Reviews for Hotel Kenia Nevada
Review 1:The rooms were very hot and other than sleeping with French doors open it was much too hot at night. The plastic mattress protectors were too hot and uncomfortable.. It made them too ' noisy ' so we removed them !
Review 2:Feel of hotel was good and location was excellent for the slopes
Review 3:Could do with an upgrade. Gym and pool facilities are not great. No hot drink facilities in rooms. Hot food buffet, not great.
Review 4:Good locker room. Nice reception area. Salad buffet was nice. Amazing massage.
Review 5:The quality of the food was only medium, also it was often not very hot
Review 6:Convenient location to walk to the village centre but hard work if carrying skis because of long flights of steps. Lovely views from the front bedrooms.
Review 7:Central location with fantastic view from our room. Friendly and helpful and professional staff made us feel very welcome. Good food on the buffet all through the week.
Review 8:None. I read the reviews and can understand them. The hotel is not 4 star but nor are the prices! If you want 4 star expect to pay double!
Review 9:Superb location Friendly staff. All excellent value for money.
Review 10:The meals were all buffet with a good selection, but unfortunately were always cold resulting in having to microwave everything! This was a very poor excuse for halfboard. I booked a room with a double bed but had 2 single beds pushed together, again this was very poor, also the bedroom lighting was so bad it was impossible to see!
Review 11:The staff were extremely friendly
Review 12:I booked it because it had jacuzzi - but it wasn't filled and working on our first night even though reception said it was. Didn't sleep well as room too hot and couldn't find where to adjust - don't think we could. Also plastic sheets on bed.
Review 13:Good location Lovely bar lounge area Good food as we were half board
Review 14:poor food at dinner but breakfasts adequate very uncomfortable bed nowhere to hang wet clothes (from the snow) concerned about the safety on the balcony as it was in poor repair high car parking charge
Review 15:easy access to the main plaza olde worlde feel to the place lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water
Review 16:Hotel was not clean our room was dirty sheets on the bed creased noise from disco below awful and the food boring and tasteless and after a long day skiing to have to walk up 2 flights of stairs to the hotel was not good so thought a swim would be nice but at 10 euros for half hour I do not think so will definitely not go again
Review 17:Requested a double bed but got singles even though the place was virtually empty. Furniture in the room was 'tired' but still functional. Advertise lots of extras like sauna, spa, gym, but then each thing costs an extra €10.
Review 18:BIG breakfast buffet even though hardly anyone was there - first week of the season. Great location close to the lifts and central plaza. Room had a ample sized balcony with great sunset views. Big enough to sit outside on if the weather permits. Loved the big bath - great after a day on the slopes. Classic old style furnishings throughout. Very traditional Alpine, outside of the Alps.
Review 19:The use of the mountains for the downhill bike park in the summer is excellent, the trails brilliant well organised and great fun for 2 teenagers........ We will visit again before the season ends
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:The staff on reception were very helpful as we're all the other staff. The hotel itself was charmingly decorated and the location was very peaceful
Review 22:A beautiful hotel with a lot of old charm character. Extremely helpful staff.
Review 23:Buffet dinner not hot enough. Quality of food average
Review 24:Friendly, helpful staff. Good garage facilities.
Review 25:The rooms are very very warm!! So we had to open the windows and we heard music until 4 am, so not much sleep.
Review 26:Location views the breakfast
Review 27:No wifi in rooms, only lobby
Review 28:Location, Alpine style decor, Value for money
Review 29:No wifi in the rooms, the poorest breakfast ever, nothing in the minibar except water, staff not friendly at all.
Review 30:The location
Review 31:Food options not great for children and vegitetrians.
Review 32:Swimming pool tip. Not safe for small children. Should be a shallow end. But otherwise excellent
Review 33:Very uncomfortable bed and noise from the bars all night. Could not sleep at all.
Review 34:Beautiful view from the window Food is ok Good price
Review 35:Parking price, spa prices
Review 36:Staff, location
Review 37:Run down old fashioned decor
Review 38:Location,value

Review 40:The location ! Rooms basic but clean!! So close too ski lifts!
