Reviews for Hôtel de la Poste
Review 1:Worst. Wifi. Ever. Actually, the wifi was OK - their internet connection, however, was (no exaggeration) worse than dial-up.
Review 2:Great little hotel. Comfy and a good restaurant.
Review 3:The Hotel De La Poste is in an ideal location in the village of Valloire, close to the lifts and all the major facilities. The hotel itself is traditional and rustic with comfy rooms and great views of the surrounding mountains. The menu in the restaurant is varied and excellent. Try the Canard (Duck) in your choice of sauce, or the Gambas (King Prawns) in whiskey. But what really makes this place special is the people. This is a really friendly and welcoming family run hotel. Everyone working there were friendly and welcoming. Half way through our holiday we had a problem with our car. This could have potentially ruined our holiday and taken at least a couple of days to sort out, with our limited French. The nearest garage was at the bottom of the mountain. Odile and her husband Jean-Michel (les patrons) stepped in and offered to help. Odile got the parts needed and her husband fitted them, so we could continue to ski and not ruin our holiday. My wife and I really felt this was going well beyond the role of hoteliers. We are so grateful to Odile and Jean-Michel and recommend their hotel to anyone. Merci beaucoup!
Review 4:The hotel was in an excellent location for village centre and ski lift restraunt was very nice with good choice and quality a nice bar area for après ski drinks, bedrooms were very nicely decorated in local Savoyard design and staff were very friendly and willing to help would deffinately recommend
Review 5:WiFi didn't work. Pillows uncomfortable.
Review 6:Staff very welcoming. Garage to store bike. Flowers in window boxes stunning.
Review 7:Wifi was terrible
Review 8:Restaurant dinner was excellent
Review 9:Area, food
Review 10:Minor thing: the wifi works -although free- too complicated and reception was not good.
Review 11:Nice hotel, friendy staff, good beds, best shower ever, good breakfast, good value
Review 12:The poor wifi connectivity.
Review 13:The staff in the restaurant were particularly good. Only some of the reception staff spoke English. The wifi didn't work.
Review 14:The hotel is quite noisy, every time when someone is using the toilet, i good hear it. The same for using t.v.
Review 15:The room has everything to make it comfortable. The sanitair was allright.
Review 16:Sloowww WiFi. Absolutely dreadful.
Review 17:Hotel de la Poste's location, in a small village high in the FrenchAlps, is magnificent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Facilitieswere very acceptable with one major exception -- their sponsored WiFiservice was hopelessly slow and encumbered with ads for the sponsor!!!
Review 18:Valloire is a nice place but much too quite in this early June period
Review 19:Nice room, super bathroom and good quality service. Correct breakfast and good dinner. This hotel is more a 3 star hotel than its 2 star rating.
Review 20:The staff was very personable and welcoming. They spoke enough English to make it easy to discuss meals and city options. Room was country comfortable with towel warmers and alpine views. Breakfast was a good buffet and dinner featured regional specialties in food and wine.
Review 21:Before checking in, we visited the hotel 3 days in advance to request adjoining / connecting rooms and we told this was not possible, the hotel was full...this experience was not nice and also caused some anxiety (which was needless as in fact they offered the perfect solution when we checked in!) Breakfast was often chaotic, too many guests and not enough staff available to support their needs. The communal areas (stairways etc) are in need of upgrade and are not at the same high quality as the bedrooms.
Review 22:Rooms were very nicely furnished, spacious & modern. Staff allocated us a perfect space for our young family requirements so we had two rooms connected by a private corridor. Good wifi access. Nice central location. Always possible to get a parking space fo the car.
Review 23:The food in the hotel was very poor. We had dinner there the first nightand the food was of very low quality and badly cooked. They need adifferent chef. We had steak and chips, but it was terrible. It was avery poor quality steak that was flattened to around half a centimetrethick and even though we had asked for it rare, it certainly wasn'tand was dry, underseasoned and overcooked. The chips weren't cooked, they were almost frozen still and there was no garnish or anything elsewith it, for €18 each this was terrible. Also the breakfast was pretty poor. Exactly the same thing every day and barely a member of staff in site to ask for water or bread..
Review 24:Good location near the lifts and town centre and reasonably good valuehotel. Budget, but nice rooms.
Review 25:The traditional style room and balcony
Review 26:nice hotel and a great place to stay
Review 27:Very nice hotel. Beautiful location!
