Reviews for Citotel Grand Hotel L'Etape
Review 1:This is not a bad experience, just an observation that it would have been the icing on the cake if the staff had been slightly less efficient and a little more 'chatty'.
Review 2:Food was AMAZING, and locally sourced, bed comfortable, bathroom quirky - décor was somewhat dated, but we loved it because of that. Curtains were designed to shut out the light, splendid lift - honestly, every comfort had been considered. Perfect half way stop from Dieppe to the South. We had a room at the back of the hotel and woke to the sound of cow bells clanking on the cows up on the hill - was charming!
Review 3:it's on the main road so rooms at the front can be a bit noisy. However the noise was completely blocked out by the double glazing.
Review 4:This is not a chain hotel so service was very attentive and unique. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly Mme Roux. The hotel was really clean and comfortable.
Review 5:We had no real problems except the underground car park is very tight for a large car, but we knew this from our previous visit
Review 6:Ideal situation for us on our journey to the South West corner of France. We had stayed here before and knew the rooms were excellent and the breakfast was good. Would recommend it as a stopover
Review 7:It was minor but we had thought there would be more parking
Review 8:It did what it said on the tin and although we were street side they had supplied ear plugs which worked perfectly!
Review 9:On a very noisy road. No air conditioning so on a very warm evening the window and shutters had to be opened to try and cool the small room and the road noise kept us awake until past 3 am.
Review 10:Conveniently placed in St Flour.
Review 11:Staff very friendly, breakfast very good and copious. Hotel is in lower part of the town, has some nice cafe's and some other restaurants. The hotels looks good but didn't try it. There is parking in a little car park and bikers can use garage, for a charge. Upper town has all the shops and a great market on Saturdays.
Review 12:- A bit pricey for the location, but the quality is there.
Review 13:- The hotel's restaurant is amazing. A tad pricey but with very good products. - Perfect staff, very professional. - Overall hotel in very good shape. - Quiet surroundings.

Review 24:The people, a Family Hotel at it's best
Review 25:The interior is dated but the hotel is clean and well presented
Review 26:Great hotel and staff. Very friendly. Food was very good using local ingredients. Great location to explore the area and walk up to the old down
Review 27:A bit old-fashioned deco, but that didn't bother us at all, in factit was rather sweet and very french. Don't be put off by the uglyexterior, the interior is well taken care of. Restaurant was pleasant.Mainly we were impressed by the staff, who seem to be all the samefamily and work very hard. They went out of their way to be helpful.Quick access to motorway from "La Ville haute". Safe streetparking, and also a hotel garage which I can't vouch for because Ididn't use it. St Flour is a lovely town, and we will be coming backto explore.
Review 28:Some of the public areas are in need of redecoration.
Review 29:Charming, rather old-fashioned hotel, with friendly, very helpful staff. Close to riverside walks, and some rooms have a view of the old town. The restaurant is excellent value, with food that showcases local specialities and uses produce from the hotel's own kitchen garden.
Review 30:Its a bit far to walk to the centre of the old town but parking was so easy it was not a problem to drive up.
Review 31:It is on the main road but if you have a room at the back as we did you can have a balcony and a very rural view of the hills behind the hotel.
Review 32:It was in the right place for a break in our journey to the south. It was comfortable with secure parking. Dinner was above average for this type of hotel. We would certainly stay there again.
Review 33:Convenient location for a stopover, easy to find from the motorway. A pre-bookable garage was very welcome. A very good restaurant and overall traditional feel.
Review 34:Only disappointment was the location - we had to drive to and from the medieval town centre (approx 30 mins walk up a steep hill !) but parking wasn't a problem either end so it wasn't a major issue.
Review 35:Room was clean, pleasant and well equipped. Bathroom surprisingly large with good sized bath. Staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't use hotel bar or restaurant but both seemed to be doing well.
Review 36:No shower curtain/screen over bath
