critisisms, but the seperate toilet did not have a sink to wash hands. Also could have done with some instructions for operating the super modern Hob and some of the other appliances

Review 16:Apartment was furnished to a high standard with modern appliances including a dish washer and excellent coffee maker. Bathroom was exelent with bath and good shower. Location was excellent, right next to the slopes and ski lift.

Review 17:The road outside and up to the hotel was not cleared or treated in the heavy snow so we and others had a lot of problem getting our hire car up to the hotel.

Review 18:location fabulous for our young family. Loved not having to get a bus to the slopes. I will come back next year for sure!

Review 19:You have to pay extra changing towels, bed linen and bath robes for the spa. Eur8 a piece so it comes up to quite a lot...

Review 20:Excellent location exactly on the slopes and very practical close to kids ski school and supermarket.

Review 21:WiFi connection was very slow and inconsistent with the possibility of connecting only one device at the time.

Review 22:Friendly and efficient staff and good facilities for the money we have spent.

Review 23:One toilet in two bedroom apartments, it is strange and not normal, I think. In other things everything was great!

Review 24:Can't think of a thing

Review 25:Access to pistes. Quiet. Not a single cause to complain during our week. We love skiing in/from Montgenevre.

Review 26:Nothing!

Review 27:Fantastic location, on piste. Beautiful apartments. So well sound proofed, it was like we were the only people in the building.
