Reviews for Le Grand Balcon Hotel

Review 1:had to go back to have the key re-done which was irritating

Review 2:very friendly and helpful staff, loved the details in the room eg the nespresso machine, the plane in the bathroom - loved the bathroom towels!

Review 3:breakfast was very expensive, I had forgotten it wasn't included and wish I hadn't! The first room I was shown was very very dark, the staff were helpful in finding me a lighter room which was lovely

Review 4:Lovely room, great location, would stay again

Review 5:No parking at the hotel. Be prepared to part with 50€ plus for 2 days parking in Place Capitole.

Review 6:Extremely comfortable bed in a very well provisioned room. Location could not have been more central.

Review 7:We were on the 1st floor, (actually 2nd floor of hotel), on the street side and it was extremely noisy until about 5 am. Definitely request a room higher up that in not located near the corner of the main square. Tolouse is an active city that bustles into the wee hours!

Review 8:This hotel has a prime location near lots of dining establishments and good shopping with extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Review 9:The room was kind of small. The bathroom was just the same and its washing basin was awfully tiny not to mention inconvenient. We stayed in a room which had a second washing basin standing next to the bed which was kind of awkward not to mention just tasteless & useless.

Review 10:Location was excellent and a few meters from Capitol Square. Staff were amazingly helpful with direction to attractions. Breakfast was basic but good. We had a good stay.

Review 11:Easy walking distance from centre of town, close to stop for the airport bus, lots of nice bars and restaurants just around the corner. The reception staff were very helpful, printing out boarding passes and making restaurant reservations for us when needed.

Review 12:No parking other than public and not even a discount offered for that (bearing in my you have no choice). No one at the bar in early evening to allow us to have a pre dinner drink (despite reception being manned at the time).

Review 13:Comfy bed, excellent wifi and courteous staff.

Review 14:It is true what others write. The room was very, very noisy. During the whole night you hear people on the street talking, cars, cleaning etc. So loud that it really disturbs you night rest. For a hotel of this standard you expect noise-protected windows.

Review 15:Design

Review 16:Parking! This hotel is pointed in the search on the booking.com as ahotel with patrking. But in fact no parling at all. They mean a publicparkibg where I paid for less than 21 hours... 26 euros!!! In my opinionit's too expensive. And this hotel can't be suitable fortravellers with a car.

Review 17:Very cosy room. Very clean and fresh decoration.

Review 18:Little noisy street, no kittel,no tea in the room,no side tables for things to keep it was .difecult to find the way to the hotel

Review 19:Modern furniture,good clean,nice toilet

Review 20:Good location near main square (Capitole). Very stylish lobby. Very good service, also in English. Good-looking room. Air-conditioning working without keycard. Good free wifi. Delicious breakfast!

Review 21:Shower in bath tub; dangerously slippy floor! Big parking cave (Capitole) 100 m, a bit tricky driving there, no valet service.

Review 22:The window/doors don't open more than about 4 inches, I would have liked open them fully, I assume this is for safety reasons or if you have young children etc.

Review 23:Great location, our suite had a great view on to the main square 'Place du Capitol' The room was cleaned every day & all staff very very friendly, we would love to come back in the future ........

Review 24:Excessive noise at night. Narrow streets amplify the voices from below. Shouting and partying through to the morning on every night of our stay. Hotel really requires double glazing. sleep was very disturbed.

Review 25:Good location. Comfortable room and beds.

Review 26:Finding the hotel even with Sat Nav was a nightmare . Information on my Booking.com reservation stating that public parking is euro 19.00 per day is wrong, charge is euro 26.00 per day.

Review 27:Staff & location of hotel.

Review 28:Our room was very dark and overlooked an inner courtyard without much light.

Review 29:Great location for sightseeing, rooms were clean and bed is large and comfortable.

Review 30:Quite a lot of street noise in the early hours of the morning

Review 31:Excellent location. Clean, comfortable room, finished to a high standard. A little quirky but in a good way. Had everything we needed. Would stay again.

Review 32:Lack of gym (you'd expect one at this price), too modern rooms (on the design side, but does not feel cozy enough), poor bed (too soft and lacks support), and very noisy (Toulouse is a young city, so students can be very noisy)

Review 33:Location is great, next to the main square

Review 34:As we stayed in the hotel over a weekend the students made a lot of noise in the street which lasted untill 5 o'clock the Saturday morning. It did not trouble me that much, but most people will find this annoying.

