Reviews for Hôtel Les Frangins

Review 1:Bed covers were stained, bathroom shower needs upgrading and the water pressure very low. The room was rather unloved.

Review 2:Location and reception were plus points.

Review 3:Toilet seat kept falling apart and the bath water was slow at running away, as if there may have been a blockage. But it didn't let it hamper our stay!

Review 4:Just a fabulous hotel. Such welcoming staff. We were made to feel very relaxed and there was never a rush for anything. The 2 brothers and their staff are wonderful and we will revisit. Having stayed at various hotels in this town in the past,I wish we had found this hotel before. Top marks all round. Truly excellent! Thank you Les Frangins!

Review 5:The bathroom in room 17 is the oddest arrangement. At least you can brush your teeth over the sink whilst sitting on the loo.

Review 6:I've stayed at Les Frangins five times over 20 years. It doesn't change much nor should it. Great little place, good value for money.

Review 7:Bed not comfortable, mattress could be much improved, booked with shower but was bath with shower head and no enclosure - water everywhere, awkward stairs to floor not reached by lift!

Review 8:Friendly staff and good location

Review 9:Great value for the location but the hotel really is no-frills but was OK for the price.

Review 10:Great location just a few minutes walk from the town centre, plenty of restaurants and shops. Reasonably priced car park opposite (only pay by the hour when shops are open, free overnight/Sunday) or on road parking if you are lucky. Good value hotel. Friendly staff.

Review 11:Nothing really...spot on !

Review 12:The 2 brothers running this place were exceptionally friendly offering great local tourist advice. The breakfast was very good ; basic but very fresh bread / croissants / jams and jambons. The rooms were of a high standard for this grade of hotel ; comfortable bed , very clean linen. Very central location close to the main square

Review 13:There was an ugly stain on the carpet. Room very bleak and in need of a couple of pictures.

Review 14:Great location and friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and clean bathroom.

Review 15:The wi fi only worked in the lobby most of the time. Irritating but not a deal breaker.

Review 16:The room was reasonably spacious and the bed comfortable. It was clean, modern, and the bathroom worked well.,

Review 17:The rooms a little drab due to he colours of the walls but this in a minor point. If they were brightened up they would be very nice.

Review 18:The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The surrounding area of the old town is lovely. The decor in the bar and restaurant were very nice also the menu had a excellent selection for you to choose from. We would go back again !

Review 19:Don't let the no smoking sign on the door fool you! It smells likethe borothers have been sucking back on 60 a day for the last 20 years.Seriously - our room smelt disgusting! Uncomfy saggy mattress, toiletwas faulty, shower was thick with scum. Had to stand on the street for20mins on arrival until another guest let us in. I'm amazed it has ascore of 7.8! Avoid this place!

Review 20:Thank goodness it was only for one night!

Review 21:hmm -my heart sank when I saw the room to be honest. The bed was tiny - husband and I are super slim cyclists and I am only 5'2" but I woke up with my feet over the end of the bed. Room was pokey - had 4 different ceiling levels, and you could see passers by's shadows under the door. Bathroom was cramped with slightly curled lino, crusty/dusty pipes and slightly damp smell. If you're going for basic/budget, there are others.

Review 22:The bed was really comfy. The owner seemed very friendly. Shower worked well.

Review 23:Very friendly staff, I checked in early with no problems. The room was clean and bright, but bathroom needed some minor repairs, but this was pointed out to me before hand. Windows double glazed to street noise not a problem. Good breakfasts. Would book again.

Review 24:Everything! The staff are very friendly and agreable.Near car park (100 metres) and town centre (300 metres).I always come here when I go abroad.Last time, I had no wallet but Yann let me leave and pay from GB---great service! I thoroughly recommend Les Frangins to everyone.

Review 25:No wifi but to be honest that wasn't a major problem as was nice not to be in touch with the outside world, we were on holiday after all

Review 26:Didn't arrive at the hotel until 2.30 am, owner had left a voice mail with access code and our keys for the room, well needed after a 5.5 hr drive. Very friendly staff and clean rooms.

Review 27:Waited for our late arrival and provided secure storage for our motorcycles. Absolutely superb service that cannot be recommended highly enough. Will stay there again

Review 28:Everything was fine. The rooms get a bit hot, but I can live with that, I just had to open a window. But I don't like wearing pants, so having the window might have given the neighbour some unpleasant sights. I'm not bothered.

Review 29:The staff was fantastic, flexible and helpful. I was forced to stay in France after my car broke down and fixing it took a long time. During which I didn't know when I would be ready to check out etc.

Review 30:Breakfast was fine, but overpriced at €9 for a fairly limited selection of items.

Review 31:Pleasant rooms, very comfortable bed, in a convenient town centre location. Very cheap parking available on street outside. Fast, free wifi.

Review 32:It was a warm night so we had the windows open and the street outside was noisy until midnight.

Review 33:Central Location. We were able to put our bicycles in the garage.

Review 34:Only niggle is that there was no proper shower, only a shower attached to the bath taps with no curtain or hook to hold it. Also, a room for 2, with one chair. But when we asked the staff were quick to get a second.

Review 35:Being in the heart of St Omer it meant everything was in walking distance. A short drive away is the amazing nature reserve of Romelaere, at Claremarais. Great, peaceful walk through a maze of lakes and waterways.

Review 36:Nothing really, all ok. If you want tip top hotel ten you pay the money, otherwise this Logis Du France hotel is ideal

Review 37:Excellent location. Friendly staff, Also have garaged parking if needed.

Review 38:We felt the breakfast was disappointing. The shower head needed a bracket on the wall, it was difficult to hold with one hand while showering!

