Reviews for La Bellaudiere

Review 1:Prescribed opening and closing times. Do not open until 4pm so if you arrive earlier you will not be let in (even 5 minutes!). Not overly welcoming. Limited evening meal menu, just one choice for each course.

Review 2:Good sized bathroom. Pleasant views over Grasse

Review 3:The photos offered are a complete misrepresentation. The "superior" room we booked was said to offer views of the garden and terrace. The garden was 90 degrees left and the "terrace" was the hotel entrance. Straight ahead was the retaining wall of a very busy corniche road against which the hotel is pressed. We paid 15 Euros extra to have a view away from the road. The sanitation was old-fashioned, lime-scaled and grubby. Breakfast was scruffy, thrown together and poor value. The vaunted restaurant was only available on pre-booking. Do the couple running the place really want to carry on?

Review 4:The view from the bedroom we eventually took at a surcharge. Good supply of hot water.

Review 5:The hotel is on a steep downhill exit from a busy main road (which our room was right next to) - so it is very difficult to get in and out safely - we had some very hairy moments! The rooms do not do justice to the rest of the hotel and feel quite shabby. There is no air con (there is a fan), and no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. Overall the hotel is fine, it did the job for us in providing a stop-over, but I would not recommend it for an enjoyable h

Review 6:The couple who own the hotel are lovely, and helpful (although they don't speak English so if this is an issue for you it may not be the best place). The communal areas in the hotel are lovely, and a good breakfast was provided for an extra charge.

Review 7:It's really a disaster. In the last years from China to Us andEurope, I used regularly booking.com. Seriously I do not believe thatbooking.com have to have this kind of hotels within the lists.

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:the walls are too thin, you can hear everything. from snoring neighbours to people using the bathroom. No way you can sleep there!

Review 10:free wireless internet nice terasse

Review 11:on the main road couldn't walk into Grasse town was to far. Room was quite small we had a road view

Review 12:Very traditional building

Review 13:Lovely setting with beautiful view. Very tasty dinner.

Review 14:Lovely decor, beautifully designed. Very helpful and friendly owners went the extra mile for us.

Review 15:The breakfast and the view.

Review 16:Location next to main road (but not a problem if you have a room on the other side facing the valley) Pokey bathroom

Review 17:Friendly, down-to-earth service Clean room Wonderful view (south facing rooms)

Review 18:Owner spoke NO English. Could not find because no exact address was provided on the booking. Not worth the money we paid. Out in nowhere.

Review 19:Very quaint

Review 20:The long haul up the stairs but WE had the large and heavy suitcases due to our international travel.

Review 21:Michel and Martine were wonderful hosts. We thoughoughly enjoyed our short time at the hotel. The dinner was delicious as well as very memorable with great repartie with Michel.

Review 22:The road is a busy road. I suggest paying the extra euros and getting a room that fully faces the lovely valley. We were facing the terrace, but it was a little loud. Otherwise, amazing beautiful place.

Review 23:Lovely spot really close to Grasse with wonderful views. Really cute house!

Review 24:We weren't aware that the hotel was right on the main road into Grasse. Our room was noisy when we had the window open {which we had to for air}. We were provided with a bath towel each and one small one between us. There was a 2 euro charge for extra towels -not acceptable. Dinner was 27 euros and the food was not fresh -obviously microwaved. Very poor value. The breakfast was standard French fare: croissant, french bread and coffee. The orange juice was watery and tasteless. The jam was provided in little catering packs -tasteless and low quality. No fruit at all at breakfast. Couldn't they just provide some fresh fruit? However, the coffee was fine.

Review 25:Having breakfast on the terrace, despite the fact that you could hear the main road. Wonderful view over hills.

Review 26:The proprietors are very friendly and helpful - but please note they don't speak English so be polite enough to use their language. We had half board which was superb. Madame Clerc is a former Lyonnais chef who produced wonderful dinners. The hotel is a few km. outside Grasse in a lovely location and is very relaxed. We recommend them very highly.
