Reviews for Luib Hotel

Review 1:No bad experiences.

Review 2:Overall experience was very easy going. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Nelly or James. They made us feel like part of the family on Christmas day.Beautiful Glencoe and Glen etive within easy reach of this hotel and well worth a visit. Happy memories.

Review 3:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 4:We have stayed just one night, but if we could we would stay definitely longer. Staff was extremely and honestly friendly. They treated our dog as they own. Food was excellent - would highly recommend Chicken Stroganov to anyone. Also our room was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 5:The internet connection was a bit patchy!

Review 6:A very comfortable inn with an open fire, bundles of character and cosy rooms. The bar is stocked with a fantastic selection of whiskies, which is great if - like me - you're travelling solo, so can't drink your way through the distilleries, but would still like to sample some of Scotland's finest while there! The location is ideal - scenic and not too far from the motorways for anyone visiting from England. It's in just the right spot to see all the attractions in the Trossachs and the Highlands without having to drive too far. The hosts are very friendly and make sure their guests are well-fed and looked after. I recommend the full breakfast! A great start to a long day of hiking!

Review 7:Both poorly with nasty cold/flu virus...Nelly and James very helpful. We had meals in our room...excellent food. They were both very accommodating

Review 12:The window outside our room leaked due to the incessant rain, this was quickly remedied with a mixing bowl from the kitchen to catch the drips :)

Review 13:Very quirky hotel with a wonderfully quirky and friendly proprietor: James, who was very helpful and welcoming (and plied us with whisky). Handy location next to the A85, will definitely stay again if passing.

Review 14:Hosts were excellent at all times even helping us to plan touring routes for site seeing. Try the home made scotch broth its the best I have tasted along with the steak that melts in your mouth.

Review 15:The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm, the communal bar/restaurant/lounge area was cosy. The food was good quality and the rooms clean and comfortable.

Review 16:We loved the informal style of the whole place and the excellent hospitality from Nelly and James. We ate there every evening as the food and bonhomie was just so good.

Review 17:Nelly and James were excellent , giving advice on trips and together with the fantastic atmosphere over a single malt we enjoyed our week and look forward to returning

Review 18:James and Nellie are great hosts, very friendly and nice to chat to. Great food from Nellie, just what we needed at the end of a long day. Extensive choice of single malts. Good location and great value.

Review 19:Once again James and Nellie were the perfect hosts. Their plans for the refurbishment are well underway and all the bathrooms have been upgraded. Great food.

Review 20:Absolutely in the middle of nowhere, beautiful surroundings and a very warm welcome. This place has history and a very Scottish feeling of remoteness. The owner and family were very welcoming and helpful. The food was really good and super breakfast before we continued on our cycle journey

Review 35:This may not look much from the road but stop and give this a try. The rooms are old fashioned but that means they're spacious and we had great views. The bed was very comfy and there was plenty storage with a modern vanity unit and plenty of sockets. Fantastic modern spacious bathroom with powerful hot shower. Loved it. The bar was cosy with books and games with a lovely fire which is apparently lit on colder nights. We had a lovely meal there and in the morning decided we'd be back on one of those colder nights to sit in front of the lovely fire. James and Nelly were very nice too

Review 36:James was there to welcome us as we arrived and we settled quickly into our spotlessly clean room. That evening we enjoyed a meal from a varied menu, cooked by Nelly and served attentively by our host. Our surroundings had much to offer in terms of scenery and walking.Breakfast made a good start to the day too.

Review 37:If I could find any fault which is difficult I would have liked some fruit and maybe yogurt at breakfast. Would not be a problem for one night but for four we could have used some fruit!

Review 38:James and Nellie were excellent hosts and looked after every need! Glen Dochart is stunningly beautiful, gentle and the town of Killin is very nice too. Location on a main road gave us concerns on arrival but we had no road noise at any time. Just a lovely view of the mountains behind. Food is cooked from scratch by Nellie from the menu. Big Scottish breakfasts too!