Review 41:Breakfast limited
Review 42:Location
Review 43:Nothing!
Review 44:This is our second stay at Hotel Kenia Nevada. It is cosy and rustic and the staff are very helpful and friendly. It is excellent value for money on a half board basis with a young family. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the views down to Granada from the room was fantastic. The location is good. The restaurant serves a good variety of food and plenty of it. Prices for drinks and wine both in the restaurant and in the bar are reasonable. The pool although not very big is a bonus to relax in at the end of the day. The children loved the pool.
Review 45:This is the third year we have stayed at the hotel for our annual Easter Ski trip, however it will be our last. Previously we have had a great time while staying at the hotel, however this year we had two main problems: The first was a problem with the heating in the room. The high temperature of the room made it impossible to get a good nights sleep. The problem was resolved on the second night. The second problem was the incredible amount of noise coming from the nightclub / disco below the hotel. The music stopped at midnight, but the noise outside continued until after 1am. We can't remember any issue in previous years. We were on the 5th floor and the noise was unbearable. I have never written a negative hotel review before, but feel I need to post this as the hotel really has lost its edge, and need a general overhaul, attention to the heating and definitely need to rethink the ground floor disco / nightclub. thanks
Review 46:The hotel is in a good location, up two flights of stairs from the main town centre. Attitude / friendliness of staff is mixed.
Review 47:The food was ok , but nothing special , there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom . That said we have paid significantly more to stay in other hotels in the resort in the past , and this in my opinion offers good value for money in comparison.
Review 48:The staff are very friendly and helpful , my daughter had vomited in the car going up the mountain and they washed all her clothes and the car seat the same day , and at half the normal price . Good location in the village , albeit the steps are hardwork with young kids and carrying multiple sets of skis ! The rooms are dated , but are clean , plenty of hot water , towels etc . All the parking in the Sierra Nevada is expensive but at least your car is garaged here and they park it for you and move it out to the front when you leave . I would stay here again mainly due to the nice staff who are a credit to the hotel .
Review 49:Room cleanliness, actually think there were fleas. The kids has bite marks in the morning. Very dull lunch/diner (we had mandatory half-board). Spa unavailable and the therapist was off. Very limited lighting in the room. Difficult to control heating. Too expensive, will revert to other hotel next time
Review 50:Nice location, about 50 steps down to the main square. Good breakfast, fresh orange juice. Staff friendly. Pool available, although not very big
Review 51:The room was very small and tricky to navigate passed the bunkbeds at night in the dark to go to the toilet. All a bit shabby looking - needs a refurb. Meals at night were generally good with lots of choices, but we were unable to identify the types of meat - they could do with either a menu board or notes to say what the food was - water and milk are identified in the morning! Too hot and we never had the heating on! And nowhere to hang the jackets.
Review 52:Fab view and location was great, just all those steps back up. Still, helped work off all those extra calories consumed. Lounge areas were great after dinner, and breakfast was fine. Prices of drinks excellent.
Review 53:the pool was very small the rooms were too hotel selection of dinner buffet was poor rooms were a little small
Review 54:they accommodated our request for rooms together and quiet plenty of hot water plenty of food at breakfast complimentary water in mini bar when we arrived helpful staff
Review 55:Parking costs 27 euros day but parking bays outside hotel free though you just need to be lucky to get a space. Kids said they would like a few more games in games room. Jacuzzi not working, shame as this was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel, but pool was lovely and hot. Kids bunk beds very close to door, so beware if you come home drunk, you will head butt them as you enter doorway. Lighting in rooms are very dim, so I couldn't see my clothes in wardrobe, bathroom lighting good though. Minor things really nothing to stop us staying here again.
Review 56:Staff are lovely, especially happy smiley bahco the bar man and a waitress in restaurant who we called wonderwomen, she is a credit to hotel, works very fast to reset tables, amazing. Views over mountains were beautiful from our balcony at front of hotel. rooms cleaned, beds made, fresh towels every day. Breakfast 8am-10.30 was plentiful, bacon, scrambled egg, sausage, then any other pastries, toast, pancake, churros, cereals, fruit, ham, cheese, yoghurts you can possibly want. Dinner 8pm-10.30, varied each night maybe 5 hot dishes to choose from plus cold buffet of salads etc..wasn't a night we were not happy or full, excellent value for money, looking forward to next year.
