Reviews for B&B - Villa Coste d'Or
Review 1:The bed and pillows very softso just uncomfortable for me, however I have a dodgy neck, others may find this great.
Review 2:Stunning view looking over Grasse and the ocean. Very big room with balcony. Martina went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Very good breakfast . Lovely BnB.
Review 3:It was a bit difficult to find the address though we had a car with GPS
Review 4:The kind welcome of the guest house owner. A beautifull view of Grasse from our room.
Review 5:The access road is steep, winding, one car wide and two way traffic - be sure to arrive in daylight hours. A little too far to the centre of Grasse to leave the car behind as a matter of course.
Review 6:The owner, the breakfast, the very Provencal ambience, the view (!!!)
Review 7:Not much to do Grasse. It was a long walk to town. There was an ongoing smell of fresh cigarette smoke. The mattress was ver old and sagged and not good for ones back.
Review 8:Parking was convenient, pool was a nice welcome on an extremely hot 2 days. Mobile A/C unit was not advertised but mandatory to be comfortable.
Review 9:As many have mentioned, the walk to town is hilly on the way back (15-20 mins) but totally manageable even after a delicious 3 course dinner at La Voute in town :)
Review 10:Oh my, the view!! Oh, and the breakfast! This beautiful B&B is perched on a hill in Grasse overlooking the C'ote D'azur beyond. If the view from this house doesn't inspire you then I don't know what will. Martine was the most welcoming of hosts and prepared us the most spectacular breakfast feast. Even though we were the only people staying we were lavished with rounds of cheese, fresh and dried fruits, yoghurts, fresh pastires, breads, eggs en cocotte, preserves, nuts, and more! As a gay couple we felt entirely welcomed. Grasse itself is quiet - the Histoire du Musée International de la Parfumerie was by far the best show in town. Fragonard Musee is more like a glorified shop.
Review 11:A 20 minute walk from town and quite a fewsteps, but still fine and doable for most people.
Review 12:Breakfast Hosts The atmosphere The grounds The peace and quiet
Review 13:The view from the room to the city is so lovely. The owner of the villa or the host is just amazing. She is just more then wonderful in welcoming us. She gave us a very warm welcome after the long drive and showed us around and gave us some information about the area and the villa. She made a very nice breakfast for all of us. It taste so nice as well as many items from the breakfast is made by herslf from her huge garden. During our departure she helped us a lot. Its worth to have a stop there before heading on. Will stay here again on our next visit.
Review 14:It might be difficult to find without a good satnav. Even with one, we drove past because it looks just like any other house from the road.
Review 15:This is a lovely villa set on a steep slope with views over Grasse towards the sea. It is a home and you really feel that you are guests in their home. It doesn't feel like a business. It is quiet and peaceful, but still only 15 minute walk from town. There are four rooms and any one of them would be delightful, but if you want to do a lot of cooking, you should probably ask for the suite of the top floor, which has a separate kitchen. We spent most afternoons down by the pool.
Review 16:The room had no air conditioning, and we were really hot in the night, even in late August. The hotel is on a very long steep hill, so sometimes the thought of walking back to the hotel after a nice dinner in Grasse was a bit daunting.
Review 17:We loved the view from our private terrace. The family were really warm and welcoming and served a lovely breakfast for us. They also offered to allow us to use the phone if we needed. Gay couples welcomed.
Review 18:Pierre and Martine are kind, generous people who run a fabulous B&B with superb views and delicious breakfasts. We will always appreciate having met them. - Doug and Heidi
Review 19:Nothing.
Review 20:Very helpful and friendly hosts! On our check - out day, the owner provided us with yummy breakfast very early in the morning including amazing home-made jams and drove us to the station. it's a beautiful house looking over the whole town. Short walk to the city centre. It was a lucky find.
Review 21:Everything! Martina was charming, always happy to help with great tips on the area. Loved the views. Loved the area.
Review 22:Beautiful view , beautiful villa!! Perfect get away in the middle of a very busy area.
Review 23:Location and breakfast both excellent. Room with a view was worth the little extra. Appreciated a the dip in the pool after some very long flights.
Review 24:Toilet a bit cramped
Review 25:Balcony view, quirky house, large room, great breakfast and welcoming hostess.
Review 26:need to be fit to walk into Grasse for evening meal.
Review 27:very friendly, good facilities. and quite lovely to sit in garden and read. Lovely breakfast.
Review 28:We had no car and it would have been helpful to be advised that this property is not ideal for this, especially in November. Taxis are unreliable and buses irregular. We managed to walk all the way back home on the last night! We had a problem at the beginning of our stay as we had no hot water. First thing next day, our hostess contacted an electrician. We had hot (enough) water by the end of the afternoon
Review 29:We loved the architecture of the house and the many artefacts within. It rained on the first day but the next day we had beautiful views to the coast. The garden looked perfect for swimming and hiding in the shade in summer. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 30:Soft bed and hard pillow - why do French like square ones, they areawful! Shower room could have been cleaner
Review 31:Great views and location, good sized room, good continental breakfast, veryfriendly and helpful owner. Good price considering hotel costs on Coted"Azur
Review 32:traffic started 6:30 am and if windows open (which will be the case in the summer) - noisy.
Review 33:hosts pay attention to detail (room cleaned every day, bed made) plus very good/fresh nearly contitnental (in terms of quantity and versatility) breakfast. Lovely garden, real Provence (smells, sun, view).
Review 34:No air conditioning - too hot to sleep without windows open and we were eaten alive by mosquitos. Breakfast could have a little more variety.
Review 35:The beautiful views, lovely pool area, large comfy room with great pillows and superb view from French window. Lovely hostess.
Review 36:The hotel is located in the hills surrounding the town. Without a car it was inconvenient getting to places. The bus system isn't reliable enough either.
Review 37:It's a family-run hotel. The staff there was extremely nice. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station because we didn't have a car. The view of the city from our room was magnificent.
Review 38:We loved the views from the balcony, the luxurious beds with their beautiful embroidered Provencal sheets, it was a beautiful place and so quiet! It is our favourite place to stay so far in Italy or in France! Pierre and his wife are extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again and recommend them very highly.
Review 39:No glasses in the room and some shampoo would have been good

Review 44:It was a very friendly environment--a beautiful table was waiting for useach morning for b'fast
Review 45:It is not very easy to find, make sure you have a detailed location mapbefore you go, it does not always work on gps.
