Reviews for Domaine de la Mandoune
Review 1:We were disappointed in the location of the property as we had believed it to be a short distance from a beach and the town. It transpired that, although it is within easy walking distance of L' Etang de Thau, this is actually a lagoon which has no beach. The nearest beach is about 25 minutes by car and the town can be reached on foot if you are energetic but it is at least a 45 minute walk down a busy road, and even longer via the lanes. The grounds were a little unkempt. There was no welcome pack and the furnishings in the apartment were spartan. Surely, where a dishwasher is provided, it should not be too much trouble to provide a handful of dishwaster tablets to the guests, rather than expect them to buy a whole box only to use just a couple during their stay. The pool area is clean but is in a concrete compound that is rather uninviting. The bins for rubbish disposal are quite a distance from the accommodation and guests are expected to take their rubbish to those bins. There is no service whatsoever provided for the apartments. Basic bathroom towels are provided but these cannot be taken to the pool so you must take your own or buy whilst there.
Review 2:The buildings are beautiful, albeit a little poorly maintained in places.
Review 3:Apartment was small and up two flight of stairs. The second flight of stairs was very narrow and twisted and was quite a struggle for us to get our luggage up and down. The bedroom was very small and had one very small window high up that didn't let any light in as the shutters could not be fully opened - it made the bedroom cave-like. The atmosphere of the whole complex is strangely empty and unwelcoming. This was the most expensive accommodation of our trip by a long way but wasn't the most luxurious and was the least welcoming.
Review 4:Very clean compact newly refurbished apartment with roof terrace. Very quiet location.
Review 5:Our terrace could not be used because of the noise of full blowing battery of airco units. Wifi unworkable slow.
Review 6:Nice open spaced location with good facilitated appartments, pool and services. Friendly staff. Nearby Marseillan, nice village with lots of music and good restaurants.
Review 7:There has been a change of ownership. The staff did not seem to be on top of the situation. We were told about the pool opening times only to find out that there was no water in the pool. Very disappointed.
Review 8:The place is extraordinary. Lost in the countryside and very relaxing.
Review 9:Location was very difficult to find. The Hotel is behind a wheat filed, amongst vineyards off the main road. Signalling with the name of the place is not visible enough from the road and impossible to use the GPS as you get to the end of the main road.
Review 10:The surrounding grounds although not quite finished are very pleasant and peaceful with beautiful old trees and flower beds
Review 11:Swimming pool unheated and freezing, grounds very scruffy, no welcome pack in apartment, no oven just microwave, bad lighting, not good value for money, couldn't walk to coast as so badly overgrown.
Review 12:Location
Review 13:Still very new but service can be increased at for example pool area. Petty that there is no restaurant for dinner but good restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Review 14:Beautiful location. Wonderful ambience. Has class!
Review 15:trying to find it was not easy
Review 16:the pool was great and the room was pretty with good bathrooms
Review 17:Lovely location
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:Room layout, facilities. Eating mussels at la Cabane in the petit port
Review 20:Brand new, beautifully designed. They have tried to think of everything and have done a very good job of it. I would like to return in a few years once the plants have matured as I think it will be even better but it is well worth a visit now too.