Review 57:Very overpriced. Room small, could just about open door past bunk beds. Very old fashioned interior. Pool tiny, more like a large jacuzzi. Dinner not good. Generally not a 4 star hotel. Room details said balcony which we did not get. Wifi only available with laptop plugged in from tv.
Review 58:Bathroom good size. Breakfast ok.
Review 59:Food could be improved in terms of choice and quality. Steep steps backup to hotel are a killer when you're wearing ski boots.
Review 60:Staff very helpful. Child friendly.
Review 61:The food does not meet the 4 * categoria. Quantity was o.k. but quality was not so good; frozen food. Spa (steam bath + whirlpool) is to be paid separately and cost € 10,-- each but then you will have it privately.
Review 62:the hotel stuff was friendly and gave me a very nice room for myself and 3 children. Hotel Stuff parked my car in the garage and brought it outside again while I was checking out.
Review 63:The dinner buffet was boring and bland. It ought to be possible to bookthe stay without dinner included.Parking is very expensive. There is a charge for using pool, sauna and jacuzzi but the charge is not mentioned on the website. Only wired internet acces in the rooms.
Review 64:Need to vary the food.
Review 65:The location was fabulous with easy access down into the square. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms clean and warm.
Review 66:Need to vary the food, we were there for 6 days and was a little repetitive.
Review 67:The staff were really friendly and helpful. Fantastic location as really near the square. The rooms were clean as was the rest of the hotel. Lovely heated swimming pool. Definitely will be going back again!!
Review 68:Expensive parking. Dinner not served untill 8pm which can be a problem if you have very young children.
Review 69:Great location for ski lifts, bars/cafes. Very helpful and freindly staff. Good views.
Review 70:good luck with parking!!nightclub next door with music going on till past 5am then all noise from the people leaving the club out in the street. hotel told us they had a licence till 3am but never stuck to it as there were never any police around that time of night/morning. though a good view from front rooms would recommend asking for a rear room to hopefully get away from the noise.swimming pool small approx.20' square. 4 out of the 5 of our group were ill though cant really say what from but....
Review 71:staff very friendly, close to lift stations
Review 72:Staff here were very friendly, lovely with the kids! Food was ok, and lots of choice! So close to slops and only 76 steps down to where all the action is happening! Would defiantly stay here again.
Review 73:Cleaning was poor although we aware the hotel about this deficiency.Wifi connection only available at reception level and no always.
Review 74:Nice staff, cosy and familiar hotel
Review 75:Small rooms, old furniture, maintemance
Review 76:Good location...kind staff...fantastic masseuge (Belen)
Review 77:Food could be improved - very basic
Review 78:Slow internet connection. Loud street in the night.
Review 79:Nice breakfast and buffet dinner. Good value for the money.
Review 80:Old building and like my kids said to me, dad it's only two star Hotel not four.
Review 81:Location was okey.
Review 82:Food was poor not 4 star quality Noise outside front from niteclub underneath
Review 83:Hotel rooms lovely and location very good
Review 84:the staff were very kind and made us feel very welcome.
Review 85:Too small Family Room, ski-guard room, Price.
Review 86:Hotel Staff, Common Areas, Saloon, Swimming Pool.
Review 87:The pool and sauna area need to be painted soon.
Review 88:The personal service, good location, good food and good massage, the rustic style With Wood.
Review 89:Pool facilities closed during summer period.
Review 90:Flexible checkout. Excellent breakfast.
Review 91:Proximity to ski resort .

Review 95:Very nice decoration
Review 96:The weather (hotel Kenia is not to blame though) !!
Review 97:Beautiful views over snowcovered mountains. Very friendly staff.
Review 98:Noise from the street in middle of the night, music, people partying
Review 99:room lights a little dim perhaps. especially to read by - but maybe I just need new glasses!!