Review 35:The modern interior tastefully done. Wifi the best I have ever experienced. Excellent location near Le Capitole Square. Bed and linen very good quality. Breakfast excellent. The cleanliness of the hotel was perfect. Soundproof - cannot hear your neighbours.

Review 36:Lovely massive bed, we got served breakfast in bed and it was really quiet (we were on one of the top floors) lovely location really close to everything you will need and great staff.

Review 37:The Taxi service in the Hotel is poor. After booking the Taxi the night before I waited for half an hour to take the taxi in the morning. The taxi driver explained that the Hotel has bad reputation due to refusal of clients to take the taxi which had been already booked.

Review 38:Central location meant you got the noise of the rubbish collection in the morning on one day, but very minor thing you might get anywhere.

Review 39:The staff were very friendly, location was excellent (very central), room had a coffee maker and complimentary soft drinks, plus all the other usual things. We didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on that. Nice to have the historical connection to St Expert.

Review 40:Nothing!

Review 41:Excellent, contemporary, boutique Hotel in fantastic central location! Lovely modern well equipped rooms. Free WiFi. Most welcoming, helpful & friendly staff! Would definitely return & recommend!

Review 42:Location, facilites, modernly, with taste refurbished rooms. Free wifi worked excellently. Benedictine and Mathieu at the reception/bar were incredible, very helpful and friendly. They made my stay!

Review 43:The room was quite noisy because of the location and we were only on first floor. Shower sprayed everywhere and no kettle just coffee maker but other than that a really lovely room and perfect location and we did enjoy our stay.

Review 44:Lovely clean room with everything we needed.

Review 45:A small point but being English I like my cup of tea in the morning so a kettle, teabags and milk in the bedroom would have been a bonus.

Review 46:The location was perfect, the room was very comfortably furnished, the bathroom was very well laid out with an excellent shower.

Review 47:Mattress inclined to dip inwards but not too troublesome. Roadworks posed problems with accessing parking in the square. Suggest parking in the street outside / near the hotel and seeking help and directions from staff.

Review 48:Marvellous staff who were very helpful in sorting out a couple of issues with returning our car to Blagnac. Great location one minute from main square.

Review 49:nothing

Review 50:the hotel is right in the middle of town,it has very nice and friendly staff, my room was very good, the hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean

Review 54:Central to everything including the beautiful Capitole square. Renovation is very tastefully done and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly

Review 55:Loved everything about this hotel. Stayed for four days with my best friend. Hotel is centrally located. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was light and airy with a fabulous shower. Beds really comfortable and very clean throughout. This was our girst visit to Toulouse, but certainly not our last. Beautiful city. Beautiful hotel and staff. Thank you.x

Review 56:Breakfast is 18 Euro / person. Too expensive. We ordered pasta for two as room service. They served it quick but there was a plastic piece of something in the pasta.

Review 57:Location is perfect, beds are really comfortable and clean..

Review 58:Rooms facing the street are very laud . The city parties on the streettill early it felt like I was sleeping on the sidewalk. Staff atbreakfast spoke no English. Wifi signal very poor .

Review 59:Modern , clean and a little but different

Review 60:No bedside table (to put morning tea on!). One bath control not working-had to fill bath thru shower head (but no problem). Nowhere to rest suitcase without using one of the two chairs,--plenty of room for a case stand

Review 61:Very convenient for center of town, good retaurants within walking distance, etc, very comfortable, pleasant staff, complimentary minibar with water, juice etc, good functional lift.Coffee maker but no kettle for tea.Would definitely go again

Review 62:Breakfast is a bit expensive, head out the door and find a croissant and coffee in one of the many cafés around.

Review 63:Have stayed here 3+ times and every time has been seamless, great rooms, views over rooftops (ask for higher floor), concierge very helpful with restaurant and other recommendations and easy parking in the Capitole a few 100m away

The Fine Print

Capitole public parking is more easily accessible on your way to the hotel through Place Wilson. If you are using a GPS, follow directions to Place Wilson, and then follow the signs to Place du Capitole and the parking. Please note that the parking is only 6 feet in height. If on your way, you come across an access point, you may ring the staff and inform them that you are a guest of Le Grand Balcon Hotel to be given access.