Review 39:We arrived on Friday evening and were delighted to find free parking overnight and all day Saturday. Friendly helpful reception and comfortable if basic room.

Review 40:Noise from revellers in the street until the early hours of the morning.

Review 41:Basic accommodation but centrally situated and decent value for money at about £45 per room per night.

Review 42:Hotel manager very pleasant, helpful and concerned that we had enjoyed our stay. Very quiet - noisiest thing at night was a screech owl hunting. Breakfast staff very correct. Bar across the road unobtrusive.

Review 43:No discount for single rooms - overpriced for non-couples. Parking outside was limited No shower curtain Overpriced breakfast so we skipped it

Review 44:Proximity to main square and lots of restaurants/bars. Good, working lift

Review 45:Went for this hotel as my friend & I were cycling through France looking for cheap accommodation. Location was excellent, staff were lovely & the room was plenty spacious given the price, surprisingly so. Lovely hotel all in all, the owner was a delightful chap too. Would definitely stay again.

Review 46:The bathroom could have done with modernisation - or at least a shower screen!

Review 47:The staff were friendly and the location, with easy parking, was very good

Review 48:No facilities as such. The photo shows a bar which wasn't available on Saturday night and no reception after 9 pm. The whole places has the feel of a hostel rather than hotel.

Review 49:Location and price. The staff were nice and friendly. It was clean

Review 50:Noisy at night but then this is a town centre hotel. Bedroom window wouldn't close properly. If I'd checked this earlier I would have asked to move but at 10.30 at night it was too late.

Review 51:Easy to find, park, helpful staff, Fair price.

Review 52:Our room looked out on to the street at the back of the hotel which was an interesting street and very French looking. Unfortunately there was also the Oriental Express takeaway and people outside it in the street were very noisy in the evening and on one occasion until 2am.

Review 53:The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent.

Review 54:As is often the case in France, the bathroom let it down. It was perfectly clean but we just had a sit-down bath with a shower attachment -- no curtain or shower cubicle.

Review 55:The hotel is in a good location in the city centre, and 5 minutes walk from the cathedral and the main square. There is plenty of on-street parking nearby. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and the breakfast was good, with orange juice, excellent coffee, a croissant and plenty of good fresh French bread. The room was OK, a little small but adequate for the price we paid.

Review 56:Room overlooked by adjacent flats - if a net or shade were installed would be better, rather than like a fish in a goldfish bowl. Room also very hot - no air conditioning only way to cool was to open windows.

Review 57:Location excellent, restaurant very good indeed.

Review 58:Very noisy with people banging doors all the time. No fan working in toilet room. Basin nearly falling off the wall. No kettle.

Review 59:The staff were polite and friendly.

Review 60:Lacked Tea and coffee making facilities

Review 61:Excellent location, Just a few minutes walk from town centre. Very clean, probably recently refurbished. Although we did not eat, there is a very attractive restaurant. Adequate Continental breakfast. Hotel manager and his staff very helpful.

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:The food is good quality and good value and the location means that you can stroll to any of the many restaurants in town if you want to try somewhere else.

Review 64:Indifferent welcome. Arrived before 6pm on a Sunday, had to pay straight away, was given the door code to use and then reception closed and we were left to fend for ourselves with no staff at all.

Review 65:Good location just a few minutes walk from main square and restaurants. Free overnight on- street parking till 09.00. Spotlessly clean room with balcony overlooking quiet street. Has a lift which is uncommon in small French Hotels.

Review 66:Too much street noise from late night revellers Hot, stuffy room No shower No parking Uncomfortable beds Stains on carpet Hairs on mattress Stains on bedding Thin, frayed towels Hairdryer broken Boxed-in bath broken Hairs on bathroom floor

Review 67:Checking out

Review 68:Tired and cheap - but what do you expect for the price!

Review 69:Shower was good and hot Beds were comfortable Sheets were crisp and clean, nice pillow Great location

Review 70:Too expensive. Drop prices by 20% and it would be a winner. No tea/coffee facilities in room, a must at their prices

Review 71:Good location, great food and drink, good clean rooms

Review 72:Not able to have dinner in the hotel on Saturday, Sunday or Monday(14th July!). As we had chosen the hotel on the basis of its regional cuisine and were only staying 3 nights, this was particularly disappointing.

Review 73:Location, price, breakfast and helpful staff.

Review 74:noise of traffic at night made sleeping somewhat disturbed

Review 75:Very friendly staff and convenience to town centre

Review 76:The fact that the lift was broken and my partner has ms so difficult to climb stairs

Review 77:Nothing! Will definitely stay here again

Review 78:Central location; charming hotel

Review 79:Nearness to centre of town

Review 80:The location was good

Review 81:There was nothing that I particularly disliked.

Review 97:Great location, very friendly and good value.

Review 98:just a bit of late noise from the cafe over the road.

Review 99:Great location in middle of town.

Review 100:Drab room, supposedly recently updated. Filter coffee and cold milk not breakfast cafe au lait one expects...

Review 101:Convenient location.

Review 102:Booking. com was not clear about deal of 3 nights for cost of 2

Review 103:location. tranquillity. friendly staff.

Review 104:Customer service straight out of a script from Fawlty Towers

Review 105:Cheap, clean, done-what-it-says-on-the-tin hotel.

Review 106:Perfect location for a visit to Saint Omer. The breakfasts were good, the staff very helpful. We would stay again.

Review 107:The room was great but on the noisier side of a busy street with night time revellers passing shouting and arguing.

Review 108:location to St Omer

Review 109:Stored our bikes for us in the ground floor office, helpful and friendly staff. Wifi stretches to the cafe across the street :)
