Reviews for Marqués de Vallejo
Review 1:The hotel was very clean and comfortable. They had a nice sitting area downstairs where you can meet with friends over a glass of wine. The staff was very nice and helpful. Centrally located and still quiet at night.
Review 2:The smell. Old nasty and putrid. I would have left immediately to findsomething better if I had not already paid. The cleaners they used onlymade things much worse. Also staff did not know how to open window, norwere they helpful in finding laundry service.
Review 3:The location. The front desk staff spoke English. It is very unfortunatethat their expensive decor cannot be properly appreciated because oflack of care and upgrades in other departments.
Review 4:Actually locating the hotel by car was tricky. Google directions sent us driving down what was a pedestrian lane. Thankfully we didn't bowl anyone or anything. Some clear directions as to which lane a car should take (or not take) would help.
Review 5:We've stayed in a few Design Hotels and enjoyed them all, for comfort, good use of space and modern facilities. This one did not disappoint. We were travelling by car and were directed to a close, easily accessible park for overnight. A "welcome" glass of wine was appreciated.
Review 6:An upgrade is always a bonus and our room was great. Excellent breakfast, walking distance to old q and heart of the town. Welcome drink and tapas in groovy bar downstairs blues music. Good value hotel
Review 7:The general helpfulness of the staff and the handiness to the centre. The car parking is a little away but you expect that if you stay in old town locations and it worked finee
Review 8:Service was extremely bad. They proposed us a conventioned parking to discover the following day they had no more conventioned places available...25€ for one night!!! In addition they do not speak proper English so it was very difficult to communicate (we even ask to talk with the manager who was very rude and unpolite) Finally the breakfast was very poor and low quality
Review 9:Good position
Review 10:The wifi did not work at all. The front desk staff was rude. They were beyond unhelpful to the point of arrogance and rudeness. Any issue I brought to his attention he said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to management and he refused to connect me. I asked about his schedules, he said he could not help me. I asked about roaches to eat, he said he could not help me. He made me wait to be served while he fiddled with things behind the desk. I waited nearly five minutes for no reason.the front desk clerk made come ya to. Cleaning woman about me and they both laughed. It was quite uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms are small, air conditioning is poor and staff is rude.
Review 11:Ovation was decent. That is all.
Review 12:The beds are magnificent! They seem to have invested in proper mattresses: hard, comfortable, perfect sleep. The hotel is as central as it can be, all new with pleasant design. Among all staff, especially the older lady at the reception was sweet and helpful. They also offer a glass of wine - I must say it was quite a decent one! Highly recommendable for the price, which was no higher than an average price in the city.
Review 13:Very poor quality wifi. Seems like that would be an easy fix and would make a lot of people happy. Sometimes it worked in the library and lobby but not often and it did not work in our room.
Review 14:Great location right in the heart of the old town. Nice modern hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room and that was very nice and made a difference in our decision to stay an extra night. We faced the street but windows were soundproof so you couldn't hear any outside noise. Some of the standard rooms looked very small. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel but found good breakfast places on the main square only a block away. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Review 15:The breakfast menu could be improved.
Review 16:Great location, really warm welcome from friendly helpful staff and free welcome glass of wine was a lovely touch. My room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple and the only area where improvement could be made. Lovely memories, thank you .
Review 17:Parking is not ideal and you need to pay extra.
Review 18:Had one night here and perfect location for exploring Logrono. Room very comfortable, great shower. Not so easy to find if you have a car but parking is available for 10 euros a night in an underground car park near by. Also given a free glass of wine on arrival.
Review 19:Being able to walk out into central Logrono with its famous tapas bars and atmospheric square. The hotel is smart and modern inside, with a pleasant lounge area if you need to relax outside the room.
Review 20:The sound insulation on the door failed to dull the conversation of noisy revellers in the corridor.
Review 21:The decor is chic. The breakfast was extensive the staff very helpful. The location, one block from the cathedral and only a few from the boutiques is hard to top.
Review 22:We had a superior room, top floor at the side of the hotel with fantastic views of the cathedral spires. The downside of staying in this city centre hotel was the street noise at night went on until the early hours. Do pack ear plugs!!
Review 23:The staff were very helpful, superior room was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Fantastic shower. Hotel in great location for site seeing and feeling the ambience of the area. Great tip, don't pay for breakfast, have it in cafe next door for €2.40!
Review 24:I arrived injured and in a lot of pain. They provided ice, later help to direct me to an urgent care center. They mark location on map. The next morning made a call for me to make sure I had reservations at the next location I was going! Very compassionate and helpful!
Review 25:No parking, hotel in a very narrow street so stopping outside could and was problematic. Rooms small and no view
Review 26:Location, breakfast, wine tasting one evening
Review 27:Couldn't fault it.
