Review 1：The matress needs to be changed.

Review 2：After a first misunderstanding the staff (especially Mr Dionisio) was very friendly and promptly solved the situation. The location is very good to walk to the city centre.

Review 3：Location of the hotel is close to the old city center. You can find many tapas restaurants and pubs. Staff is helpfull. Room size is good. They have private parking area.

The bacon looked boiledrather than roasted or fried. At the other hotels we has wonderfulfreshly squesed orange juice, here it was concentrate. The hotel wasalso very difficult to find, in a town of high blocks this was anotherone that was not clearly marked. If you are searching for it, it hashotel in big letters horizontally on the front of the building but onlyCarlton Rioja in small letters low down.

Review 31：Staff in the restaurant doesn't speak English and doesn't seem to be very helpful. Ordered goat's cheese on the menu, got tinned tuna which was not even on the menu. Main dish, not impressed. Poor restaurant. Room - first impression was good, but washing hands there is toothpaste on the mirror from previous guests. Shower and sink not cleaned properly. Looking at the ceiling from the bed, cobwebs just above the bed. The worst experience was that I had accident and spend 4 hours in emergency. When got back around 5 ish we were both very hungry and tired. Called reception for 24/7 room service as they advertise and menu is in my hands, and the response was that kitchen is closed! Send my partner to restaurant, kitchen is closed. He went in person to reception with room service menu, kitchen is closed. We couldn't get any food until 8.30 pm!!!shocking. So my partner try to go to shop, but because of bank holiday all shops were closed.

The staff were excellent - they made a special effort to give me breakfast early and made me a breakfast picnic to take with me on my last day when I had to leave very early. They went well out of their way to help me and make me feel comfortable. Thank you!

I was given absolutely no information re breakfast and dinner time or costs. I rang reception later to order room service. I was told to ring the kitchen (even though the menu said to ring reception ). I rang the kitchen and he said he had no english. I went down to reception then to order and he sent me up to d kitchen. The man there pointed to d sandwich on the menu and said that was all they had. I do not understand this as it was a Tuesday evening!

A shame to spoil the name of Carlton which is usually known as a great brand.

Review 61：The location was exceptional, right near everything and at the same time far enough to avoid the noise. The staff was very helpful and kind. They helped with our suitcases all the way to our room. The beds were comfortable. We did not try the breakfast because we found a nice place in a nearby plaza which was quite good for half the price.

Review 64：The terrace café and tyke lounge area has a lot of character. The proximity to the bus station. We arrived early in the morning after completing a leg of the camino, so it was too early to check in. The staff were none too friendly, however later on they were helpful with our luggage.
