Reviews for Hotel Calle Mayor
Review 1:parking is not exactly next door, about 400 meters down the street, and very small places if you have a bigger car.
Review 2:modern design, comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast, silence although very near to down town city centre.
Review 3:What a gem in the heart of Logrono! We stayed at Calle Mayor for one night as a base for exploring Rioja wineries. At night, it is very close to all of the pintxos bars. The staff was very friendly, and we were able to park our rental car in a garage (for a fee) conveniently located down the street. They also have an excellent breakfast!
Review 4:There were a couple of maintenance issues that needed tending to.
Review 5:It was one of the best hotel experiences we've had in Europe - ever. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, large room and nicely designed. The shower was wonderful.
Review 6:after checking out, i realized that i left my phone's charger behind. called them and they found it and sent it to me. outstanding staff and facilities.
Review 7:The staff are extremely concerned with the comfort of the guests. When we mentioned our disappointment with the inconsistency of the wifi the manager discounted our parking fees and gave us a lovely bottle of Crianza. We thought the breakfast was very nice, yoghurt, cereals, toast, pastries, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, and Spanish omelette.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Everything! Location is fabulous as within two minutes you are in the middle of Old Town urrounded by restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shops - in fact everything you could want and need
Review 10:Not a fault of the hotel, I guess. But there was a holiday celebration at night with revelers keeping us up till almost 4 in the morning. Way too noisy for a requested "Quiet" room.
Review 11:Location fit the camino was nice.
Review 12:a calm atmosphere, good character with an excellent mix of old and new décor. all the staff were friendly and helpful. would recommend hotel calle mayor to anyone. if we return to la riocha this is where we'll be staying!
Review 13:Nothing to dislike!
Review 14:Convenient location in the old town. Comfortable bed & excellent shower. Secure parking was a short distance along the street. Breakfast was very reasonably priced and beautifully presented.
Review 15:Some outside noise on the Friday night but that's the pirce you pay for a very central location.
Review 16:Breakfast was one of the best on our 2 week San Sebastion-Rioja-Bilbao road trip.
Review 17:We didn't have a reserved parking space through the hotel and our 1st encounter with a parking garage did not go well! With so many 1-ways and round-a-bouts, it wasn't easy to drive to the recommended lot or to find our way back. The hotel did allow us to check in and leave our bags in the entryway off a pedestrian alley.
Review 18:Nice, welcoming staff with good recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Very nice self serve breakfast- a variety of choices. Close walking distance to the heart of old town and tapas places.
Review 19:The very serious detailed explanation as to how the coffee machine worked, just make us a cup instead please.
Review 20:Great friendly staff, secure parking and a divine breakfast.
Review 21:The pictures do not do this hotel justice. The entryway and the rooms in the hotel are very nice, clean, modern, and up to date. This hotel appears to have been recently renovated. The service is very friendly and speaks English well. The location is perfect as it is easily within walking distance to the tapas bars on Calle Laurel. This was a great find and we were very pleasantly surprised that the hotel turned out to be even much nicer than we had anticipated. It was raining the evening that we stayed there and they even had umbrellas by the door for us to use. Parking is a short walk down the street from the entrance to the hotel.
Review 22:The superior twin room we booked was spacious, well designed and very comfortable. The staff were very knowledgeable about the area and even helped us book a trip to a local winery. Very pleasant stay.
Review 23:Didn't like the pillows not soft enough.
Review 24:Beautiful breakfast , wonderful surroundings , expertly renovated and the most friendliest of staff. Brilliant experience. Thank you.
Review 25:We had a room at the street side. The noise of people at a nearby bar/dancing disturbed our sleep. Ask for a room at the back, if any
Review 26:Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern room.
Review 27:The drain in the shower was too slow for the water pressure of the lovely shower. My travel companion was concerned about flooding the bathroom.
Review 28:Really liked the location and the decor
Review 29:nothing
Review 30:Staff very friendly and helpful Excellent location, near to everything but in a quiet area Great shower, Immaculately clean, comfortable bed good air-conditioning excellent breakfast
Review 31:It's hard to fault this Hotel so I won't. The staff were so helpful and the bedrooms are superb for a three star Hotel. We will definitely come back.
Review 32:Given the great reviews, boutique hotel, and cost I expected more attention to detail. Two of our towels had holes in them and were frayed, no toilet paper in room (we had to ask for it), and internet didn't work all the time.
Review 33:Clean, small, great decor and facility. Breakfast was limited but just right for us.
Review 34:Nothing - a perfect hotel experience.
Review 35:One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Understated, calm, welcoming, comforting and a great location. I had a very early departure time (5am) and breakfast was especially prepared for me, enough said.
Review 36:Everything worked so well...the shower had great pressure, and the bed was very comfortable...you seldom get both ! The room was spotlessly clean...the breakfast was amazing....best place in our three weeks in Spain !
Review 37:There isn't anything to dislike
Review 38:Everything, the staff, location, parking, service, food. This hotel looks like it has just been re-furbished, the fact that it was done three years ago demonstrates the care the staff put into looking after this hotel!
Review 39:This hotel was perfect in every way possible. I would've stayed here a week if I could. Loved the city and this hotel was the perfect place to stay.
Review 40:We loved our stay in Logrono, particularly because of our wonderful accommodation. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the women at Reception and the Maitre D at Breakfast.
Review 41:It was unseasonably warm the day we arrived and our room was very warm. When I requested the air conditioning turned on, I was informed the hotel had shut it off for the season. The only option was to open a window which did not provide much air flow as it overlooked an enclosed courtyard where people were smoking below.