Review 28:What a hidden gem! Having booked it on the hoof during a touring holiday, we weren't sure what to expect from the shabby chic exterior, but wow... Boutique hotel interior design. If you go, check out the bibliotheca (reading room). Super location too!
Review 29:I really liked this hotel and after visting two other hotels in Logrono on previous visits this was by far the best one. Quality to price was outstanding for me. Before booking I was a bit concerned about the noise from the street as descibed by some vistors about a year ago. The hotel is in the middle of the area with the best tapas/pintxos in town, which is attracting many people, and which is by the way my main reason to visit Logrono, which is one of my favourite cities in Spain. We were in a room facing the street and I think it was indeed completely renovated as the room was absolutely noise free. As described by Peter from Santpoort, the only small drawback is the parking fee, but you know that upfront by taking a hotel in the city center. There are many other parking garages which are a bit cheaper but this the 25 euro one is the closest.
Review 30:Beds quite hard. Breakfast had no fresh fruit
Review 31:Centrally located to Cathedral and pinxto bars. Front desk staff most helpful, recommended a good restaurant. Fridge in room, breakfast was good selection
Review 32:Can't think of anything.
Review 33:High-quality hotel, very good value for the price, located in the heart of the city close to the main sights. Not far from underground public parking.
Review 34:Having stayed there a year ago it is now in need of some refurbishment particularly in bathrooms & threadbare rugs could be replaced? Breakfast is expensive but lots os cafés in the area.
Review 35:Location is good, reasonable room price.
Review 36:The hotel is in the old town, just across the plaza santa maria. It is decorated in a modern style. The bar section is very beautiful. We asked for a room with a nice view and balcony and we are given it without extra price. The room was spacious. The coffee at the bar was very good and big in size and it was not more expensive than the ones in the cafeterias.
Review 37:The staff were charming and helpful. The situation was very good and it was a very enjoyable stay.
Review 38:Breakfast could be improved
Review 39:Location and friendly staff
Review 40:easy to find very central.
Review 41:Great location by Square and Cathedral
Review 42:The location is right in the centre of the town and close to the tapas scene. Our room was splendid.
Review 43:I loved the hotel. Great location. Very helpful and corteous staff.
Review 44:Rooms are new, staff great, location fantastic
Review 45:Great location, staff helpful & spoke some English.
Review 46:Friendly staff and good sized rooms.
Review 47:Great location, helpful staff
Review 48:Superb location for the fantastic pincho tapas bars and old part of city we will most definitely stay there again
Review 49:Very well located in the heart of the old town, nice and spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff
Review 50:Great hotel. Really nice room in old city.
Review 51:Located in center very near cathedral, free welcome drink
Review 52:towels smell like disenfectant
Review 53:Decent enough but the staff are useless
Review 54:Located in the center of all the action. Great welcome ticket for a free glass of wine. Totally enjoyable.
Review 55:Nothing!
Review 56:The check in process was smooth, the room was very clean with modern facilities.
Review 57:Wifi. See above. Also very poor soundproofing. Could hear everything, and I mean everything, in next room.
Review 58:Location great
Review 59:Great location, very friendly staff, generous sized room with v comfortable beds. We are planning a trip back.
Review 60:Minifridge overheated in cabinet; ventilate better
Review 61:Room size, bathroom, balcony view, staff assistance/ concierge services
Review 62:Rock hard bedding!!
Review 63:Location
Review 64:Parking station is a bit confusing
Review 65:Location to old town
Review 66:The staff is extremly helpful
Review 67:A tired interior in need of refurbishment.
Review 68:Excellent location, only seconds from bars and restaurants. Low cost accommodation.
Review 69:Noise from street - like everywhere in Spain ! !!!
Review 70:great location in the old town but very modern facilities . Walking distance from bus station . Complimentary glass of wine .
Review 71:We reserved unfortunatelly a non-refurbished room. The Windows had poor acoustic isolation and, due to the good location, the Street beneath had plenty of tapas restaurants so it was very noisy. The bathroom wasn't as much clean as expected and the cold tab made sometimes an unpleasant noise.
Review 72:The location of the Hotel is Excelent. The girl at reception was very kind.
Review 73:The shower was difficult for me to keep the water off the floor!
Review 74:I don't speak Spanish, but this was a personal trip with my husband to visit my adult daughter who lives in Logrono. The accommodations were fantastic and service was excellent. We loved everything about this hotel and would and did recommend it to others.
Review 75:It is right in the centre of Logroño, which is great for walking to dinner or tapas bars. Parking is no problem, the parking garage is at 50m and not expensive. Very friendly staff.