Review 42:The service in this small boutique hotel is excellent. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Rooms are smaller, however wardrobe space and bathrooms are roomy. Beds and linens are comfortable and in good repair. Bathroom is supplied with quality products. Location is within walking distance from both tapas routes as well as Francos Espanolas- the famous bodega in town. Breakfast is plentiful and also of good quality.
Review 43:Our hire car had a GPS and found the hotel without issue. Some may find its location in a quiet side street a little hard to find, but that is part of its charm.
Review 44:Logrono is a great little wine town and Hotel Calle Mayor is a gem of a discovery. The hotel's location is ideal for food and wine travellers, with a very good choice of bars and restaurants situated within a few minutes' walk. The quality of the hotel's facilities and services is excellent; the staff very professional but also especially welcoming and very friendly. A boutique hotel with barely a dozen rooms, virtually a home away from home. Highly recommended. We would love to return some day.
Review 45:We had to leave after only one night
Review 46:Arrived very early, no room yet available, we were served coffee and waited for aquarter. Very good breakfast and breakfast service
Review 47:Nothing really. If I had to say something, would be the parking: it is not in the hotel, but 100 meters down the road... however, you can unload and check in without problems before parking.
Review 48:Everything. The location (5 min. walk to the bars but not noisy), the room, the bed, the atmosphere of the hotel, the bathroom, the breakfast, the kindness of the staff, the great price. It was an excellent stay and I recommend to anyone!
Review 49:Hotel Calle Mayor is a perfect little hotel. The staff are charming, the rooms are big and comfortable, the location is excellent. We were a big family group of 9 ranging in age from 5 to 70 and we all loved it!!!
Review 50:Very nice Hotel. Some problems with The electronic key but the staff did every thing they could do to help us ( Even a free bootle of rioja as a compensation)
Review 51:Nothing comes to mind.
Review 52:The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are large and well fitted with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The hotel staff was gracious and very helpful with directions and suggestions for sightseeing and dinning. I will stay there again when I return to Logroño.
Review 53:Dont let the outside view fool you , this Boutique Hotel is excellent. Welcoming staff , location, parking , rooms , breakfast all first class . My wife lost a tooth filling the day before we arrived ....not good when you are just starting a holiday."Montse" ( i hope i spelt this right) the owner, rang her Dentist and booked us in the same day, came with us and translated .......Great service .Thank you very MUCH....This hotel is great for Aussie 'Pilgrims' who want a bit of Luxury in between towns.Highly Recommend at stay ..
Review 54:I thought the pillows were a bit too large for comfort. That's my only negative comment. Everything else was great and good.
Review 55:We really liked the Hotel Calle Mayor. Staff was particularly helpful and knowledgeable, room comfortable and clean, neighborhood historic and interesting, breakfast good too. What's not to like? Perfecto. 10 out of 10. Thanks for a great time and base to explore La Rioja region, which rocks!
Review 56:Superb personal service, very spacious rooms, great bathroom. Family run and they obviously take great pride in pleasing their guests. Great breakfast (included in reasonable price).
Review 57:It was all great especially considering the price
Review 58:This hotel was a fantastic find. It has the feel of a boutique hotel with some really good design and attention to detail. The location is great as it is close to the many tapas bars in the town. Breakfast and staff also great.
Review 59:Our room felt slightly closed in since its window looked out onto an enclosed inner courtyard and the tarrif is high by comparison with Spanish norms, but with the curtains open I could see the floodlit spire of the cathedral from bed. Wonderful!
Review 60:A spacious, clean room with a great shower. The hotel is steps from the nightlife yet very quiet. The staff are delightful and very eager to help in any way.
Review 61:We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and it was quite noisy at 04:00 am when the local clubs closed.
Review 62:Easy to find with good parking. Short walk to many bars and restaurants. Fabulous walk in shower. Excellent breakfast with attention to detail. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Review 63:Stayed here for 3 days and loved it. It's a really nice hotel. Very modern and clean and staff are very welcoming and all nearly all spoke good English. We got great tips on bodegas to visit and things to do in town and they had a lot of time for us. Room was lovely. Comfy bed. Mini fridge in room with free water. Bathroom is great, Shower big enough for 3 people and really strong and hot. Breakfast lovely too and everything is fresh. Underground secure parking available per night for 13.50 but great option if have car with you, book in advance though as they only have 6 spaces. Look no further than this place if considering a trip to logrono. Great little town and hotel is really well located. Great experience.
Review 64:Limited breakfast, some of the pastries and cakes seemed dry and hard. Location was ok but street was a little tired.
Review 65:Secure parking and old building central location
Review 66:Good location, though didn't have spectacular views, it was near everything we wanted to see. Rooms very spacious and good facilities, bathroom excellent. Wifi a bit patchy in the room. The best breakfast of our holiday and helpful staff.
Review 67:Great breakfast, large comfortable room.
Review 68:It needs a bit of maintenance
Review 69:It was convenient, close to Bilbao airport
Review 70:Great renovation of old building
Review 71:Close to the Camino. Staff helpful; spoke English well. Lovely breakfast buffet.
Review 72:This is an extremely well-run hotel where everything was perfect for this weary traveler.
Review 73:Excellence and quality of every aspect. Nearness to centre. Personal service at breakfast.
Review 74:Pillows hard
Review 75:Location. Staff. Breakfast.
Review 76:Noise from above walking on pacquet flooring was the only downside
Review 77:Location Beds and the space