Review 76:Excellent location, staff and facilities. Bed and bathroom was comfortable. Located in the historic center of Logroño, close to restaurants and tapas bars however, there was no noise during the night. Staff was very helpful and provided useful recommendations. Would definitely stay again.
Review 77:Hotel was excelent. The room was very spacey, clean and comfortable. The best hotel that we have stayed in spain. The facilities was excellent and clean.
Review 78:Fantastic location and quite luxurious for the price. A much more comfortable bed and size of room than comparably priced hotels in Spain. Will absolutely stay here again!
Review 79:I had been walking the Camino and pulled up with an injury. The Marques de Vallejo was the perfect place to land: very comfortable, clean, fantastic location, and lovely staff. I would absolutely stay there again.
Review 80:The hotel was very comfortable and our room was upgraded which was terrific. I ad a back problem so the larger bed helped a lot. I left my cosmetics behind and when I called later, a lovely woman named Irma, was able to locate them and send them on to our hotel in Barcelona.
Review 81:bathroom very tiny fancy spa shower doesn't work very well water pressure or no sea world mini fridge in the room
Review 82:Couldn't ask for a better location! El Pilar is right in front of you!
Review 83:Nothing. Everything was great.
Review 84:Great location, excellent value for money. Amazing design, modern and clean. Great touch having a free glass of wine on arrival!
Review 85:No parking at hotel so cases have to be dragged from public parking nearby. Parking charges are paid at the hotel at a discounted rate.
Review 86:Good central position, clean comfortable rooms. Good buffet breakfast reasonably priced.
Review 87:Breakfast not so great
Review 88:Great hotel. Lovely rooms, all different. Great location just two minutes from Calle Laurel for the tapas trail and the old town.
Review 89:Although the hotel has an arrangement with nearby parking station, the cost of car park is quite high, but comparable to most other places.
Review 90:This hotel ticks all the boxes. You can drive right to the door (in a pedestrian area) to unload luggage. Staff are welcoming and helpful, providing umbrella and luggage storage for late checkout. The location in the centre of town near "eat streets" is spot on. Decor of hotel and rooms as well as lounge and breakfast area is novel and interesting. It is as good value for money as you can get.
Review 91:Difficult to locate on a GPS tom tom. Need to give other cross streets. Car parking is complicated. Set price from 8pm to 10am. Adjustment made on other sides in a general car park 2 blocks away.
Review 92:Intimate and quiet
Review 93:Absolutely nothing. Although Logrono is a bit out of the way.
Review 94:Location is outstanding. The staff fantastic. Comfort, grand.Highly recommend. If you do not like this hotel, you do not know what you want.
Review 95:The parking lot was a couple of blocks away, which was no problem. Ifyou park on a weekday, however, the rate covers only 8 pm to 10 am. Anyhours before or after that will cost you mucho.
Review 96:The location is perfect! Right next to the cathedral and the tapasstreets. We had a beautiful room overlooking the street, with a balcony. The room (407) was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was sofriendly, and I loved trying to speak my rudimentary Spanish with them.We used this hotel as a base to see the medieval towns and wineriesaround Logrono. It was perfect!
Review 97:Nothing. We always spoke pidgin Spanish, and the reception staff did not attempt to flip to English. Not sure if they were being polite (if so, thank you!), or if they don't have brilliant English themselves. Also the hotel must be near-impossible to reach by car. We parked the car first, and walked the last 200 metres (there are several car park options, some of them free).
Review 98:We stayed in Logroño twice in a week, the first time in another boutique 'designer' hotel (with higher Booking.com review scores), and I must say, for us, Marqués de Vallejo was better, as well as cheaper. Our room (301) was spacious, with a separate lounge area, and lovely modern bathroom. Excellent location and good breakfast.
Review 99:We have stayed here twice now and enjoyed the hotel both times. Perfectly placed for enjoying the wide range of Tapas restaurants in Logrono. Great breakfast.
Review 100:My room faced a very busy street, so with the noise from the street and the people in the room next to me, I did not get much sleep. Also, I had no wifi in my room, even though the hotel has free wifi.
Review 101:The location was great, and the free wine-tasting was a nice touch.
Review 102:Nothing.
Review 103:Location and staff.
Review 104:small rooms, but to be expected in a medieval city centre
Review 105:parking underground very near by, smart, modern, good food,
Review 106:No self serve laundary
Review 107:Staff and location of the hotel
Review 108:great location in the middle of the old town, nice modern hotel
Review 109:Great staff
Review 110:Loved the hotel and staff were very friendly. Great location.
Review 111:The beds were a bit too firm for me.
Review 112:The location was as good as it gets. The room was quite luxurious.
Review 113:nothing much
Review 114:location.
